RESUMO

AF4/FMR2 family member (AFF) proteins are a group of transcriptional regulators that can regulate gene transcription and play an important role in cellular physiological processes such as proliferation and differentiation. The transcriptome data of the lamprey spinal cord injury were analyzed in previous research. We then identified a hub gene, Lr-AFF3, from this dataset. Phylogenetic tree analysis determined the evolutionary relationships of the AFF gene family across different species. In addition, analysis of motifs, domains, and 3D structures further confirmed the conservatism of the AFF gene family. In particular, the gene structure of the AFF3 gene was not conserved, possibly because of intron insertion. It was also found that the neighboring genes of the Lr-AFF3 gene had a higher diversity than that in jawed vertebrates through synteny analysis. The results of the MTT and EdU experiments showed that the C-terminal homology domain (CHD) and N-terminal homology domain (NHD) of Lr-AFF3 promoted cell proliferation. In summary, our research will not only provide new insights into the origin and evolution of the AFF gene family in different species, but also provide new clues for the functions of Lr_AFF3.

RESUMO

The construction of an all-in-one catalyst, in which the photosensitizer and the transition metal site are close to each other, is important for improving the efficiency of metallaphotoredox catalysis. However, the development of convenient synthetic strategies for the precise construction of an all-in-one catalyst remains a challenging task due to the requirement of precise installation of the catalytic sites. Herein, we have successfully established a facile bottom-up strategy for the direct synthesis of Ni(II)-incorporated covalent organic framework (COF), named LZU-713@Ni, as a versatile all-in-one metallaphotoredox catalyst. LZU-713@Ni showed excellent activity and recyclability in the photoredox/nickel-catalyzed C-O, C-S, and C-P cross-coupling reactions. Notably, this catalyst displayed a better catalytic activity than its homogeneous analogues, physically mixed dual catalyst system, and, especially, LZU-713/Ni which was prepared through post-synthetic modification. The improved catalytic efficiency of LZU-713@Ni should be attributed to the implementation of bottom-up strategy, which incorporated the fixed, ordered, and abundant catalytic sites into its framework. This work sheds new light on the exploration of concise and effective strategies for the construction of multifunctional COF-based photocatalysts.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Although it has been established that elevated blood pressure and its variability worsen outcomes in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, antihypertensives use during the acute phase still lacks robust evidence. A blood pressure-lowering regimen using remifentanil and dexmedetomidine might be a reasonable therapeutic option given their analgesic and antisympathetic effects. The objective of this superiority trial was to validate the efficacy and safety of this blood pressure-lowering strategy that uses remifentanil and dexmedetomidine in patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage. METHODS: In this multicenter, prospective, single-blinded, superiority randomized controlled trial, patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and systolic blood pressure (SBP) 150 mmHg or greater were randomly allocated to the intervention group (a preset protocol with a standard guideline management using remifentanil and dexmedetomidine) or the control group (standard guideline-based management) to receive blood pressure-lowering treatment. The primary outcome was the SBP control rate (less than 140 mmHg) at 1 h posttreatment initiation. Secondary outcomes included blood pressure variability, neurologic function, and clinical outcomes. RESULTS: A total of 338 patients were allocated to the intervention (n = 167) or control group (n = 171). The SBP control rate at 1 h posttreatment initiation in the intervention group was higher than that in controls (101 of 161, 62.7% vs. 66 of 166, 39.8%; difference, 23.2%; 95% CI, 12.4 to 34.1%; P < 0.001). Analysis of secondary outcomes indicated that patients in the intervention group could effectively reduce agitation while achieving lighter sedation, but no improvement in clinical outcomes was observed. Regarding safety, the incidence of bradycardia and respiratory depression was higher in the intervention group. CONCLUSIONS: Among intracerebral hemorrhage patients with a SBP 150 mmHg or greater, a preset protocol using a remifentanil and dexmedetomidine-based standard guideline management significantly increased the SBP control rate at 1 h posttreatment compared with the standard guideline-based management.

RESUMO

The contact wire wear is an important parameter to ensure the safety operation of electric railways. The contact wire may break if the wear is serious, which leads to transportation interruptions. This study proposes an optical measurement method of contact wire wear, using stereovision technology. The matching method of stereovision based on line-scan cameras is proposed. A lookup-table method is developed to exactly determine the image resolution caused by the contact wire being in different spatial positions. The wear width of the contact wire is extracted from catenaries' images, and the residual thickness of the contact wire is calculated. The method was verified by field tests. The round-robin tests of the residual thickness at the same location present excellent measurement repetitiveness. The maximum difference value between dynamic test results and ground measurement results is 0.13 mm. This research represents a potential way to implement condition-based maintenance for contact wire wear in the future in order to improve the maintenance efficiency and ensure the safety of catenary infrastructure.

RESUMO

The evergreen versus deciduous leaf habit is an important functional trait for adaptation of forest trees and has been hypothesized to be related to the evolutionary processes of the component species under paleoclimatic change, and potentially reflected in the dynamic history of evergreen broadleaved forests (EBLFs) in East Asia. However, knowledge about the shift of evergreen versus deciduous leaf with the impact of paleoclimatic change using genomic data remains rare. Here, we focus on the Litsea complex (Lauraceae), a key lineage with dominant species of EBLFs, to gain insights into how evergreen versus deciduous trait shifted, providing insights into the origin and historical dynamics of EBLFs in East Asia under Cenozoic climate change. We reconstructed a robust phylogeny of the Litsea complex using genome-wide single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) with eight clades resolved. Fossil-calibrated analyses, diversification rate shifts, ancestral habit, ecological niche modelling and climate niche reconstruction were employed to estimate its origin and diversification pattern. Taking into account studies on other plant lineages dominating EBLFs of East Asia, it was revealed that the prototype of EBLFs in East Asia probably emerged in the Early Eocene (55-50 million years ago [Ma]), facilitated by the greenhouse warming. As a response to the cooling and drying climate in the Middle to Late Eocene (48-38 Ma), deciduous habits were evolved in the dominant lineages of the EBLFs in East Asia. Up to the Early Miocene (23 Ma), the prevailing of East Asian monsoon increased the extreme seasonal precipitation and accelerated the emergence of evergreen habits of the dominant lineages, and ultimately shaped the vegetation resembling that of today.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The incidence of gastric cancer has long been at a high level in China, seriously affecting the health of Chinese people. AIMS: This case‒control study was performed to identify gene methylation biomarkers of gastric cancer susceptibility. METHODS: A total of 393 gastric cancer cases and 397 controls were included in this study. Gene methylation in peripheral blood leukocytes was detected by a methylation-sensitive high-resolution melting method, and the Helicobacter pylori antibody presence was semi-quantified in serum by ELISA. RESULTS: Individuals with total methylation of CDKN2B/P15 had a 1.883-fold (95%CI: 1.166-3.040, P = 0.010) risk of gastric cancer compared with unmethylated individuals. Individuals with both CDKN2B/P15 and NEUROG1 methylation had a higher risk of gastric cancer (OR = 2.147, 95% CI: 1.137-4.073, P = 0.019). The interaction between CDKN2B/P15 and NEUROG1 total methylation on gastric cancer risk was affected by the pattern of adjustment. In addition, the joint effects between CDKN2B/P15 total methylation and environmental factors, such as freshwater fish intake (OR = 6.403, 95% CI = 2.970-13.802, P < 0.001), irregular diet (OR = 5.186, 95% CI = 2.559-10.510, P < 0.001), unsanitary water intake (OR = 2.238, 95% CI = 1.144-4.378, P = 0.019), smoking (OR = 2.421, 95% CI = 1.456-4.026, P = 0.001), alcohol consumption(OR = 2.163, 95% CI = 1.309-3.576, P = 0.003), and garlic intake(OR = 0.373, 95% CI = 0.196-0.709, P = 0.003) on GC risk were observed, respectively. However, CDKN2B/P15 and NEUROG1 total methylation were not associated with gastric cancer prognosis. CONCLUSION: CDKN2B/P15 methylation in peripheral blood may be a potential biomarker for evaluating susceptibility to gastric cancer. The joint effects between CDKN2B/P15 methylation and environmental factors may also contribute to gastric cancer susceptibility.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Polypodiales suborder Dennstaedtiineae contain a single family Dennstaedtiaceae, eleven genera, and about 270 species, and include some groups that were previously placed in Dennstaedtiaceae, Hypolepidaceae, Monachosoraceae, and Pteridaceae. The classification and phylogenetic relationships among these eleven genera have been poorly understood. To explore the deep relationships within suborder Dennstaedtiineae and estimate the early diversification of this morphologically heterogeneous group, we analyzed complete plastomes of 57 samples representing all eleven genera of suborder Dennstaedtiineae using maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference. RESULTS: The phylogenetic relationships of all the lineages in the bracken fern family Dennstaedtiaceae were well resolved with strong support values. All six genera of Hypolepidoideae were recovered as forming a monophyletic group with full support, and Pteridium was fully supported as sister to all the other genera in Hypolepidoideae. Dennstaedtioideae (Dennstaedtia s.l.) fell into four clades with full support: the Microlepia clade, the northern Dennstaedtia clade, the Dennstaedtia globulifera clade, and the Dennstaedtia s.s. clade. Monachosorum was strongly resolved as sister to all the remaining genera of suborder Dennstaedtiineae. Based on the well resolved relationships among genera, the divergence between Monachosorum and other groups of suborder Dennstaedtiineae was estimated to have occurred in the Early Cretaceous, and all extant genera (and clades) in Dennstaedtiineae, were inferred to have diversified since the Late Oligocene. CONCLUSION: This study supports reinstating a previously published family Monachosoraceae as a segregate from Dennstaedtiaceae, based on unique morphological evidence, the shady habitat, and the deep evolutionary divergence from its closest relatives.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Cancer patients were found at a high risk of death from cardiovascular disease. This study aims to assess cardiovascular mortality risk and identify the potential risk factors associated with cardiovascular mortality among gastric cancer patients. METHODS: Gastric cancer patients were collected from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database during 1975-2016. Standardized mortality ratios were calculated to compare cardiovascular mortality rates between gastric cancer patients and the general US population. Univariable Cox analysis and multivariable stepwise Cox analysis were adopted to identify the potential risk factors for cardiovascular disease death after gastric cancer diagnosis. RESULTS: There were 10 886 cardiovascular disease deaths identified among 165 433 individuals with gastric cancer observed for 410207.20 person-years. Gastric cancer patients were at a higher cardiovascular disease mortality risk (standardized mortality ratio = 3.35, 95% confidence interval: 3.24-3.47, P < 0.05). The study showed that older age at diagnosis (>80 years vs. 0-69 years, hazard ratio = 7.05, 95% confidence interval: 6.66-7.46, P < 0.001; 70-80 years vs. 0-69 years, hazard ratio = 3.35, 95% confidence interval: 3.19-3.53, P < 0.001), male sex (vs. female, hazard ratio = 1.39, 95% confidence interval: 1.33-1.45, P < 0.001), black race (vs. white, hazard ratio = 1.31, 95% confidence interval: 1.24-1.38, P < 0.001), without a partner (divorced/separated vs. married/partnered, hazard ratio = 1.35, 95% confidence interval: 1.25-1.45, P < 0.001; single vs. married/partnered, hazard ratio = 1.20, 95% confidence interval: 1.12-1.29, P < 0.001; widowed vs. married/partnered, hazard ratio = 1.41, 95% confidence interval: 1.34-1.48, P < 0.001), living in the northern plains (vs. pacific coast, hazard ratio = 1.23, 95% confidence interval: 1.16-1.29, P < 0.001) and surgery not performed (vs. performed, hazard ratio = 1.70, 95% confidence interval: 1.61-1.79, P < 0.001) were significantly associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease death. Compared with patients with localized stage, distant staged patients were less likely to die of cardiovascular disease (hazard ratio = 0.88, 95% confidence interval: 0.83-0.94, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Gastric cancer patients were at an increased risk of cardiovascular disease death. Older age at diagnosis, male sex, black race, without a partner, living in the northern plains and surgery not performed were significantly associated with cardiovascular disease death after gastric cancer diagnosis.

RESUMO

Over the past few decades, the research of dissipative chaotic systems has yielded many achievements in both theory and application. However, attractors in dissipative systems are easily reconstructed by the attacker, which leads to information security problems. Compared with dissipative systems, conservative ones can effectively avoid these reconstructing attacks due to the absence of attractors. Therefore, conservative systems have advantages in chaos-based applications. Currently, there are still relatively few studies on conservative systems. For this purpose, based on the simplest memristor circuit in this paper, a non-Hamiltonian 3D conservative system without equilibria is proposed. The phase volume conservatism is analyzed by calculating the divergence of the system. Furthermore, a Kolmogorov-type transformation suggests that the Hamiltonian energy is not conservative. The most prominent property in the conservative system is that it exhibits quasi-periodic 3D tori with heterogeneous coexisting and different amplitude rescaling trajectories triggered by initial values. In addition, the results of Spectral Entropy analysis and NIST test show that the system can produce pseudo-random numbers with high randomness. To the best of our knowledge, there is no 3D conservative system with such complex dynamics, especially in a memristive conservative system. Finally, the analog circuit of the system is designed and implemented to test its feasibility as well.

RESUMO

Thiamine deficiency contributes to several human diseases including Alzheimer's. As its biologically active form, thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) has been considered as a potential biomarker for Alzheimer's disease (AD) based on several clinical reports that apparently lower blood TPP levels were found in patients with mild cognitive impairment to AD. However, highly sensitive and high-throughput detection of TPP in biological fluids remains an analytical challenge. Here, we report engineering RNA-based sensors to quantitatively measure TPP concentrations in whole blood samples with a detection limit down to a few nM. By fusing a TPP-specific aptamer with the hammerhead ribozyme for in vitro selection, we isolated an allosteric ribozyme with an EC50 value (68 nM) similar to the aptamer's KD value (50 nM) for TPP, which for the first time demonstrates the possibility to maintain the effector binding affinity of the aptamer in such engineered allosteric RNA constructs. Meanwhile, we developed a new blood sample preparation protocol to be compatible with RNA. By coupling the TPP-induced ribozyme cleavage event with isothermal amplification, we achieved fluorescence monitoring of whole blood TPP levels through the "mix-and-read" operation with high-throughput potential. We expect that the engineered TPP-sensing RNAs will facilitate clinical research on AD as well as other thiamine-related diseases.

RESUMO

Perovskite oxides are studied as electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reactions (OER) because of their low cost, tunable structure, high stability, and good catalytic activity. However, there are two main challenges for most perovskite oxides to be efficient in OER, namely less active sites and low electrical conductivity, leading to limited catalytic performance. To overcome these intrinsic obstacles, various strategies are developed to enhance their catalytic activities in OER. In this review, the recent developments of these strategies is comprehensively summarized and systematically discussed, including composition engineering, crystal facet control, morphology modulation, defect engineering, and hybridization. Finally, perspectives on the design of perovskite oxide-based electrocatalysts for practical applications in OER are given.

RESUMO

Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is a key step for electrochemical energy conversion and storage. Developing well defined nanostructures as noble-metal-free electrocatalysts for HER is promising for the application of hydrogen technology. Herein, it is reported that 3D porous hierarchical CoNiP/Cox P multi-phase heterostructure on Ni foam via an electrodeposition method followed by phosphorization exhibits ultra-highly catalytic activity for HER. The optimized CoNiP/Cox P multi-phase heterostructure achieves an excellent HER performance with an ultralow overpotential of 36 mV at 10 mA cm-2 , superior to commercial Pt/C. Importantly, the multi-phase heterostructure shows exceptional stability as confirmed by the long-term potential cycles (30,000 cycles) and extended electrocatalysis (up to 500 h) in alkaline solution and natural seawater. Experimental characterizations and DFT calculations demonstrate that the strong electronic interaction at the heterointerface of CoNiP/CoP is achieved via the electron transfer from CoNiP to the heterointerface, which directly promotes the dissociation of water at heterointerface and desorption of hydrogen on CoNiP. These findings may provide deep understanding on the HER mechanism of heterostructure electrocatalysts and guidance on the design of earth-abundant, cost-effective electrocatalysts with superior HER activity for practical applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Peripheral blood leukocyte (PBL) DNA methylation may serve as a surrogate marker to evaluate the susceptibility to and prognosis of gastric cancer (GC). In this study, blood-derived DNA methylation levels of two tumour-related genes, namely, ZNF331 and WIF1, and their impacts on the risk and prognosis of GC were evaluated. METHODS: In total, 398 GC cases and 397 controls were recruited for the study. Then, all cases were followed up for 5 years. ZNF331 and WIF1 promoter methylation status in PBLs was measured using a methylation-sensitive high-resolution melting method. Logistic and Cox regression models were used to analyse the correlation between gene methylation and the risk and prognosis of GC. Confounders were balanced through propensity score (PS) matching. RESULTS: High ZNF331 methylation significantly decreased GC risk after PS adjustment (OR = 0.580, 95% CI: 0.375-0.898, P = 0.015), which also presented in males (OR = 0.577, 95% CI: 0.343-0.970, P = 0.038). However, WIF1 methylation was not associated with GC risk. Additionally, significant combined effects between ZNF331 methylation and the intake of green vegetables and garlic were observed (OR = 0.073, 95% CI: 0.027-0.196, P < 0.001 and OR = 0.138, 95% CI: 0.080-0.238, P < 0.001, respectively). Furthermore, ZNF331 and WIF1 methylation had no impact on the prognosis of GC. CONCLUSION: ZNF331 methylation in PBLs may affect GC risk in combination with the consumption of green vegetables and garlic and may act as a potential biomarker of GC.

RESUMO

Comprising about 82% of the extant fern species diversity, Polypodiales are generally believed to have diversified in the Late Cretaceous. We estimated the divergence times of Polypodiales using both penalized likelihood and Bayesian methods, based on a dataset consisting of 208 plastomes representing all 28 families and 14 fossil constraints reflecting current interpretations of fossil record. Our plastome phylogeny recovered the same six major lineages as a recent nuclear phylogeny, but the position of Dennstaedtiineae was different. The present phylogeny showed high resolution of relationships among the families of Polypodiales, especially among those forming the Aspleniineae. The divergence time estimates supported the most recent common ancestor of Polypodiales and its closest relative dating back to the Triassic, establishment of the major lineages in the Jurassic, and a likely accelerated radiation during the late Jurassic and the Early Cretaceous. The estimated divergence patterns of Polypodiales and angiosperms converge to a scenario in which their main lineages were established simultaneously shortly before the onset of the Cretaceous Terrestrial Revolution, and further suggest a pre-Cretaceous hidden history for both lineages. The pattern of simultaneous diversifications shown here elucidate an important gap in our understanding of the Terrestrial Revolution that shaped today's ecosystems.

RESUMO

Joint mean-covariance modeling of multivariate longitudinal data helps to understand the relative changes among multiple longitudinally measured and correlated outcomes. A key challenge in the analysis of multivariate longitudinal data is the complex covariance structure. This is due to the contemporaneous and cross-temporal associations between multiple longitudinal outcomes. Graphical and data-driven tools that can aid in visualizing the dependence patterns among multiple longitudinal outcomes are not readily available. In this work, we show the role of graphical techniques: profile plots, and multivariate regressograms, in developing mean and covariance models for multivariate longitudinal data. We introduce an R package MLGM (Multivariate Longitudinal Graphical Models) to facilitate visualization and modeling mean and covariance patterns. Through two real studies, microarray data from the T-cell activation study and Mayo Clinic's primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver study, we show the key features of MLGM. We evaluate the finite sample performance of the proposed mean-covariance estimation approach through simulations.

RESUMO

Six silyl cobalt(III) hydrides 1-6 with [PSiP] pincer ligands having different substituents at the P and Si atoms ([(2-Ph2PC6H4)2MeSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (1), [(2-Ph2PC6H4)2HSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (2), [(2-Ph2PC6H4)2PhSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (3), [(2-iPr2PC6H4)2HSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (4), [(2-iPr2PC6H4)2MeSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (5), and [(2-iPr2PC6H4)2PhSiCo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)] (6)) were synthesized through the reactions of the ligands (L1-L6) with CoCl(PMe3)3 via Si-H bond cleavage. Compounds 1-6 have catalytic activity for alkene hydrosilylation, and among them, complex 3 is the best catalyst with excellent anti-Markovnikov regioselectivity. A silyl dihydrido cobalt(III) complex 7 from the reaction of 3 with Ph2SiH2 was isolated, and its catalytic activity is equivalent to that of complex 3. Complex 7 and its derivatives 10-12 could also be obtained through the reactions of complexes 3, 1, 4, and 5 with NaBHEt3. The molecular structure of 7 was indirectly verified by the structures of 10-12. To our delight, the addition of pyridine N-oxide reversed the selectivity of the reaction, from anti-Markovnikov to Markovnikov addition. At the same time, the reaction temperature was reduced from 70 to 30 °C on the premise of high yield and excellent selectivity. However, this catalytic system is only applicable to aromatic alkenes. On the basis of the experimental information, two reaction mechanisms are proposed. The molecular structures of cobalt(III) complexes 3-6 and 10-12 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

RESUMO

Aim: To assess and predict risk and prognosis of lung cancer (LC) patients with second primary malignancy (SPM). Methods: LC patients diagnosed from 1992 to 2016 were obtained through the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Standardized incidence ratios were calculated to evaluate SPM risk. Cox regression and competing risk models were applied to assess the factors associated with overall survival, SPM development and LC-specific survival. Nomograms were built to predict SPM probability and overall survival. Results & conclusion: LC patients remain at higher risk of SPM even though the incidence declines. Patients with SPM have a better prognosis than patients without SPM. The consistency indexes for nomograms of SPM probability and overall survival are 0.605 (95% CI: 0.598-0.611) and 0.644 (95% CI: 0.638-0.650), respectively.

Lay abstract One of the noteworthy complications in cancer survivors is the development of a second primary malignancy (SPM). This study included lung cancer (LC) patients diagnosed from 1992 to 2016 obtained through the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The authors found that the incidence of SPM in LC has declined. LC patients have a higher risk of a subsequent cancer compared with the general population, especially with regard to digestive, respiratory and urinary system cancers. In this sample, the authors also found that the prognosis of LC patients with SPM is better than that of those without SPM. Finally, this study evaluated the factors influencing the prognosis of SPM patients.

RESUMO

Stroke is one of the major diseases that endanger the physical health life of middle-aged and old people. It has the characteristics of high incidence, mortality and disability rate. Atherosclerosis is the main intervention target for stroke prevention and treatment. MiRNAs are highly expressed in the cerebral vasculature and play an important regulatory role in the pathogenesis of neuronal damage and ischemic stroke. This article reviews the mechanism of action between miRNAs and atherosclerosis, stroke, ischemia-reperfusion injury, collateral circulation and circRNA molecular networks, providing theoretical support for miRNA in gene diagnosis and drug therapy of atherosclerotic stroke.

RESUMO

Four different [PSiP]-pincer ligands L1-L4 ((2-Ph2PC6H4)2SiHR (R = H (L1) and Ph (L2)) and (2-iPr2PC6H4)2SiHR' (R' = Ph (L3) and H (L4)) were used to investigate the effect of substituents at P and/or Si atom of the [PSiP] pincer ligands on the formation of silyl cobalt(I) complexes by the reactions with CoMe(PMe3)4 via Si-H cleavage. Two penta-coordinated silyl cobalt(I) complexes, (2-Ph2PC6H4)2HSiCo(PMe3)2 (1) and (2-Ph2PC6H4)2PhSiCo(PMe3)2 (2), were obtained from the reactions of L1 and L2 with CoMe(PMe3)4, respectively. Under similar reaction conditions, a tetra-coordinated cobalt(I) complex (2-iPr2PC6H4)2PhSiCo(PMe3) (3) was isolated from the interaction of L3 with CoMe(PMe3)4. It was found that, only in the case of ligand L4, silyl dinitrogen cobalt(I) complex 4, [(2-iPr2PC6H4)2HSiCo(N2)(PMe3)], was formed. Our results indicate that the increasing of electron cloud density at the Co center is beneficial for the formation of a dinitrogen cobalt complex because the large electron density at Co center leads to the enhancement of the π-backbonding from cobalt to the coordinated N2. It was found that silyl dinitrogen cobalt(I) complex 4 is an effective catalyst for catalytic transformation of dinitrogen into silylamine. Among these four silyl cobalt(I) complexes, complex 1 is the best catalyst for hydrosilylation of alkenes with excellent regioselectivity. For aromatic alkenes, catalyst 1 provided Markovnikov products, while for aliphatic alkenes, anti-Markovnikov products could be obtained. Both catalytic reaction mechanisms were proposed and discussed. The molecular structures of complexes 1-4 were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

RESUMO

Very-short, short-, medium-, and long-chain chlorinated paraffins (vSCCPs, SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs, respectively) were analyzed in different tissues of the terrestrial short-tailed mamushi (Gloydius brevicaudus) and the semi-aquatic red-backed rat snake (Elaphe rufodorsata) from the Yangtze River Delta, China. The total CP concentrations in liver, muscle, and adipose tissues in the two snake species were in the range of 2500-24 000, 4900-48 000, and 12-630 ng/g lw, respectively. Tissue burdens indicated that vSCCPs (C6-9) and SCCPs (C10-13) preferentially distributed to snake liver, while adipose was an important storage site and sink of MCCPs (C14-17) and LCCPs (C>18). On a lipid weight basis, vSCCPs and SCCPs were found in highest concentrations in red-backed rat snake liver and MCCPs and LCCPs in muscle, whereas for short-tailed mamushi, all CP groups were predominant in muscle, probably reflecting ecosystem/food web differences. Moreover, vSCCPs, SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs were found to be biomagnified from black-spotted frogs to red-backed rat snakes with mean (maximum) biomagnification factors of 2.2 (3.4), 1.9 (3.7), 1.8 (2.8), and 1.7 (4.5), respectively. This is the first field study of biomagnification potential involving vSCCPs and LCCPs and highlights the need to include all CPs in studies.
