Tumor-derived exosomes (TDEs) induced extracellular microenvironment has recently been validated to be critical for tumor progression and metastasis, however, remodeling it for oncotherapy still remains a major challenge due to difficulty in regulation of TDEs secretion. Herein, the supramolecular chiral nanofibers, composed of L/D -phenylalanine derivates (L/D-Phe) and linear hyaluronic acid (HA), are successfully employed to construct TDEs induced anti-tumor extracellular microenvironment. The left-handed L-Phe @HA nanofibers significantly inhibit TDEs secretion into extracellular microenvironment, which results in suppression of tumor proliferation and metastasis in vitro and vivo. Biological assays and theoretical modeling reveal that these results are mainly attributed to strong adsorption of the key exosomes transporters (Ras-related protein Rab-27A and synaptosome-associated protein 23) on left-handed L-Phe @HA nanofibers via enhanced stereoselective interaction, leading to degradation and phosphorylated dropping of exosomes transporters. Subsequently, transfer function of exosomes transporters is limited, which causes remarkable inhibition of TDEs secretion. These findings provide a promising novel insight of chiral functional materials to establish an anti-tumor extracellular microenvironment via regulation of TDEs secretion.

Many clinical studies have demonstrated a correlation between psoriasis vulgaris and dementia, yet this correlation remains controversial. Our study employed the Mendelian randomization (MR) method to investigate the causal relationship between psoriasis vulgaris and dementia. Data were obtained from the summary statistics of the genome-wide association studies from IEU-OpenGWAS project database. In univariate Mendelian randomization (UVMR) analysis, psoriasis vulgaris was used as exposure. Alzheimer disease (AD), vascular dementia (VaD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) served as the outcomes. In multivariate Mendelian randomization (MVMR) analysis, VaD served as the outcome. The first MVMR analysis used psoriasis vulgaris, mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW) and platelet count (PLT) as exposures. The second MVMR analysis used psoriasis vulgaris, vitamin D level and 25 hydroxyvitamin D level as exposures. The main analysis employed the inverse variance weighted method, and the outcomes were evaluated by odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI). In UVMR analysis, the results depicted that psoriasis vulgaris was associated with VaD (OR: 0.903, 95% CI: 0.818-0.996, p = 0.041). The results revealed insignificant associations between psoriasis vulgaris and other dementia types. After adjusting the effects of MPV, PDW and PLT in MVMR analysis, the association between psoriasis vulgaris and VaD was no longer significant (p = 0.164). Similarly, after adjusting the effects of vitamin D level and 25 hydroxyvitamin D level in MVMR analysis, the association between psoriasis vulgaris and VaD was also no longer significant (p = 0.533). Our study suggests that psoriasis vulgaris may potentially decrease VaD incidence. However, the causal association between psoriasis vulgaris and VaD may be impeded by platelet-related indices, vitamin D level and 25 hydroxyvitamin D level.

INTRODUCTION: T cells play a critical role in inflammatory diseases. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of Majie cataplasm (MJC) on asthma and to propose a possible mechanism involved in this process. METHODS: Airway inflammation, infiltration of inflammatory cells, levels of interleukin (IL)-4, IL-10, IL-17, and interferon (IFN)-γ, levels of Th2, Treg, Th17, and Th1 cells, and the expressions of IL-4, IL-10, IL-17, IFN-γ, GATA binding protein 3 (GATA-3), Foxp3, RAR-related orphan receptor gamma (RORγt), and T-bet were detected. RESULT: MJC treatment reduced lung airway resistance and inflammatory infiltration in lung tissues. MJC treatment also reduced the numbers of eosinophils and neutrophils in the blood and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). The levels of IL-4 and IL-17 in the blood, BALF, and lungs were suppressed by MJC, and IFN-γ and IL-10 were increased. Furthermore, MJC suppressed the percentage of Th2 and Th17 and increased the percentage of Th1 and Treg in spleen cells. In addition, MJC can inhibit asthma by increasing expressions of IFN-γ, IL-10, T-bet, and Foxp3, as well as decreasing expressions of IL-4, IL-17, GATA-3, and RORγt. CONCLUSION: MJC may improve airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation by regulating Th1/Th2/Treg/Th17 balance in ovalbumin-induced rats. And MJC may be a new source of anti-asthma drugs.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Vascular dementia (VaD) is the second most prevalent type of dementia after Alzheimer's disease.Hypercholesterolemia may increase the risk of dementia, but the association between cholesterol and cognitive function is very complex. From the perspective of peripheral and brain cholesterol, we review the relationship between hypercholesterolemia and increased risk of VaD and how the use of lipid-lowering therapies affects cognition. RECENT FINDINGS: Epidemiologic studies show since 1980, non-HDL-C levels of individuals has increased rapidly in Asian countries.The study has suggested that vascular risk factors increase the risk of VaD, such as disordered lipid metabolism. Dyslipidemia has been found to interact with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion to promote inflammation resulting in cognitive dysfunction in the brain.Hypercholesterolemia may be a risk factor for VaD. Inflammation could potentially serve as a link between hypercholesterolemia and VaD. Additionally, the potential impact of lipid-lowering therapy on cognitive function is also worth considering. Finding strategies to prevent and treat VaD is critical given the aging of the population to lessen the load on society. Currently, controlling underlying vascular risk factors is considered one of the most effective methods of preventing VaD. Understanding the relationship between abnormal cholesterol levels and VaD, as well as discovering potential serum biomarkers, is important for the early prevention and treatment of VaD.

Primary microcephaly is characterized by a head circumference prenatally or at birth that falls below three standard deviations from age-, ethnic-, and sex-specific norms. Genetic defects are one of the underlying causes of primary microcephaly. Since 2014, five variants of the SASS6 gene have been identified as the cause of MCPH 14 in three reported families. In this study, we present the genetic findings of members of a nonconsanguineous Chinese couple with a history of microcephaly and fetal growth restriction (FGR) during their first pregnancy. Utilizing trio whole-exome sequencing, we identified compound heterozygous variants involving a frameshift NM_194292.3:c.450_453del p.(Lys150AsnfsTer7) variant and a splice region NM_194292.3:c.1674+3A>G variant within the SASS6 gene in the affected fetus. Moreover, reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction from RNA of the mother's peripheral blood leukocytes revealed that the c.1674+3A>G variant led to the skipping of exon 14 and an inframe deletion. To the best of our knowledge, the association between FGR and SASS6-related microcephaly has not been reported, and our findings confirm the pivotal role of SASS6 in microcephaly pathogenesis and reveal an expanded view of the phenotype and mutation spectrum associated with this gene.

The transformation of toxic arsine (AsH3) gas into valuable elemental arsenic (As0) from industrial exhaust gases is important for achieving sustainable development goals. Although advanced arsenic removal catalysts can improve the removal efficiency of AsH3, toxic arsenic oxides generated during this process have not received adequate attention. In light of this, a novel approach for obtaining stable As0 products was proposed by performing controlled moderate oxidation. We designed a tailored Ni-based catalyst through an acid etching approach to alter interactions between Ni and NaY. As a result, the 1Ni/NaY-H catalyst yielded an unprecedented proportion of As0 as the major product (65%), which is superior to those of other reported catalysts that only produced arsenic oxides. Density functional theory calculations clarified that Ni species changed the electronic structure of oxygen atoms, and the formed [NiIII-OH (µ-O)] active centers facilitated the adsorption of AsH2*, AsH*, and As* reaction intermediates for As-H bond cleavage, thereby decreasing the direct reactivity of oxygen with the arsenic intermediates. This work presents pioneering insights into inhibiting excessive oxidation during AsH3 removal, demonstrating potential environmental applications for recovery of As0 from toxic AsH3.

Economic and environmentally friendly strategies are needed to promote the bifunctional catalytic removal of carbonyl sulfide (COS) by hydrolysis and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) by oxidation. N doping is considered to be an effective strategy, but the essential and intrinsic role of N dopants in catalysts is still not well understood. Herein, the conjugation of urea and biochar during Cu/biochar annealing produced pyridine N, which increased the combined COS/H2S capacity of the catalyst from 260.7 to 374.8 mg·g-1 and enhanced the turnover frequency of H2S from 2.50 × 10-4 to 5.35 × 10-4 s-1. The nucleophilic nature of pyridine N enhances the moderate basic sites of the catalyst, enabling the attack of protons and strong H2O dissociation. Moreover, pyridine N also forms cavity sites that anchor CuO, improving Cu dispersion and generating more reactive oxygen species. By providing original insight into the pyridine N-induced bifunctional catalytic removal of COS/H2S in a slightly oxygenated and humid atmosphere, this study offers valuable guidance for further C═S and C-S bond-breaking in the degradation of sulfur-containing pollutants.

Because ozone (O3) is a significant air pollutant, advanced O3 elimination technologies, particularly those under high-humidity conditions, have become an essential research focus. In this study, a nickel-iron layered double hydroxide (NiFe-LDH) was modified via intercalation with octanoate to develop an effective hydrophobic catalyst (NiFe-OAa-LDH) for O3 decomposition. The NiFe-OAa-LDH catalyst sustained its O3 decomposition rate of >98% for 48 h under conditions of 90% relative humidity, 840 L/(g·h) space velocity, and 100 ppm inlet O3 concentration. Moreover, it maintained a decomposition rate of 90% even when tested at a higher airflow rate of 2500 L/(g·h). Based on the changes induced by the Ni-OII to Ni-OIII bonds in NiFe-OAa-LDH during O3 treatment, catalytic O3 decomposition was proposed to occur in two stages. The first stage involved the reaction between the hydroxyl groups and O3, leading to the breakage of the O-H bonds, formation of NiOOH, and structural changes in the catalyst. This transformation resulted in the formation of abundant and stable hydrogen vacancies. According to density functional theory calculations, O3 can be effectively decomposed at the hydrogen vacancies with a low energy barrier during the second stage. This study provides new insights into O3 decomposition.

BACKGROUND: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a highly effective treatment for depressive disorder. However, the use of ECT is limited by its cognitive side effects (CSEs), and no specific intervention has been developed to address this problem. As transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a safe and useful tool for improving cognitive function, the main objective of this study was to explore the ability to use tDCS after ECT to ameliorate the cognitive side effects. METHODS: 60 eligible participants will be recruited within two days after completing ECT course and randomly assigned to receive either active or sham stimulation in a blinded, parallel-design trial and continue their usual pharmacotherapy. The tDCS protocol consists of 30-min sessions at 2 mA, 5 times per week for 2 consecutive weeks, applied through 15-cm2 electrodes. An anode will be placed over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), and a cathode will be placed over the right supraorbital cortex. Cognitive function and depressive symptoms will be assessed before the first stimulation (T0), after the final stimulation (T1), 2 weeks after the final stimulation (T2), and 4 weeks after the final stimulation (T3) using the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB). DISCUSSION: We describe a novel clinical trial to explore whether the administration of tDCS after completing ECT course can accelerates recovery from the CSEs. We hypothesized that the active group would recover faster from the CSEs and be superior to the sham group. If our hypothesis is supported, the use of tDCS could benefit eligible patients who are reluctant to receive ECT and reduce the risk of self-inflicted or suicide due to delays in treatment. TRIAL REGISTRATION DETAILS: The trial protocol is registered with https://www.chictr.org.cn/ under protocol registration number ChiCTR2300071147 (date of registration: 05.06.2023). Recruitment will start in November 2023.

MAIN CONCLUSION: Identification of PbLTP genes in pear and functional characterization of PbLTP4 in the transport of suberin monomers of russet skin formation. Non-specific lipid-transfer protein (nsLTP) is an abundant and diverse alkaline small molecule protein in the plant kingdom with complex and diverse biophysiological functions, such as transfer of phospholipids, reproductive development, pathogen defence and abiotic stress response. Up to now, only a tiny fraction of nsLTPs have been functionally identified, and the distribution of nsLTPs in pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) (PbLTPs) has not been fully characterized. In this study, the genome-wide analysis of the nsLTP gene family in the pear genome identified 67 PbLTP proteins, which could be divided into six types (1, 2, C, D, E, and G). Similar intron/exon structural patterns were observed in the same type, strongly supporting their close evolutionary relationship. In addition, PbLTP4 was highly expressed in russet pear skin compared with green skin, which was located in the plasma membrane. Coexpression network analysis showed that PbLTP4 closely related to suberin biosynthetic genes. The biological function of PbLTP4 in promoting suberification has been demonstrated by overexpression in Arabidopsis. Identification of suberin monomers showed that PbLTP4 promotes suberification by regulating 9,12-octadecadienoic acid and hexadecanoic acid transport. These results provide helpful insights into the characteristics of PbLTP genes and their biological function in the transport of suberin monomers of russet skin formation.

Being able to precisely manipulate both the morphology and chiroptical signals of supramolecular assemblies will help to better understand the natural biological self-assembly mechanism. Two simple l/d-phenylalanine-based derivatives (L/DPFM) have been designed, and their solvent-dependent morphology evolutions are illustrated. It was found that, as the content of H2 O in aqueous ethanol solutions was increased, LPFM self-assembles first into right-handed nanofibers, then flat fibrous structures, and finally inversed left-handed nanofibers. Assemblies in ethanol and H2 O exhibit opposite conformations and circular dichroism (CD) signals even though they are constructed from the same molecules. Thus, the morphology-dependent cell adhesion and proliferation behaviors are further characterized. Left-handed nanofibers are found to be more favorable for cell adhesion than right-handed nanostructures. Quantitative AFM analysis showed that the L929 cell adhesion force on left-handed LPFM fibers is much higher than that on structures with inversed handedness. Moreover, the value of cell Young's modulus is lower for left-handed nanofibrous films, which indicates better flexibility. The difference in cell-substrate interactions might lead to different effects on cell behavior.

CuX/TiO2 adsorbents with CuO as the active component were prepared via a simple impregnation method for efficient purification of phosphine (PH3) under the conditions of low temperatures (90 °C) and low oxygen concentration (1%). The PH3 breakthrough capacity of optimal adsorbent (Cu30/TiO2) is 136.2 mg(PH3)·gsorbent-1, and the excellent dephosphorization performance is mainly attributed to its abundant sur face-active oxygen and alkaline sites, large specific surface area, and strong interaction between CuO and the support TiO2. Surprisingly, CuO is converted to Cu3P after the dephosphorization by CuX/TiO2. Since Cu3P is a P-type semiconductor with high added value, the deactivated adsorbent (Cu3P/TiO2) is an efficient heterostructure photocatalyst for photocatalytic removal of Hg0 (gas) with the Hg0 removal performance of 92.64% under visible light. This study provides a feasible strategy for the efficient removal and resource conversion of PH3 under low-temperature conditions and the alleviation of the environmental risk of secondary pollution.

BACKGROUND: Subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord (SCD) is mainly caused by deficiency of Vitamin B12 and characterized by deep hypoesthesia, sensory ataxia and spasmodic paralysis of lower limbs. SCD often accompanies with megaloblastic anemia. Psychiatric symptoms could be the initial manifestations of SCD by lack of Vitamin B12, but are rarely considered secondary to physical discomfort and psychological factors in SCD. Additionally, treatment experience for psychiatric symptoms in SCD remains little reported. CASE REPORT: We presented a case of a 37-year-old female who complained of being persecuted and controlled for one week and thus was admitted to the psychiatry department. Before that, she had went through persistent paresthesia and numbness of her lower extremities for two-month. Low Vitamin B12 level and hemoglobin concentration, neurologic symptoms and bone marrow smear results supported the clinical diagnosis of SCD and megaloblastic anemia. With supplementation of Vitamin B12 and blood transfusion and short-term prescription of antipsychotics and antidepressants, physical symptoms were improved and psychological symptoms disappeared within 2 weeks. CONCLUSIONS: Psychiatric symptoms of SCD could be generated from lack of Vitamin B12, anemia and neurologic symptoms, where short-term use of antipsychotics and antidepressants may be effective.

BACKGROUND: TMVP1 is a novel tumor targeting polypeptide screened by our laboratory with a core sequence of five amino acids LARGR. It specially binds to vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3 (VEGFR-3), which is mainly expressed on neo-lymphatic vessels in sentinel lymph node (SLN) with tumor metastasis in adults. Here, we prepared a targeted nanoprobe using TMVP1-modified nanomaterials for tumor metastasis SLN imaging. RESULTS: In this study, TMVP1-modified polymer nanomaterials were loaded with the near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dye, indocyanine green (ICG), to prepare a molecular imaging TMVP1-ICG nanoparticles (NPs) to identify tumor metastasis in SLN at molecular level. TMVP1-ICG-NPs were successfully prepared using the nano-precipitation method. The particle diameter, morphology, drug encapsulation efficiency, UV absorption spectrum, cytotoxicity, safety, and pharmacokinetic properties were determined. The TMVP1-ICG-NPs had a diameter of approximately 130 nm and an ICG loading rate of 70%. In vitro cell experiments and in vivo mouse experiments confirmed that TMVP1-ICG-NPs have good targeting ability to tumors in situ and to SLN with tumor metastasis by binding to VEGFR-3. Effective photothermal therapy (PTT) with TMVP1-ICG-NPs was confirmed in vitro and in vivo. As expected, TMVP1-ICG-NPs improved ICG blood stability, targeted tumor metastasis to SLN, and enhanced PTT/photodynamic (PDT) therapy, without obvious cytotoxicity, making it a promising theranostic nanomedicine. CONCLUSION: TMVP1-ICG-NPs identified SLN with tumor metastasis and were used to perform imaging-guided PTT, which makes it a promising strategy for providing real-time NIR fluorescence imaging and intraoperative PTT for patients with SLN metastasis.

A hyper-redundant flexible manipulator is characterized by high degree(s) of freedom (DoF), flexibility, and environmental adaptability. It has been used for missions in complex and unknown spaces, such as debris rescue and pipeline inspection, where the manipulator is not intelligent enough to face complex situations. Therefore, human intervention is required to assist in decision-making and control. In this paper, we designed an interactive navigation method based on mixed reality (MR) of a hyper-redundant flexible manipulator in an unknown space. A novel teleoperation system frame is put forward. An MR-based interface was developed to provide a virtual model of the remote workspace and virtual interactive interface, allowing the operator to observe the real-time situation from a third perspective and issue commands to the manipulator. As for environmental modeling, a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm based on an RGB-D camera is applied. Additionally, a path-finding and obstacle avoidance method based on artificial potential field (APF) is introduced to ensure that the manipulator can move automatically under the artificial command in the remote space without collision. The results of the simulations and experiments validate that the system exhibits good real-time performance, accuracy, security, and user-friendliness.

Although many empirical studies have aimed to find variances in positive mental health among different groups and the relationship between mental health and other variables, few studies examined the developmental trend of mental health levels and the cross-lagged relationship between self-efficacy, social rhythm, and mental health. Furthermore, few of them explored the interrelationship between self-efficacy and social rhythm among college students over time. This study thus aimed to clarify the longitudinal cross-lagged relationship between self-efficacy, social rhythm, and positive mental health among college students. A total of 764 students (627 females, mean age 21.03 ± 0.84 years at T1) participated in a 3-year-long study (T1, T2, T3) and were asked to complete the General Self-Efficacy, the Brief Social Rhythm, and the Positive Mental Health Scales. The results indicate that the development of positive mental health among college students showed an upward trend during those 3 years. There was a significant relationship between positive mental health, social rhythm, and self-efficacy. Positive mental health and social rhythm significantly predicted self-efficacy in the following year. Positive mental health in T2 could predict both T3 social rhythm marginally and T3 self-efficacy significantly. However, T1 social rhythm was not indirectly associated with T3 mental health via T2 self-efficacy, and T1 self-efficacy was not indirectly associated with T3 mental health via T2 social rhythm. This finding clarified the relationship between positive mental health, self-efficacy, and social rhythm, and provided evidence that positive mental health is the basis for self-efficacy and social rhythm among young adults. Therefore, school psychologists in universities should pay close attention to the positive mental health of young adults to form high levels of self-efficacy and social rhythm.

BACKGROUND: Lung cancer was often accompanied by depression and anxiety. Nowadays, most investigations for depression and anxiety were concentrated in western medical hospitals, while few related studies have been carried out in the tradition Chinese medicine (TCM) ward. It was necessary to understand the proportion and related factors of depression and anxiety in the inpatients with lung cancer in TCM hospital. METHODS: This study adopted cross-sectional research method, which enrolled a total of 222 inpatients with lung cancer in TCM hospital. PHQ-9 and GAD-7 scales were used to assess depression and anxiety for the inpatients, respectively. Demographic and clinical data were also collected. Statistical methods of the univariate analysis and the multivariate logistic regression model were used. RESULTS: The proportion of depression and anxiety in the inpatients with lung cancer were 58.1% and 34.2%, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis prompted that the common related factor of depression and anxiety was the symptom of insomnia(odds ratio [OR] 3.274, 95%CI 1.723-6.219; OR 2.201, 95%CI 1.132-4.277). Constipation and gender were the two anther-related factors of depression(OR 1.458, 95%CI 0.372-1.606; OR 1.298, 95%CI 0.151-1.588). CONCLUSION: Depression and anxiety were common for the inpatients with lung cancer in TCM hospital. Gender, insomnia, and constipation were related factors for depression, and insomnia was related factor for anxiety. Therefore, medical workers should pay close attention to the emotional changes of these high-risk patients and intervene the symptoms as early as possible.

Soft joint shape measurement is challenging because, in most cases, it relies solely on internal sensors. Existing shape estimation methods commonly take measurements at discrete points and utilize curve-fitting schemes, which are inefficient for complex joint shapes that require continuous measurements. Therefore joint shape measurement sensors rely on the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) due to its sensitivity, immunity to electromagnetic interference, and flexibility. Nevertheless, FBG demodulation is still an open research case. Hence, we propose a shape measurement device appropriate for FBG-based continuous measurements that employs a sensor with only three FBGs thrusting inside the soft joint to measure its 3D shape. Moreover, we develop a simple demodulating system exploiting the FBG's filter overlapping properties and design a calibrating process for FBG signals. Soft joint shape measurement experiments highlight our method's effectiveness, providing a relative error within 0.7%. Further tests involving continuum robot measurement reveal that the achieved precision is of the same level as a motion-capturing system.

A metabolic illness known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), affects more than one-quarter of the world's population. Bile acids (BAs), as detergents involved in lipid digestion, show an abnormal metabolism in patients with NAFLD. However, BAs can affect other organs as well, such as the brain, where it has a neuroprotective effect. According to a series of studies, brain disorders may be extrahepatic manifestations of NAFLD, such as depression, changes to the cerebrovascular system, and worsening cognitive ability. Consequently, we propose that NAFLD affects the development of brain disease, through the bile acid signaling pathway. Through direct or indirect channels, BAs can send messages to the brain. Some BAs may operate directly on the central Farnesoid X receptor (FXR) and the G protein bile acid-activated receptor 1 (GPBAR1) by overcoming the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Furthermore, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 19 are released from the intestine FXR and GPBAR1 receptors, upon activation, both of which send signals to the brain. Inflammatory, systemic metabolic disorders in the liver and brain are regulated by the bile acid-activated receptors FXR and GPBAR1, which are potential therapeutic targets. From a bile acid viewpoint, we examine the bile acid signaling changes in NAFLD and brain disease. We also recommend the development of dual GPBAR1/FXR ligands to reduce side effects and manage NAFLD and brain disease efficiently.

Insertion/deletion polymorphism (InDel) genetic markers refer to insertion or deletion of DNA fragments into genomic DNA, which have advantages in the identification of degraded samples. In this study, we independently screened 66 highly polymorphic InDel markers from the dbSNP database to establish a multiplex PCR system for forensic DNA identification using next-generation sequencing system (66-plex InDels). We assessed the population genetic data among 251 Chinese Han population using this system and evaluated their potential forensic application. The results showed that all 66 InDel loci conformed to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P>0.000 758), and all the pairwise InDel loci were in linkage equilibrium after Bonferroni correction. The mean observed heterozygosity (Ho) was 0.482, the mean expected heterozygosity (He) was 0.483,the mean discrimination power (DP) was 0.612, the mean polymorphism information content (PIC) was 0.365, the total discrimination power (TDP) reached 0.999 999 999 999 999 999 999 999 999 428 18. The cumulative power of exclusion for 66 InDel loci was 0.999 739 in duo cases (CPEduo) and was 0.999 999 999 417 in trios cases (CPEtrio). The results show that the 66 InDel loci have high genetic polymorphisms in the Chinese Han population and can be used independently for forensic DNA identification and paternity testing.
