Adult palatal expansion prostheses.

ABSTRACT

The technical steps in the construction of two types of adult palatal expanders have been described. These prostheses are complex and require a special level of coordination between the professional team and the dental laboratory. The teamwork involved in the restoration of major maxillary defects contributes to the success of the prosthesis and makes the efforts involved worthwhile.
