RESUMO

Permafrost is widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere, and its age reaches hundreds of thousands and millions of years. Permafrost contains alive microorganisms which are not frozen due to relatively high temperature of the environment (-2...-8 degrees C), but the microorganisms are immobilized and therefore aged probably similar to the age of permafrost. Longevity of the relict microbial cells is related obviously to their mechanism of protection against heat, radiation, free radicals and other damaging agents. A strain of Bacillus sp. was isolated from permafrost aged of about 3 million years, 16S rDNA sequence was identified and preliminary testing of bacterial culture on Drosophila melanogaster and mice was made. Immune stimulation and improvement of physical condition were observed, and that, together with the age of the microbial cells, presents the relict microorganisms as objects of gerontology.

RESUMO

The destruction of nutrition traditional structure and imbalance of food allowance by the basic kinds of plastic and energy materials impose a negative mark on efficiency of immune protection of north Aboriginals.

RESUMO

The frequency distributions of A1A2B0, Rhesus, MNSs, P, Duffy, Kell, Hp, Tf, AcP, PGM1 alleles, and haplotypes were studied in Siberian populations of Old Believers (Burnyi village, Krasnoyarskii krai, and Isetskii raion, Tyumenskaya oblast) and in ethnic Russians from Tyumenskaya oblast. Features characteristic of the genetic structure of these groups were revealed. The Siberian groups of Russians were shown to be genetically removed from European Russian populations (Tverskaya and Vologodskaya oblasts). The Burnyi population of Old Believers was significantly removed from the other groups of Russians due to peculiarities in the sample.

RESUMO

The rate of respiratory viral infection in the history affects the pattern of manifestations of pulmonary tuberculosis. With the manifestation of tuberculous infection, there is a reduction in the level of mature T lymphocytes and an increase in the values of monocytic oxygen-dependent metabolism (spontaneous and stimulated HCT test). Reductions in the level of activated proliferative cell markers of the lymphocytic link (CD38+ cells, expression of receptors for IL-2, Class II HLA antigens, and receptors for transferrin), in the absolute count of B lymphocytes, in the level of EA-POM and EA-phagocytosis of monocytes and an increase in the concentration of IgM occur more than 3 times a year in patients with respiratory viral infections.

RESUMO

The results of studying of correlation lipid composition of blood and immunity are presented. Features of nutrition of patients with chronic infectious-inflammatory diseases in Tyumen region are also analyzed. Decrease of protein, fat and carbohydrates in diet of patients was found. Level of cholesterol and triglycerides in plasma of patient was increased.

RESUMO

The decrease of calorie in ration content, insufficient consumption of proteins and lipids was found among the patients in the condition of penitentiary establishment, it results in decrease of characteristics of natural immunity and resistibility to various infections agents, to the action of toxic substances, stress and other negative conditions that take place in penitentiary establishment a disbalanse of regulatory subpopulation of cellular consistent of immunity and predominance of suppressive-cytotoxic influence was observed among the patients of the penitentiary establishment (with a reduced ration of nutrition) over halt a year. Considering a health problem, in the establishments of imprisonment one may probably state that a reduced ration of nutrition is one of the main courses of immune homeostasis shift leasing in the basis of specific and non-specific phenomena of morbidity.

RESUMO

Microorganisms of genus Bacillus strain 3M (permafrost microorganisms--PM), allocated from the samples of permafrost soils from Mamontova Mountain (Yakutia) are influenced by the quality and duration of life of elderly mice. PMs were injected intraperitoneally to CBA mice at the age of 17 months. Motion activity, muscular force (lifting of cargo test), food instinct activity (dosed starvation test) and cellular immunity activity (reaction of delayed-type hypersensitivity in vivo) of animals have increased, and psychoemotional condition of animals has improved under influence of PM. Average duration of life has increased by 9.19%, minimal duration of life--by 41.93%, maximal duration of life--by 7.68%. Duration of survival (the remaining life after injection of microorganisms) has increased more significantly: minimal--by 141.9%, on the average--by 28.0%, maximal--by 20.4%. Mechanisms of PM influence on increase of laboratory mice duration of life up to the top specific limit through the positive influence on quality of their life are discussed.
