BACKGROUND: Organ supply-demand in developing countries worldwide has continued to widen. Hence, using a large survey (n » 10,412), this study seeks to investigate whether human psychology could be used to inculcate philanthropy to raise deceased organ donation rates. METHODS: Three models were constructed to examine multidimensional relationships among the variables. Structural equation modeling was applied to estimate the direct and indirect influence of altruism, financial incentives, donation perception, and socioeconomic status simultaneously on willingness to donate deceased organs. ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS: The study was approved by the University of Malaya ethics committee. RESULTS: The results show that altruism amplifies the impact of socioeconomic status and donation perception on willingness to donate. Also, the results show that financial incentives cannot complement altruism to raise organ donation rates. Hence, investing in education and public awareness enhances altruism in people, which then increases the propensity to donate. CONCLUSION: Evidence suggests that governments should allocate resources to increase public awareness about organ donation. Awareness programs about the importance of philanthropic donations and the participation of medical consultants at hospitals in the processes form the foundation of such a presumptive approach.

Industry 4.0, which features the Internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, big-data, digitalization, and cyber-physical systems, is transforming the way businesses are being run. It is making the business processes more autonomous, automated and intelligent, and is transmuting the organizational structures of businesses by digitalizing their end-to-end business processes. In this context, balancing innovation and exploitation-organization's ambidexterity-while stepping into the fourth industrial revolution can be critical for organizational capability. This study examines the role of intellectual capital (IC)-human capital, structural capital and relational capital-in balancing the innovation and exploitation activities. It also examines the role of technology's absorptive capacity in the relationship between IC and organizational ambidexterity (OA). Data were collected from 217 small and medium enterprises from the manufacturing sector of Pakistan using a closed-ended Likert scale-based questionnaire. The study employs partial least square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. Findings indicate a profound influence of all dimensions of IC, both overall and by dimensions on organizations' ambidexterity. Findings also exhibit a significant partial mediating role of technology absorptive capacity (TAC) in the association of IC and ambidexterity. The findings of the study emphasize the creation of specific policies aimed to develop IC of a firm, which in turn can enable a firm to maintain a balance between innovation and market exploitation activities. The study integrates the TAC with the IC-OA relationship, which is the novelty of the study.

Despite having a focus on sustainability policy planning, failures occur during the implementation process. The gap between policy and its implementation causes failures of the sustainability policy. Against this backdrop, the primary objective of the present study is to explore the factors that create hurdles in the implementation of corporate sustainability policy in letters and spirits. The study adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) approach and reviews all the possible studies from 1950 to 2019 published by six major publishing houses. These studies were found using selected keywords. The findings of SLR reveal governance, education, and SMEs as frequently appearing words while exploring corporate sustainability. The stakeholder theory and the institutional theory appear as the most cited theories in the sustainability literature. The grassroots approach, environmental impact assessment, integrated sustainability assessment, evidence-based practice approach, systematic approach, economical instrument policy approach, and consultant services approach appear as the most relevant approaches used for policymaking in corporate sustainability. The SLR findings reveal five significant factors that influence corporate sustainability policy implementation and can cause the gap between policy and its implementation. These factors are government institutions (including macro and meso-institutions), internal and external stakeholders, management, organizational barriers, and normative references.

The study was conducted to ascertain the role of talent management practices in promoting green corporate entrepreneurship through the median of organizational engagement in the context of COVID-19. The study is quantitative and deductive in nature. The data was collected from 323 employees working in the large manufacturing industry. The data was collected through a self-administered survey and the data analysis was done through Smart-PLS, both measurement and structural models were evaluated. The study found that talent management is related to green corporate entrepreneurship. The study also confirmed the mediating role of organizational engagement relating talent management with green corporate entrepreneurship. This study will develop insight for the corporate managers and decision-makers to understand the intricacies of the talent management process and its interplay with green corporate entrepreneurship, and organizational engagement. Talent Management is concerned with the process of hiring, developing, and retaining highly competent incumbents for pivotal positions. Hence, the role of the talent management process invariably affects the organizational processes and outcomes like creativity and innovation, which come under the umbrella of corporate entrepreneurship. This study will not only add value in empirical research of the chosen concepts and constructs, but it will also bridge the theoretical gap between talent management and corporate entrepreneurship. It is the first study that related talent management practices to green corporate entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it is the first study that examined the mediating role of organizational engagement relating talent management to green corporate entrepreneurship.

This study aims to explicate the contribution of social media platforms adoption on start-up sustainability. Since most economies of the world start-up failure rate are relatively high, there is always a desire or a need to investigate the success recipe. As a result, the primary objective of this study is to understand the social media environment and how start-ups can best utilize social media platforms throughout their life cycle. Based on the qualitative case study approach, five in-depth interviews of social media marketers and individuals working in start-ups were conducted. The finding demonstrates that social media is a crucial virtual platform for striving resource start-ups. Therefore, if a platform gets utilized correctly, it can play an essential role in the sustainable progression of a start-up. Thus, there is a need for start-ups to articulate a comprehensive social media policy for each life cycle stage.

Solar photovoltaic panels are green products that can alleviate the threat of global warming, but the rate of adoption remains low. This research explores the social influence on consumers' purchase willingness or intention of solar photovoltaic panels in the online context. According to social influence theory, we identify two social influence dimensions: informational social influence and normative social influence. Moreover, we analyze the antecedents of social influence: source credibility and social support and the moderating effects of perceived monetary benefits and environmental concerns. Data were collected from individuals, and A.M.O.S. is used to analyze the data. The results reveal that both informational social influence and normative social influence positively affect purchase willingness. When perceived monetary benefits or environmental concerns are higher, the positive relationships are stronger. Moreover, we find that source credibility (including expertise and trustworthiness of peers) and social support (including informational social support and emotional social support) positively affect two social influence types. The findings provide insights into enhancing individuals' willingness or intention to purchase solar photovoltaic panels.

The purpose of this article is to present a mechanism through which the deviant work behaviors of employees can be dealt-with positively through corporate good deeds in the form of fulfilling social responsibilities. Based on the spirit of social identity theory and social exchange theory, the study explores the relationships of various deviant behaviors with corporate social responsibility (CSR) through the mediation mechanism of job satisfaction. Data were collected from 385 employees of 40 large manufacturing organizations involved in CSR activities operating in Pakistan. A self-report survey was conducted using a close-ended questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SEM through Mplus 7. The results reveal that both internal and external CSR contribute to the reduced level of turnover intention, counterproductive work behaviors, and prohibitive voice behaviors. Job satisfaction fully mediates the relationship for internal CSR while partially mediates for external CSR. The study encourages the practitioners to avail approaches that convey the feelings of care, concern, and safety, representing internal CSR practices through diverse HR interventions, organizational support, and justice. They should also keep up the socially responsible behaviors aiming toward the larger community.

PURPOSE: The gap between the demand and the supply of human organs for transplantation is on the rise in Malaysia, despite the efforts of governments to promote donor registration. Factors affecting willingness to donate are contextual and vary from country to country. This research mainly focuses on the selection of most suitable organ donation system through factors affecting willingness to donate in Malaysia. The objectives of this study are to prioritize those factors acting as the pillars of the organ donation system and further to select the most suitable organ donation system for Malaysia. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The data were collected from 35 experts by using a bipolar questionnaire. The study applied an analytical hierarchal process (AHP) for prioritization factors contributing to willingness to donate and then selection of a suitable organ donation system based on prioritized factors. RESULTS: Based on the AHP results, it is evident that donation perception (0.36) has the highest priority in influencing organ donation rates, followed by socioeconomic status (0.32), demographic factors (0.23), and financial incentives (0.09). Further, our results challenge the existing opt-in donation system in Malaysia and present a presumptive approach as a suitable system for increasing deceased donation rate in Malaysia. Presumptive approach promotes the role of health-care professionals in securing the family consent. CONCLUSION: This approach is a person-oriented rather than process-oriented strategy and it relies on designated requesters' skills to evoke altruism among bereaved families. Based on results, the authors recommended that relevant government agencies focus on training nurses to discuss donation with bereaved families and raising public awareness.
