ABSTRACT

Of 346 cataract extractions with IOLs implantation (184 anterior and 162 posterior chamber) in 98 eyes iris complications were observed. They were pigment dispersion syndrome and iris-tuck-syndrome, the latter caused by the pressure of the haptic part of the lens. In our material these complications were observed more often after posterior chamber IOLs than in anterior ones. However, the consequences of the complications were more serious and had worse prognosis in anterior chamber IOLs. The authors compared their results with literature.
