RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of group counselling on the career planning and career maturity of male nursing students. METHOD: Sixty male nursing students were randomly selected from a specific-level first-class hospital in Hunan Province from July to August 2020 by using the convenience sampling method and were subsequently divided into the control group and the experimental group using the random number table method. The control group received routine pre-job training, including aspects concerning the hospital profile, nurse etiquette, nursing core systems, professional ethics, nursing emergency treatment and career prospects and planning. In the experimental group, career planning group counselling was added after the regular pre-service training (once a week) with each session lasting 2 h for a total of six training sessions. At six weeks and three months after the intervention, the career status evaluation scale and the college students' career maturity scale were used to compare the career planning and career maturity status of the two groups of male nursing students. RESULTS: After six weeks and three months of intervention, all the dimensions and total scores of both the career status evaluation scale and the career maturity scale in the experimental group were superior to those in the control group with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). The repeated measures of variance analysis indicated that the differences in the total score for career planning and the four dimensions in terms of intergroup effect, time effect and interaction effect between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The intergroup effect, time effect and interaction effect of the total score for vocational maturity, career goal, career confidence, career value, career freedom and career reference of the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05), while the time effect of the relative dependency dimension was also statistically significant (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Group counselling can significantly improve the career planning and career maturity status of male nursing students and has a certain long-term effect.

Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) is an important fruit crop in China. Typical crown infection pockets symptoms were observed on the infected strawberry in Liaoning province, China (121°60'E, 38°90'N) in the autumn of 2017. The disease incidence was estimated to be around 5 to 10 %, but could reach 30 to 40 % in some heavily affected plastic tunnels. The infected plants early displayed water-soaked symptoms on the abaxial leaf surface and subsequently developed reddish-brown shaped stripes and coalesced lesions on the adaxial leaf surface around the main veins (Fig. 1-A, 1-B). Several variable-size (0.3-0.8 mm in diameter) pockets were observed inside the crown tissues after dissection (Fig. 1-C). The diseased plants rarely reached fruiting and were easily broken between the crown tissue and the stem, and would eventually die. To identify the causal agent of this disease, the several surface-disinfested infected main veins and crown tissues were individually ground in sterile water and plated on sucrose peptone agar(SPA) medium (Hayward 1960) with 10-fold serial dilutions and incubated at 25â. A number of yellow colonies grew on the medium at the 10-4 dilution 7 days after plating (Fig. 1-D) in all specimens. The colonies were aerobic, yellow, viscous, smooth, and gram-negative, which is a typical characteristic of Xanthomonas. To confirm identity of the causal bacteria, 18 colonies selected randomly were subjected to polymerase chain reactions (PCR) for the amplification of the cpn60 (Sahin et al. 2010), gyrB, rpoD, and fyuA (C Manceau et al. 2011), respectively. The results showed that the 18 colonies are identical. The cpn60, gyrB, rpoD, and fyuA sequences of this isolate were deposited in GenBank with accession numbers MT513132.1, MW233896, MW233897, and MW233895, respectively. BLAST searches with sequences of this isolate cpn60, gyrB, rpoD, and fyuA revealed 97.7%, 96.4%, 97.8%, and 97.3% similarity with the corresponding sequences of X. fragariae strain NBC2815 (LT853880.1), respectively. The resulting concatenated data set of cpn60-gyrB-rpoD-fyuA was used to build a Multilocus Sequence Analysis (MLSA) by maximum likelihood criteria (Fig. 2). The cpn60-gyrB-rpoD-fyuA sequences of the isolate from Liaoning clustered in the clade containing the type strain of X. fragariae NBC2815, indicating that it belongs to X. fragariae. Thus, the bacterial strain from Liaoning was designated as X. fragariae strain YL19. To fulfill Koch's postulates, the base of leaf petioles of disease-free strawberry plants were syringe-infiltrated inoculated with bacterial suspension (2×108 CFU) prepared from colonies of X. fragariae YL19 washed from SPA plates. The inoculated and control (treated with sterile water) were placed in a chamber (25/20âday/night,≥90% relative humidity(RH), 12/12 h photoperiod) for three months. After one month, water-soaked symptoms were observed in the crown tissues of all X. fragariae YL19-inoculated plants. Two months after inoculation, a significant crown pocket similarly to initial symptoms observed in the field was developed on all inoculated plants. No symptoms were observed in the control plants. The bacteria were re-isolated from the symptomatic leaves, petioles and crowns, and confirmed as X. fragariae YL19 by the above mentioned morphological and molecular analyses. Pathogenicity tests were conducted three times and the same results were obtained. It was reported that X. fragariae usually causes angular leaf spot, a serious bacterial disease in many strawberry production regions worldwide. The typical symptoms of angular leaf spot caused by X. fragariae include reddish-brown, irregular spots on the upper leaf surface, water-soaked lesions developed along leaf veins. Although angular leaf spot caused by X. fragariae has been reported in Tianjin and Taiwan province, China (Wang et al. 2017; Wu et al. 2020), there is no report about the symptoms that infection pockets on crowns caused by X. fragariae strain YL19 as described above. This result indicated that YL19 is different from the other two X. fragariae strains reported in China or the disease caused by YL19 could be a severe case of angular leaf spot and vascular decline or collapse in strawberry (Bradbury, 1977). . To the best of our knowledge, these results showed a previously unreported new strain YL19 of X. fragariae is the causal agent of crown infecton pocket in strawberry in China, it may lead to serious losses to the local strawberry industry. This report will assist in developing management measures for this disease promptly.
RESUMO
Self-assembly is important for creating photonic structures and structural color is typically tunable by varying the size of building blocks, which are themselves obtained after time-consuming chemical syntheses. The molecular conformation of bottlebrush block copolymers (BBCPs) in solution can be manipulated to create libraries of photonic structures. Amphiphilic BBCPs bearing oxidation-responsive ferrocene groups on the hydrophilic block are used to fabricate porous particles via evaporation-induced self-assembly of water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) double emulsions stabilized by the BBCP surfactant. Inâ situ oxidation of the ferrocene groups by hydrogen peroxide at the W/O interface leads to enhanced hydrophilicity, more hydration, and chain extension of the hydrophilic block. Consequently, larger internal water droplets are spontaneously formed, yielding larger pores within the microparticles. The pore diameter is readily tunable from 144 to 301â nm with a single BBCP, thereby generating full-spectrum structural colors. This work provides a straightforward method for fabrication of libraries of photonic pigments in an easy and scalable manner.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: We investigated the activity of loureirin B against liver fibrosis and the underlying molecular mechanisms. METHODS: Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) from Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with different concentrations of loureirin B. We used the MTT assay to determine HSC proliferation, flow cytometry to analyze apoptosis, and western blot to determine the expressions of Bax, Bcl-2, Wnt1 and ß-catenin. Real-time PCR was used to determine the expressions of Wnt1 and miR-148-3p. RESULTS: The MTT assay showed that loureirin B treatment significantly inhibited the proliferation of HSCs in time- and dose-dependent manners. Loureirin B significantly promoted the apoptosis of HSCs, increased the expression of Bax and decreased the Bcl-2 level. Western blot analysis showed that the expressions of Wnt1 and ß-catenin were obviously lower in the loureirin B treatment group than in the control group. We also found that loureirin B could decrease the Wnt1 mRNA level and increase miR-148-3p expression. Knockdown of miR-148-3p using inhibitor could reverse the effects of loureirin B on the proliferation and apoptosis of HSCs and the expressions of Bax, Bcl-2, Wnt1 and ß-catenin. CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that loureirin B inhibited the proliferation and promoted the apoptosis of HSCs, and suppressed the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway via regulation of miR-148-3p.

Abalone (Haliotis spp.) is a shellfish known for its exceptional nutritional value and significant economic worth. This study investigated the dynamic characteristics of non-volatile compounds over a year, including metabolites, lipids, nucleotides, and free amino acids (FAAs), which determined the nutritional quality and flavor of abalone. 174 metabolites and 371 lipids were identified and characterized, while 20 FAAs and 11 nucleotides were quantitatively assessed. These non-volatile compounds of abalone were fluctuated with months variation, which was consistent with the fluctuations of environmental factors, especially seawater temperature. Compared with seasonal variation, gender had less influence on these non-volatiles. June and July proved to be the optimal harvesting periods for abalone, with the levels of overall metabolites, lipids, FAAs, and nucleotides in abalone exhibiting a higher value in June and July over a year. Intriguingly, taurine covered 60% of the total FAAs and abalone could be used as dietary taurine supplementation.

Abalone, a highly sought-after aquatic product, possesses significant nutritional value. In this study, the relationship between aroma characteristics and lipid profile of abalone (Haliotis discus hannai) during seasonal fluctuation and thermal processing were profiled via volatolomics and lipidomics. 46 aroma compounds and 371 lipids were identified by HS-SPME-GC-MS and UPLC-Q-Extractive Orbitrap-MS, respectively. Multivariate statistical analysis indicated that carbonyls (aldehydes and ketones) and alcohols were the characteristic aroma compounds of abalone. The fluctuations in the aroma compound and lipid composition of abalone were consistent with the seasonal variation, especially seawater temperature. In addition, based on the correlation analysis, it was found that carbonyls (aldehydes and ketones) and alcohols had a positive correlation with phospholipids (lysophosphatidylethanolamines and lysophosphatidylcholines), while a negative correlation was observed with fatty acyls. These findings suggested that the effect of seasonal variations on the aroma changes of abalone might achieved by modulating the lipids composition of abalone.

Unsaturated fatty acids are easily affected by metal ions, leading to the changes of their flavor, nutrition, and safety through lipid oxidation. Nevertheless, there is a lack of comprehensive evaluation of the pro-oxidative ability of different metal ions, which have different effects on different lipids. Thus, in this work, crude lipids extracted from abalone were incubated with different metal ions, and the comprehensive lipid oxidation products were analyzed by nontargeted lipidomics approaches using an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-Q-Exactive HF-X Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer (UPLC-Q-Exactive HF-X). Results showed that the overall pro-oxidative ability from strong to weak was Fe3+, Fe2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Mg2+, Na+, and K+. Among them, Fe3+ and Fe2+ could promote the accumulation of oxidation intermediates and branched fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids. Na+, K+, Cu2+, and Mg2+ could accelerate the oxidation of N-acyl ethanolamines and ceramides. K+ and Na+ had more influences on the free fatty acids than Zn2+ and Mn2+. Slow oxidation of triglyceride may be attributed to its long distance from the oil-water interface and the restriction of the polar headgroups of phospholipids on free radicals.

Lipid structures affect lipid oxidation, causing differences in types and contents of volatiles and nonvolatiles in various foods. In this study, the oxidation differences of monoacylglycerol (MAG), triacylglycerol (TAG), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), and phosphatidylcholine (PC) with oleoyl residues and oleic acid (FA) during thermal treatment were investigated. Volatiles and nonvolatiles were monitored by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-Q-Exactive HF-X Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer, respectively. The results showed that the structures of MAG and TAG could delay the chain initiation reaction. The polar heads of PC and PE remarkably influenced the oxidation rate and the formation of the oxidation products probably due to the hydrogen bonds formed with free radicals. Among the volatile oxidation products, aldehydes, acids, and furans with eight or nine carbon atoms accounted for the majority in FA, MAG, TAG, and PC samples, but PE samples mainly generated ketones with nine or 10 carbon atoms. The formation of nonvolatile products in TAG samples possessed significant stage-specific changes. Fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids were only produced in the free fatty acid oxidation model. The activity of chemical bonds participating in the truncation reaction decreased to both sides from the double bond position.

In order to explore frailty subtypes and find their associated risk factors, we conducted cross-sectional surveys of 5,341 seniors aged 60 and over in China using the Frailty Index (FI) scale. We identified four frailty subtypes, namely multi-frail, cognitive and functionally frail, psychologically frail and physiologically frail. Old age and low education level were the common risk factors among the four subtypes. Being widowed, divorced or unmarried was a risk factor for multi-frail, cognitive and functionally frail and psychologically frail, and male sex was a protective factor against cognitive and functionally frail and psychologically frail subtypes. Having a harmonious relationship with family was a protective factor against multi-frail, and fewer visits to the elderly by their children was a risk factor for psychologically frail. Dissatisfaction with their housing was a risk factor for cognitive and functionally frail, psychologically frail and physiologically frail, and a pension being the main source of income was a risk factor for cognitive and functionally frail and psychologically frail. Exercising every day was a protective factor against multi-frail and cognitive and functionally frail, and a lower level of physical activity was a risk factor for all four frailty subtypes. Our findings confirm the heterogeneity of frailty and suggest that different frail elderly individuals need more targeted care interventions.

The presence of antibiotics in aquatic environments has attracted global concern. The Fenton system is one of the most popular methods for eliminating antibiotics in aquatic environments, but the existing Fenton system is limited due to the potential for secondary pollution, and the narrow pH range (â¼3-5). In this study, we report that the bottlenecks for high-strength tetracycline (TC) wastewater treatment under neutral conditions can be tackled well by a class of mixed-valence W/Mo containing oxides (WMoO-x) with tunable morphologies. Triethanolamine was selected as a structure-directing agent to control the morphologies of the catalysts going from ultrathin nanowires (UTNWs) to wire-tangled nanoballs (WTNBs). As a proof of concept, the most efficient catalyst in the batch samples, WMoO-1 ultrathin nanowires, was employed as a model material for TC degradation, in which the coordinatively unsaturated metal atoms with oxygen defects serve as the sites for TC chemisorption and electron transfer. As a result, 91.75% of TC was degraded in 60 min for the initial TC concentration of 400 µM. Furthermore, LC-MS analysis confirmed that the TC could be degraded to nontoxic by-products without benzene rings, and finally mineralized to CO2 and H2O. ICP-MS and cycle experiments showed the good stability and reusability of WMoO-1 UTNWs in the Fenton-like system. The findings of this work provide fresh insights into the design of nanoscale catalyst morphology and reaffirm the versatility of doping in tuning catalyst activity, extending the range of the optimal pH values to neutral conditions. This is significant for the expansion of the heterogeneous Fenton-like family and its application in the field of water treatment.
RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of resveratrol bovine serum albumin nanoparticles on SKOV3 cell line and its mechanisms. METHODS: The morphological changes of the cells exposed to the nanoparticles were observed by apoptotic body/cell nucleus DNA staining under inverted microscope and fluorescence microscope, and the pathway of cell death was determined by phosphatidylserine translocation. Western blotting was performed to detect the activation of cyto.c, caspase-3 and caspase-9. RESULTS: DNA ladder was detected with gel electrophoresis and the cell death was partially inhibited by the pan-caspase inhibitor Z-VAD-FMK. Gel electrophoresis displayed both DNA ladder and smear in RES-BSANP exposed groups, while DNA ladder disappeared in Z-VAD-FMK group and only the smear was left. Cyto.c in the cytoplasm was released at 2 h, while the expression of caspase-9 protein reached the peak level at 4 h and caspase-3 expression was obvious enhanced at 8 h. At 4 h, caspase-9 expression in the cells exposed to 100 µmol/L RES-BSANP was decreased significantly as compared to the cells treated with 50 µmol/L RES-BSANP (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: RES-BSANP can induce the necrosis and apoptosis of SKOV3 cells via either caspase-dependent or caspase-independent pathways.

Lactation is the most energetically demanding period in the female mammal's life. We measured maternal energy intake, uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) content in brown adipose tissue (BAT), serum-leptin concentration, and litter growth in lactating Brandt's voles (Lasiopodomys brandtii) with different litter sizes. Litter mass was positively related to litter size but there was no difference in pup mass at birth. Maternal gross energy intake at peak lactation was positively correlated with litter size and litter mass. Maternal resting metabolic rate (RMR) was positively correlated with litter mass, but not with litter size. No significant differences were detected in body-fat mass, serum-leptin concentration, or UCP1 in lactating voles with different litter sizes. Serum-leptin concentration was negatively correlated with energy intake during lactation. Our data did not support the hypothesis that there is a trade-off in energy allocation between maternal maintenance and offspring growth in lactating Brandt's voles, but support the idea that if the mothers with ten pups should have less energy available for their maintenance than mothers raising fewer pups. Also, leptin is probably not the only factor that induces the high energy intake in mothers with large litter sizes, although it was involved in the regulation of energy intake during lactation.

The globus pallidus plays an important role in movement regulation. Morphological studies have revealed GABA(B) receptor expression in the globus pallidus. To investigate the behavioral and electrophysiological effects of pallidal GABA(B) receptors on haloperidol-induced akinesia, microinjection and extracellular recordings were performed in the present study. Unilateral microinjection of GABA(B) receptor agonist, baclofen, into globus pallidus produced ipsilateral dystonic posturing in haloperidol-induced akinesia rats. However, microinjection of GABA(B) receptor antagonist, CGP55845, induced contralateral dystonic posturing, suggesting the tonic activity of pallidal GABAergic neurotransmission. Micro-pressure ejection of baclofen into globus pallidus decreased the spontaneous firing of pallidal neurons. Furthermore, local administration of CGP55845 alone induced a weak but consistent increase in the frequency of pallidal firing. The presence of CGP55845 prevented baclofen-induced effects completely. From the present in vivo findings it may be concluded that pallidal GABA(B) receptors may contribute to the therapy of parkinsonian akinesia by modulating the activity of globus pallidus.
