BACKGROUND: The study's objective is to evaluate if Molsidomine (MOL), an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic drug, is effective in treating hyperoxic lung injury (HLI). METHODS: The study consisted of four groups of neonatal rats characterized as the Control, Control+MOL, HLI, HLI + MOL groups. Near the end of the study, the lung tissue of the rats were evaluated with respect to apoptosis, histopathological damage, anti-oxidant and oxidant capacity as well as degree of inflammation. RESULTS: Compared to the HLI group, malondialdehyde and total oxidant status levels in lung tissue were notably reduced in the HLI + MOL group. Furthermore, mean superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and glutathione activities/levels in lung tissue were significantly higher in the HLI + MOL group as compared to the HLI group. Tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1ß elevations associated with hyperoxia were significantly reduced following MOL treatment. Median histopathological damage and mean alveolar macrophage numbers were found to be higher in the HLI and HLI + MOL groups when compared to the Control and Control+MOL groups. Both values were increased in the HLI group when compared to the HLI + MOL group. CONCLUSIONS: Our research is the first to demonstrate that bronchopulmonary dysplasia may be prevented through the protective characteristics of MOL, an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-apoptotic drug. IMPACT: Molsidomine prophylaxis significantly decreased the level of oxidative stress markers. Molsidomine administration restored the activities of antioxidant enzymes. Molsidomine prophylaxis significantly reduced the levels of inflammatory cytokines. Molsidomine may provide a new and promising therapy for BPD in the future. Molsidomine prophylaxis decreased lung damage and macrophage infiltration in the tissue.

Peptides are one of the leading groups of compounds that have been the subject of a great deal of biological research and still continue to attract researchers' attention. In this study, a series of tripeptides based on tyrosine amino acids were synthesized by the triazine method. The cytotoxicity properties of all compounds against human cancer cell lines (MCF-7), ovarian (A2780), prostate (PC-3), and colon cancer cell lines (Caco-2) were determined by the 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay method, and % cell viability and logIC50 values of the compounds were calculated. Significant decreases in cell viability were observed in all cells (p < 0.05). The comet assay method was used to understand that the compounds that showed a significant decrease in cell viability had this effect through DNA damage. Most of the compounds exhibited cytotoxicity by DNA damage mechanism. Besides, their interactions between investigated molecule groups with PDB ID: 3VHE, 3C0R, 2ZCL, and 2HQ6 target proteins corresponding to cancer cell lines, respectively, were investigated by docking studies. Finally, molecules with high biological activity against biological receptors were determined by ADME analysis.

In this study, we aimed to synthesize new peptide-substituted cyclotriphosphazenes from a series of tyrosine-based peptides and dioxyphenyl-substituted spirocyclotriphosphazenes, and to evaluate their in vitro cytotoxicity and genotoxicity activities. Genotoxicity studies were conducted to understand whether the cytotoxic compounds cause cell death through DNA damage. The structures of the novel series of phosphazenes were characterized by FT-IR, elemental analysis, MS, 1D (31P, 1H, and 13C-APT NMR), and 2D (HETCOR) NMR spectroscopic techniques. In vitro cytotoxic activities were carried out against human breast (MCF-7), ovarian (A2780), prostate (PC-3), colon (Caco-2) cancer cell lines and human normal epithelial cell line (MCF-10A) at different concentrations by using an MTT assay. The compounds showed considerable reductions in cell viability against all human cancer cell lines. Especially, the compounds exhibited notable effects in A2780 cell lines (p < 0.05). The IC50 values of the compounds in the A2780 cell line were calculated to be 1.914 µM for TG, 20.21 µM for TV, 20.45 µM for TA, 4.643 µM for TP, 5.615 µM for BTG, 1.047 µM for BTV, 27.02 µM for BTA, 0.7734 µM for BTP, 21.5 µM for DTG, 1.65 µM for DTV, 2.89 µM for DTA and 4.599 µM for DTP. DNA damage studies of the compounds were conducted by the comet assay method using tail length, tail density, olive tail moment, head length, and head density parameters, and the results showed that the cell death occurred through DNA damage mechanism. In a nutshell, these compounds show promising cytotoxic effects and can be considered powerful candidate molecules for pharmaceutical applications.

BACKGROUND: Meteorin-like hormone (Metrnl) is a peptide secreted from the adipose tissue and modulates the whole-body energy metabolism. Metrnl release into the circulation is influenced by obesity, cold exposure, and exercise. Thyroid hormones also exert many of their effects on metabolism through uncoupling proteins (UCPs). This study aimed to determine effect of Metrnl on hypothalamo-hypophysier-thyroid axis and energy metabolism and reveal the possible involvement of UCPs in this process. METHODS AND RESULTS: Fourty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 4 groups with 10 animals in each group: control, sham, 10 and 100 nM Metrnl. Hypothalamus, muscle, white adipose tissue (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT) samples were collected to detect thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), and UCP1 and UCP3 protein levels by western blot analysis. Serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) hormone levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Central infusion of Metrnl caused significant increase in serum TSH, T3 and T4 levels compared to control (p < 0.05). After Metrnl treatment, there were significant increases in TRH in hypothalamus tissue, UCP1 in WAT and BAT; and UCP3 protein in the muscle tissue (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The findings that Metrnl induced increases in the peripheral UCPs and hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis hormones implicate a role for this hormone in body energy homeostasis through UCP-mediated mechanisms.

Seven novel pyrazole derivatives (4a-g) and four novel starting compounds incorporating substituted pyridine moieties were synthesized successfully. Cell viability assay for the tested compounds was performed, and the inhibitory concentrationlogarithmic 50 (LogIC50 ) values of the compounds were calculated after a 24-h treatment. Four of the examined compounds (3d, 3g, 4f, and 4g) showed comparable cytotoxic activity against CaCo-2 compared to the standard drug docetaxel at 0.1 and 1 µM concentrations. Although the LogIC50  of docetaxel was -0.678 µM for CaCo-2 cells at 24 h, the LogIC50 values of compounds were -0.794, -0.567, -0.657, and -0.498 µM, respectively. Five of the compounds (2d, 2g, 3d, 3g, and 4e) showed comparable cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 at 0.1 µM concentration compared to docetaxel (p < 0.05). Docking studies revealed the compounds have a good affinity to the active site of the human topoisomerase II ß enzyme. The antioxidant capacities of all compounds were determined using both 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and metal chelation methods. Although the compounds did not show significant antioxidant activity, relatively effective are compounds 3c, 3d, and 3g, which are hydrazine derivatives with approximately 50% antioxidant activity of standard antioxidants at concentrations of 62.5 and 125 µg/ml.

In this study, hetero ring hexasubstituted cyclotriphosphazes were obtained in two steps and these compounds were investigated in terms of in vitro cytotoxicity and genotoxicity. The structural characterizations of the starting compounds 1-4 were defined by FT-IR, elemental analysis, and NMR (1H and 13C) spectroscopy techniques. In addition to these techniques, the 31P NMR spectroscopy technique was also used in the characterization of cyclotriphosphazenes (FSC 1-4). The changes in cell viability at 1, 5, 25, 50, and 100 µM concentrations against human ovarian (A2780) and human prostate (PC-3 and LNCaP) cell lines for 24 h were determined by the MTT assay method. According to MTT assay results, the inhibitory concentration 50 (IC50/LogIC50) value was calculated in Graphpad Prism 6 program. The comet assay was performed to determine whether the effects of compounds on cell viability were through DNA damage. In the comet assay experiments, the highest concentration of compounds (100 µM) was applied to the cells for 24 h and tail length (TL), tail intensity (TI), olive tail moment (OTM) parameters were examined. The results showed that the compound 1-4 and FSC 1-4 compounds reduced the cell viability against all cancer cell lines (p < 0.05). At the same time, different concentrations of these compounds caused DNA damage in all three cell types (p < 0.05). The possible interactions and chemical mechanisms of the synthesized compounds were explained by computational methods with molecular docking. In addition, pharmacological properties of drug candidate molecules have been defined. Experimental and calculated data comply with each other. The study results showed that these compounds have cytotoxic effects against cancer cells and suggested that these effects have occurred through genotoxicity.

Amino acid conjugates are described by the reaction of amino acids with bioactive organic groups such as vitamins, hormones, flavonoids, steroids, and sugars. In this study, 12 new conjugates were synthesized by reaction of cinnamic acid derivatives with various amino acids. Cytotoxic studies against four different human cancer cells (MCF7, PC-3, Caco-2, and A2780) were carried out by MTT assay method at five different concentrations. The structure-activity relationships based on the cell viability rates were evaluated. To compare the anticancer activities of the compounds using computational chemistry methods, they were docked against A2780 human ovarian cancer, Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF7), human prostate cancer (PC-3) and human colon epidermal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cell lines and compared with the standard 5-Fluorouracil. The results indicate that the efficacy of cinnamic acid derivatives increases with the presence of amino acids. Comet assay was conducted to understand whether the cell deaths occur through DNA damage mechanism and the results exhibit that the changes in the specified parameters were statistically significant (p<0.05). Our study demonstrated that the compounds cause cell death through the formation of DNA damage mechanism.

Salusin-ß (Sal-ß), which originates from preprosalusin, is a multifunctional hormone with a peptide structure. Sal-ß exists in the hypothalamus and can stimulate the pituitary gland. The present study was conducted to determine the effects of Sal-ß on hormones that play roles in the male reproductive system. Forty male Wistar Albino rats were used in the study. No infusions were performed on the control group, and infusions were applied to the infusion groups (artificial cerebrospinal fluid to the sham group, 2 and 20 nM Sal-ß to the experimental group) through intracerebroventricular infusion for 7 days at 10 µl/hour rate. The animals were decapitated after 7 days of infusion; and the hypothalamus, testicles, and blood tissue samples were collected. The gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) mRNA levels were determined from the hypothalamus tissues by using the Real Time-PCR Method, and the serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone levels were determined using the ELISA method. Also, Hematoxylin-Eosin Staining Method was used for histopathological evaluations in the testicle tissues. As a result, Sal-ß infusion increased GnRH mRNA levels in hypothalamus tissues (p < 0.05) besides, serum LH, FSH, and testosterone levels of the rats were higher at significant levels following Sal-ß infusion compared to the control and sham group (p < 0.05). In the histological examination of the testicle tissues, Sal-ß application was found to decrease the seminiferous tubule diameter and germinal epithelial thickness (p < 0.05). This evidence is the first, indicating that Sal-ß, which is administered to male rats with central infusion, stimulates hypothalamus and pituitary tissues, and causes increased secretion of male reproductive hormones.

Nine novel hydrazone derivatives (4a-i) incorporating pyridine and isatin moieties were synthesized through one-pot, four-component heterocyclic condensation reactions. The structures of all new compounds (2a-e, 3a, 3c-e, and 4a-e) were identified by 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13 C NMR, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. Cell viability assays for the tested hydrazone derivatives were performed and the log IC50 values of the compounds were calculated after a 24-h treatment. All hydrazide derivatives tested showed a promising antitumor activity against A-2780 cells as compared with the standard drug docetaxel with a log IC50 value of 0.2200 µM (p < .05). Seven of the examined compounds (4b-e, 4g-i) showed high cytotoxic activity against A-2780 cells as compared with the standard drug docetaxel. Whereas the log IC50 of docetaxel was 0.2200 µM for A-2780 cells at 24 h, the IC50 values of these compounds were -0.4987, -0.4044, -0.8138, -0.3868, -0.6954, -0.4751, and 0.1809 µM, respectively. Three of the compounds, 4b, 4d, and 4i, showed high cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 cells as compared with docetaxel (p < .05). Whereas the log IC50 of docetaxel was 0.2400 µM for MCF-7 cells at 24 h, the log IC50 values of compounds 4b, 4d, and 4i were -0.1293, -0.1700, and 0.2459 µM, respectively.

Aims: 17α-hydroxylase deficiency is a rare form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) which is inherited autosomal recessive. It occurs result of a mutations in gene cytochrome (CYP)17A1, which encodes both 17α-hydroxylase and 17,20-lyase enzymes. The main clinical findings of the disease are delayed puberty, primary amenorrhea in females, and disorders of sex development (DSD) in males. Also, hypertension and hypokalemia can be seen in both sexes. In this paper, we describe the clinical and genetic changes of two patients with 46,XY and 46,XX karyotypes from two different families who were diagnosed with complete 17α-hydroxylase enzyme deficiency.Methods: In this study various methods including clinical, hormonal, radiological and genetic analyzes were used. Blood samples were obtained for genetic tests. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocytes, and coding sequence abnormalities of the CYP17 gene were assessed by polymerase chain reaction and direct sequencing analysis.Results: 17α-hydroxylase deficiency was diagnosed in 2 patients with 46,XX and 46,XY karyotype who presented with hypertension and delayed puberty. The pQ80 * (c.238C > T) mutation detected in both cases was evaluated as a novel variant.

Irisin is a product of fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FNDC5) and plays an important role in energy homeostasis. In this study, we aimed to determine effects of intracerebroventricular administration of irisin on the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis by molecular, biochemical, and morphological findings. Fourty male Wistar-Albino rats were used and divided into four groups including control, sham (vehicle), 10, and 100 nM irisin infused groups (n = 10). Hypothalamic gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) level and serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and testosterone levels were determined. Testicular tissue histology and spermiogram analysis were also performed. Both irisin concentrations significantly reduced hypothalamic GnRH messenger RNA (mRNA) and protein levels (p < 0.05). It was found that serum LH, FSH, and testosterone levels and Sertoli and Leydig cell numbers were decreased by irisin administration (p < 0.05). In addition, irisin administration reduced sperm density and mobility (p < 0.05). However, it did not cause any change in testicular and epididymis weights and tubular diameter. Our results reveal that irisin can play a role in the central regulation of reproductive behavior and also reduces testosterone levels by suppressing LH and FSH secretion. These results suggest that the discovery of irisin receptor antagonists may be beneficial in the treatment of infertility.

The production of reactive oxygen species and inflammatory events are the underlying mechanisms of ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). It was determined that transient receptor potential melastatin-2 (TRPM2) channels and phospholipase A2 (PLA 2 ) enzymes were associated with inflammation and cell death. In this study, we investigated the effect of N-( p-amylcinnamoyl) anthranilic acid (ACA), a TRPM2 channel blocker, and PLA 2 enzyme inhibitor on renal IRI. A total of 36 male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: control, ischemia-reperfusion (I/R), I/R + ACA 5 mg, I/R + ACA 25 mg. In I/R applied groups, the ischemia for 45 minutes and reperfusion for 24 hours were applied bilaterally to the kidneys. In the I/R group, serum levels of the blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, cystatin C (CysC), kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), and interleukin-18 increased. On histopathological examination of renal tissue in the I/R group, the formation of glomerular and tubular damage was seen, and it was detected that there was an increase in the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), caspase-3, total oxidant status (TOS), and oxidative stress index (OSI); and there was a decrease in total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and catalase enzyme activity. ACA administration reduced serum levels of BUN, creatinine, CysC, KIM-1, NGAL, interleukin-18. In the renal tissue, ACA administration reduced histopathological damage, levels of caspase-3, MDA, TOS, and OSI; and it increased the level of TAC and catalase enzyme activity. It has been shown with the histological and biochemical results in this study that ACA is protective against renal IRI.

1,2,4-Triazoles are used as antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antioxidant against some oxidative radical species. Recently, many 1,2,4-triazoles continue to be synthesized. In this study, the effect of the 1,2,4-triazole derivatives on human colon cancer (HT29) was investigated in vitro and in vivo in rats. MTT test was applied to in in vitro experiments. For in vivo study, rats were divided into seven groups as follows: Control group (negative control), azoxymethane (AOM), AOM + cisplatin 15, AOM + L1, AOM + L2, AOM + L3, and AOM + L4. To create colon cancer, the AOM injection was injected subcutaneously at a dose of 15 mg/kg, three times (once weekly). The in vivo studies were completed at 28 weeks. It was found that the 1,2,4-triazole derivatives reduced the cell viability (P < 0.05). In all animals in the experimental groups, mild dysplasia was detected in 100% of the colon mucosal epithelium. Severe dysplasia and adenocarcinoma were observed in L1 groups. As a result, this study determined that the 1,2,4-triazole derivatives exhibit antitumor activity.

Kidney ischemia reperfusion (IR) injury is an important health problem resulting in acute renal failure. After IR, the inflammatory and apoptotic process is triggered. The relation of Cannabinoid type 2 (CB2) receptor with inflammatory and apoptotic process has been determined. The CB2 receptor has been shown to be localized in glomeruli and tubules in human and rat kidney. Activation of CB2 receptor with JWH-133 has been shown to reduce apoptosis and inflammation. In this study, it was investigated whether CB2 activation with selective CB2 receptor agonist JWH-133 was protective against renal IR injury. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 5 groups (n = 45). Bilateral ischemia was treated to the IR group rat's kidneys for 45 min and then reperfusion was performed for 24 h. Three different doses of JWH-133 (0.2, 1 and 5 mg/kg) were administered to the treatment groups at the onset of ischemia. The JWH-133 application at three different doses decreased the glomerular and tubular damage. Additionally, in the renal tissue, nuclear factor-κB, tumour necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1beta, and caspase-3 levels decreased immunohistochemically. Similarly, JWH-133 application decreased the serum tumour necrosis factor alpha, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, kidney injury molecule-1, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, Cystatin C, interleukin-18, interleukin-1beta, interleukin-6, and interleukin-10 levels. We found that JWH-133 and CB2 receptor activation had a curative effect against kidney IR damage. JWH-133 may be a new therapeutic agent in preventing kidney IR damage.

This article demonstrates the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives and their applications in medicine particularly as anti-breast cancer agents which is a major issue of the present. The synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and NMR. DFT was used to study the quantum chemical calculations of geometries and vibrational wave numbers of 3-hydroxynaphthyl and p-tolyl substituted 1,2,4-triazoles in the ground state. The scaled harmonic vibrational frequencies obtained from the DFT method were compared with those of the FT-IR spectra and found good agreement. The synthesized 1,2,4-triazole-naphthyl hybrids were screened for the anticancer activity against MCF-7 breast cancer lines. Among them compounds 3 and 7 showed broad spectrum anticancer activity with IC50 values 9.7 µM and 7.10 µM, respectively and their activity is comparable to that of the standard drugs. The molecular model for binding between the compounds (1-8) and the active site of BRCA2 was obtained on the basis of the computational docking results and the structure-activity relationship.

Dexmedetomidine (dex) is a potent, highly selective and specific α2-adrenoreceptor agonist. This experimental study was designed to investigate protective and therapeutic effect of two different doses of dex, on kidney damage induced by ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups, each including 10 animals: control group, ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) group; treated groups with 10 µg/kg of dex and 100 µg/kg of dex. After removing right kidney of the rats, the left kidney has performed ischemia during 40 min and reperfusion in the following 3 h. The histopathological findings, and also tissue superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) enzyme activity, malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), serum blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cre) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) levels were determined. In the I/R group, compared to the control group, levels of BUN, Cre and kidney tissue MDA have increased significantly, SOD, CAT enzyme activity and glutathione levels have decreased significantly. In the dex10 group, compared to the I/R group, levels of Cre and TNF-α have decreased significantly, while the SOD activity has increased significantly. In the dex100 group, compared to the I/R group, levels of BUN, Cre have decreased significantly, while the SOD activity has increased significantly. In the I/R group, there was also extensive tubular necrosis, glomerular damage in the histological evaluation. Dex ameliorated these histological damages in different amounts in two treatment groups. In this study, the protective effects of dex against renal I/R injury have been evaluated by two different amount of doses.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate albumin (ALB) gene variations in patients suspected from familial dysalbuminemic hyperthyroxinemia (FDH). METHODS: Eight Turkish patients were included into the study. Clinical and laboratory characteristics of the subjects and their parents were evaluated and genetic analysis were performed. RESULTS: In genetic analysis, a previously reported heterozygous, c.725G>A variant was detected in exon seven of the ALB gene. CONCLUSIONS: FDH is an asymptomatic condition however there is still a risk of misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment. Therefore, if FDH is considered, initial ALB hotspot sequencing as a rapid and simple method is recommended instead of complex and expensive laboratory and imaging techniques.

MOTS-c, a mitochondrial-derived peptide, acts as a systemic hormone and MOTS-c level is inversely correlated with markers of obesity. Obesity is a risk factor for male reproductive physiology and is expressed as an important cause of infertility. In this study, we aimed to determine the effects of MOTS-c, which has been proven in the hypothalamus and testicles, on the actors involved in the reproductive axis. In the study, 80 male Wistar-Albino rats were divided into two main groups, obese and non-obese (n = 40). Rats in the first main group were fed with fatty diet feed and obesity was induced. The second main group was fed with normal diet feed. Each main group was divided into 4 subgroups (Control, Sham, 10 and 100 µM MOTS-c). The lateral ventricles of the animals in the treatment groups were infused with 10 and 100 µM MOTS-c (solvent in Sham group) for 14 days. At the end of the experiment, hypothalamic Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) gene expression level, serum testosterone, Luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) levels were determined. MOTS-c infusion caused an increase in GnRH mRNA, protein expression levels and serum testosterone, LH and FSH levels in obese and non-obese rats (p < 0.05). MOTS-c administration more significantly upregulated hormone levels in non-obese rats (p < 0.05). MOTS-c administration increases these hormones, suggesting that MOTS-c may stimulate the reproductive axis. Our results reveal that MOTS-c plays a role in the central regulation of reproduction, as well as causes increased LH, FSH and testosterone release.

Objective: Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) are causes of pediatric syndromic obesity. We aimed to investigate a possible role for ghrelin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in the pathophysiology of PWS and BBS. Methods: The study included 12 children with PWS, 12 children with BBS, 13 pediatric obese controls (OC) and 12 pediatric lean controls (LC). Fasting serum ghrelin and GLP-1 levels were measured by ELISA. Results: In the PWS group, no significant difference was detected for median ghrelin levels when compared with OC and LC, which were 0.96 (0.69-1.15), 0.92 (0.72-1.20) and 1.13 (0.84-1.29) ng/mL, respectively. Similarly, there was no difference in PWS median GLP-1 levels when compared with OC and LC; 1.86 (1.5-2.94), 2.24 (1.62-2.78) and 2.06 (1.8-3.41) ng/mL, respectively. In the BBS group, there was no difference in median ghrelin levels when compared with OC and LC; 1.05 (0.87-1.51), 0.92 (0.72-1.20) and 1.13 (0.84-1.29) ng/mL, respectively. Neither was there a significant difference in median GLP-1 levels; 2.46 (1.91-4.17), 2.24 (1.62-2.78) and 2.06 (1.8-3.41) ng/mL for BBS, OC and LC, respectively. Conclusion: There were no differences in median fasting ghrelin or GLP-1 levels when comparing patients with PWS and BBS with obese or lean peers. However, similar studies with larger series are needed.
