[Evaliating men's health survey results within the framework of "men's health school"].

Within the framework of "Men's Health School" 571 men were examined in 2014. The mean age of the surveyed men was 49.66+/-14.5 years. 86% (227) of the surveyed men had PSA levels from 0 to 4 ng/ml. Prostate ultrasound scan showed prostate enlargement in 37.2%+/-6.0 of men. The disturbances of libido or sexual life were registered in 45.5% (221) of the surveyed men. 58% of patients reported insufficient penile rigidity for sexual intercourse, 50% reported a sharp decrease in the amount of ejaculate, and 10% - pain during erection. Detailed medical history showed that in many patients the disease was provoked by family discord. The study findings revealed the poor condition of the male reproductive system in Kazakhstan. Resolving this problem requires considerable logistical costs, and an integrated approach to the early detection of diseases of the male reproductive system. The reproductive health of men was found to be affected by somatic, psychological and sexual health factors. At present we can say about the need for such "Men's Health School" in all regions on a regular basis, especially with the training of the primary care physicians.

[New approaches to the treatment of pathospermia].

The study included 75 patients with various forms of pathospermia due to chronic inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract and after surgeries on the organs of the reproductive system (varicocelectomy). The mean age was 34.5 +/- 5.2 years. All the patients were divided into 3 groups of 25 individuals. Group 1 of patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis, along with the standard treatment received a biologically active supplement androdoz; Group 2 of patients after varicocelectomy (3-6 months after surgery) received a biologically active supplement androdoz, Groop 3 of patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis--only standard therapy. As a result of the treatment, spermogram parameters were improved in 46 patients (92%) of 50 patients in Group 1 and 2, deteriorated--in 1 (2%) patient, and have not changed in 3 (6%) patients. The study demonstrated a statistically significant increase in the concentration, the proportion of active sperm, and in the number of morphologically normal sperm forms. The good tolerability and safety of dietary supplement androdoz were detected.

[Treatment of urolithiasis in the horse-shoe-shaped kidney].

Seventeen patients with horse-shoe kidneys and nephroliths (5 females, 12 men, age from 17 to 63 years) participated in the trial. All the patients have undergone a complete clinical and laboratory examinations. Use of modern high-tech methods in urology allows one to have a new look on nephroliths treatment in patients with horseshoe kidney. It was found effective to apply extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy if the horse-shoe kidney contains one stone of up to 1.5 cm in size and a latent-stage pyelonephritis. Internal drainage of the ureter by a stent catheter before surgery decreases the risk of complications and provides fragmentation of the stone. In horse-shoe kidney with multiple nephroliths, conventional operation such as pyelolithotomy should be supplemented with ureter stent catheterization and extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy.

[Characteristics of immunodeficiencies in patients with epididymitis].

The functional and metabolic activity of neutrophils, the expression of receptors to the Fc fragment of IgG molecules and C3 of the neutrophilic complement, and the subpopulational affiliation of peripheral lymphocytes were studied to examine immunity in patients with epididymitis. The immunological changes that occur 2-3 days earlier point to the fact that patients with epididymitis and suggest that the methods of immunological testing can be used to predict the course of an inflammatory process and the efficiency of performed treatments.

Concentrations of Na, K, Ca ions, oxalic and uric acids, total Ca, P as well as urease activity, the ability to form crystals, speed of crystallization, crystal chemical composition, pH stability were evaluated in the urine from 40 urolithiasis patients and 40 patients with recurrent nephroliths. It was found that fast or moderate crystallization, high urease activity and ability to form crystals, unstable urine pH indicate a high risk of both primary and recurrent nephrolith formation.
