RESUMO

Aspergillus niger is a well-known workhorse for the industrial production of enzymes and organic acids. This fungus can also cause postharvest diseases in fruits. Although Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) based on antibiotic resistance markers has been effectively exploited for inspecting functions of target genes in wild-type fungi, it still needs to be further improved in A. niger. In the present study, we re-examined the ATMT in the wild-type A. niger strains using the hygromycin resistance marker and introduced the nourseothricin resistance gene as a new selection marker for this fungus. Unexpectedly, our results revealed that the ATMT method using the resistance markers in A. niger led to numerous small colonies as false-positive transformants on transformation plates. Using the top agar overlay technique to restrict false positive colonies, a transformation efficiency of 87 ± 18 true transformants could be achieved for 106 conidia. With two different selection markers, we could perform both the deletion and complementation of a target gene in a single wild-type A. niger strain. Our results also indicated that two key regulatory genes (laeA and veA) of the velvet complex are required for A. niger to infect apple fruits. Notably, we demonstrated for the first time that a laeA homologous gene from the citrus postharvest pathogen Penicillium digitatum was able to restore the acidification ability and pathogenicity of the A. niger ΔlaeA mutant. The dual resistance marker ATMT system from our work represents an improved genetic tool for gene function characterization in A. niger.

RESUMO

This study examines the relationships between the inside-out and outside-in perspectives of strategists, organizational creativity, and financial performance in Vietnamese small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Based on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities view, we collected cross-sectional data from 382 managers at all levels of Vietnamese SMEs. The study employed partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings confirm that the inside-out perspective positively affects organizational creativity but has a negative impact on financial performance. Conversely, the outside-in perspective positively affects both organizational creativity and financial performance. Additionally, the study reveals that organizational creativity positively affects financial performance and acts as a mediator between both perspectives and financial performance. Thus, the study suggests that SMEs can benefit from adopting an outside-in perspective to enhance both their organizational creativity and financial performance. Overall, the study contributes to the literature on the cognitive school of strategic management in SMEs.

RESUMO

As the aging population grows worldwide, the problem of age-related health is becoming an important public health concern. Dementia is a devastating disease that places a significant physical, emotional, and financial burden on patients, their caregivers, and society. It is predicted to increase in developing countries. The Revised Hasegawa's Dementia Scale (HDS-R) has been used in many Asian countries to measure cognitive function. However, there is still no Vietnamese version of the HDS-R. Therefore, this paper describes the development of the HDS-R scale and manual in Vietnamese language. Two Vietnamese researchers translated the HDS-R from English to Vietnamese. To confirm the accuracy of the translation, two other Vietnamese researchers conducted a back-translation. Another pair of Vietnamese researchers compared the back-translated English version to the original one. All six researchers discussed the inconsistencies between English HDS-R scale and manual and derived the most suitable version for the Vietnamese context. In Questions 4 and Question 7, we changed the words from "cherry blossom" and "train" to "daisy flower" and "bicycle" for the first option, and from "plum blossom" to "rose" for the second option. We also changed the expressions in some places in the manual to fit the Vietnamese language. Future studies are needed to validate this version to be able to access cognitive function in both clinical and public healthcare settings.

RESUMO

Background: The 2019 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage and the 2018 Declaration of Astana reaffirm the highest level of political commitment by United Nations Member States to achieve access to health services and primary healthcare for all. Both documents emphasize the importance of person-centered care in both healthcare services and systems design. However, there is limited consensus on how to build a strong primary healthcare system to achieve these goals. Methods: We convened a diverse group of global stakeholders for a high-level dialogue on how to create a person-centered primary healthcare system, using the country examples of the Republic of Kenya and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. We focused our discussion on four themes to enable the creation of person-centered primary healthcare systems in Kenya and Vietnam: (1) strengthened community, person and patient engagement in subnational and national decision making; (2) improved service delivery; (3) impactful use of innovation and technology; and (4) meaningful and timely use of measurement and data. Findings: Here, we present a summary of our convening's proceedings, with specific insights on how to enable a person-centered primary healthcare system within each of these four domains. Conclusions: Following the 2019 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage and the 2018 Declaration of Astana, there is high-level commitment and global consensus that a person-centered approach is necessary to achieve high-quality primary healthcare and universal health coverage. We offer our recommendations to the global community to catalyze further discourse and inform policy-making and program development on the path to Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

RESUMO

625 under 5 years old children and their mother or nursing persons in 4 communes of Dan Phuong and Chuong My districts, Ha Tay province were subjected to study. The incidence of underweight form of malnutrition accounted for 30.3%, mainly for mild and moderate level, the severe and very severe level decreased obviously. 27% of malnutrition cases were in underheight stunting form and 10.4 in thin and weak stunting form. The incidence of malnutrition increased with the age. There was no considerable difference in two districts. The factors influencing on the malnutrition status were education level of the parents, the job and the nutrition of mother, family economy, the nursing status, the proper beginning of use of supplementary food.

RESUMO

With 23 inquiry cards devoted for The Inspector chief of The Provincial Health Office, 365 for inspection staff members, concerning the current state of organisation, results showed that: in 100% of provinces, the organization of inspection belong to Health Office was perfected, inspection personel included senior qualified caders with long carrer and good experience in profession and administration. However, in some regions there is a deficiency of manpower, needing a large necessary for training, especially in inspectional profession.
