ABSTRACT
PIP: The authors "assess the impact of HIV/AIDS on hospitalization and mortality patterns in Canada...among men and women across provinces, regions and select cities between 1987-94.... This work reveals the considerable impact of HIV/AIDS on patterns of hospitalization and mortality in Canada. When compared with select leading causes of morbidity and mortality, HIV/AIDS was found to be the leading cause of hospitalization and death for men and women, especially during early adulthood."
