RESUMO

Controllable large-scale integration of two-dimensional (2D) materials with organic semiconductors and the realization of strong coupling between them still remain challenging. Herein, we demonstrate a wafer-scale, vertically layered SnSe2/PTAA heterojunction array with high light-trapping ability via a low-temperature molecular beam epitaxy method and a facile spin-coating process. Conductive probe atomic force microscopy (CP-AFM) measurements reveal strong rectification and photoresponse behavior in the individual SnSe2 nanosheet/PTAA heterojunction. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that vertically layered SnSe2/PTAA heterojunctions exhibit stronger C-Se covalent coupling than that of the conventional tiled type, which could facilitate more efficient charge transfer. Benefiting from these advantages, the SnSe2/PTAA heterojunction photodetectors with an optimized PTAA concentration show high performance, including a responsivity of 41.02 A/W, an external quantum efficiency of 1.31 × 104%, and high uniformity. The proposed approach for constructing large-scale 2D inorganic-organic heterostructures represents an effective route to fabricate high-performance broadband photodetectors for integrated optoelectronic systems.

Self-sensing adaptability is a high-level intelligence in living creatures and is highly desired for their biomimetic soft robots for efficient interaction with the surroundings. Self-sensing adaptability can be achieved in soft robots by the integration of sensors and actuators. However, current strategies simply assemble discrete sensors and actuators into one robotic system and, thus, dilute their synergistic and complementary connections, causing low-level adaptability and poor decision-making capability. Here, inspired by vertebrate animals supported by highly evolved backbones, we propose a concept of a bionic spine that integrates sensing and actuation into one shared body based on the reversible piezoelectric effect and a decoupling mechanism to extract the environmental feedback. We demonstrate that the soft robots equipped with the bionic spines feature locomotion speed improvements between 39.5% and 80% for various environmental terrains. More importantly, it can also enable the robots to accurately recognize and actively adapt to changing environments with obstacle avoidance capability by learning-based gait adjustments. We envision that the proposed bionic spine could serve as a building block for locomotive soft robots toward more intelligent machine-environment interactions in the future.

Soft material-based robots, known for their safety and compliance, are expected to play an irreplaceable role in human-robot collaboration. However, this expectation is far from real industrial applications due to their complex programmability and poor motion precision, brought by the super elasticity and large hysteresis of soft materials. Here, a soft collaborative robot (Soft Co-bot) with intuitive and easy programming by contact-based drag teaching, and also with exceptional motion repeatability (< 0.30% of body length) and ultra-low hysteresis (< 2.0%) is reported. Such an unprecedented capability is achieved by a biomimetic antagonistic design within a pneumatic soft robot, in which cables are threaded to servo motors through tension sensors to form a self-sensing system, thus providing both precise actuation and dragging-aware collaboration. Hence, the Soft Co-bots can be first taught by human drag and then precisely repeat various tasks on their own, such as electronics assembling, machine tool installation, etc. The proposed Soft Co-bots exhibit a high potential for safe and intuitive human-robot collaboration in unstructured environments, promoting the immediate practical application of soft robots.

The metal-hydride-based "topochemical reduction" process has produced several thermodynamically unstable phases across various transition metal oxide series with unusual crystal structures and nontrivial ground states. Here, by such an oxygen (de-)intercalation method we synthesis a samarium nickelate with ordered nickel valences associated with tri-component coordination configurations. This structure, with a formula of Sm9Ni9O22 as revealed by four-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM), emerges from the intricate planes of {303}pc ordered apical oxygen vacancies. X-ray spectroscopy measurements and ab initio calculations show the coexistence of square planar, pyramidal, and octahedral Ni sites with mono-, bi-, and tri-valences. It leads to an intense orbital polarization, charge-ordering, and a ground state with a strong electron localization marked by the disappearance of ligand-hole configuration at low temperature. This nickelate compound provides another example of previously inaccessible materials enabled by topotactic transformations and presents an interesting platform where mixed Ni valence can give rise to exotic phenomena.

Herein, the hierarchical porous catalyst of 3-dimensional ordered macro-mesoporous (3DOMM) Al2O3 supported active PtSn nanoparticles (NPs) was prepared by the combined synthesized path of evaporation-induced self-assembly with colloid crystal template (EISA-CCT) methods. The hierarchical macro-mesoporous composite structure can markedly increase the specific surface area, accommodate the diffusion of propene, and decrease the number of surface acid sites. In addition, the special surface property and pore structure of 3DOMM-Al2O3 can modify the interaction between metals and substrates, as well as stabilize the metal nanoparticle, which promotes the formation of a highly active and stable PtSn phase. The PtSn/3DOMM-Al2O3 catalyst exhibits higher productivity and stability than PtSn/Al2O3 catalysts with macropore and mesopore structures. The PtSn/3DOMM-Al2O3 catalyst displays the best catalytic performance with propylene selectivity over 95% at a propane conversion of 33.9%. The study of the ordered hierarchical porous structure of PtSn/3DOMM-Al2O3 catalysts can contribute to obtaining improved catalysts in industrial processes.
