RESUMO

A simple soil moisture (SM) estimation method is proposed using apparent thermal inertia (ATI) and evapotranspiration (ET) data. Among the methods of estimating SM by using thermal infrared (TIR) remote sensing, the ATI method is widely used in bare soil and low vegetation areas. However, large surface ET will cause ATI error, resulting in lower accuracy of SM estimation. To overcome this problem, the potential of ATI-ET space for estimating the SM of bare and vegetated farmland in the dry season (no irrigation) is studied. ATI and ET data were used to construct triangle feature space, and six distance parameters are extracted from the positions of random pixels in the triangle. Some correlation estimates were made to derive those parameters that were useful for SM estimation, which were three in total. The SM estimation model consisting of these three parameters was built. Compared with the ATI model, the ATI-ET triangle model can not only be applied to areas with high ET, but also has higher accuracy in estimating SM. The ATI-ET triangle model is more suitable for application in bare soil and low vegetation areas. As the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index increases, the accuracy of the model estimates decreases. To show the high portability of the proposed model for SM estimation, we chose another set of in situ SM data acquired in Tibetan Plateau. The results proved the effectiveness of the model in other similar study regions.

Liquid carbon dioxide phase change fracturing technology (LCPCFT) has been widely used in engineering blasting due to the advantage of no flames, and no toxic and harmful gas. However, few studies have been conducted on the acquisition of shock wave pressure and its loading characteristics, which are key parameters in fracturing. Referring to the CO2 in-situ fracturing technology, an indoor test system for shock wave pressure generated during LCPCFT has been built, with a protected polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric sensor. Then three verification experiments with different radial distances between the fracturing tube and test points were carried out on the test system, and in each experiment, four PVDF sensors as four test points were arranged with different axial distance from the detonating point to test the pressure distribution. The experimental results show that when the radial distance between the fracturing tube and test points is not too large (≤345 mm), the pressure generated during LCPCFT is approximately uniformly distributed within the axial length of the fracturing tube, but when it is relatively large (≈895 mm), the results between different test points are in a certain degree of dispersion. And finally, this paper uses the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and coefficient of variation (CV) of peak pressure and impulse to process the test results to evaluate the reliability and stability of the test system. Evaluation results show that the test results are in good consistency. The test system in this paper has good stability and high reliability. The test system provides a useful tool for accurately obtaining the shock wave pressure, which is helpful for further research on LCPCFT.

Prediction of water-conducting fractured zone (WCFZ) of mine overburden is the premise for reducing or eliminating water inrush hazards in undersea mining. To obtain a more robust and precise prediction of WCFZ in undersea mining, a WCFZ prediction dataset with 122 cases of fractured zones was constructed. Five machine learning algorithms (linear regression, XGBRegressor, RandomForestRegressor, LineareSVR, and KNeighborsRegressor) were employed to develop five corresponding predictive models, taking multiple factors into account.The optimal parameters for each model are obtained through ten-fold cross-validation (10CV). The model's predictive performance was validated and assessed using two metrics, namely the coefficient of determination (R2) and mean squared error (MSE). A comparison was made with the regression performance of commonly used empirical formulas. The results indicate that the constructed model outperforms reliance solely on theoretical criteria, showing a high R2 value of up to 0.925 and a low MSE value of 3.61. The proposed model was validated in a recently established mining area on Sanshan Island, China. It shows low absolute and relative errors of 0.71 m and 2.01%, respectively, between the predicted value from the model and observation result from the field, demonstrating a high level of consistency with on-site conditions. This paves a path to leveraging machine learning algorithms for predicting the height of WCFZ.

There is higher long-term failure of the saphenous vein graft (SVG) compared with the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft, which is affected by the hemodynamic environment. A comprehensive analysis of postoperative structure-function changes is important to study the atherogenesis in the SVG A comparison of morphometric and hemodynamic parameters was carried out between LIMA grafts and SVGs and between different time points postoperatively. Various parameters were obtained from the image reconstruction and flow simulation in patients, who underwent CT exams for ~1 year, 5 and 10 years after revascularization. Morphometric data showed a decrease in lumen size in the entire SVG and anastomosis of different patients in a sequence of ~1 year, 5 and 10 years postoperatively despite negligible changes of LIMA size. Computational results indicated the fourfold increased surface area ratio (SAR) of low time-averaged wall shear stress (TAWSS) in the SVG and anastomosis at postoperative 10 years than that at postoperative ~1 year. The SAR of high TAWSS gradient (TAWSSG) at the distal anastomosis between SVG and coronary arteries was significantly higher (14 ± 9% vs. 6 ± 8%) than that in the LIMA group at postoperative ~1 year. There were strong correlations between morphometric and hemodynamic parameters in the SVG and distal anastomosis at various time points postoperatively, which showed deterioration relevant to persistent diffuse diseases at postoperative ~10 years.
