RESUMO

The incidence of colibacillosis in poultry is on the rise, significantly affecting the chicken industry. Ceftiofur sodium (CS) is frequently employed to treat this disease, resulting in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) buildup. Processing plays a vital role in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. The potential intervention in liver injury by polysaccharides from the differently processed products of Angelica sinensis (PDPPAS) induced by combined CS and LPS remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the protective effect of PDPPAS on chicken liver injury caused by CS combined with LPS buildup and further identify the polysaccharides with the highest hepatoprotective activity in chickens. Furthermore, the study elucidates polysaccharides' intervention mechanism using tandem mass tag (TMT) proteomics and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) methods. A total of 190 1-day-old layer chickens were randomly assigned into 12 groups, of which 14 chickens were in the control group and 16 in other groups, for a 10-day trial. The screening results showed that charred A. sinensis polysaccharide (CASP) had the most effective and the best hepatoprotective effect at 48 h. TMT proteomics and MRM validation results demonstrated that the intervention mechanism of the CASP high-dose (CASPH) intervention group was closely related to the protein expressions of FCER2, TBXAS1, CD34, AGXT, GCAT, COX7A2L, and CYP2AC1. Conclusively, the intervention mechanism of CASPH had multitarget, multicenter regulatory features.

RESUMO

Three undescribed limonoids (1-3), named aglaians G-I, and one new natural product azedaralide (4), together with nine known analogues (5-13) were isolated from the branches and leaves of Aglaia lawii by RP C18 column, silica gel column, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and preparative HPLC. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by IR, HRESIMS, 1D, 2D NMR, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations and X-ray crystallography diffraction analysis. The results of bioassay showed that the compound 12 exhibited potential inhibitory activity against six human tumor cell lines (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, Ln-cap, A549, HeLa and HepG-2) with IC50 values as 8.0-18.6 µM.

RESUMO

A traditional Chinese medicine ingredient, dendrobine, has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory properties. However, due to its poor anti-inflammatory properties, its clinical use is limited. Consequently, we have designed and synthesized 32 new amide/sulfonamide dendrobine derivatives and screened their anti-inflammatory activities in vitro. Experiments showed that nitric oxide (NO) generation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW264.7 cells was strongly reduced by derivative 14, with an IC50 of 2.96 µM. Western blot research revealed that 14 decreased the concentration-dependent expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (INOS). Molecular docking was used to predict the binding of the inflammation-associated proteins COX-2 and INOS to compound 14.

RESUMO

The phytochemical study of Peucedanum praeruptorum led to the isolation of twenty-five coumarins (1-25). Of which, (±) praeruptol A (±1), one pair of previous undescribed seco-coumarin enantiomers were obtained. Their structures were established according to HR-ESI-MS, NMR, X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis, as well as ECD calculation. All compounds were tested for anti-inflammatory activity in the RAW264.7 macrophage model, and eight compounds (7-10, and 13-16) exhibited significant inhibitory effects with IC50 values ranging from 9.48 to 34.66 µM. Among them, compound 7 showed the strongest inhibitory effect, which significantly suppressed the production of IL-6, IL-1ß, and TNF-α, as well as iNOS and COX-2 in a concentration-dependent manner. Further investigated results showed that compound 7 exerted an anti-inflammatory effect via the NF-κB signaling pathway.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Intramedullary nailing is the preferred internal fixation technique for the treatment of subtrochanteric fractures because of its biomechanical advantages. However, no definitive conclusion has been reached regarding whether combined cable cerclage is required during intramedullary nailing treatment. This study was performed to compare the clinical effects of intramedullary nailing with cerclage and non-cerclage wiring in the treatment of irreducible spiral subtrochanteric fractures. METHODS: Patients with subtrochanteric fractures admitted to our center from January 2013 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were enrolled in the case-control study according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and divided into the non-cerclage group and the cerclage group. The patients' clinical data, including the operative time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay, reoperation rate, fracture union time, and Harris hip score, were compared between these 2 groups. Categorical variables were compared using Chi-square or Fisher's exact test. Continuous variables with normal distribution were presented as mean ± standard deviation and analyzed with Student's t-test. Non-normally distributed variables were expressed as median (Q1, Q3) and assessed using the Mann-Whitney test. A p value < 0.05 was considered significant. RESULTS: In total, 69 patients were included in the study (35 patients in the non-cerclage group and 34 patients in the cerclage group). The baseline data of the 2 groups were comparable. There were no significant difference in the length of hospital stay (z = -0.391, p = 0.696), operative time (z = -1.289, p = 0.197), or intraoperative blood loss (z = -1.321, p = 0.186). However, compared with non-cerclage group, the fracture union time was shorter (z = -5.587, p < 0.001), the rate of nonunion was lower (χ2 = 6.030, p = 0.03), the anatomical reduction rate was higher (χ2 = 5.449, p = 0.03), and the Harris hip score was higher (z = -2.99, p = 0.003) in the cerclage group, all with statistically significant differences. CONCLUSIONS: Intramedullary nailing combined with cable cerclage wiring is a safe and reliable technique for the treatment of irreducible subtrochanteric fractures. This technique can improve the reduction effect, increase the stability of fracture fixation, shorten the fracture union time, reduce the occurrence of nonunion, and contribute to the recovery of hip joint function.

RESUMO

CsPbI3 perovskite receives tremendous attention for photovoltaic applications due to its ideal band gap and good thermal stability. However, CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs) significantly suffer from photovoltage deficits because of serious interfacial energy losses within the PSCs, which to a large extent affects the photovoltaic performance of PSCs. Herein, a dipolar chemical bridge (DCB) is constructed between the perovskite and TiO2 layers to lower interfacial energy losses and thus improve the charge extraction of PSCs. The results reveal that the DCB could form a beneficial interfacial dipole between the perovskite and TiO2 layers, which could optimize the interfacial energetics of perovskite/TiO2 layers and thus improve the energy level alignment within the PSCs. Meanwhile, the constructed DCB could also simultaneously passivate the surface defects of perovskite and TiO2 layers, greatly lowering interfacial recombination. Consequently, the photovoltage deficit of CsPbI3 PSCs is largely reduced, leading to a record efficiency of 21.86 % being realized. Meanwhile, the operation stability of PSCs is also largely improved due to the high-quality perovskite films with released interfacial tensile strain being obtained after forming the DCB within the PSCs.

RESUMO

As an important category of photochemical reactions, photocyclization is regarded as an ideal entry point for building intelligent photoresponsive materials. Herein, a series of aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) with sensitive photoresponsive behavior are developed based on 2,3-diphenylbenzo[b]thiophene S,S-dioxide (DP-BTO), and the impacts of substituents with different electronic structures are investigated. The comprehensive experimental and computational characterizations reveal that their photoresponsive activity is resulted from triplet diradical-mediated intramolecular photocyclization, followed by dehydrogenation to yield stable polycyclic photoproducts. This photocyclization process is active in solution but suppressed in the solid state, and thus can act as a supplementary nonradiative decay channel for the excited state to contribute to AIE effect. Moreover, the generated triplet diradical intermediates upon light irradiation can effectively inhibit the growth of S. aureus, indicative of their promising application as antibacterial agents. This work provides an in-depth mechanistic description about the photocyclization of DP-BTO derivatives and furnishes a perspective on the correlation of photochemical decay and photophysical property.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Elastin-driven genetic diseases are a group of complex diseases driven by elastin protein insufficiency and dominant-negative production of aberrant protein, including supravalvular aortic stenosis (SVAS) and autosomal dominant cutis laxa. Here, a Chinese boy with a novel nonsense mutation in the ELN gene is reported. CASE PRESENTATION: We report a 1-year-old boy who presented with exercise intolerance, weight growth restriction with age, a 1-year history of heart murmur, and inguinal hernia. Gene sequencing revealed a novel nonsense mutation in the ELN gene (c.757 C > T (p.Gln253Ter), NM_000501.4). Due to severe branch pulmonary artery stenosis, the reconstruction of the branch pulmonary artery with autologous pericardium was performed. The inguinal hernia repair was performed 3 months postoperatively. After six months of outpatient follow-up, the child recovered well, gained weight with age, and had no special clinical symptoms. CONCLUSION: We identified a de novo nonsense mutation in the ELN gene leading to mild SVAS and severe branch pulmonary artery stenosis. A new phenotype of inguinal hernia was also needed to be considered for possible association with the ELN gene. Still, further confirmation will be necessary.

RESUMO

Protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO, EC 1.3.3.4) is the last common enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway in the synthesis of heme and chlorophyll. The high-frequency use of PPO inhibitor herbicides has led to the gradual exposure of pesticide damage and resistance problems. In order to solve this kind of problem, there is an urgent need to develop new PPO inhibitor herbicides. In this paper, 16 phenylpyrazole derivatives were designed by the principle of active substructure splicing through the electron isosterism of five-membered heterocycles. Greenhouse herbicidal activity experiments and in vitro PPO activity experiments showed that the inhibitory effect of compound 9 on weed growth was comparable to that of pyraflufen-ethyl. Crop safety experiments and cumulative concentration experiments in crops showed that when the spraying concentration was 300 g ai/ha, wheat, corn, rice and other cereal crops were more tolerant to compound 9, among which wheat showed high tolerance, which was comparable to the crop safety of pyraflufen-ethyl. Herbicidal spectrum experiments showed that compound 9 had inhibitory activity against most weeds. Molecular docking results showed that compound 9 formed one hydrogen bond interaction with amino acid residue ARG-98 and two π-π stacking interactions with amino acid residue PHE-392, indicating that compound 9 had better herbicidal activity than pyraflufen-ethyl. It shows that compound 9 is expected to be a lead compound of phenylpyrazole PPO inhibitor herbicide and used as a herbicide in wheat field.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Upper limb spasticity leads to different degrees of disabilities in cerebral palsy, which seriously affects the life of patients. Contralateral C7 nerve transfer has been shown to improve function and reduce spasticity in the affected upper limb with post-stroke hemiplegia. However, reports about the efficacy of this procedure in treating upper limb spasticity caused by hemiplegic cerebral palsy were limited. CASE DESCRIPTION: We reported two cases (a 23-year-old male and a 18-year-old female) who suffered from hemiplegic cerebral palsy with unilateral sustained upper limb spasticity and underwent contralateral C7 nerve transfer in adulthood. The scores of Fugel-Meyer and ROM of the affected upper limbs were observed before and after surgery. Compared with the preoperative, scores of the latest follow-up both were significantly improved. The muscle tension of the upper limbs decreased, and the symptoms of spasm were alleviated. CONCLUSIONS: Considering contralateral C7 nerve transfer could effectively relieve spasticity and improve upper limb activity, it can be recommended as one of the reliable methods to manage spasticity and dystonia of upper limbs in patients with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

RESUMO

Background and Objectives: Hip fractures are associated with mortality and poor functional outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected patterns of care and health outcomes among fracture patients. This study aimed to determine the influence of COVID-19 infection on hip fracture recovery. Materials and Methods: We prospectively collected data on patients with hip fractures who presented at Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital between 9 March 2022 and 9 September 2022. The data included demographic information and functional scores taken before, during, and after surgery. The patients were divided into two groups: COVID-19 (+) and COVID-19 (-). Results: This study recruited 85 patients, 12 of whom (14.12%) were COVID-19 (+). No significant differences in preoperative or perioperative parameters between the two groups were observed. The postoperative Barthel index score was significantly impacted by COVID-19 infection (p = 0.001). The incidence of postoperative complications was significantly correlated with general anesthesia (p = 0.026) and the length of stay (p = 0.004) in hospital. Poor postoperative functional scores were associated with lower preoperative Barthel index scores (p < 0.001). Male sex (p = 0.049), old age (p = 0.012), a high American Society of Anesthesiologists grade (p = 0.029), and a high Charlson comorbidity index score (p = 0.028) were associated with mortality. Conclusions: Hip fracture surgeries were not unduly delayed in our hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the patients' postoperative Barthel index scores were significantly influenced by COVID-19 (+). The preoperative Barthel index score may be a good predictive tool for the postoperative functional recovery of these patients.

RESUMO

We report an azide-functionalized cobaloxime proton-reduction catalyst covalently tethered into the Wurster-type covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The cobaloxime-modified COF photocatalysts exhibit enhanced photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in alcohol-containing solution with no presence of a typical sacrificial agent. The best performing cobaloxime-modified COF hybrid catalyzes hydrogen production with an average HER rate up to 38 µmol h-1 in ethanol/phosphate buffer solution under 4 h illumination. Ultrafast transient optical spectroscopy characterizations and charge carrier analysis reveal that the alcohol contents functioning as hole scavengers could be oxidized by the photogenerated holes of COFs to form aldehydes and protons. The consumption of the photogenerated holes thus suppresses exciton recombination of COFs and improves the ratio of free electrons that were effectively utilized to drive catalytic reaction for HER. This work demonstrates a great potential of COF-catalyzed HER using alcohol solvents as hole scavengers and provides an example toward realizing the accessibility to the scope of reaction conditions and a greener route for energy conversion.

RESUMO

Lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Li-TFSI) has been identified as the most used and effective p-dopant for hole transport layer (HTL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the migration and agglomeration of Li-TFSI in HTL negatively impact PSCs performance and stability. Herein, we report an effective strategy for adding a liquid crystal organic small molecule (LQ) into Li-TFSI doped (2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'- spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD) HTL. It was found that the introduction of LQ into Spiro-OMeTAD HTL can efficiently enhance the charge carrier extraction and transportation in device, which can strongly retard the charge carrier recombination in device. Consequently, the PSCs efficiency is significantly enhanced to 24.42 % (Spiro-OMeTAD+LQ) from 21.03 % (Spiro-OMeTAD). The chemical coordination between LQ and Li-TFSI can strongly confine Li+ ions migration and agglomeration of Li-TFSI, thus, achieving the enhanced device stability. Only a 9 % efficiency degradation is observed for un-encapsulated device prepared with Spiro-OMeTAD and LQ after 1700 h under air environment, while the efficiency drops by 30 % for the reference device. This work provides an effective strategy for improving the efficiency and stability of PSCs, and gives some important insights for understanding intrinsic hot carriers dynamics for perovskite-based optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Angelica sinensis (AS) is a common Traditional Chinese Medicine used for tonifying blood in China. Unprocessed AS and its four kinds of processed products (ASs) are used to treat blood deficiency syndrome in the country. The different blood-tonifying mechanisms of ASs remain unclear. In this work, a novel method integrating metabolomics and hematological and biochemical parameters was established to provide a complementary explanation of blood supplementation mechanism of ASs. Our results revealed that different ASs exhibited various blood supplementation effect, and that AS parched with alcohol demonstrated the best blood supplementation effect. Eight metabolites from liver tissue and 12 metabolites from spleen tissue were considered to be potential biomarkers. These biomarkers were involved in four metabolic pathways. Correlation analysis results showed that l-aspartic acid and l-alanine (spleen tissue), linoleic acid, and l-cystathionine (liver tissue) exhibited a high positive or negative correlation with the aforesaid biochemical indicators. The blood-supplementation effect mechanism of ASs were related to four metabolic pathways. l-Aspartic acid and l-alanine (spleen tissue), linoleic acid, and l-cystathionine (liver tissue) were the four key metabolites associated with the blood supplementation effect of ASs. This study gives a complementary explanation of the blood supplementation effect and mechanism of action of ASs.

RESUMO

Baitouweng Decoction is a famous Chinese medicinal decoction that has been used to treat diarrhea over thousands of years. In this study, we investigated the effect and mechanism of Baitouweng Decoction in the treatment of diarrhea. Wistar rats were randomly assigned into 4 groups: control group, dampness-heat diarrhea model group(modeling by complex factors including high-sugar and high-fat diet, improper diet, hot and humid environment, drinking and intraperitoneal injection of Escherichia coli), Baitouweng Decoction(3.6 g·kg~(-1)) group, and self-healing group. A urine metabolomics approach was developed with ultra liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight-mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) for metabolic profiling. The differential metabolites were screened out by the multivariate comparison between groups. Diarrhea-related protein targets and the active compounds of Baitouweng Decoction were used to predict the protein targets of Baitouweng Decoction. Cytoscape 3.2.1 was employed to establish a active component-target protein interaction network. Three protein-protein interaction(PPI) networks of component target proteins, diarrhea-related proteins, and differential metabolite-related proteins were established and then merged by BisoGenet. ClueGO was used to perform the gene enrichment based on the genetic similarity. The results showed that Baitouweng Decoction effectively treated dampness-heat diarrhea in vivo. N-acetylserotonin, L-gamma-glutamylcysteine, glutathione, retinoate, melatonin, indole-3-acetaldehyde, L-cystine, biotin, and L-tryptophan were screened as differential metabolites in dampness-heat diarrhea model group. Tryptophan metabolism, glutathione metabolism, biotin metabolism, retinol metabolism, and cysteine and methionine metabolism were involved in the therapeutic effect of Baitouweng Decoction in vivo. A total of 167 targets were identified as major candidates for diarrhea progression. The gene-set enrichment revealed that the targets were involved in reactive oxygen species production, inflammation, and apoptosis. Baitouweng Decoction can restrain inflammation, production of reactive oxygen, and block apoptosis, thereby contributing to the treatment of dampness-heat diarrhea.

RESUMO

Quantum key distribution endows people with information-theoretical security in communications. Twin-field quantum key distribution (TF-QKD) has attracted considerable attention because of its outstanding key rates over long distances. Recently, several demonstrations of TF-QKD have been realized. Nevertheless, those experiments are implemented in the laboratory, and therefore a critical question remains about whether the TF-QKD is feasible in real-world circumstances. Here, by adopting the sending-or-not-sending twin-field QKD (SNS-TF-QKD) with the method of actively odd parity pairing (AOPP), we demonstrate a field-test QKD over 428 km of deployed commercial fiber and two users are physically separated by about 300 km in a straight line. To this end, we explicitly measure the relevant properties of the deployed fiber and develop a carefully designed system with high stability. The secure key rate we achieved breaks the absolute key rate limit of repeaterless QKD. The result provides a new distance record for the field test of both TF-QKD and all types of fiber-based QKD systems. Our work bridges the gap of QKD between laboratory demonstrations and practical applications and paves the way for an intercity QKD network with measurement-device-independent security.

RESUMO

A new polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinol (PPAP), hypermonin C (1), along with nine known PPAPs (2-10) were obtained from the leaves and twigs of Hypericum monogynum. The structures of the isolates were determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. The neuroprotective effects of the isolates against several chemical-induced injuries in SH-SY5Y and PC12 cells were assessed, and most of the compounds exhibited significant protective effects at 10 µg/ml. Especially, three compounds (1, 3, and 7) showed excellent neuroprotective activity with a cell viability of 92.4% ∼ 95.8% in KCl-induced SH-SY5Y cell injury. Their preliminary structure-activity relationship was also discussed and the configuration of substituent in furohyperforin may be critical for the neuroprotective activity of PPAP derivatives.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Recent evidence suggests that albumin-to-Alkaline Phosphatase Ratio (AAPR) functions as a novel prognostic marker in several malignancies. However, whether it can predict the prognosis of unresectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains unclear. Herein, we seek to investigate this possibility by a propensity score matching (PSM) analysis. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study in which 419 patients diagnosed with unresectable PDAC and receiving chemotherapy were recruited. Patients were stratified based on the cutoff value of AAPR. The PSM analysis was performed to identify 156 well-balanced patients in each group for overall survival (OS) comparison and subgroup analysis. Univariate and multivariate analyses were carried out to examine the potential of AAPR to indicate the prognosis of unresectable PDAC. The prediction performance of conventional model and combined model including AAPR was compared using the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and concordance index (C-index). RESULTS: We identified an AAPR of 0.4 to be the optimal cutoff for OS prediction. Patients with AAPR≤0.4 had significantly shorter OS compared with patients with AAPR> 0.4 (6.4 versus 9.3 months; P < 0.001). Based on the PSM cohort and entire cohort, multivariate Cox analysis revealed that high pretreatment for AAPR was an independent marker predicting favorable survival in unresectable PDAC (hazard ratio, 0.556; 95% confidence interval, 0.408 to 0.757; P < 0.001). Significant differences in OS were observed in all subgroups except for the group of patients age ≤ 60. Combined prognostic model including AAPR had lower AIC and higher C-index than conventional prognostic model. CONCLUSIONS: Pretreatment AAPR servers as an independent prognostic indicator for patients with unresectable PDAC. Inclusion of AAPR improved the prediction performance of conventional prognostic model, potentially helping clinicians to identify patients at high risk and guide individualized treatment.

RESUMO

Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis (Willd. ex Adr. Juss) Müll. Arg.) is used for the extraction of natural rubber and is an economically and socially important estate crop commodity in many Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, China and several countries in Africa (Pu et al, 2007). Xishuangbanna City and Wenshan City are the main rubber cultivation areas in Yunnan Province, China. In November 2012, rubber tree showing typical wilt symptoms (Fig. 1 A) and vascular stains (Fig. 1 B) were found in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna City. This disease was destructive in these trees and plant wilt death rate reached 5%. The diseased wood pieces (0.5cm long) from trunk of rubber was surface disinfected with 75% ethanol for 30s and 0.1% mercuric chloride (HgCl2) for 2min, rinsed three times with sterile distilled water, plated onto malt extract agar medium (MEA), and incubated at 28℃. After 7 days, fungal-like filaments were growing from the diseased trunk. Six cultures from 6 rubber trunk were obtained and incubated on MEA at 28℃, after 7 days to observe the cultural features. The mycelium of each culture was white initially on MEA, and then became dark green. Cylindrical endoconidia apices rounded, non-septate, smooth, single or borne in chains (8.9 to 23.6 × 3.81 to 6.3µm) (Fig. 1 C). Chlamydospores (Fig. 1 D) were abundant, thick walled, smooth, forming singly or in chains (11.1 to 19.2 × 9.4 to 12.0µm). The mould fungus was identifed as Chalaropsis based on morphology (Paulin-Mahady et al. 2002). PCR amplification was carried out for 3 isolates, using rDNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) primer pairs ITS1F and ITS4 (Thorpe et al. 2005). The nucleotide sequences were deposited in the GenBank data base and used in a Blast search of GenBank. Blast analysis of sequenced isolates XJm8-2-6, XJm8-2 and XJm10-2-6 (accessions KJ511486, KJ511487, KJ511489 respectively) had 99% identity to Ch. thielavioides strains hy (KF356186) and C1630 (AF275491). Thus the pathogen was identified as Ch. thielavioides based on morphological characteristics and rDNA-ITS sequence analysis. Pathogenicity test of the isolate (XJm8-2) was conducted on five 1-year-old rubber seedlings. The soil of 5 rubber seedlings was inoculated by drenching with 40 ml spore suspension (106 spores / ml). Five control seedlings were inoculated with 40 ml of sterile distilled water. All the seedlings were maintained in a controlled greenhouse at 25°C and watered weekly. After inoculated 6 weeks, all the seedlings with spore suspension produced wilt symptoms, as disease progressed, inoculated leaves withered (Fig. 1 E) and vascular stains (Fig. 1 F) by 4 months. While control seedlings inoculated with sterile distilled water remained healthy. The pathogen re-isolated from all inoculated symptomatic trunk was identical to the isolates by morphology and ITS analysis. But no pathogen was isolated from the control seedlings. The pathogenicity assay showed that Ch. thielavioides was pathogenic to rubber trees. Blight caused on rubber tree by Ceratocystis fimbriata previously in Brazil (Valdetaro et al. 2015), and wilt by Ch. thielavioides was not reported. The asexual states of most species in Ceratocystis are "chalara" or "thielaviopsis" (de Beer et al. 2014). To our knowledge, this is the first report of this fungus causing wilt of rubber in China. The spread of this disease may pose a threat to rubber production in China.
