RESUMEN

The North China Plain (NCP) is one of the three great plains in China and also serves as a vital region for grain, cotton, and oil production. Under the influence of regional hydrothermal changes, groundwater overexploitation, and seawater intrusion, the vegetation coverage is undergoing continuous alterations. However, a comprehensive assessment of impacts of precipitation, temperature, and groundwater on vegetation in marine sedimentary regions of the NCP is lacking. Heilonggang Basin (HB) is located in the low-lying plain area in the east of NCP, which is part of the NCP. In this study, the HB was chosen as a typical area of interest. We collected a series of data, including the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), precipitation, temperature, groundwater depth, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from 2001 to 2020. Then the spatiotemporal variation in vegetation was analyzed, and the underlying driving mechanisms of vegetation variation were explored in this paper. The results show that NDVI experiences a rapid increase from 2001 to 2004, followed by stable fluctuations from 2004 to 2020. The vegetation in the HB has achieved an overall improvement in the past two decades, with 76% showing improvement, mainly in the central and eastern areas, and 24% exhibiting deterioration in other areas. From 2001 to 2020, NDVI correlates positively with precipitation, whereas its relationship with temperature fluctuates between positive and negative, and is not statistically significant. There is a threshold for the synergistic change of NDVI and groundwater depth. When the groundwater depth is lower than 3.8 m, NDVI increases sharply with groundwater depth. However, beyond this threshold, NDVI tends to stabilize and fluctuate. In the eastern coastal areas, NDVI exhibits a strong positive correlation with groundwater depth, influenced by the surface soil TDS controlled by groundwater depth. In the central regions, a strong negative correlation is observed, where NDVI is primarily impacted by soil moisture under the control of groundwater. In the west and south, a strong positive correlation exists, with NDVI primarily influenced by the intensity of groundwater exploitation. Thus, precipitation and groundwater are the primary driving forces behind the spatiotemporal variability of vegetation in the HB, while in contrast, the influence of temperature is uncertain. This study has elucidated the mechanism of vegetation response, providing a theoretical basis for mitigating adverse factors affecting vegetation growth and formulating rational water usage regulations in the NCP.

RESUMEN

An autofocusing method for two-wavelength digital holographic microscopy (TWDHM) based on the wavelength dependence of the diffraction process is proposed. Red and green lights are employed for the illumination of the TWDHM, and the generated holograms are recorded simultaneously by a color CCD camera. Due to the wavelength dependency of the diffraction process, the farther the reconstruction plane is from the image plane, the larger the difference is between the red and green light distributions. Thus, the image plane can be determined by finding the minimum of the variation between the red and green lights on their amplitude distributions. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulation and experiment.

RESUMEN

An auto-focusing method for digital holographic microscopy has been proposed by employing two off-axis illumination beams. When specimens are illuminated by two plane waves in different directions, it is found that the farther the reconstruction plane is from the image plane, the wider the two reconstructed images are separated from each other. Thus, the image plane can be determinated by finding the minimum of the variation between the two reconstructed object waves on both the amplitude and phase distributions. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated by the corresponding simulation and experiment.

RESUMEN

We propose dual-wavelength digital holographic microscopy with a slightly off-axis configuration. The axial measurement range without phase ambiguity is extended to the micrometer range by synthesizing a beat wavelength between the two wavelengths with separation of 157 nm. Real-time measurement of the specimen is made possible by virtue of the high wavelength selectivity of the Bayer mosaic filtered color CCD camera. The principle of the method is exposed, and the practicability of the proposed configuration is demonstrated by the experimental results on a vortex phase plate and a rectangular phase step.

RESUMEN

A twisted-nematic liquid-crystal display (TN-LCD) placed between two linear polarizers (P) generally produces coupled intensity and phase modulations. For the purpose of phase-only modulation, quarter-wave plates (QWPs) are often used in front of or behind the LCD. In this paper, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally the QWPs' effect on the modulation properties of the TN-LCD based on the general Jones matrix descriptions for all the devices, which circumvents the inconvenience of the traditional method on the basis of the TN-LCD's internal parameters. We prove that the phase modulation depth of the TN-LCD can be further increased in the configuration of P1-QWP1-LCD-QWP2-P2 with each component properly oriented, provided that the mean intensity transmission is decreased to a lower level. By observing the diffracted patterns of the Ronchi phase grating or blazed grating addressed onto the TN-LCD, we verify the validity of the proposed method. Improved reconstructed image quality from the kinoform loaded on the TN-LCD is obtained in this configuration. This approach is valuable when the TN-LCD is employed as a phase modulator, especially for the modern, thinner TN-LCD.

RESUMEN

Seawater intrusion poses a serious threat to coastal areas around the world. The purpose of this study was to develop a comprehensive approach to assess the vulnerability of saltwater intrusion. The powerful decision-making technique GALDIT was firstly selected, and its inherent weights are the origin of the subjective method. The entropy method was then integrated to reasonably determine the objective weight of this basic structure. Furthermore, to balance conflicts between subjective and objective methods, game theory was intruded upon. The result of the sensitivity analysis showed a correlation coefficient between the effective weights and theoretical weights of the normal method, entropy theory, and game theory of 0.66, 0.89, and 0.94, respectively. Meanwhile, the best correlation coefficient between the vulnerability indices and the values of 38 monitoring wells was obtained by the game model. Finally, the optimal weights of G, A, L, D, I, and T were 0.096, 0.153, 0.220, 0.320, 0.150, and 0.061, respectively. The study area was finally classified into regions with high, moderate, and low vulnerability, accounting for 11.4%, 24.9%, and 63.7% of the area. The paper included that the optimization of GALDIT through game theory gives a more accurate assessment of the groundwater vulnerability to seawater intrusion.
