RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To construct the complementary food texture in infants and young children aged 6 to 23 months, and observe the acceptability of complementary food of different months old infants. METHODS: Based on the domestic and foreign guidelines, consensus and literatures on complementary feeding, and combined with the characteristics of children's growth and development in China. The complementary food texture index of 6-23 months old infants and young children was constructed. One province was selected in the south and north respectively, one city and one rural area was selected as the observation point in each province. The stratified random sampling principle was adopted in each observation point, 240 infants and young children were selected for the acceptability study. According to the food type, 12 common foods were selected to make the complementary food toolkit. The parents were instructed to make complementary food at home according to the corresponding month age, observe and record the acceptability of single/mixed complementary food feeding. RESULTS: The complementary food texture index of 6 months, 7-8 months, 9-11 months, 12-17 months, 18-23 months was constructed. Caregivers could make complementary food at the corresponding month age according to the established complementary food texture index. The acceptability of single complementary food for infants and young children aged 6-23 months was 98.3%, 98.7%, 99.8%, 96.9% and 97.5%, respectively. The acceptability of mixed complementary food for children aged 7-23 months was 98.3%, 99.6%, 93.8% and 97.5%, respectively. CONCLUSION: The complementary food texture index of different month age can be made at home, and the acceptability of different texture is good.

RESUMO

Molecular emitters with multi-emissive properties are in high demand in numerous fields, while these properties basically depend on specific molecular conformation and packing. For amorphous systems, special molecular arrangement is unnecessary, but it remains challenging to achieve such luminescent behaviors. Herein, we present a general strategy that takes advantage of molecular rigidity and S1 -T1 energy gap balance for emitter design, which enables fluorescence-phosphorescence dual-emission properties in various solid forms, whether crystalline or amorphous. Subsequently, the amorphism of the emitters based polymethyl methacrylate films endowed an in situ regulation of the dual-emissive characteristics. With the ratiometric regulation of phosphorescence by external stimuli and stable fluorescence as internal reference, highly controllable luminescent color tuning (yellow to blue including white emission) was achieved. There properties together with a persistent luminous behavior is of benefit for an irreplaceable set of optical information combination, featuring an ultrahigh-security anti-counterfeiting ability. Our research introduces a concept of eliminating the crystal-form and molecular-conformational dependence of complex luminescent properties through emitter molecular design. This has profound implications for the development of functional materials.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To establish a set of visualization systems suitable for displaying the transition of malnutrition status in different population across time and space in China. METHODS: Based on the data characteristics of the four monitoring systems, including the China Nutrition and Health Surveillance, the China Health and Nutrition Survey, the Project of Children Nutrition Improvement in Poor Rural Regions, and the Nutrition Improvement Program for Rural Compulsory Education Students, to be merged and the requirements of this project, the client/server architecture(C/S architecture) application mode was adopted, the Visual Studio 2019 development tool set, Python 3.7-10 and C # 8.0 language programming were used for data integration, and a complete set of data preprocessing, data conversion and data integration calculation processes were established. RESULTS: The malnutrition visualization system provided a visualization display system for the nutritional status of different populations under the multi database fusion index system based on the integrated malnutrition database. The system was able to not only modify, delete and update data, but query, display and analyze malnutrition conditions including growth retardation, low weight, emaciation, micronutrient deficiency, overweight, and obesity. CONCLUSION: Malnutrition visualization system dynamically presented the time series and spatial distribution of malnutrition among Chinese residents, and explored the regional characteristics and major challenges of nutrition problems in different periods.

RESUMO

The study of dynamic supramolecular chirality inversion (SMCI) not only helps to deepen the understanding of chiral transfer and amplification in both living organizations and artificially chemical self-assembly systems but also is useful for the development of smart chiral nanomaterials. However, it is still challenging to achieve the dynamic SMCI of the self-aggregation of metal-organic supramolecular polymers with great potential in asymmetric synthesis, chiroptical switches, and circular polarized luminescence. Here, we successfully developed a hierarchical coassembly system based on the mPAzPCC and various metal ions with effective chirality transfer and temporal-controlled SMCI. Due to the dynamic self-assembly and hierarchical chirality transfer of the Ag+/mPAzPCC complex driven by metallophilic interaction and coordination, morphological transition with nanoribbons, helical nanoribbons, and chiral nanotubules was successively obtained. Interestingly, the SMCI of chiral nanoaggregates was precisely regulated by solvents and metal ions in the Cu2+/mPAzPCC and Mn2+/mPAzPCC system. Besides, temporal-controlled dynamic SMCI switching from helix to bundled helix was clearly revealed in the aggregation of Cu2+/mPAzPCC, Mn2+/mPAzPCC, and Bi3+/mPAzPCC systems. This work provides a metallophilic interaction-mediated helical assembly pathway to dynamically modulate the chirality of metal-organic complex-based assemblies and deepen the understanding of the hierarchically dynamic self-assembly process, which would be of great potential in metal ion-mediated supramolecular asymmetric catalysis and bioinspired chiral sensing.

RESUMO

Polygonatum sibiricum Polysaccharide (PsP) with antioxidant function is the main active component of Polygonatum sibiricum (P.sibiricum). The currently poor extraction yield and extraction methods of PsP cannot meet the application of that in food industrial production. In this research, an ultrasound-assisted extraction-deep eutectic solvents (UAE-DESs) method, which has never been used in the PsP industry, was first used to extract PsP. The extraction conditions were optimized by the response surface method (RSM). Both the extraction yield and antioxidant function were simultaneously considered during the optimization process. The indicators of PsP's level and antioxidant activity in vitro were used to present the extraction yield of the UAE-DESs method, the purity, and the antioxidant effect of PsP. Under the optimal conditions, which included a liquid-solid ratio of 26:1 (mL:g), extraction temperature of 80 °C, ultrasonic time of 51 min, and ultrasonic power of 82 W, the PsP extraction yield could reach (43.61 ± 0.09)%, which was obviously higher than single DESs (33.81%) and UAE (5.83%), respectively, and the PsP appeared favorably antioxidant function. This research proposed an efficient extraction method for PsP, filled the basic research gap, and further improved the development of PsP as a dietary supplement with antioxidant function in the food industry.

RESUMO

Black phosphorus (BP), a new 2D material as a layered allotrope of phosphorus, has regained attention due to its outstanding semiconductor characteristics. However, the major hurdles of using few-layer BP for applications are its poor solution processability and low ambient stability. Here, we report a covalent modification of BP nanosheets by a chemical reaction with sodium alkoxide. Fourier transform infrared spectra, Raman spectra, X-ray photoemission spectra and thermogravimetric analyses all confirmed the successful introduction of alkoxy groups on the BP surface with P-O-C bonds, which increased the solubility and ambient stability of BP. The introduced alkoxy groups as soluble side chains on the BP surface not only increase the solubility of BP nanosheets by almost 3 times, but also decrease the degradation ratio of the modified BP by about 2 times because of the encapsulation. In this work we developed a facile synthetic strategy to covalently modify BP by introducing soluble side chains, suggesting an effective way to realize its full potential application in electronics.

RESUMO

It is very important to exploit real-time, ultrasensitive and specific visualization detection methods for hypochlorous acid/hypochlorite (HOCl/ClO-) in biological systems as they are the guardians of the human immune system against pathogens invasion. In our work, we designed a novel reversible naphthalimide-based fluorescent probe NAP-OH to recognize HClO/ClO- with a unique selective colorimetric and fluorescent response, a short response time (<8 s) and a high sensitivity (10.3 nM). In addition, NAP-OH exhibits a novel on-off-on fluorescence response to ClO-/ascorbic acid (AA) with good cycle stability. The fluorescence signal is quenched because HClO/ClO- oxidizes the subunit of NAP-OH to the segment 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-oxo-piperidinium in NAP-O, which can be reduced by AA with the recovery of fluorescence. Finally, the confocal fluorescence imaging has been performed, which proves that NAP-OH can satisfactorily monitor intracellular endogenous and exogenous HClO/AA redox cycles.
