RESUMO

The glioma margin is a region of brain tissue where glioblastoma tissue transitions to normal tissue with varying levels of cancer cell concentration. This article uses Raman spectroscopy to detect the glioma margin, which is a fuzzy and uncertain substance that cannot be accurately identified by conventional pattern recognition algorithms. This article applies abundance estimation to Raman spectral unmixing of glioma marginal tissues for the accurate and real-time determination of the tumor surgical boundary during an operation. This article introduces a novel method: the mutation endmember library sparse mixed abundance estimation model. This method adds different representative Raman spectra to each endmember library to account for its dynamic properties, thus reducing errors from such variations and fully capturing the diversity within the substance. Moreover, it uses group sparse endmember bundle decomposition, where each substance endmember library consists of multiple Raman spectra. Fractionally mixed norms are used to ensure intergroup and intragroup sparsity, eliminate redundant spectra, and enhance the generalization ability of the abundance estimation. This method was compared with conventional abundance estimation methods. The experimental results of 112 human glioma margin tissues demonstrate that this method outperforms other methods in terms of accuracy, stability, and generalization ability. This article demonstrates the potential of miniature Raman spectroscopy as a new approach to in vivo and noninvasively determining intraoperative margin assessment.

RESUMO

Integrin α6 has been considered a promising biomarker, is overexpressed in many tumors, and plays a vital role in tumor formation, recurrence, and metastasis. In this study, we identified a novel high-affinity integrin α6-targeted peptide named RD2 (Arg-Trp-Tyr-Asp-PEG4)2-Lys-Lys and developed a 18F-radiolabeled peptide tracer ([18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2) and evaluated its potential application in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of pancreatic cancer. [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 was produced using GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice of Medical Products)-compliant automatic radiosynthesis on a single GE FASTLab2 cassette-type synthesis module. The stability of [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 was analyzed in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and fetal bovine serum (FBS). The cell uptake assay of the tracer was assessed using PANC-1 cells. In addition, small-animal PET imaging and biodistribution studies of [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 were performed in pancreatic cancer subcutaneous tumor-bearing mice. The PET tracer [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 was obtained with a radiochemical yield of 23.7 ± 4.7%, radiochemical purity of >99%, and molar activity of 165.7 ± 59.1 GBq/µmol. [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 exhibited good in vitro stability in PBS and FBS. LogP octanol water value for the tracer was -2.28 ± 0.05 (n = 3). The binding affinity of RD2 to the integrin α6 protein (Kd = 0.13 ± 3.65 µM, n = 3) was significantly higher than that of the RWY (CRWYDENAC) (Kd = 6.97 ± 1.44 µM, n = 3). Small-animal PET imaging and biodistribution also revealed that [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 displayed rapid and good tumor uptake and lower liver background uptake in PANC-1 tumor-bearing mice. [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 showed significant radioactivity accumulation in tumors and was successfully blocked by NOTA-RD2. Compared with [18F]-FDG, [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2 PET imaging and biodistribution studies in PANC-1 xenograft tumor-bearing mice confirmed a good tumor-to-muscle ratio (8.69 ± 2.03 vs 1.41 ± 0.23, respectively) at 0.5 h and (2.99 ± 3.02 vs 1.43 ± 0.17, respectively) at 1 h post injection. Autoradiography of human pancreatic cancer tumor tissues further confirmed high accumulation of [18F]-AlF-NOTA-RD2. In summary, we developed an optimized integrin α6-targeted imaging tracer and obtained high radioactivity products with a cassette-type synthesis module; moreover, the tracer exhibited good binding affinity with integrin α6 and good target specificity for PANC-1 cells in xenograft pancreatic tumor-bearing mice, demonstrating its promising application as a noninvasive PET radiotracer of integrin α6 expression in pancreatic cancer.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The main aim of this systematic review was to determine the effectiveness of postoperative rehabilitation interventions that include breathing exercises as a component to prevent atelectasis in lung cancer resection patients. METHODS: In this review, we systematically and comprehensively searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science in English and CNKI and Wanfang in Chinese from 2012 to 2022. The review included any randomized controlled trials focusing on the effectiveness of postoperative rehabilitation interventions that include breathing exercises to prevent pulmonary atelectasis in lung cancer patients. Participants who underwent anatomic pulmonary resection and received postoperative rehabilitation interventions that included breathing exercises as a component were included in this review. The study quality and risks of bias were measured with the GRADE and Cochrane Collaboration tools, and statistical analysis was performed utilizing RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS: The incidence of atelectasis was significantly lower in the postoperative rehabilitation intervention group (OR = 0.35; 95% CI, 0.18 to 0.67; I2 = 0%; P = 0.67) than in the control group. The patients who underwent the postoperative rehabilitation program that included breathing exercises (intervention group) had higher forced vital capacity (FVC) scores (MD = 0.24; 95% CI, 0.07 to 0.41; I2 = 73%; P = 0.02), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) scores (MD = 0.31; 95% CI, 0.03 to 0.60; I2 = 98%; P < 0.01) and FEV1/FVC ratios (MD = 9.09; 95% CI, 1.50 to 16.67; I2 = 94%; P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Postoperative rehabilitation interventions that included breathing exercises decreased the incidence rate of atelectasis and improved lung function by increasing the FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC ratio.

RESUMO

Adverse reactions to traditional Chinese medicine have hindered the healthy development and internationalization process of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. The critical issue that needs to be solved urgently is to evaluate the safety of traditional Chinese medicine systematically and effectively. Podophyllotoxin (PPT) is a highly active compound extracted from plants of the genus Podophyllum such as Dysosma versipellis (DV). However, its high toxicity and toxicity to multiple target organs affect the clinical application, such as the liver and kidney. Based on the concurrent effects of PPT's medicinal activity and toxicity, it would be a good example to conduct a systematic review of its safety. Therefore, this study revolves around the Toxicological Evidence Chain (TEC) concept. Based on PPT as the main toxic constituent in DV, observe the objective toxicity impairment phenotype of animals. Evaluate the serum biochemical indicators and pathological tissue sections for substantial toxic damage results. Using metabolomics, lipidomics, and network toxicology to evaluate the nephrotoxicity of PPT from multiple perspectives systematically. The results showed that PPT-induced nephrotoxicity manifested as renal tubular damage, mainly affecting metabolic pathways such as glycerophospholipid metabolism and sphingolipid metabolism. PPT inhibits the autophagy process of kidney cells through the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Nrf2/HO1 pathways and induces the activation of oxidative stress in the body, thereby causing nephrotoxic injury. This study fully verified the feasibility of the TEC concept for the safety and toxicity evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine. Provide a research template for systematically evaluating the safety of traditional Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

Brightening polymer-stabilized bistable cholesteric liquid crystal (PSBCLC) films with doped fluorescent dyes were prepared using the polymerization-induced phase separation (PIPS) method. The transmittance performance behavior of these films in both states (focal conic and planar) and absorbance change in multiple dye concentrations were studied using a UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometer. The change occurring in dye dispersion morphology with different concentrations was obtained by means of the polarizing optical microscope. The maximum fluorescence intensity of different dye-doped PSBCLC films was measured using a fluorescence spectrophotometer. Moreover, the contrast ratios and driving voltages of these films were calculated and recorded to demonstrate film performance. Finally, the optimal concentration of dye-doped PSBCLC films with a high contrast ratio and a relatively low drive voltage was found. This is expected to have great potential applications in cholesteric liquid crystal reflective displays.

RESUMO

Avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) can cause neoplastic diseases in poultry and is still widely prevalent in China. Chicken telomerase reverse transcriptase (chTERT) is the core component of telomerase, which is closely related to the occurrence and development of tumors. Our previous studies showed that chTERT is overexpressed in ALV-J tumors, but the mechanism is still not completely clear. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the possible molecular mechanism of chTERT overexpression in ALV-J tumors from the perspective of DNA methylation and promoter mutation. Methylation sequencing of the chTERT amplicon showed that ALV-J replication promoted the methylation level of the chTERT promoter. And the methylation level of the chTERT promoter in ALV-J tumors was significantly higher than that in tumor-adjacent and normal tissues. Compared with the tumor-adjacent and normal tissues, the chTERT promoter in each ALV-J tumors tested had a mutation of -183 bp C > T, and 36.0% (9/25) of the tumors also had mutations of -184 bp T > C, -73 bp::GGCCC and -56 bp A > T in the chTERT promoter, which formed the binding sites for the transcription factors NFAT5, TFAP2A and ZEB1, respectively. The results of RT-qPCR and Western blotting showed that the occurrence of these mutations significantly increased the expression level of chTERT. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that the high expression of chTERT in ALV-J tumors is positively correlated with the level of hypermethylation and mutation in its promoter, which provides a new perspective for further research on the molecular mechanism of chTERT in ALV-J tumorigenesis.

RESUMO

This research aimed to analyze the regulatory effect of chicken telomerase reverse transcriptase (chTERT) on the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway and its effect on the tumorigenicity of avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) through in vivo experiments. The chTERT eukaryotic expression plasmid and its recombinant lentivirus particles were constructed for in vivo transfection of chTERT to analyze the effect of chTERT continuously overexpressed in chickens on the tumorigenicity of ALV-J. During 156 days of the artificial ALV-J tumor-inducing process, 7 solid tumors developed in 3 chickens in the chTERT-overexpression group (n = 26*2) and no tumors developed in the control group (n = 26*2). Another 18 tumors induced by ALV-J were confirmed and collected from breeding poultry farms. And we confirmed that chTERT was significantly highly expressed in ALV-J tumors. The ELISA data suggested that the protein levels of ß-catenin and c-Myc in the chicken plasma of the chTERT-overexpressing group with ALV-J infected were consistently and significantly higher than those of the control group. Compared with that of the tumor-adjacent tissues, the activity of the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway and expression of the c-Myc was significantly increased in ALV-J tumors. And the percentage of apoptosis in ALV-J tumors significantly lower than that in tumor-adjacent tissues. Immunohistochemistry, Western blot and RT-qPCR suggested that the replication level of ALV-J in tumors was significantly higher than that in tumor-adjacent tissues. This study suggests that chTERT plays a critical role in the tumorigenicity of ALV-J by enhancing the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway, which will contribute to further elucidating the tumor-inducing mechanism of ALV-J.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The one-stage posterior approach for treating spinal infection has recently been generally accepted. However, severe vertebral body loss caused by infection remains a major challenge in posterior surgery. This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical application and outcomes of S1 alar screws used in the one-stage posterior surgery of short-segment lumbosacral fixation and fusion after debridement for infection with severe S1 vertebral body loss. METHODS: The clinical features and treatment outcomes of 7 patients with spinal infections from August 2016 to August 2021 who were treated with one-stage posterior surgery using S1 alar screws were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical data, including patient data, visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), fusion time and complications of the patients, were recorded. RESULTS: All 7 patients were followed up for an average duration of 14.57 months (range, 12-18 months). The VAS score decreased significantly from 7.3 preoperatively (range, 6-8) to 2.6 postoperatively (range, 2-3). The ODI score demonstrated a steady and gradual increase from 73.8 preoperatively (range, 68-75) to 33.6 postoperatively (range, 30-37). Bony fusion time was observed approximately 6.8 months after surgery. Two patients in our study experienced the postoperative local pain, which could be relieved by analgesics and disappeared 3 months after the operation. There were no complications of intraoperative fracture, posterior wound infection or neurovascular injury. CONCLUSIONS: S1 alar screws are suitable for use in the operation and could be an alternative option to S1 pedicle screws for short-segment lumbosacral fixation and fusion with severe S1 vertebral body loss caused by spinal infection, which could provide satisfactory clinical outcomes.

RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the mutual regulation between chicken telomerase reverse transcriptase (chTERT) and the Wnt/ß-catenin signalling pathway and its effects on cell growth and avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) replication in LMH cells. First, LMH cells stably overexpressing the chTERT gene (LMH-chTERT cells) and corresponding control cells (LMH-NC cells) were successfully constructed with a lentiviral vector expression system. The results showed that chTERT upregulated the expression of ß-catenin, Cyclin D1, TCF4 and c-Myc. chTERT expression level and telomerase activity were increased when cells were treated with LiCl. When the cells were treated with ICG001 or IWP-2, the activity of the Wnt/ß-catenin signalling pathway was significantly inhibited, and chTERT expression and telomerase activity were also inhibited. However, when the ß-catenin gene was knocked down by small interfering RNA (siRNA), the changes in chTERT expression and telomerase activity were consistent with those in cells treated with ICG001 or IWP-2. These results indicated that chTERT and the Wnt/ß-catenin signalling pathway can be mutually regulated. Subsequently, we found that chTERT not only shortened the cell cycle to promote proliferation but also inhibited apoptosis by downregulating the expression of Caspase 3, Caspase 9 and BAX; upregulating BCL-2 and BCL-X expression; and promoting autophagy. Moreover, chTERT significantly enhanced the migration ability of LMH cells, upregulated the protein and mRNA expression of ALV-J and increased the virus titre. ALV-J replication promoted chTERT expression and telomerase activity.

RESUMO

To assess heavy metal pollution and human health risk, a total of 28 topsoil samples were collected during four seasons from seven agricultural soil sites near a famous smelter in Jiyuan, China. The maximum concentrations of Cd, Pb, Hg, As, Zn, Cu, Ni, and Cr were 26.00, 2601.00, 3.29, 65.00, 410.00, 156.30, 54.80, and 73.60 mg kg-1, respectively. Compared with the sampling site nearest to the smelter, the concentrations of six metals at the farthest site were decreased significantly (P < 0.05). All sites were heavily contaminated, with Nemerow index (P) >3.0, and all sites had very high ecological risks related to Cd and Hg. The non-carcinogenic risk for children (based on combined exposure to the eight metals) was above the safety level. The carcinogenic risk of As for adults (8.98 × 10-6) and children (1.49 × 10-5) exceeded the acceptable level (1 × 10-6). Results suggest a serious health risk in the polluted areas, particularly for children.Abbreviation Cd: Cadmium; Pb: Lead; Hg: Mercury; As: Arsenic; Zn: Zinc; Cu: Copper; Ni: Nickel; Cr: Chromium; P: Nemerow index; RI: Potential ecological risk index; Ei: Monomial potential ecological risk of a specific heavy metal; HI: non-carcinogenic hazard index; CR: Carcinogenic risk; TN: Total nitrogen; TP: Total phosphorus; OM: Organic matter; MC: Moisture content; ADD: Average daily dose.

RESUMO

As a molecular and noninvasive detection technology, Raman spectroscopy is promising for use in the early diagnosis of tumors. The SNR of spectra obtained from portable Raman spectrometers is low, which makes classification more difficult. A classification algorithm with a high recognition rate is required. In this paper, an algorithm of entropy weighted local-hyperplane k-nearest-neighbor (EWHK) is proposed for the identification of the spectra. When calculating the weighted distance between the prediction and the sample hyperplane, EWHK introduces the information entropy weighting to improve the algorithm of adaptive weighted k-local hyperplane (AWKH). It can reflect all of the sample information in the classification objectively and improve the classification accuracy. The breast cancer detection experimental results of EWHK showed a significant improvement compared with those of AWKH and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). The EWHK classifier yielded an average diagnostic accuracy of 92.33%, a sensitivity of 93.81%, a specificity of 87.77%, a positive prediction rate of 95.99% and a negative prediction rate of 83.69% during randomized grouping validation. The algorithm is effective for cancer diagnosis.

RESUMO

Etomidate is a widely used hypnotic drug for induction of general anesthesia and sedation, especially in elderly patients and hemodynamically unstable patients. Myoclonus, however, is the most prominent problem during induction of anesthesia with etomidate. Many agents have been used to prevent it and opioid is one of them. This meta-analysis was to evaluate effects of opioids pretreatment for preventing etomidate-induced myoclonus. We searched the PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library databases and published studies in English updated to September 2015. Randomized controlled trials of opioids versus placebo/control in patients were included. We evaluated the prophylactic effect of opioids on etomidate-induced myoclonus. All statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Nine randomized controlled trials involving 604 participants were included. The results indicated that compared with placebo/control, opioids allow more patients to experience no myoclonic movements after etomidate injection [risk ratio (RR) 2.76, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.75-4.37, P < 0.0001]. The numbers of patients with mild myoclonus [(RR) 0.53, 95% (CI) 0.36-0.78, P = 0.001], moderate myoclonus [(RR) 0.36, 95% (CI) 0.23-0.55, P < 0.00001], and severe myoclonus [(RR) 0.20, 95% (CI) 0.08-0.52, P = 0.0009] after etomidate injection were significantly decreased with the pretreatment of opioids. This meta-analysis suggests that pretreatment with opioids before injecting etomidate was effective for preventing etomidate-induced myoclonus and can reduce the intensity of myoclonus without any adverse effects.

RESUMO

In this study, a Fe3O4@Au-based pseudo-homogeneous electrochemical immunosensor was prepared for detection of alpha fetoprotein (AFP), a well-known hepatocellular carcinoma biomarker. The primary antibody (Ab1) was immobilized on Fe3O4@Au NPs as the capture probe. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and secondary antibody (Ab2) were conjugated on gold nanoparticles (GNPs) through electrostatic adsorption to form signal-amplifying labels. In the presence of AFP, a sandwich immunocomplex was formed via specific recognition of antigen-antibody in a Fe3O4@Au-basedpseudo-homogeneousreaction system. After the immunocomplex was captured to the surface of magnetic glassy carbon electrode (MGCE), the labeling HRP catalyzed the decomposition of H2O2, resulting in a substantial current for the quantitative detection of AFP. The amperometric (i-t) method was employed to record the response signal of the immunosensor based on the catalysis of the immobilized HRP toward the reduction of H2O2 with hydroquinone (HQ) as the redox mediator. Under the optimal conditions, the amperometric current response presented a linear relationship with AFP concentration over the range of 20 ng/mL-100 ng/mLwith a correlation coefficient of 0.9940, and the detection limit was 0.64 ng/mL at signal/noise [S/N] = 3. Moreover, the electrochemical immunosensor exhibited higher anti-interference ability, acceptable reproducibility and long-term stability for AFP detection.

RESUMO

For achieving the development of a portable, low-cost and in vivo cancer diagnosis instrument, a laser 785 nm miniature Raman spectrometer was used to acquire the Raman spectra for breast cancer detection in this paper. However, because of the low spectral signal-to-noise ratio, it is difficult to achieve high discrimination accuracy by using the miniature Raman spectrometer. Therefore, a pattern recognition method of the adaptive net analyte signal (NAS) weight k-local hyperplane (ANWKH) is proposed to increase the classification accuracy. ANWKH is an extension and improvement of K-local hyperplane distance nearest-neighbor (HKNN), and combines the advantages of the adaptive weight k-local hyperplane (AWKH) and the net analyte signal (NAS). In this algorithm, NAS was first used to eliminate the influence caused by other non-target factors. Then, the distance between the test set samples and hyperplane was calculated with consideration of the feature weights. The HKNN only works well for small values of the nearest-neighbor. However, the accuracy decreases with increasing values of the nearest-neighbor. The method presented in this paper can resolve the basic shortcoming by using the feature weights. The original spectra are projected into the vertical subspace without the objective factors. NAS was employed to obtain the spectra without irrelevant information. NAS can improve the classification accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of breast cancer early diagnosis. Experimental results of Raman spectra detection in vitro of breast tissues showed that the proposed algorithm can obtain high classification accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. This paper demonstrates that the ANWKH algorithm is feasible for early clinical diagnosis of breast cancer in the future.

RESUMO

Combining Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) with endoscopy, it is expected that noninvasive, rapid detection of colorectal cancer can be performed in vivo in the future. In this study, Fourier transform infrared spectra were collected from 88 endoscopic biopsy colorectal tissue samples (41 colitis and 47 cancers). A new method, viz., entropy weight local-hyperplane k-nearest-neighbor (EWHK), which is an improved version of K-local hyperplane distance nearest-neighbor (HKNN), is proposed for tissue classification. In order to avoid limiting high dimensions and small values of the nearest neighbor, the new EWHK method calculates feature weights based on information entropy. The average results of the random classification showed that the EWHK classifier for differentiating cancer from colitis samples produced a sensitivity of 81.38% and a specificity of 92.69%.

RESUMO

The residual levels of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were examined in soils covering five types of land use along a salinity gradient on the Yellow River Delta. The most prominent OCPs were dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (∑DDT, arithmetic mean = 5.11 µg kg(-1)), hexachlorocyclohexane (∑HCH, 1.69 µg kg(-1)) and ∑endosulfan (10.4 µg kg(-1)). The spatial variability of OCPs composition shifted from γ-HCH and o,p'-DDT dominated pesticides in coastal soils to p,p'-DDE dominated pesticides in inland soils. In different land-use types, the percentages of ß-HCH and p,p'-DDE are characterized by more recalcitrant components in decreasing order of vegetable fields, cereal fields, cotton fields, wetlands and tidal flats with increasing soil salinity. However, the less recalcitrant components, γ-HCH and o,p'-DDT, showed an opposite trend. Endosulfan sulfate predominated in all land-use types. Residual levels of ß-HCH were affected by soil organic matter. The correlations between γ-HCH and clay content and between p,p'-DDE, o,p'-DDT and salinity might associate with the influence of sediment cotransport by the Yellow River and the density of anthropogenic activities in coastal region. Depth distribution of the OCPs in typical soil profiles also implied that local historical usage and sediment transport by the Yellow River both affected the OCPs residual in this region.

RESUMO

Because of ground observation instruments and other factors, we can not recognize the space target only from the external shape in the image. Since the reflection spectrum of the space target is determined by the surface material of space object, spectral analysis technique can be used for classifying the space objects. Based on the K-nearest neighbor algorithm (KNN), a method called adaptive weight k-local hyperplane (AWKH) is proposed in this paper. The main improvement of the algorithm is that weight discrimination is added in the processes of calculating the hyperplane distance between predicted samples. The algorithm constructs a hyperplane model by using the difference between the groups and within group ratio for the weights of features. In order to verify the classification effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm, this paper carried out four sets of verification experiments. In the first set of experiments, 9 kinds of common materials were extracted from the database of United State Geological Survey. Then 3 kinds of these materials were mixed into multi-class objections. In the second and third sets of experiments, the spectra of four normal space target materials were mixed in different classes. Then these classes were identified from the visible and near-infrared wave bands. In the fourth set of experiments, four square models of hexahedron were classified by the spectra of their surface material. The experimental results indicate that the AWKH algorithm has more advantages in identification accuracy and effectiveness of the complex samples by comparing with the support vector machine (SVM) method.

RESUMO

We experimentally demonstrate a broadband one-way transmission by merging the operating bands of two types of one-way edge modes that are associated with Bragg scattering and magnetic surface plasmon (MSP) resonance, respectively. By tuning the configuration of gyromagnetic photonic crystals and applied bias magnetic field, the fused bandwidth of unidirectional propagation is up to 2 GHz in microwave frequency range, much larger than either of the individual one-way bandwidth associated with Bragg scattering or MSP resonance. Our scheme for broadband one-way transmission paves the way for the practical applications of one-way transmission.

RESUMO

To achieve a unidirectional transmission waveguide with miniature dimensions and flexible geometry, we propose a self-guided unidirectional waveguide composed of a chain of gyromagnetic rods. Two configurations of the waveguides were demonstrated. One is of a zigzag chain form, the other is a straight-line chain. These two types of waveguides have very wide one-way edge mode bandwidths. The simulated and experimental results illustrate their extraordinary wideband one-way transmission characteristics. They can also be expected to function as flexible platforms for practical applications because of their thin transverse dimensions and robustness to bending.

RESUMO

In order to improve the prediction accuracy of quantitative analysis model in the near-infrared spectroscopy of blood glucose, this paper, by combining net analyte preprocessing (NAP) algorithm and radial basis functions partial least squares (RBFPLS) regression, builds a nonlinear model building method which is suitable for glucose measurement of human, named as NAP-RBFPLS. First, NAP is used to pre-process the near-infrared spectroscopy of blood glucose, in order to effectively extract the information which only relates to glucose signal from the original near-infrared spectra, so that it could effectively weaken the occasional correlation problems of the glucose changes and the interference factors which are caused by the absorption of water, albumin, hemoglobin, fat and other components of the blood in human body, the change of temperature of human body, the drift of measuring instruments, the changes of measuring environment, and the changes of measuring conditions; and then a nonlinear quantitative analysis model is built with the near-infrared spectroscopy data after NAP, in order to solve the nonlinear relationship between glucose concentrations and near-infrared spectroscopy which is caused by body strong scattering. In this paper, the new method is compared with other three quantitative analysis models building on partial least squares (PLS), net analyte preprocessing partial least squares (NAP-PLS) and RBFPLS respectively. At last, the experimental results show that the nonlinear calibration model, developed by combining NAP algorithm and RBFPLS regression, which was put forward in this paper, greatly improves the prediction accuracy of prediction sets, and what has been proved in this paper is that the nonlinear model building method will produce practical applications for the research of non-invasive detection techniques on human glucose concentrations.
