BACKGROUND: Hepatitis A (HepA) vaccines are recommended for US adults at risk of HepA. Ongoing United States (US) HepA outbreaks since 2016 have primarily spread person-to-person, especially among at-risk groups. We investigated the health outcomes, economic burden, and outbreak management considerations associated with HepA outbreaks from 2016 onwards. METHODS: A systematic literature review was conducted to assess HepA outbreak-associated health outcomes, health care resource utilization (HCRU), and economic burden. A targeted literature review evaluated HepA outbreak management considerations. RESULTS: Across 33 studies reporting on HepA outbreak-associated health outcomes/HCRU, frequently reported HepA-related morbidities included acute liver failure/injury (n = 6 studies of 33 studies) and liver transplantation (n = 5 of 33); reported case fatality rates ranged from 0% to 10.8%. Hospitalization rates reported in studies investigating person-to-person outbreaks ranged from 41.6% to 84.8%. Ten studies reported on outbreak-associated economic burden, with a national study reporting an average cost of over $16 000 per hospitalization. Thirty-four studies reported on outbreak management; challenges included difficulty reaching at-risk groups and vaccination distrust. Successes included targeted interventions and increasing public awareness. CONCLUSIONS: This review indicates a considerable clinical and economic burden of ongoing US HepA outbreaks. Targeted prevention strategies and increased public awareness and vaccination coverage are needed to reduce HepA burden and prevent future outbreaks.

Laser surface cleaning is a promising surface-cleaning technique owing to its numerous benefits, including its noncontact behavior, ease of control, high precision, and no secondary waste generation. However, it cannot prevent airborne nanoparticle emissions during the laser cleaning process. Therefore, the effects of laser-cleaning parameters on airborne nanoparticle generation are analyzed to design potential remediation methods. In this study, the nanoparticles released during the laser cleaning of corroded 304L stainless steel surfaces were investigated. Electrical low-pressure impactor analysis and electron microscopy were conducted to determine how laser parameters influenced the size and amount of emitted nanoparticles. Based on these findings, the feasibility of the filtering emitted nanoparticles using high-efficiency particulate air filters was examined.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is closely related to some metabolic disorders, such as central obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D). Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), such as semaglutide, may have therapeutic roles in MASLD associated with T2D. This study aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the effectiveness of semaglutide on MASLD in terms of progression from liver steatosis to fibrosis. We characterized exosomes from ten patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) before (T0) and after 12 months (T12) of treatment with once-weekly subcutaneous semaglutide. Six of ten patients were considered responders to therapy (R) based on MASLD severity downgrading by at least one class according to a validated ultrasonographic (US) score. Normal hepatocytes (HEPA-RG) and stellate (LX-2) cells were challenged with exosomes from R and NR patients, isolated before and after 12 months of therapy. Exosomes from both R and NR patients isolated at T0 significantly affected LX-2 viability. After 12 months of treatment, only those isolated from R patients restored cell viability, whereas those from NR patients did not. No effects were observed on HEPA-RG cells. Exosomes at T12 from R but not from NR patients significantly decreased the production of α-SMA, a marker of LX-2 activation, a liver stellate cell model, and ph-SMAD2 and CTGF, involved in fibrosis processes. TGF-ß1 was not modulated by the exosomes of R and NR patients. As a downstream effect, Vimentin, Collagen 1A1, and Fibronectin extracellular matrix components were also downregulated, as measured by droplets digital PCR. In conclusion, these results shed light on the potential effectiveness of semaglutide in improving liver fibrosis in MASLD.

OBJECTIVES: Aerosols formed during dental treatments have a huge risk for the spread of bacteria and viruses. This study is aimed at determining which part of the working area and at what size aerosol is formed and ensuring more effective use of HEPA-filtered devices. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Anterior tooth preparation was performed by one dentist with one patient. Particle measurements were made using an airborne particle counter and were taken at four different locations: the chest of the patient, the chest of the dentist, the center of the room, and near the window. Three groups were determined for this study: group 1: measurement in a 24-h ventilated room (before the tooth preparation, empty room), group 2: measurement with the use of saliva ejector (SE), and group 3: measurement with the use of saliva ejector and HEPA-filtered extra-oral suction (HEOS) unit. RESULTS: The particles generated during tooth preparation were separated according to their sizes; the concentration in different locations of the room and the efficiency of the HEOS unit were examined. CONCLUSIONS: The present study showed that as the particle size increases, the rate of spread away from the dentist's working area decreases. The HEPA-filtered extra-oral suction unit is more effective on particles smaller than 0.5 microns. Therefore, infection control methods should be arranged according to these results. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: The effective and accurate use of HEPA-filtered devices in clinics significantly reduces the spread of bacterial and viral infections and cross-infection.

A series of experiments in stationary and moving passenger railcars was conducted to measure the removal rates of particles in the size ranges of SARS-CoV-2 viral aerosols, and the air changes per hour provided by the existing and modified air handling systems. The effect of ventilation and air filtration systems on removal rates and their effects on estimated probability (i.e., risk) of infection was evaluated in a range of representative conditions: (1) for two different ratios of recirculated air (RA) to outdoor air (OA) (90:10 RA:OA and 67:33 RA:OA); (2) using minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) filters with standard (MERV-8) and increased (MERV-13) filtration ratings; and (3) in the presence and absence of a portable high-efficiency particulate-air (HEPA) room air purifier system operated at clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 150 and 550 cfm. The higher-efficiency MERV-13 filters significantly increased particle removal rates on average by 3.8 to 8.4 hr-1 across particle sizes ranging from 0.3 to 10 µm (p < 0.01) compared to MERV-8 filters. The different RA:OA ratios and the use of a portable HEPA air purifier system had little effect on particle removal rates. MERV-13 filters reduced the estimated probability of infection by 42% compared to the MERV-8 filter. The use of a HEPA-air purifier with a MERV-13 filter causes a 50% reduction in the estimated probability of infection. Upgrading the efficiency of HVAC filters from MERV-8 to MERV-13 in public transit vehicles is the most effective exposure control method resulting in a clear reduction in the removal rates of aerosol particles and the estimated probability of infection.

We developed a high-speed filterless airflow multistage photocatalytic elbow aerosol removal system for the treatment of bioaerosols such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Human-generated bioaerosols that diffuse into indoor spaces are 1-10 µm in size, and their selective and rapid treatment can reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. A high-speed airflow is necessary to treat large volumes of indoor air over a short period. The proposed system can be used to eliminate viruses in aerosols by forcibly depositing aerosols in a high-speed airflow onto a photocatalyst placed inside the system through inertial force and turbulent diffusion. Because the main component of the deposited bioaerosol is water, it evaporates after colliding with the photocatalyst, and the nonvolatile virus remains on the photocatalytic channel wall. The residual virus on the photocatalytic channel wall is mineralized via photocatalytic oxidation with UVA-LED irradiation in the channel. When this system was operated in a 4.5 m3 aerosol chamber, over 99.8% aerosols in the size range of 1-10 µm were removed within 15 min. The system continued delivering such performance with the continuous introduction of aerosols. Because this system exhibits excellent aerosol removal ability at a flow velocity of 5 m/s or higher, it is more suitable than other reactive air purification systems for treating large-volume spaces.

This study aims to investigate the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in public spaces and assess the utility of inexpensive air purifiers equipped with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters for viral detection. Samples were collected from six community-based organizations in underserved minority neighborhoods in Northwest Miami, Florida, from February to May 2022. Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect SARS-CoV-2 in air purifier filters and surface swabs. Among 32 filters tested, three yielded positive results, while no positive surface swabs were found. Notably, positive samples were obtained exclusively from child daycare centers. These findings highlight the potential for airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in indoor air, particularly in child daycare centers. Moreover, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of readily available HEPA filters in detecting the virus. Improving indoor ventilation and implementing air filtration systems are crucial in reducing COVID-19 transmission where people gather. Air filtration systems incorporating HEPA filters offer a valuable approach to virus detection and reducing transmission risks. Future research should explore the applicability of this technology for early identification and mitigation of viral outbreaks.

OBJECTIVE: Black children and children from low-income communities are disproportionately affected by asthma, attributed partly to pollution exposure. Air purifiers reduce indoor air pollution and improve asthma symptoms in children. In order to implement air purifier interventions, an understanding of patterns of use and potential barriers is necessary. METHODS: In a home intervention study, 127 children with asthma living in Baltimore were randomized to receive two active or two placebo air purifiers. The 16-week study period included: baseline clinic visit, home visit for air purifier installation (active or placebo) with instruction to use the high or turbo settings, and electronic adherence monitoring of air purifiers. Determinants of adherence were identified using linear regression models. RESULTS: Air purifiers were used 80% of the time, and participants demonstrated adherence to high or turbo settings for 60% of the time. In an adjusted model, season was the major determinant of air purifier adherence, with 21% lower use in the winter (p = 0.025) attributed to the cold draft generated by the machine. CONCLUSION: In a clinical trial with electronic adherence monitoring, air purifier use was high and participants were adherent to use of high or turbo settings the majority of the time. Addressing practical barriers to consistent use, such as draft during the winter, in addition to financial barriers may improve air purifier adherence among children with asthma living in low-income, urban households. BACKGROUND: Data on pediatric asthma morbidity and effective environmental interventions in U.S. agricultural settings are few. We evaluated the effectiveness of HEPA air cleaners on asthma morbidity among a cohort of rural Latino children. METHODS: Seventy-five children with poorly controlled asthma and living in non-smoking homes were randomly assigned to asthma education alone or along with HEPA air cleaners placed in their sleeping area and home living room. The Asthma Control Test (ACT) score, asthma symptoms in prior 2 weeks, unplanned clinical utilization, creatinine-adjusted urinary leukotriene E4 (uLTE4 [ng/mg]), and additional secondary outcomes were evaluated at baseline, six, and 12 months. Group differences were assessed using multivariable-adjusted generalized estimating equations. Incident rate ratios of ever experiencing the metrics of poorer asthma health during follow-up (suboptimal asthma management) were estimated using Poisson regression models in secondary analysis. RESULTS: Mean child age was 9.2 and 8.6 years in intervention and control groups, respectively, and two-thirds of participants were male. Primary analysis of repeated measures of ACT score did not differ between groups (HEPA group mean change compared to controls 10% [95% CI: - 12-39%]). A suggestion of greater decrease in uLTE4 (ng/mg creatinine) was observed (- 10% [95% CI: - 20 -1%]). Secondary analysis showed children with HEPAs were less likely to have an ACT score meeting a clinically defined cutoff for poorly controlled asthma using repeated measures (IRR: 0.45 [95% CI: 0.21-0.97]). In Poisson models, intervention participants had reduced risk of ever meeting this cutoff (IRR: 0.43 [95% CI: 0.21-0.89]), ever having symptoms in the past 2 weeks (IRR: 0.71 [95% CI: 0.52-0.98]), and lower risk of any unplanned clinical utilization (IRR: 0.35 [95% CI: 0.13-0.94]) compared to control participants. DISCUSSION: The HAPI study showed generally improved outcomes among children in the HEPA air cleaner group. However, primary analyses did not meet statistical significance and many outcomes were subjective (self-report) in this unblinded study, so findings must be interpreted cautiously. HEPA air cleaners may provide additional benefit for child asthma health where traditional asthmagens (traffic, tobacco smoke) are not prominent factors, but larger studies with more statistical power and blinded designs are needed. Studies about the identification of SARS-CoV-2 in indoor aerosols have been conducted in hospital patient rooms and to a lesser extent in nonhealthcare environments. In these studies, people were already infected with SARS-CoV-2. However, in the present study, we investigated the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in HEPA filters housed in portable air cleaners (PACs) located in places with apparently healthy people to prevent possible outbreaks. A method for detecting the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in HEPA filters was developed and validated. The study was conducted for 13 weeks in three indoor environments: school, nursery, and a household of a social health center, all in Ciudad Real, Spain. The environmental monitoring of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 was conducted in HEPA filters and other surfaces of these indoor spaces for a selective screening in asymptomatic population groups. The objective was to limit outbreaks at an early stage. One HEPA filter tested positive in the social health center. After analysis by RT-PCR of SARS-CoV-2 in residents and healthcare workers, one worker tested positive. Therefore, this study provides direct evidence of virus-containing aerosols trapped in HEPA filters and the possibility of using these PACs for environmental monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 while they remove airborne aerosols and trap the virus.

The airliner cabin environment is very important to the health of passengers and crew members, and the use of high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters for recirculated air in the environmental control systems (ECS) is essential for the removal of airborne particles such as SARS CoV-2 aerosols. A HEPA filter should be high efficiency, low-pressure drop, high dust-holding capacity (DHC), lightweight, and strong for use in aircraft. We conducted an experimental study on 23 HEPA filters with glass fiber media that are used in different commercial airliner models. The tested filters had a median filtration efficiency of >99.97% for particles with a diameter of 0.3-0.5 µm, a pressure drop of 134-412 Pa at rated airflow rate, and a DHC of 32.2-37.0 g/m2 . The use of nanofiber media instead of glass fiber media can reduce the pressure drop by 66.4%-94.3% and significantly increase the quality factor by analysis of literature data. The disadvantages of poor fire resistance and small DHC can be overcome by the use of flame-retardant polymers and fiber structural design. As a new lightweight and environmentally friendly filter material, nanofiber media could be used as air filters in ECS in the future.

BACKGROUND: Immune checkpoint inhibitor-mediated immunotherapy cannot be carried out on a large scale clinically due to its low universality. In recent years, cyclic guanosine monophosphate synthase/interferon gene stimulating factor (cGAS/STING)-mediated innate immune signaling pathway-mediated immunotherapy has attracted more and more attention. In addition, metabolic inhibitors also show good effects on tumor treatment, but their application is often limited because of their large first pass effect or difficult administration. METHODS: The particle size and potential parameters were measured by DLS. In order to determine the optimal ratio of the two drugs, we calculated the CI value of different nanoparticles through MTT experiment, and simulated their synergistic effect through Gaussian software. Then the morphology and crystal form of the best proportion of drugs were studied by TEM and XRD. The anti-tumor mechanism of composite nanoparticles was confirmed by the determination of metabolic related indexes, Q-PCR and WB. The antitumor effect and immune activation effect were comprehensively evaluated by in vivo and in vitro experiments. RESULTS: Here, we found and synthesized BCP nanoparticles ((BPA + CPI) @ PLGA NPs) which can effectively reduce the metabolism of tumor cells and inhibit cell proliferation. At the same time, the release of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) caused by mitochondrial metabolism disorder further activated the cGAS/STING signal pathway in Hepa1-6 cells. We found that the drug-treated Hepa1-6 cells had obvious TBK1 phosphorylation and STING dimerization. Combined with STING agonist, it could effectively promote the activation of CD8 T cells and enhanced the therapeutic effect on liver cancer. CONCLUSION: Our results showed that PLGA nanocarrier can successfully improve the dosage forms of two metabolic inhibitors and show the effect of synergistic therapy. BCP nanoparticles can also activate the innate immunity of tumor cells and significantly enhance tumor inhibition after combined with STING agonists. This study has high reference and transformation value for the combined treatment of immunosuppression and metabolic inhibition.

The spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 affects the health of people and the economy worldwide. As air transmits the virus, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems in buildings, enclosed spaces and public transport play a significant role in limiting the transmission of airborne pathogens at the expenses of increased energy consumption and possibly reduced thermal comfort. On the other hand, liquid desiccant technology could be adopted as an air scrubber to increase indoor air quality and inactivate pathogens through temperature and humidity control, making them less favourable to the growth, proliferation and infectivity of microorganisms. The objectives of this study are to review the role of HVAC in airborne viral transmission, estimate its energy penalty associated with the adoption of HVAC for transmission reduction and understand the potential of liquid desiccant technology. Factors affecting the inactivation of pathogens by liquid desiccant solutions and possible modifications to increase their heat and mass transfer and sanitising characteristics are also described, followed by an economic evaluation. It is concluded that the liquid desiccant technology could be beneficial in buildings (requiring humidity control or moisture removal in particular when viruses are likely to present) or in high-footfall enclosed spaces (during virus outbreaks).

The purpose of this study was to determine if strategic placement of portable air purifiers would improve effectiveness of aerosol reduction in a space as compared to use as a general room air purifier. Two sizes of portable air purifiers were placed in two different positions intended to function similar to either a local exhaust ventilation hood or an air curtain to determine if strategic placement would lead to a reduction of particles in a worker's position at a desk in an office environment. Particle generators were used to introduce particulate into the air and personal aerosol monitors measured particles during each test condition. Results showed that when the medium room portable air purifiers used in this study were set to high, corresponding to 98 CFM, and placed near the breathing zone of each office worker with the unit's filter cover removed, the particle concentration was reduced 35% beyond the reduction that would be expected if the same units were placed on the floor behind the occupant's workstation. Results also indicated that the larger portable air purifier tested, positioned as close as reasonable to each occupant's breathing zone with the largest capture area possible (i.e., removing the unit's filter cover), delivers the best aerosol reduction performance. The authors concluded that as a layer of protection against transmission of airborne infectious organisms for office occupants, installing a portable air purifier, sized and operated similar to the units tested in this study on the desk 12 inches from the breathing zone of the worker, has the potential to reduce airborne particulate to a greater degree than if the same units were placed outside of the breathing zone, in the general cubicle area.

The proposed paper discusses Far UVC could assassinate microbes without harming healthy tissues. The plasma ion generation will increase the ion (O2 -) generation in abundance along with hydrogen ion (H+), and at the same time, the negative hydroxyl radical (OH-) formed will merge with the positive (H+) ion of the virus to break the structure of it. The silver nanoparticle which is present in the diffuser with thermostat support is very effective for destroying the microbial elements by heating the gel present within the diffuser. The gel will mix in the environment, and it will also increase the activity of T cell generation and act as an immunoglobulin booster in the human body while inhaling it. In the proposed device, we are using warm humidified CO2 strategic therapy in low dose which is able to suppress any microbial element like SARS-CoV2.

There is paucity of data on outcomes of MSD-HSCT in children with relapsed or high-risk AML from developing countries, which have unique challenges including adverse host factors and resource constraints. We retrospectively reviewed records of children (age ≤ 18 years) who underwent MSD-HSCT for AML at our center from 2009 to 2019 to evaluate clinical outcome and its predictors using Cox proportional hazards model. There were 46 children (36 boys and 10 girls) with mean age 10.7 ± 4.8 years. Indication for HSCT was relapsed AML in CR2 (n = 37), primary refractory (n = 3), or relapsed refractory disease (n = 3); high-risk (n = 1) or secondary (n = 2) AML in CR1. Five-year EFS and OS were 33.3 ± 7.2% and 36.3 ± 7.6%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, CR1 duration less than 12 months, presence of active disease at transplant, and use of bone marrow stem cell graft were associated with poorer EFS and OS. There was one (2.2%) TRM, while disease relapse occurred in 20/40 patients who underwent HSCT in remission. Though the 5-year EFS and OS were inferior to results reported from high-income countries, relapse (and not TRM) was the major cause of treatment failure. A well-sustained CR1, achievement of disease remission, and use of peripheral blood allograft seem imperative to a successful transplant. Targeted therapy along with HSCT may be the option for those with early relapse.

We conducted a randomized trial of portable HEPA air cleaners in the homes of children age 6-12 years with asthma in the Yakima Valley, Washington. All families received asthma education while intervention families also received two HEPA cleaners (child's bedroom, living room). We collected 14-day integrated samples of endotoxin in settled dust and PM10 and PM10-2.5 in the air of the children's bedrooms at baseline and one-year follow-up, and used linear regression to compare follow-up levels, adjusting for baseline. Seventy-one families (36 HEPA, 35 control) completed the study. Baseline geometric mean (GSD) endotoxin loadings were 1565 (6.3) EU/m2 and 2110 (4.9) EU/m2 , respectively, in HEPA vs. control homes while PM10 and PM10-2.5 were 22.5 (1.9) µg/m3 and 9.5 (2.9) µg/m3 , respectively, in HEPA homes, and 19.8 (1.8) µg/m3 and 7.7 (2.0) µg/m3 , respectively, in control homes. At follow-up, HEPA families had 46% lower (95% CI, 31%-57%) PM10 on average than control families, consistent with prior studies. In the best-fit heterogeneous slopes model, HEPA families had 49% (95% CI, 6%-110%) and 89% lower (95% CI, 28%-177%) PM10-2.5 at follow-up, respectively, at 50th and 75th percentile baseline concentrations. Endotoxin loadings did not differ significantly at follow-up (4% lower, HEPA homes; 95% CI, -87% to 50%).

We conducted a randomized trial of portable HEPA air cleaners with pre-filters designed to also reduce NH3 in non-smoking homes of children age 6-12 with asthma in Yakima Valley (Washington, USA). Participants were recruited through the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic asthma education program. All participants received education on home triggers while intervention families additionally received two HEPA cleaners (child's sleeping area, main living area). Fourteen-day integrated samples of PM2.5 and NH3 were measured at baseline and one-year follow-up. We fit ANCOVA models to compare follow-up concentrations in HEPA vs control homes, adjusting for baseline concentrations. Seventy-one households (36 HEPA, 35 control) completed the study. Most were single-family homes, with electric heat and stove, A/C, dogs/cats, and mean (SD) 5.3 (1.8) occupants. In the sleeping area, baseline geometric mean (GSD) PM2.5 was 10.7 (2.3) µg/m3 (HEPA) vs 11.2 (1.9) µg/m3 (control); in the living area, it was 12.5 (2.3) µg/m3 (HEPA) vs 13.6 (1.9) µg/m3 (control). Baseline sleeping area NH3 was 62.4 (1.6) µg/m3 (HEPA) vs 65.2 (1.8) µg/m3 (control). At follow-up, HEPA families had 60% (95% CI, 41%-72%; p < .0001) and 42% (19%-58%; p = .002) lower sleeping and living area PM2.5 , respectively, consistent with prior studies. NH3 reductions were not observed.

A 4-day-old, 3.3 kg infant presented with suspected intestinal malrotation, necessitating emergent diagnostic laparoscopy. Intra-operatively, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) came back positive. This is the first case report of emergency surgery and anesthesia in a positive SARS-CoV-2 newborn. This report highlights a neonate with an incidental positive SARS-CoV-2 test, no known exposure history, negative polymerase chain reaction maternal testing, and absence of respiratory symptoms who required modified pressure control ventilation settings to adequately ventilate with the high-efficiency particulate air filter in situ.

BACKGROUND: Public policy is increasingly recognized as an important component of physical activity promotion. This paper reports on the current status of physical activity policy development and implementation in four European countries based on the Health-Enhancing Physical Activity Policy Audit Tool (HEPA PAT) developed by WHO. It compares the findings to previous studies and discusses the general utility of this tool and its unique features in relation to other instruments. METHODS: The study was conducted as part of the Policy Evaluation Network ( www.jpi-pen.eu ) in Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland. Data collection built upon information obtained via the EU Physical Activity Monitoring Framework survey, additional desk research and expert opinion. Data analysis employed Howlett's policy cycle framework to map and compare national physical activity policies in the four countries. RESULTS: In all countries under study, policy agenda-setting is influenced by prevalence data from national health monitoring systems, and the sport and/or health sector takes the lead in policy formulation. Key policy documents were located mainly in the health sector but also in sport, urban design and transport. Physical activity programmes implemented to meet policy objectives usually cover a broad range of target groups, but currently only a small selection of major policies are evaluated for effectiveness. National experts made several suggestions to other countries wishing to establish physical activity policies, e.g. regarding cross-sectoral support and coordination, comprehensive national action plans, and monitoring/surveillance. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a detailed overview of physical activity policies in the four countries. Results show that national governments are already very active in the field but that there is room for improvement in a number of areas, e.g. regarding the contribution of sectors beyond sport and health. Using the HEPA PAT simultaneously in four countries also showed that procedures and timelines have to be adapted to national contexts. Overall, the instrument can make an important contribution to understanding and informing physical activity policy, especially when used as an add-on to regular monitoring tools like the EU HEPA Monitoring Framework.
