BACKGROUND: Gastric cancer is one of the global health concerns. A series of studies on the stomach have confirmed the role of the microbiome in shaping gastrointestinal diseases. Delineation of microbiome signatures to distinguish chronic gastritis from gastric cancer will provide a non-invasive preventative and treatment strategy. In this study, we performed whole metagenome shotgun sequencing of fecal samples to enhance the detection of rare bacterial species and increase genome sequence coverage. Additionally, we employed multiple bioinformatics approaches to investigate the potential targets of the microbiome as an indicator of differentiating gastric cancer from chronic gastritis. RESULTS: A total of 65 patients were enrolled, comprising 33 individuals with chronic gastritis and 32 with gastric cancer. Within each group, the chronic gastritis group was sub-grouped into intestinal metaplasia (n = 15) and non-intestinal metaplasia (n = 18); the gastric cancer group, early stage (stages 1 and 2, n = 13) and late stage (stages 3 and 4, n = 19) cancer. No significant differences in alpha and beta diversities were detected among the patient groups. However, in a two-group univariate comparison, higher Fusobacteria abundance was identified in phylum; Fusobacteria presented higher abundance in gastric cancer (LDA scored 4.27, q = 0.041 in LEfSe). Age and sex-adjusted MaAsLin and Random Forest variable of importance (VIMP) analysis in species provided meaningful features; Bacteria_caccae was the most contributing species toward gastric cancer and late-stage cancer (beta:2.43, se:0.891, p:0.008, VIMP score:2.543). In contrast, Bifidobacterium_longum significantly contributed to chronic gastritis (beta:-1.8, se:0.699, p:0.009, VIMP score:1.988). Age, sex, and BMI-adjusted MasAsLin on metabolic pathway analysis showed that GLCMANNANAUT-PWY degradation was higher in gastric cancer and one of the contributing species was Fusobacterium_varium. CONCLUSION: Microbiomes belonging to the pathogenic phylum Fusobacteria and species Bacteroides_caccae and Streptococcus_anginosus can be significant targets for monitoring the progression of gastric cancer. Whereas Bifidobacterium_longum and Lachnospiraceae_bacterium_5_1_63FAA might be protection biomarkers against gastric cancer.

BACKGROUND: Patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) may not always receive resection despite the possible achievement of a pathologic complete response (pCR) being associated with superior survival benefit. We aimed to compare outcomes among ESCC patients with or without pCR and those refusing surgery. METHODS: In total, 111 medically operable, non-cervical ESCC patients after the same protocol of nCRT (platinum/5-fluorouracil plus radiation 50Gy) were prospectively enrolled between 2011 and 2021. Eighty-three of them underwent esophagectomy comprising pCR (n = 32) and non-pCR (n = 51), while 28 operable patients declined surgery (refusal-of-surgery group). Predictors and survival data were analyzed. RESULTS: In terms of esophagectomy, 38.5% (32/83) patients achieved pCR. The pCR group exhibited better pretreatment performance status than the non-pCR group (adjusted odds ratio: 0.11, 95% confidence interval: 0.03-0.58; p = 0.01). Among pCR, non-pCR, and refusal-of-surgery groups, the 5-year overall survival (OS) rates were 56%, 29% and 50% (p = 0.08) and progression-free survival (PFS) rates were 52%, 28% and 36% (p = 0.07) respectively. The pCR group had significantly better OS and PFS than the non-PCR group (adjusted hazard ratio: 2.33 and 1.93, p = 0.02 and 0.049 respectively) but not the refusal-of-surgery group. CONCLUSION: Better pretreatment performance status is associated with higher chance of pCR. Consistent with previous studies, we found attainment of pCR confers the best OS and PFS. Suboptimal OS in the refusal-of-surgery group reflects some of them would have residual disease in addition to complete remission. Further studies are needed to identify prognostic factors of pCR to select candidates who could validly decline esophagectomy.

BACKGROUND: Chemoradiotherapy (CRT), which might affect the autonomic system, is the mainstay therapy for advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Autonomic dysfunction has been found to possibly lead to cancer mortality in those with elevated resting heart rates (RHR). Skin sympathetic nerve activity (SKNA) is a new method of stimulating electrical signals in skin to evaluate autonomic function from sympathetic tone. In this study, we investigated the association between changes in RHR and autonomic function and ESCC mortality. METHODS: Thirty-nine stage II-IV ESCC patients receiving CRT between March 2019 and November 2020 were prospectively enrolled and carefully selected, followed up and received the same meticulous supportive care. Serial RHR was recorded every two weeks from before CRT to eight weeks after CRT and average SKNA were recorded before and four weeks after CRT. All-cause mortality was defined as primary outcome. RESULTS: We found the RHR of ESCC patients to be significantly elevated and peaking at four weeks after CRT (p < 0.001) and then to gradually decrease. Those with an elevated RHR above the cutoff level (18 beat-per-minute) at eight weeks after CRT had worse overall survival. In addition, those with higher baseline sympathetic tone (average SKNA ≥ 0.86 µV) also had poor outcome. CONCLUSIONS: Increased pre-treatment sympathetic tone and elevated RHR after CRT are alarm signs of poor ESCC outcome. Further exploration of the mechanisms underlying these associations could potentially lead to intervention strategies for reducing mortality. BACKGROUND & AIMS: Esophageal neuroendocrine tumors (NET) are very rare and mostly carcinomic, carrying poor prognosis. There is still no guideline or consensus on the treatment for esophageal NET. METHODS: Patients with histologically-proven esophageal neuroendocrine tumor were recruited from 9 hospitals in Taiwan between 2002 and 2017. Clinical, laboratory, radiological, endoscopic, pathological data, treatment strategies, follow-up periods, and survivals were collected retrospectively. RESULTS: In total, 39 esophageal NET were analyzed and 38 were neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). Sixteen (41%) patients had mixed components with either adenocarcinoma (N = 9, 23%) or squamous-cell carcinoma (SCC) (N = 7, 18%). 64.1% of the patients experienced dysphagia and ulcerative mass was the most comment endoscopic finding. There was a higher proportion of drinkers (54.1%), betel chewers (21.6%) and smokers (64.9%) among the patients than in the general population in Taiwan. Five patients (12.8%) had been diagnosed with other cancers. Definite chemoradiotherapy (N = 14, 35.9%) and surgery (N = 7, 17.9%) were the major treatment. Patients with Ki-67% above the median level (50%) in the tumors tended to have worse survival (P = 0.06). However, presence of mixed component was not a significant survival predictor in our study (P = 0.56). CONCLUSION: Mixed component of an esophageal NET is commonly observed. Staged workup and the principle of treatment can follow that for the common cancer type of esophagus. The risk factors and behaviors of esophageal NEC in Taiwan seem to be similar to that of esophageal SCC.

The incidence and prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease have been increasing for decades and IBD has become a worldwide disease. Epidemiology studies demonstrated higher incidence rates in the more westernized countries. The change of habitual diets in these countries is perceived as the reason for the development of IBD. Besides, molecular biological studies showed some pathogenic substances produced after digestion of daily diet decrease the diversity of intestinal microbiota and cause dysbiosis of microbiome. Then, chronic inflammation occurs in some genetically susceptible subjects and IBD developed. As a result, many researchers started to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of nutrients and dietary intervention on the clinical course and pathogenesis of IBD. Carbohydrates, fats, proteins and fibers are investigated and their molecular roles in the inflammatory process are discovered gradually. The undigested carbohydrates are proved to cause overgrowth of colonic bacteria and inflammation occurs by altering colonic microbiome. ω-3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids are more favored over ω-6 poly-unsaturated fatty acids due to its less pro-inflammatory properties. High fibers produce more short-chain fatty acids in colon and facilitate the diversity of colonic microbiota. Moreover, some dietary interventions were designed and studied with promising results. Low FODMAP is recommended in IBS and is also suggested in patients of IBD with IBS-like symptoms. Specific Carbohydrate Diet was designed for celiac disease at first and is proved to be effective to decrease inflammation and to induce remission by decreasing non-digested carbohydrates into colon. Exclusive Enteral Nutrition has been investigated and is suggested to be the first line of management in pediatric CD in many literatures. Paleolithic diet and semi-vegetarian diet are evaluated and might be beneficial in some clinical settings. These findings are promising but limited to the evidence without high quality level. Some more well-designed studies with randomization and double-blind are needed and the primary endpoints should be more focused on the decrease of inflammation in pathology and mucosal healing in endoscopy instead of relief of the symptoms.

Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is a method to directly change the recipient's gut microbiota to normalize the composition and gain a therapeutic benefit. The history of FMT has been traced back to the 4th century and has been highly regarded since 2013, when the United States Food and Drug Administration approved FMT for treating recurrent and refractory Clostridium difficile infection. Since then, the range of FMT applications extended rapidly and broadly not only in gastrointestinal disorders, but also in extra-gastrointestinal diseases. Donor selection with questionnaire, interview, blood tests, and stool examinations should be strictly performed before FMT to reduce and prevent occurrence of any adverse events. Step-by-step cautious fecal and recipient preparation along with adequately choosing delivery methods based on individual clinical situations are key points of the FMT process. Although current evidence deems FMT as a generally safe therapeutic method with few adverse effects, the long-term outcomes of FMT have not been completely elucidated. Therefore, establishing periodicity and length of regular follow-up after FMT to monitor the clinical efficacy and long-term adverse events are other essential issues. In the future, we will look forward to personalized FMT for different patients and conditions according to varied hosts and diseases.

BACKGROUND: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection causes elevation of lipid peroxidation product malondialdehyde (MDA) and this association may be due to the bacterium causing reactive oxygen species-mediated damage to DNA in the gastric epithelium. The aim of this study was to investigate the gastric juice MDA levels in relation to H. pylori infection and associated gastric diseases. METHODS: Gastric juice samples were obtained from 117 patients undergoing endoscopy, and gastric juice MDA levels were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system. We compared the MDA levels between patients with and without H. pylori infection and assessed the differences of MDA levels between chronic gastritis, gastric intestinal metaplasia, and gastric cancer postsurgical resection. RESULTS: Malondialdehyde levels in gastric juice were significantly higher in chronic gastritis patients with H. pylori infection than in those without H. pylori infection (P < .0001). In patients without H. pylori infection, patients with gastric intestinal metaplasia and gastric cancer postsurgical resection had significantly higher gastric juice MDA level than patients with chronic gastritis. As a whole, patients with gastric intestinal metaplasia and gastric cancer postsurgical resection also had significantly higher MDA levels in gastric juice as compared to patients with chronic gastritis (P < .01). However, the difference of gastric juice MDA levels between gastric intestinal metaplasia and gastric cancer postsurgical resection was not significant. CONCLUSION: Malondialdehyde in gastric juice could be used as a potential diagnostic biomarker for H. pylori infection and associated gastric diseases. The gastric juice MDA levels increased proportionally with the severity of gastric diseases.

Esophageal squamous-cell neoplasia (ESCN) is a common second primary neoplasia found in patients with head-and-neck squamous-cell carcinoma (HNSCC). This study sought to identify the risk factors for synchronous ESCN and how they influence survival in HNSCC patient. Eight hundred and fifteen incident HNSCC patients were prospectively recruited for endoscopy screening for ESCN using white-light imaging, narrow-band imaging, Lugol chromoendoscopy, and pathological confirmation. Associated lifestyle and clinicopathological data were collected. The interquartile follow-up period cutoffs were 11.3, 20.5 and 34.9 months. 124 patients (15.2%) were diagnosed as having synchronous ESCN (66 low-grade dysplasia, 29 high-grade dysplasia, and 29 esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma). Consumption of alcohol, but not betel nut or cigarette, was significantly associated with the presence of synchronous ESCN (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 7.1 and 10.9 for former and current drinkers, respectively). There was an interaction between cumulative dose of alcohol consumption and alcohol flushing response on the development of ESCN. High-dose drinkers with flush response were 16.9 times more likely to have esophageal high-grade dysplasia/SCC than non-drinkers. Compared with oral cavity cancer patients, those with hypopharyngeal, laryngeal and oropharyngeal cancer were 6.8, 4.6 and 2.8 times more likely to have esophageal high-grade dysplasia/SCC. HNSCC patients with synchronous ESCN had lower overall survival than those without (p < 0.0001). In conclusion, surveillance of ESCN is strongly recommended for the high-risk subpopulation of HNSCC patients, especially drinkers who have a flush response to alcohol, and those with distant metastasis of index cancer and cancers in hypopharynx, oropharynx and larynx.

OBJECTIVES: Proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-amoxicillin-fluoroquinolone triple therapy is recommended as a second-line treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in the Maastricht V/Florence Consensus Report. However, the eradication rate of this standard salvage treatment is suboptimal. The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of esomeprazole-bismuth-tetracycline-levofloxacin therapy (TL quadruple therapy) and esomeprazole-amoxicillin-levofloxacin triple therapy (AL triple therapy) in rescue treatment for H. pylori infection. METHODS: Consecutive H. pylori-infected subjects after failure of first-line therapies were randomly allocated to receive either TL quadruple therapy (esomeprazole 40 mg b.d., bismuth 120 mg q.d.s., tetracycline 500 mg q.d.s., and levofloxacin 500 mg o.d.) or AL triple therapy (esomeprazole 40 mg b.d., amoxicillin 500 mg q.d.s., and levofloxacin 500 mg o.d.) for 10 days. H. pylori status was assessed 6 weeks after the end of treatment. RESULTS: The study was stopped after an interim analysis. Of 50 patients in the TL quadruple therapy, 49 (98.0%) had successful eradication of H. pylori infection. Cure of H. pylori infection was achieved in 36 of 52 patients (69.2%) receiving AL triple therapy. Intention-to-treat analysis demonstrated that TL quadruple therapy achieved a markedly higher eradication rate than AL triple therapy (difference: 28.8%; 95% confidence interval: 15.7% to 41.9%; P<0.001). Per-protocol analysis yielded a similar result (97.8% vs. 68.6%; P<0.001). The two treatment groups exhibited comparable frequencies of overall adverse events (22.0% vs. 11.5%) and drug compliance (90.0% vs. 98.1%). The subgroup analysis showed that TL quadruple therapy was superior to AL triple therapy in patients with failure of either standard triple therapy (100% vs. 75.0%; P=0.010) or non-bismuth quadruple therapy (95.0% vs. 52.6%; P=0.003). CONCLUSIONS: Ten-day PPI-bismuth-tetracycline-levofloxacin quadruple therapy is a good option for rescue treatment of H. pylori infection following failure of standard triple or non-bismuth quadruple therapy.

The management of proton pump inhibitor-refractory GERD (rGERD) is a challenge in clinical practice. Since up to one-third of patients with typical GERD symptoms (heartburn and/or acid regurgitation) are not satisfied with proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy, new drug development targeting different pathophysiologies of GERD is imperative. At present, no other drugs serve as a more potent acid suppression agent than PPIs. As an add-on therapy, histamine type-2 receptor antagonists, alginates, prokinetics and transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation inhibitors have some impact on the subgroups of rGERD, but greater effectiveness and fewer adverse effects for widespread use are required. Visceral hypersensitivity also contributes to the perception of GERD symptoms, and neuromodulators including antidepressants play a role in this category. Esophageal pH-impedance monitoring helps to distinguish functional heartburn from true GERD, and psychologic medication and cognitive behavior therapy are further therapy options instead of PPIs.

Early detection of esophageal cancer through endoscopic imaging is pivotal for effective treatment. However, the intricacies of endoscopic diagnosis, contingent on the physician's expertise, pose challenges. Esophageal cancer features often manifest ambiguously, leading to potential confusions with other inflammatory esophageal conditions, thereby complicating diagnostic accuracy. In recent times, computer-aided diagnosis has emerged as a promising solution in medical imaging, particularly within the domain of endoscopy. Nonetheless, contemporary AI-based diagnostic models heavily rely on voluminous data sources, limiting their applicability, especially in scenarios with scarce datasets. To address this limitation, our study introduces novel data training strategies based on transfer learning, tailored to optimize performance with limited data. Additionally, we propose a hybrid model integrating EfficientNet and Vision Transformer networks to enhance prediction accuracy. Conducting rigorous evaluations on a carefully curated dataset comprising 1002 endoscopic images (comprising 650 white-light images and 352 narrow-band images), our model achieved exceptional outcomes. Our combined model achieved an accuracy of 96.32%, precision of 96.44%, recall of 95.70%, and f1-score of 96.04%, surpassing state-of-the-art models and individual components, substantiating its potential for precise medical image classification. The AI-based medical image prediction platform presents several advantageous characteristics, encompassing superior prediction accuracy, a compact model size, and adaptability to low-data scenarios. This research heralds a significant stride in the advancement of computer-aided endoscopic imaging for improved esophageal cancer diagnosis.

Esophageal cancers are globally the sixth deadliest malignancy, with limited curative options. The association of high serum elafin levels, a molecule produced by epithelial cells, with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) risk is established, but its link to poor ESCC prognosis remains unclear. To explore this question, we first used three-dimensional confocal imaging to create a model of the spatial distribution of elafin inside locoregional ESCC tissues. Then, after analyzing data obtained from whole-genome microarrays for ESCC cell lines and their more invasive sublines, we performed in vitro experiments using RNA sequencing to identify possible elafin-related pathways. Three-dimensional tissue imaging showed elafin distributed as an interweaved-like fibrous structure in the stroma of tissue obtained from patients with high serum levels of elafin and poorer prognoses. By contrast, the signal was confined inside or around the tumor nest in patients who had lower serum levels and better survival. The analysis of a TCGA dataset revealed that higher levels of elafin mRNA in stage I-IIIA ESCC patients were associated with shorter survival. The in vitro studies revealed that elafin promoted ESCC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion via the epithelial-mesenchymal transition pathway. Thus, elafin inhibition could potentially be used therapeutically to improve survival in patients with locoregional ESCC.

Helicobacter pylori infection is an important issue worldwide, and several guidelines have been published for clinicians to achieve successful eradication. However, there are still some patients who remain infected with H. pylori after treatment. Clinicians should identify the reasons that caused treatment failure and find strategies to manage them. We have searched and organized the literature and developed methods to overcome factors that contribute to prior treatment failure, such as poor compliance, inadequate intragastric acid suppression, and antibiotic resistance. To improve compliance, telemedicine or smartphone applications might play a role in the modern world by increasing doctor-patient relationships, while concomitant probiotics could be administered to reduce adverse effects and enhance adherence. For better acid suppression, high-potency and high-dose proton-pump inhibitors or potassium-competitive acid blockers have preferable efficacy. To overcome antibiotic resistance, susceptibility tests either by culture or by genotyping are the most commonly used methods and have been suggested for antibiotic selection before rescue therapy, but empirical therapy according to detailed medical history could be an alternative. Eradication with a longer treatment period (14 days) has a better outcome than shorter period (7 or 10 days). Ultimately, clinicians should select antibiotics based on the patient's history of drug allergy, previous antibiotic exposure, local antibiotic resistance, available medications, and cost. In addition, identifying patients with a high risk of cancer and shared decision-making are also essential for those who have experienced eradication failure.

ABSTRACT: Colonic or peritoneal metastasis from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is extremely rare. We present the case of a 68-year-old man with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who received concurrent chemoradiation therapy. The follow-up whole-body 18F-FDG PET/CT was performed 6 months after initial chemotherapy and showed new lesions of increased FDG activity in the colon as well as peritoneum. The final pathological diagnosis proved these metastases were from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Esophageal cancer has a dismal prognosis with a five-year survival rate below 20%. Recently, immunotherapy has become a new standard of care for this cancer; therefore, we aimed to examine the programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissues before and after concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT). In total, 64 patients with pre-CCRT ESCC specimens were examined for PD-L1 expression, with twenty-three of them having a partial response (N = 23) or stable disease (N = 1) after CCRT while post-CCRT tissue specimens were collected. All of them were tested for PD-L1 and 15 of them also had CD8 expression in the paired ESCC samples. The prevalence of PD-L1 positivity was 54.7% and we found a trend of decreased PD-L1 expression and increased CD8 positive signal after CCRT. High pre-CCRT PD-L1 H-score in tumors was related to poor prognosis (adjusted hazard ratio = 2.81; p = 0.02), although CD8 signal was not associated with overall survival either in pre- or post-CCRT treatment. In conclusion, we found that PD-L1 expression tended to decrease in CCRT responders and our result supports PD-L1 expression in tumor as a predictor of ESCC prognosis.

Esophageal neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) are extremely rare and little is known about their risk factors. To identify the potential risk factors, we evaluated whether the history of substance use, including alcohol, tobacco and areca nut consumption was associated with esophageal NEN. Forty-one esophageal NEN patients diagnosed between 2002 and 2019 from 17 hospital in Taiwan were enrolled as the cases. Controls were participants who received complete esophagogastroduodenoscopy in an endoscopic cohort and 123 eligible controls were matched to 41 cases (3:1) on age and gender. Alcohol drinking and cigarette smoking significantly increased the risk of esophageal NEN, with about a fourfold risk increase in alcohol drinkers as well as cigarette smokers. Moreover, use of cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption in combination demonstrated the highest risk of esophageal NEN with the risk increasing up to 20 times compared with non-users. Alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking significantly increase risk of esophageal NEN and both alcohol and cigarette users had the highest risk.

In this study, the combination of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology and band selection was coupled with color reproduction. The white-light images (WLIs) were simulated as narrow-band endoscopic images (NBIs). As a result, the blood vessel features in the endoscopic image became more noticeable, and the prediction performance was improved. In addition, a single-shot multi-box detector model for predicting the stage and location of esophageal cancer was developed to evaluate the results. A total of 1780 esophageal cancer images, including 845 WLIs and 935 NBIs, were used in this study. The images were divided into three stages based on the pathological features of esophageal cancer: normal, dysplasia, and squamous cell carcinoma. The results showed that the mean average precision (mAP) reached 80% in WLIs, 85% in NBIs, and 84% in HSI images. This study's results showed that HSI has more spectral features than white-light imagery, and it improves accuracy by about 5% and matches the results of NBI predictions.

Diagnosis of early esophageal neoplasia, including dysplasia and superficial cancer, is a great challenge for endoscopists. Recently, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) using deep learning in the endoscopic field has made significant advancements in diagnosing gastrointestinal cancers. In the present study, we constructed a single-shot multibox detector using a convolutional neural network for diagnosing different histological grades of esophageal neoplasms and evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of this computer-aided system. A total of 936 endoscopic images were used as training images, and these images included 498 white-light imaging (WLI) and 438 narrow-band imaging (NBI) images. The esophageal neoplasms were divided into three classifications: squamous low-grade dysplasia, squamous high-grade dysplasia, and squamous cell carcinoma, based on pathological diagnosis. This AI system analyzed 264 test images in 10 s, and the sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of this system in detecting esophageal neoplasms were 96.2%, 70.4%, and 90.9%, respectively. The accuracy of this AI system in differentiating the histological grade of esophageal neoplasms was 92%. Our system showed better accuracy in diagnosing NBI (95%) than WLI (89%) images. Our results showed the great potential of AI systems in identifying esophageal neoplasms as well as differentiating histological grades.

This study uses hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and a deep learning diagnosis model that can identify the stage of esophageal cancer and mark the locations. This model simulates the spectrum data from the image using an algorithm developed in this study which is combined with deep learning for the classification and diagnosis of esophageal cancer using a single-shot multibox detector (SSD)-based identification system. Some 155 white-light endoscopic images and 153 narrow-band endoscopic images of esophageal cancer were used to evaluate the prediction model. The algorithm took 19 s to predict the results of 308 test images and the accuracy of the test results of the WLI and NBI esophageal cancer was 88 and 91%, respectively, when using the spectral data. Compared with RGB images, the accuracy of the WLI was 83% and the NBI was 86%. In this study, the accuracy of the WLI and NBI was increased by 5%, confirming that the prediction accuracy of the HSI detection method is significantly improved.
