In the last decades it has been verified that the degradation of the aquatic ecosystems is linked directly with the emission of domestic, industrial and agricultural waste. These include, for example, agrochemicals such as carbofuran from the carbamate family and manufactured nanomaterials such as multi-walled carbon nanotubes. As the production of these materials increases, the effect on human health and the environment is inevitable. Because there is not only a pollutant in the environment, it is necessary to understand the interaction of these materials and their effects on biota, in order to better understand the potential deleterious effects they may cause. Thus, this study aimed to evalutuate the sublethal effects of multiple walled carbon nanotubes, of carbofuran and multiple walled carbon nanotubes and carbofuran using as biomarker oxygen consumption, ammonia excretion in Palaemon pandaliformis.
