The use of mixed nonlinear models to model the growth curve throughout the animal's life is important, mainly because it considers the random variation between animals within each time and the random variation between measurements within animals. Thus, this research aimed to identify non-linear regression models with a focus on mixed models suitable to describe the growth of New Zealand rabbits, based on live weight records and measurements of the loin eye area obtained by ultrasound. at different ages. The data used in this research come from 66 animals created in the Didactic-Productive Module of Cuniculture located in the municipality of Bom Jesus, between the years 2017 and 2019. The non-linear functions used were: Brody, Gompertz, Logistics, Richards, Meloun 1 , Modified Michaelis-Menten, Santana and Von Bertalanffy. For PV, the Von Bertalanffy model was the most adequate in relation to the evaluated criteria, the highest value of the coefficient of determination R² (0.98) and the lowest values of AIC (6.675,30) and BIC (6.691.90). In the AOL characteristic, the Logistics model was the most appropriate, based on R² (0.52), AIC (783.90) and BIC (798.40). The estimates of the absolute growth rate (TCA) using the Von Bertalanffy and Logistical models for PV and AOL were 21.51 g.dia-1 and 3.16cm², respectively. The relative growth rates for each characteristic with its respective model were 0.028 and 0.014 for weight and AOL, respectively, at the inflection point. The recommended models for analyzing the weight growth curve and carcass of New Zealand rabbits are Von Bertalanffy and Logístico, respectively, both with a random effect on parameter A. New Zealand rabbits showed lower weight and carcass growth after 40 and 16 days of age, respectively. The gain in body mass (ACT) is greater than the gain in muscle.
