RESUMEN

Dentigerous cyst is also known as follicular cyst. It is an odontogenic cyst of developmental origin. The dentigerous cyst involves impacted, embedded or submerged tooth by expansion of its follicle. The normal follicular space is mostly 3-4 mm but with dentigerous cyst it can be 5 mm or more. These are second most commonly occurring odontogenic cysts and literature shows occurrence of 24% among true cysts of jaw. It is most commonly associated with mandibular 3rd molar followed by maxillary canine and third molar. Radiographically occurring as unilocular radiolucency around an impacted tooth. In our case the cyst was a large dentigerous cyst occurring in 9-year-old child having mixed dentition. Complete enucleation of the cystic lesion and packing open with bismuth iodoform paraffin paste (BIPP) was done. BIPP dressing was changed at regular intervels and more than 60% of bone formation was complete in around 5 months which was evident on the radiograph. Conclusion: Methods employed for elimination include enucleation, decompression marsupialization but the treatment modality also depends upon age, existing dentition, location and size of the lesion. RESUMEN

Paraosteal lipomas are rare benign neoplasm composed of mature adipose tissue with underlying bone changes. They are extremely rare to occur in head and neck region. We present a case of a 40-year-old male with a paraosteal lipoma of occipital region. The diagnosis of the lesion was reached by clinical examination and confirmed on computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Coronavirus disease is a highly infectious and fatal disease. It has caused distress in the form of fear, and anxiety among masses including youth. The psychosocial health of youth is important to build resilient nations after the pandemic is over. This study aimed to capture the level of COVID-19 fear among youth studying in a northern Indian university and to compare it with demographic variables. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study (April-May 2020) conducted among university students in North India. Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) was used for online survey using Google Forms. FCV-19S is a reliable tool for assessing the fear of COVID-19 among the general population. Descriptive statistics and principal component analysis (PCA) with varimax rotation were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: A total of 521 responses were recorded. The majority (78%) of the participants were in the age group of 18-23 years and more than half (57%) were pursuing graduation. The respondents belonged to 16 states and union territories in the country. A total of 17% reported severe fear, while a few reported moderate (17%) or mild (11%) fear on the FCV-19S. No respondent could be categorized with "no fear" based on the overall FCV-19S score. Approximately, 42% of respondents were nervous after watching news/social media posts about COVID-19. Based on PCA, factor 1 labeled as anxiety toward COVID-19, factor 2 media effect on shaping of fear, and factor 3 thanatophobia as contributing factors for fear among youth. CONCLUSIONS: Reflection of fear among youth suggests that adequate knowledge about COVID-19, preventive steps, treatment options, etc., may be planned to allay fears among youth.

RESUMEN

A dentigerous cyst is a developmental odontogenic cyst occurring most commonly in the third molar region of mandible and maxilla and maxillary canine region followed by mandibular premolar areas. However, dentigerous cyst occurring in association with impacted maxillary premolars is a very rare presentation accounting for less than 0.5% of total dentigerous cyst cases. In the following case report, a dentigerous cyst was reported in maxillary premolar region in a nonsyndromic patient having one missing premolar and another malformed one associated with the dentigerous cyst.
