The objective was to evaluate the productive and economic performance of crossbred steers finished in confinement with high concentrate diets including licuri pie. The experiment was conducted on a farm located at 15º 09 07 south latitude, 40º 15 32 west longitude, in the municipality of Ribeirão do Largo, in the Southwest region of the State of Bahia and on the premises of the State University of Southwest Bahia. Fortyfour crossbred steers (Bos taurus x Bos indicus) were used, with an average age of 24 months and an average live weight of 358.19 kg ± 41.57. The animals were randomly distributed in a completely randomized design, composed of four treatments, with 11 animals per treatment: control (without including licuri pie in the diet); inclusion of 8.5; 17 and 25.5% licuri pie, based on the total dry matter of the diet. The addition of licuri pie promoted a linear decreasing effect for the variables of dry matter consumption, non-fibrous carbohydrates corrected for ash and protein, digestibility coefficient of dry matter, neutral detergent insoluble fiber corrected for ash and protein and noncarbohydrates fibrous corrected to ash and protein. It also promoted a quadratic effect on EE consumption with a maximum response of 14.47%, and on the EE digestibility coefficient with a maximum response of 9.99%, at the level of inclusion of 17% licuri pie in the diet. Performance variables were not influenced by diets. The addition of licuri pie influenced the carcass characteristics, with a decreasing linear effect on the hot carcass yield and a quadratic effect on the rib eye area, with a maximum response of 13.14% at the inclusion level of 8.5%. licuri pie in the diet. The cholesterol content showed a decreasing linear behavior and the total lipid content showed a quadratic effect with a maximum response of 13.40% at the level of inclusion of 17% licuri pie in the diet. Among the economic viability variables, the cost per animal showed a decreasing linear effect. Licuri pie as an ingredient in the feeding of ruminants is a viable food alternative in terms of biological efficiency of animals. The use of this coproduct is dependent on the bioeconomic responses obtained, and therefore, it is recommended to use licuri pie in up to 25.5% of inclusion in the crossbred steers diet finished in feedlot.
