High-quality graphene is highly enviable material due to its seminal role amongst several areas in modern technology including its role as nanocarrier for site selective drug grafting and delivery applications. Here, we report a facile, cost-effective and single-step method to produce high-quality graphene through customised electrochemical exfoliation of graphite anode in alkaline electrolyte medium. The quality of graphene sheets (GS) were investigated by Raman, TEM/HRTEM, AFM, and FTIR techniques. The high quality as well as excellent Π-Π stacking nature of the honeycomb lattice of graphene was confirmed by measuring the quenching capability through photo-luminescence spectroscopy using organic dyes. A plausible mechanism for the graphite exfoliation has been given where evolution of high density of oxygen molecules exerts large force on the graphitic layers leads to exfoliation and consequent synthesis of graphene. Furthermore, to explore the application of the graphene sheets so synthesized, we carried out studies which may make them as suitable carriers for drug delivery. For this, graphene sheets were functionalized with L-cysteine and attached with the drugs Amphotericin-B (AmB) and Tamoxifen citrate (TMX). The conjugation of drugs with L-cysteine functionalized graphene has been confirmed through FTIR and Raman spectroscopic techniques. The drug loading efficiency of FGS for AmB and TMX was 75.00% and 94.31%, respectively. The present formulation of drugs (AmB and TMX) conjugated with graphene is suitable for the targeted drug delivery as it will enhance the efficacy and reduce cytotoxicity associated with drug.

INTRODUCTION: Success and failure of root canal therapy is largely dependent on the clinician and the patient. Once the tooth is restored into its functional and esthetic place, the root canal therapy is considered to be complete. It is a well-known fact that root canal space acts as a rich reservoir for microorganisms. Past studies show that root canal harbors an array of different microorganisms. Streptococcus mitis and Enterococcus faecalis have been found to be the most prevalent microorganisms isolated from the infected pulp canal space. Hence, we evaluated the association of endodontic signs and symptoms with root canal pathogens. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 120 patients were selected for the study and divided broadly into two groups: Group I containing patients with primary infection and group II containing patients in which retreatment was required. Both groups contained 60 patients each. Clinical parameters recorded for the study are pain, tenderness on percussion, swelling, periapical radiolucency on radiographic analysis, caries, sinus formation, and tooth mobility. After assessment, opening, and initial filing, sterile paper points were inserted into the root canal space for collection of microbiological sample, which was further send to laboratory for cultural analysis. All the results were analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Student's t-test and Fisher's exact test were used to evaluate the level of significance. RESULTS: While comparing the mean age of the patients in the two groups, no significant association was seen. Statistically significant results were obtained while comparing the association between pain and S. mitis. Positive correlation was seen on comparing the association between tenderness on percussion and E. faecalis. Also, a positive association was seen between periapical radiolucency and S. mitis. CONCLUSION: Strong positive correlation exists between S. mitis and E. faecalis and endodontic signs and symptoms. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Sound knowledge regarding the association of microbes of root canal and specific endodontic signs and symptoms could help therapeutic management of root canal infections effectively.

Peroxynitrite (ONOO(-)), formed by the reaction between nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide (O2(-)), has been implicated in the etiology of numerous disease processes. Peroxynitrite interacts with DNA via direct oxidative reactions or via indirect radical-mediated mechanism. It can inflict both oxidative and nitrosative damages on DNA bases, generating abasic sites, resulting in the single strand breaks. Plasmid pUC 18 isolated from Escherichiacoli was modified with peroxynitrite, generated by quenched flow process. Modifications incurred in plasmid DNA were characterized by ultraviolet and fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism, HPLC and melting temperature studies. Binding characteristics and specificity of antibodies from diabetes patients were analyzed by direct binding and inhibition ELISA. Peroxynitrite modification of pUC 18 plasmid resulted in the formation of strand breaks and base modification. The major compound formed when peroxynitrite reacted with DNA was 8-nitroguanine, a specific marker for peroxynitrite induced DNA damage in inflamed tissues. The concentration of 8-nitroguanine was found to be 3.8 µM. Sera from diabetes type 1 patients from different age groups were studied for their binding to native and peroxynitrite modified plasmid. Direct binding and competitive-inhibition ELISA results showed higher recognition of peroxynitrite modified plasmid, as compared to the native form, by auto-antibodies present in diabetes patients. The preferential recognition of modified plasmid by diabetes autoantibodies was further reiterated by gel shift assay. Experimentally induced anti-peroxynitrite-modified plasmid IgG was used as a probe to detect nitrosative lesions in the DNA isolated from diabetes patients.

BACKGROUND: The diagnosis of parotid swelling is challenging and investigations like imaging and needle aspiration cytology are helpful. The objective of this study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) as compared to the histopathology in parotid gland swelling. METHODS: It was a descriptive cross sectional study carried out in the Department of ENT-Head and Neck Surgery, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu by reviewing the medical record charts of the patients who had undergone surgery for parotid lesions during the study period of seven and half years. All patients whose fine needle aspiration cytology and histopathology reports were available were included in the study. The data were presented as mean, standard deviation, ratio and percentages. Microsoft excel was used for data analysis. RESULTS: There were 75 patients included in the study. The age ranged from nine years to 78 years and the mean age being 38.3 17.42 years. The male to female ratio was 1:1.78. The concordance rate between fine needle aspiration cytology and histopathology was 82.7%. The sensitivity and specificity of the fine needle aspiration cytology were 80% and 95% respectively. Similarly, the positive predictive and negative predictive values were 84% and 93% respectively. The diagnostic accuracy of the fine needle aspiration cytology was 91% for the parotid swelling in our study. CONCLUSIONS: The diagnostic accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytology for parotid swellings in our study was excellent. The result of fine needle aspiration cytology is helpful in deciding management plan for parotid lesions.

In-stent restenosis (ISR) and stent thrombosis (ST) are the most serious complications of coronary angioplasty and stenting. Although the evolution of drug-eluting stents (DES) has significantly restricted the incidence of ISR, they are associated with an enhanced risk of ST. In the present study, we explore the photothermal ablation of a thrombus using a nano-enhanced thermogenic stent (NETS) as a modality for revascularization following ST. The photothermal activity of NETS, fabricated by coating bare metal stents with gold nanorods generating a thin plasmonic film of gold, was found to be effective in rarefying clots formed within the stent lumen in various in vitro assays including those under conditions mimicking blood flow. NETS implanted in the rat common carotid artery generated heat following exposure to a NIR-laser that led to effective restoration of blood flow within the occluded vessel in a model of ferric chloride-induced thrombosis. Our results present a proof-of-concept for a novel photothermal ablation approach by employing coated stents in the non-invasive management of ST.

CONTEXT: Epilepsy, characterized by recurrent seizures, is a chronic brain disease that affects approximately 50 million. Recurrent seizures characterize it. A seizure, a burst of uncontrolled electrical activity between brain cells, results in temporary changes in behavior, level of consciousness, and involuntary movements. An accurate prediction of seizures can improve the standard of living in epileptic subjects. The increasing capabilities of machine learning and computer-assisted devices can detect seizures accurately with minimal human intervention. PROPOSED APPROACH: This paper proposes a method to detect seizure and non-seizure events using superlet transform (SLT) and a deep convolution neural network: VGG-19. The electroencephalogram (EEG) dataset from the University of Bonn is used to validate the efficacy of the proposed method. METHODOLOGY: SLT, a high-resolution time-frequency technique, converts EEG records into two-dimensional (2-D) images. SLT provides a high-resolution time-frequency representation reflecting the oscillation bursts in an EEG record. The time-frequency representations as 2-D images are fed to a pre-trained convolutional neural network: VGG-19. The last layers of VGG-19 are replaced with new layers to accommodate the different classification problems. RESULTS: The proposed method achieved an accuracy of 100% for all seven seizure and non-seizure detection cases considered in this work. In the case of three and five-class classification problems, the proposed method has better accuracy than other existing methods. The CHB-MIT scalp EEG database is also used to assess the effectiveness of the proposed method, which achieved a classification accuracy of 94.3% in distinguishing between seizure and non-seizure events. CONCLUSION: The results obtained using the proposed methodology show the efficacy of the proposed method in accurately detecting seizures and other brain activity with the least pre-processing and human involvement. The proposed method can assist medical practitioners by saving their effort and time.

Methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) gene involved in the signaling for production of enzyme called methionine synthase reductase that use for the synthesis of methionine, which further used in DNA replication and repair. Genetic variation in MTRR gene may alter the susceptibility of developing urinary bladder cancer. The present study undertaken to identify the contribution of genetic polymorphisms in the MTRR gene on the selected polymorphic sites including c.66A>G and c.524C>T towards urinary bladder cancer risk. Direct-DNA sequencing method was applied for the observation of genotyping distribution of MTRR c.66A>G and c.524C>T polymorphisms in 232 histopathological confirmed cases of transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of urinary bladder cancer and 250 age-, sex- and ethnicity-matched cancer free controls. With significant difference (p = 0.05) of genotype analysis further corresponding Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied for adjusting significant confounder variables. Haploview software (version 4.2) was used to perform pairwise Linkage Disequilibrium (LD) analysis. Age (p = 0.01), Habit of smoking (p = 0.05), tobacco consumption (p = 0.001) and diet (p = 0.02) were significantly differed between cases and controls. Both the MTRR substitution showed higher risk of developing urinary bladder cancer (p = <0.001), although this effect alters in multivariable logistic regression analysis in a protective association for both the substitution. No LD observed between the c.66A>G and c.524C>T substitutions. In conclusion, MTRR c.66A>G and c.524C>T substitutions showed a joint effect with the other associated risk factors. Further studies with a greater number of subjects of different ethnicity and polymorphisms are recommended for the better understanding urinary bladder cancer etiology and to screen the population who are at higher risk of developing urinary bladder cancer.

BACKGROUND: Severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is a significant public health problem in developing countries, including India, where a significant proportion of children suffer from malnutrition. OBJECTIVE: This research aims to investigate the factors contributing to severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Additionally, the study seeks to explore the relationship between micronutrient levels and pro-inflammatory cytokines in SAM children with and without clinical complications. Furthermore, the effectiveness of antibiotic treatment in SAM children without complications is evaluated. METHODS: The study involved three groups comprising 66 subjects each: a healthy control group, SAM children with complications, and SAM children without complications. Blood samples were collected, and various analyses were conducted, including biochemical, hematological, micronutrient, and pro-inflammatory marker quantification. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. RESULTS: The results indicate that the levels of IL-6, CRP, and TNF-α were significantly higher in the SAM group with complications compared to both the control group and the SAM group without complications. Zinc and copper levels were significantly lower in both SAM groups compared to the control group, and a negative correlation was observed between zinc levels and inflammatory markers. The study also assessed the efficacy of antibiotic treatment in SAM children without complications by comparing their weight, height, weight-for-height, and weight-for-age at baseline and after a 15-day follow-up period. Significant improvements in these parameters were observed in both the group receiving antibiotic treatment and the group not receiving antibiotic treatment. CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that a combination of antibiotic treatment and nutritional support can lead to significant clinical improvements in SAM children without complications. This study has important implications for the management and treatment of SAM in India and other developing countries.

INTRODUCTION: Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality in females. Decreased availability of Vitamin D within breast cells, contributed by deficiency of serum Vitamin D and polymorphisms of Vitamin D receptor genes are possible risk factors for breast cancer. OBJECTIVES: To study the association of FokI polymorphism of the Vitamin D Receptor gene with breast cancer in females and to study the levels of Vitamin D in breast cancer patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: VDR gene FokI genotyping was done by PCR-RFLP method and levels of serum Vitamin D were estimated by ELISA. Statistical analysis was done with SPSS v.21. RESULTS: Serum Vitamin D was significantly lower in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients than in healthy controls (P = 0.016). Females with serum Vitamin D levels in the highest quartile have a lesser risk of breast cancer than those with serum Vitamin D levels in the lowest quartile (O. R = 2.4421, C.I = 1.09-5.45, P = 0.029). The risk of developing breast cancer is higher in women with the polymorphic T allele for VDR FokI genotype (CT/TT) than those homozygous for the wild C allele (CC). (O.R. = 4.295, C.I. = 2.2110-8.3451, p-value = <0.0001). Levels of serum Vitamin D were significantly higher (p < 0.001) in ER + patients and significantly low in those presenting with higher stages of cancer (p = 0.009). CONCLUSIONS: FokI polymorphism of VDR gene and low circulating Vitamin D levels increase the risk of developing breast cancer in North Indian females. Serum Vitamin D can be used as a prognostic factor.

Typhoid remains one of the major serious health concerns for children in developing countries. With extremely drug-resistant cases emerging, preventative measures like sanitation and vaccination, including typhoid conjugate vaccines (TCV) remain the mainstay in its prevention and control. Different types of TCVs are being developed to meet the global demand. This report outlines the results from a study done to assess the immunogenicity and safety of Vi-Diphtheria toxoid (Vi-DT) TCV in Nepal. The study was a randomized, active-controlled, immunological non-inferiority and safety study. Eligible participants from Sunsari and Morang districts of eastern Nepal were randomized into 4 study groups (A-D) within 3 age strata (6 months to <2 years, 2 to <18 years, and 18 to 45 years). Groups A to C received a single dose (25 µg) of Vi-DT test vaccine from any of the 3 lots, while group D received the comparator, Typbar-TCV®, Vi-tetanus toxoid (Vi-TT) vaccine (25 µg) in 1:1:1:1 ratio and evaluated at 4 weeks postvaccination with 6 months follow-up. Amongst 400 randomized participants, anti-Vi-IgG seroconversion rates for all age strata in Vi-DT pooled groups (A+B+C) were 100.00% (97.5% CI 98.34-100.00) vs 98.99% (97.5% CI 93.99-99.85) in Vi-TT group (D) at 4 weeks. Comparable safety events were reported between the groups. Three serious adverse events (1 in Vi-DT; 2 in Vi-TT group) were reported during the 6 months follow-up, none being related to the investigational product. Thus, Vi-DT vaccine is safe, immunogenic, and immunologically non-inferior to Vi-TT when analyzed at 4 weeks postvaccination.

Foreign body aspiration in children, specifically sharp and metallic type, imposes a serious morbidity and mortality risk if intervention is delayed. The bronchoscopic removal of sharp metallic foreign bodies is technically challenging for the operating surgeon. We present a case of an 8-year-old girl who presented with an alleged history of aspiration of metallic, sharp and open safety pin 8 hours prior to presentation following which she developed throat pain and painful swallowing. X-ray of soft tissue neck showed a radio-opaque foreign body being lodged in the supraglottic area. She underwent emergency direct laryngoscopy-guided foreign body removal under general anesthesia. There was an open metallic sharp safety pin hinged over the inter-arytenoid region with its one end reaching sub-glottis and other end toward the hypopharynx. No post-operative complications occurred and patient was discharged on the third post-operative day.

Clinical findings of foreign body aspiration, generally, are subtle. Scrutinous clinical suspicion is always recommended. Here, we present a rare case of an adult male, who under the influence of alcohol had aspirated a row of his artificial denture without his conscience of where his denture got missing and presented to our outpatient department with non-specific symptoms. With clinical examination and advanced diagnostics, he was successfully managed with rigid bronchoscopy. With the advancement in diagnostic techniques and our widened knowledge of the condition, utmost early detection has been possible and our case report reinforces the need for a low threshold for foreign body aspiration suspicion, especially in adults with dentures, and the use of rigid bronchoscopy as a plausible tool for the prompt management of the aspiration. Redox active electrolyte supercapacitors differ significantly from the conventional electrolytes based storage devices but face a long term stability issue which requires a different approach while designing the systems. Here, we show the change in layered double hydroxides (LDHs) systems with rare earth elements (lanthanum) can drastically influence the stability of two dimensional LDH systems in redox electrolyte. We find that the choice of rare earth element (lanthanum) having magnetic properties and higher thermal and chemical stability has a profound effect on the stability of La-Co LDHs electrode in redox electrolyte. The fabricated hybrid device with rare earth based positive electrode and carbon as negative electrode having redox electrolyte leads to long stable high volumetric/gravimetric capacity at high discharge rate, demonstrates the importance of considering the rare earth elements while designing the LDH systems for redox active supercapacitor development.

In the present study, a combination of a hydrothermal route and a topotaxial conversion reaction has been used to grow a cadmium sulfide-copper sulfide (CdS-Cu(x)S) single nanorod heterojunction. The J-V characteristics of the CdS nanorods show Shockley behaviour consistent with the energy band diagram of the platinum conducting atomic force microscope (CAFM) probe-CdS nanorod combination. The photovoltaic response measured on the CdS-Cu(x)S nanorods using a CAFM probe shows the formation of a heterojunction with an open circuit voltage of 320 mV, a short circuit current density of 5.5 mA cm⁻² and a crossover of dark and light J-V curves related to the photoconductivity of the interfacial CdS layer. The lengthwise heterojunction fabricated in the present study has many potential advantages in comparison to other single nanorod junctions.

A young girl inhaled a pointed iron nail into the right main bronchus. However, both rigid bronchoscopy and oesophagoscopy failed to locate the nail. Surprisingly, it was detected in the abdomen by C-arm and was expelled uneventfully while defecating two days later.

The novel coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome-CoV-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for COVID-19 infection. The COVID-19 pandemic represents one of the worst global threats in the 21st century since World War II. This pandemic has led to a worldwide economic recession and crisis due to lockdown. Biomedical researchers, pharmaceutical companies, and premier institutes throughout the world are claiming that new clinical trials are in progress. During the severe phase of this disease, mechanical ventilators are used to assist in the management of outcomes; however, their use can lead to the development of pneumonia. In this context, mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes can serve as an immunomodulation treatment for COVID-19 patients. Exosomes possess anti-inflammatory, pro-angiogenic, and immunomodulatory properties that can be explored in an effort to improve the outcomes of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients. Currently, only one ongoing clinical trial (NCT04276987) is specifically exploring the use of MSC-derived exosomes as a therapy to treat SARS-CoV-2-associated pneumonia. The purpose of this review is to provide insights of using exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells in management of the co-morbidities associated with SARS-CoV-2-infected persons in direction of improving their health outcome. There is limited knowledge of using exosomes in SARS-CoV-2; the clinicians and researchers should exploit exosomes as therapeutic regime.

BACKGROUND: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) also referred as metabolic as metabolic (dysfunction) associated fatty liver disease. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a major cause in progression of NAFLD and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The aim of the present study is to assess the activity of liver enzymes in T2DM in North Indian population. METHOD: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study clinic-based study in patients with T2DM. A total of 612 participants (226 healthy controls and 386 T2DM) were recruited. Body mass index (BMI), activity of liver enzymes including alanine and aspartate aminotransferase (ALT, AST) along with alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was measured. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) along with total protein (TP) and albumin were also measured. Quantitative variables were expressed as mean ± SD, while qualitative variables as frequencies (%). Pearson/Spearman correlation test, unpaired t-test, Chi-squared test was used to assess the correlation, association and significant differences between study groups respectively. A P-value of < .05 was set as statistically significant. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) ® Statistics, version 23 (IBM SPSS Statistics, Armonk, NY) was used to for analysis of data. RESULTS: The study was conducted on 386 T2DM patients, and out of 386 patients, 139 (36.01%) were male (P < .000) and 247 (63.98%) were female. The mean age of the T2DM patients was 46.4 ± 13.6 years, while healthy individuals have mean age of 39.2 ± 12.0 years (P < .000). It was observed that the activity of AST in T2DM is comparable with the healthy persons (P = .060). While the level of ALT, total bilirubin and ALP in T2DM is significantly higher compared to healthy control (P < .000). On average, 62.53% of T2DM subjects and 32% of participants of healthy subjects had abnormal liver enzymes activity. CONCLUSION: The present study has revealed widely co-existent derangements in liver function tests (LFTs) in the diabetic population of North India. A detailed workup in such patients may be helpful in timely diagnosis and treatment. Moreover, early detection and management of abnormal liver parameters in T2DM would help minimize liver-related morbidity and mortality.

INTRODUCTION: Tonsillectomy is one of the common ENT surgical procedures. Post-tonsillectomy haemorrhage remains a frequent complication which can be potentially life-threatening. The objective of the present study was to calculate the prevalence of haemorrhage following a tonsillectomy at a tertiary care centre. METHODS: It was a descriptive cross-sectional study performed by medical chart review of the patients who underwent tonsillectomy from January 2018 to December 2019 at the department of ENT- Head and Neck Surgery of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Ethical approval was obtained from the institutional review committee (Ref:-282(6-11) E2 076/077). Convenient sampling method was used. All patients of any age who had tonsillectomy for recurrent tonsillitis or tonsillar hypertrophy with or without obstructive sleep apnoea and no missing information on chart review were included in the study. Data were entered in MS-Excel 2007 and analyzed in rate and percentage. RESULTS: Ten (5.18%) out of a total of 193 patients who underwent tonsillectomy had a post tonsillectomy haemorrhage. All 10 (100%) were adults patients, operated for recurrent tonsillitis, and used electrocautery. It was common in male patients 7 (70%). All of the haemorrhages was between a third and sixth postoperative day and were mild in severity. CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of post-tonsillectomy haemorrhage was high at our centre during the study period of two years. It was common in adults, males and surgery done for recurrent tonsillitis using electrocauterization.

SARS-CoV-2-infected patients are reported to show immunocompromised behavior that gives rise to a wide variety of complications due to impaired innate immune response, cytokine storm, and thrombo-inflammation. Prolonged use of steroids, diabetes mellitus, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) are some of the factors responsible for the growth of Mucorales in such immunocompromised patients and, thus, can lead to a life-threatening condition referred to as mucormycosis. Therefore, an early diagnosis and cell-based management cosis is the need of the hour to help affected patients overcome this severe condition. In addition, extended exposure to antifungal drugs/therapeutics is found to initiate hormonal and neurological complications. More recently, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been used to exhibit immunomodulatory function and proven to be beneficial in a clinical cell-based regenerative approach. The immunomodulation ability of MSCs in mucormycosis patient boosts the immunity by the release of chemotactic proteins. MSC-based therapy in mucormycosis along with the combination of short-term antifungal drugs can be utilized as a prospective approach for mucormycosis treatment with promising outcomes. However, preclinical and in mucormyIn mucormycosis, the hyphae of clinical trials are needed to establish the precise mechanism of MSCs in mucormycosis treatment.

Exosomes are nano-vesicles of endosomal origin inherited with characteristics of drug delivery and cargo loading. Exosomes offer a diverse range of opportunities that can be exploited in the treatment of various diseases post-functionalization. This membrane engineering is recently being used in the management of bacteria-associated diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Diabetes mellitus (DM) is among the most crippling disease of society with a large share of its imposing economic burden. DM in a chronic state is associated with the development of micro- and macrovascular complications. DFU is among the diabetic microvascular complications with the consequent occurrence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)-derived exosomes post-tailoring hold promise to accelerate the diabetic wound repair in DFU associated with bacterial inhabitant. These exosomes promote the antibacterial properties with regenerative activity by loading bioactive molecules like growth factors, nucleic acids, and proteins, and non-bioactive substances like antibiotics. Functionalization of MSC-derived exosomes is mediated by various physical, chemical, and biological processes that effectively load the desired cargo into the exosomes for targeted delivery at specific bacterial DFUs and wound. The present study focused on the application of the cargo-loaded exosomes in the treatment of DFU and also emphasizes the different approaches for loading the desired cargo/drug inside exosomes. However, more studies and clinical trials are needed in the domain to explore this membrane engineering.
