Resumo

O documento de patente é uma importante fonte de informação tecnológica. A utilização dessa fonte de informação permite identificar os principais temas de inovação tecnológica alistadas à tuberculose pulmonar, doença responsável pela maior causa de morte por doença infecciosa no mundo. A dissertação utilizou dados patentários para identificar os pedidos de patentes na temática da tuberculose pulmonar no período de 2003 a 2013. Os objetivos foram a descrição dos pedidos de patentes de tuberculose pulmonar segundo o enquadramento da Classificação Internacional de Patentes (CIP); o foco tecnológico; a distribuição geográfica dos países onde foram realizadas as inscrições prioritárias; o depositante e, a análise da tendência anual dos pedidos de patentes no período de estudo. A presente pesquisa foi caracterizada como um estudo descritivo, exploratório de identificação de pedidos de patente que utilizou as fontes de informação tecnológica disponíveis no banco de dados Derwent Innovations Índex. A quantidade de famílias de patentes resultante da busca usando a expressão pulmonary tuberculosis foi de 2.028. A tendência temática das inovações em uma análise das classificações das famílias de patentes de acordo com a CIP mostra as pesquisas voltadas para a Seção Necessidades Humanas; no nível de classe: Ciência Médica ou Veterinária e Higiene e; no nível de subclasse: Atividade terapêutica específica de compostos químicos ou preparações medicinais e Preparações para finalidades médicas, odontologias ou higiênicas. Observou-se que a classificação dedicada às vacinas, não figurou entre os códigos de maior frequência da subclasse, mostrando que este recurso contra a tuberculose pulmonar não tem sido alvo de pesquisas. A análise dos documentos de patente demonstrou a supremacia norte-americana no depósito de patentes, seguido pela Europa e China; o papel do Brasil no cenário foi pouco representativo. Com relação à categorização dos depositantes das patentes, o destaque maior é para as Empresas na área farmacêutica com importantes contribuições da Mondobiotech Lab, Astrazeneca e Glaxogroup; a categoria de depositantes Pessoa física figurou em segundo lugar e a categoria Universidade foi o terceiro maior depositante. Observando a tendência anual dos pedidos de patente para o tema, o resultado apresentou-se com média de 216,04 no período, incremento de 7,52 ao ano, com maior contribuição em 2007 (264,47) e, após isso, aceleração negativa 5,11 ao ano.

The patent document is an important source of technological information. The use of this source of information allows us to identify the main technological innovation topics listed to pulmonary tuberculosis, disease responsible for the largest cause of death from infectious disease in the world. The dissertation used patent data to identify patent applications on the theme of pulmonary tuberculosis from 2003 to 2013. The objectives were the description of requests for pulmonary tuberculosis patents under the framework of the International Patent Classification (IPC); technological focus; the geographical distribution of countries which have made the priority registration; the applicant and the analysis of the annual trend of patent applications in the study period. This research was characterized as a descriptive study, exploratory identification of patent applications that uses the sources of technological information available in the database Derwent Innovations Index. The quantity of search patent families using the phrase "pulmonary tuberculosis" was 2.028. The thematic trend of innovation in an analysis of the classifications of patent families according to the CIP shows the research aimed to Section Human Needs, at the class level: Medical Science or Veterinary and Hygiene e; the subclass level: specific therapeutic activity of chemical compounds or medicinal preparations and preparations for medical purposes, odontologias or hygienic. It was observed that the classification dedicated to vaccines, not ranked among the codes of higher frequency subclass, showing that this feature against pulmonary tuberculosis has not been the target of research. The analysis showed the patent documents US supremacy patent applications, followed by Europe and China; Brazil's role in the scenario was unrepresentative. Regarding the categorization of patent depositors, the highlight is for companies in the pharmaceutical field with important contributions of Mondobiotech Lab, Astrazeneca and Glaxogroup; the category of Individual physical figure depositors in second place and the category University was the third largest depositor. Observing the annual trend of patent applications for the issue, the result presented with an average of 216,04 in the period, an increase of 7,52 per year, with a greater contribution in 2007 (264,47) and, after that, acceleration negative 5,11 per year
