RESUMO

In today's dynamic development of modern life, we can unfortunately see more and more often cases of malignant diseases during pregnancy. Therapy of these conditions in pregnant women is a challenge to the doctors, due to concerns for the mother's health, but also the possible risks for the foetus. An additional difficulty is the fact that there are no common algorithms for the treatment. Of great importance is the ges'tation period, because in its different parts, the risks vary in grade. It is believed that up to 10-12th ges.tation week chemotherapy should not be included. The optimal time for the last course is 35th gestation week or three weeks to the due date. The purpose of this review is to examine the benefits and risks of the treatment of malignant diseases during pregnancy for both the mother and the fetus.

RESUMO

Studies on surface waters were carried out for the presence of 2,4-D. The objects were selected from regions with intensive application of the herbicide. The studies were carried out by means of gas-liquid chromatography after derivatization of 2,4-D to methyl ester by diazomethane. The presence of 2,4-D in concentrations from 0,1 to 2,6 micrograms/dm3 was confirmed in an average of 68 per cent of the samples analyzed--rivers, dams, microdams and field water sources, with no data for seasonal or local oscillations. The residual quantities of 2,4-D in the surface water, confirmed in the present study, are 1000 and 100 resp. times less as compared with the literature data and the standards of the foreign sanitary legislations.

RESUMO

The authors give the results of their studies for the presence of metals in waters. The investigations are carried out in two directions; the first is related to the solving of pure analytical problems, the second--to the behaviour of the metal ions in water media and hygienic evaluation of their level. Several variants of atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) are comparatively studied: by flame--directly and by means of extraction concentration and without flame AAS--with and without matrix effects. The analytical parameters of the mentioned methods are determined as well as the experience of their use according to the expected concentration of metals and type of waters. It is established that the content of metals in underground waters is comparatively lower and with no seasonal, local and regional differences. The presence and concentrations of the latter in surface waters is affected by the anthropogenic factors and show a tendency towards fluctuation in type and place. It is also proved that metals have different behaviour in the water media stimulating a diverse tendency towards distribution between water phase, suspending material and bottom sediments.
