Adenoid cystic carcinoma in atypical site: case report

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare form of malignant neoplasm of the salivary glands, with slow growth and late symptoms. One of the challenges presented by this tumor is its high rate of metastasis, with tropism to the nervous system, liver and bones. Treatment is based on surgical resection of the tumor, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy ­ it varies depending on the condition of each patient.
