[Prognostic value of functional methods of studying respiration and circulation in lung cancer surgery]. / Prognosticheskaia znachimost' funktsional'nykh metodov issledovaniia dykhaniia i krovoobrashcheniia v khirurgii raka legkogo.

The method of stepwise regression analysis with the help of computer was used for a retrospective analysis of the prognostic value of indicators of the external ventilation and central hemodynamics (with special reference to age and volume of surgery) in 104 men with lung cancer. It was found that an analysis of these factors is enough for predetermination of duration of the postoperative period in its not complicated course. The priority of the estimation of the adaptive abilities of the circulation for such prognosis has been shown. The value of the method of integral rheography and the system of estimation of the indicators of central hemodynamics developed on its basis has been confirmed.

[Hyperbaric oxygenation in the treatment of patients with acute purulent-destructive lung and pleural diseases]. / Giperbaricheskaia oksigenatsiia v lechenii bol'nykh ostrymi gnoino-destruktivnymi porazheniiami legkikh i plevry.

In experiments in rabbits the authors have elaborated safe (in relation to a barotrauma of the lungs) regimens of the pressure changes taking place while performing HBO. In the treatment of 127 patients with acute suppurations of the lungs and pleura it was established that a short course of HBO (4-5 sessions) in the regimens used was safe and clinically effective. The method is recommended for the treatment of patients with spreaded injuries of the pulmonary tissue developing with a pronounced endogenous intoxication.

[Characteristics of central hemodynamics in high-mountain conditions and its changes in penetrating thoracic injuries]. / Osobennosti tsentral'noi gemodinamiki v usloviiakh vysokogor'ia i ee izmeneniia pri pronikaiushchikh raneniiakh grudi.

It was found that in practically healthy inhabitants of Alpine regions the real oxygen transport is maintained by hyperdynamic regimen of blood circulation, main role in its creation belonging to growth of the stroke volume. The estimation of changing hemodynamics parameters performed by the method of integral rheography is indicated for early detection of patients with risk of the development of pleura empyema after chest wounds.

[Dependence of the cardiac pumping function on arterial resistance in lung cancer and in the stages of its surgical treatment]. / Zavisimost' nasosnoi funktsii serdtsa ot arterial'nogo soprotivleniia pri rake legkogo i na étapakh ego khirurgicheskogo lecheniia.

The relationship between the arterial resistance and pumping function of the heart was studied in 203 patients by the method of integral rheography. An inverse relationship between the pumping capacity of the heart and vascular resistance was confirmed at different stages of examination and treatment of the patients. The maximal levels of increase of the minute blood flow volume were established as well as the conditions under which the increase of the cardiac output discontinued despite the decrease of the postexercise.

[Prognosis of the effect of sympathectomy of the extremity in obliterating lesions of the major arteries]. / Prognozirovanie éffekta desimpatizatsiia konechnosti pri obliteriruiushchikh porazheniiakh magistral'nykh arterii.

Indices of the central hemodynamics were studied by the method of integral rheography in 76 male patients with obliterating lesions of the lower extremity arteries. The elasticity of the arterial vascular bed in these patients was found to reduce. It proved to be possible not only to estimate the effects of operative desympathization of the lower extremities but also to prognoze its nearest results by the data of temporal chemical desympathization of the lumbar ganglia by novocain or peridural blockade.

[Student body selection for a regional medical graduate education training center]. / Formirovanie sostava slushatelei regional'nogo tsentra po poslediplomnomu obucheniiu kadrov zdravookhraneniia.

The results of analysis of the composition of experts from the Northwestern region of the Russian Federation, who improved their skills at the Medical Academy of Postgraduate Training, Saint Petersburg, i.e. a regional training center for continuous postgraduate education of medical personnel, are presented in the article. The influence of the selected forms and purposes of such training as well as of the development level of outdoor training sessions and of need in certified personnel was defined. The study results promote the planning of the training-and-production activity of the regional training center for the purpose of meeting, as full as possible, the needs of health care institutions in the sphere of postgraduate training of personnel.

[Clinical importance of changes in thrombocytic hemostasis in lung cancer]. / Klinicheskoe znachenie izmenenii trombotsitarnogo gemostaza pri rake legkogo.

Clinico-laboratory examinations of 86 patients have shown that lung cancer develops against the background of activation of the thrombocytic link of hemostasis which manifested itself in thrombocytosis, greater degree of destruction of the lysosomal membranes, lower energy resources of the cells, their tendency to slow and little reversible aggregation. The authors consider that the indicators of the ADP-induced aggregation of thrombocytes may be used for prognosis of postoperative pyo-inflammatory and thromboembolic complications. HBO is good for correction of alterations in the thrombocytic link of hemostasis in lung cancer and its suppurative complications.

[The functional properties of thrombocytes in patients with suppurative peritonitis]. / Funktsional'nye svoistva trombotsitov u bol'nykh gnoinym peritonitom.

An examination of 49 patients with local and diffuse purulent peritonitis at different stages of surgical treatment has shown that the pyodestructive process in the abdominal cavity develops against the background of thrombocytosis, thrombocyte destruction, their decreased energy resources and tendency to retarded and irreversible aggregation. To correct the disturbed aggregation properties of thrombocytes the HBO and intraaortal infusions of antiaggregants and vasoactive drugs may be used.

[The functional assessment of the late results of surgical treatment in lung cancer]. / Funktsional'naia otsenka otdalennykh rezul'tatov khirurgicheskogo lecheniia raka legkogo.

Results of a complex clinico-functional examination of 48 patients after resection for lung cancer 8-10 years ago are presented. The satisfactory pumping function of the heart was revealed with practically normal volumes of the cardiac output. Among patients subjected to resection of a lobe of the lung two groups were determined: with relatively satisfactory parameters of the function of external respiration and blood circulation and with a pronounced degree of strain of the functioning of these systems.
