ABSTRACT

The title compound (systematic name pyridinium 4-methyl-benzene-sulfonate), C5H6N+·C7H7O3S-, is the pyridinium salt of para-toluene-sulfonic acid. In the crystal, classical N-Hâ¯O hydrogen bonds as well as C-Hâ¯O contacts connect the cationic and anionic entities into sheets lying parallel to the ab plane.
