Infecção Natural por Burkholderia mallei em Equídeos e cobaios (Cavia porcellus): estudo clínico e avaliação da resposta humoral

RESUMO

O mormo é uma enfermidade infectocontagiosa e frequentemente letal, aguda ou crônica, caracterizada por lesões respiratórias, linfáticas e cutâneas em equídeos, porém de caráter zoonótico. O diagnóstico do mormo consiste na associação dos aspectos clínico-epidemiológicos, anatomohistopatológicos, isolamento bacteriano, inoculação em animais de laboratório, reação imunoalérgica e testes sorológicos como FC, ELISA e WB. Estudos inerentes ao acompanhamento de focos naturais do mormo auxiliam a elucidar lacunas referentes à patologia e diagnóstico da doença e atualmente existem algumas lacunas referentes ao padrão de resposta imunológica dos equídeos em diferentes fases de infecção durante o quadro natural de desenvolvimento da doença. Com isso, objetivou-se estudar os aspectos de diagnóstico clínico, imunológico, anatomopatológico e microbiológico em equídeos naturalmente infectados por Burkholderia mallei, em dois focos para o mormo de acordo com a ADEAL e MAPA, no estado de Alagoas.

ABSTRACT

Glanders is an infectious and frequently lethal disease, acute or chronic, characterized by respiratory, lymphatic and cutaneous lesions in equidae, but of a zoonotic nature. The mormo diagnosis consists of the association of clinical and epidemiological aspects, anatomohistopathological, bacterial isolation, inoculation in laboratory animals, immunoallergic reaction and serological tests such as FC, ELISA and WB. Studies in the monitoring of natural foci of glanders help to elucidate gaps regarding the pathology and diagnosis of the disease and there are currently some gaps regarding the pattern of immunological response of the equines in different phases of infection during the natural development of the disease. The aim of this study was to study the clinical, immunological, anatomopathological and microbiological aspects of equidae naturally infected with Burkholderia mallei in two outbreaks for glanders according to ADEAL and MAPA, in the state of Alagoas.
