RESUMO

Background: Dynamic chest radiography (DCR) is a novel and supplementary examination in respiratory diseases. The investigation of other chest diseases using DCR has been explored, identifying a certain correlation of the pulmonary function test (PFT). However, there is a lack of research using DCR parameters to quantitatively evaluate chest disease. The purpose of this study was to investigate the diagnostic value of DCR for diaphragm paralysis (DP). Methods: This retrospective study recruited 118 participants, which include 18 patients with DP, 48 healthy volunteers, and 52 patients with respiratory disease. Comparison of DCR parameters relationships among 3 groups was performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis test. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to compare the value of the DCR parameters to diagnose DP. Results: The differences of excursion of diaphragm (ED) in normal (nb) and forced breathing (fb), ED(fb)-ED(nb), and the parameters of projected lung area (PLA) in inspiratory (ins) and expiratory phase (exp), PLA.exp(fb), PLA.ins(fb)-PLA.ins(nb), and PLA.exp(fb)-PLA.exp(nb) among the 3 groups were statistically significant. The highest area under the curve (AUC) of right-side parameter was the ED(fb)-ED(nb), for which the AUC was 0.8950 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.7618-1.000], whereas that of the left-side parameter was ED(fb), for which the AUC was 0.9176 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.8524-0.9829]. Conclusions: The parameters of DCR have good diagnostic value for DP. The highest diagnostic efficiency for DP on the right side is the ED(fb)-ED(nb), with a sensitivity of 95% and a specificity of 78.6%, whereas on the left side is ED(fb), with a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 88.2%.

RESUMO

Background: Chest dynamic digital radiography (DDR) is used as a supplementary tool for the routine pulmonary function test (PFT); however, its potential as a novel standard PFT method has yet to be explored. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the correlation between the change in the projected lung area (ΔPLA) and forced vital capacity (FVC) using chest DDR, and to establish a DDR-FVC estimation model and a predictive value model for the ΔPLA. Methods: In total, 139 participants who underwent chest DDR and the PFT in the same period at The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from April 2022 to February 2023 were prospectively included in the study. The patients' age, gender, height, and weight measurements were recorded. Additionally, the ΔPLA was measured, and the IWS workstation software was used for automated outlining and calculation. Subsequently, a correlation analysis and regression analysis models were employed to examine the relationship between the ΔPLA, FVC, and individual physiological characteristics. Additionally, an independent sample t-test was used to determine whether there were any significant differences between the normal and abnormal FVC groups. Results: The 139 participants were grouped according to the results of the ratio of measured/predicted FVC values (FVC%pred); those with an FVC%pred ≥80%, were allocated to the normal FVC group, and those with an FVC%pred <80% were allocated to the abnormal FVC group. The correlation coefficient was >0.8 in the full sample; the ΔPLA showed a significant linear correlation with the measured FVC value [r=0.81, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.75-0.86, P<0.001]. There was a significant difference in the ΔPLA between the normal and abnormal FVC groups. With the ΔPLA, age, gender, height, and weight as predictor variables, the following DDR-FVC estimation model was established: DDR-FVC estimation model = -0.997 + 1.35×10-4 × ΔPLA + 0.017 × height - 0.014 × age + 0.249 × gender (1 for male and 0 for female) [adjusted R2 (adj. R2)=0.731, F=94.615, P<0.001]. The following formula was used to determine the predictive value of the ΔPLA: Predictive value of ΔPLA = -12,504.287 + 173.185 × height + 62.971 × weight - 84.933 × age (adj. R2=0.393, F=20.453, P<0.001). Conclusions: There was a linear correlation between the ΔPLA measured by biphasic chest DDR and the FVC. A model for estimating the FVC was established based on the ΔPLA, which allows the FVC to be assessed by the ΔPLA measured by biphasic chest DDR. A predictive value model for the ΔPLA was also established to provide ΔPLA reference values for assessment and comparison.

RESUMO

A series of novel pyrazolyl acrylonitrile derivatives was designed, targeting Tetranychus cinnabarinus, and synthesized. Their structures were identified by combination of 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and MS spectra. The structures of compounds 18 and 19 were further confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Extensive greenhouse bioassays indicated that compound 19 exhibits excellent acaricidal activity against all developmental stages of T. cinnabarinus, which is better than the commercialized compounds cyenopyrafen and spirodiclofen. It was shown that the acute toxicity of compounds 19 to mammals is quite low. The structure-activity relationships are also discussed.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Pyridalyl, consisting of dicholoro-allyoxy-phenol moiety, is a novel class of insecticide showing extraordinary activities against various lepidopterous and thysanopterous pests on cotton and vegetables. To discover further novel insecticides, a series of new dichloro-allyloxy-phenol derivatives containing substituted pyrazol-3-ol moieties were designed and synthesised via the intermediate derivatisation method. RESULTS: The target compounds were characterised by (1) H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis. Bioassays indicated that some of these compounds exhibited good insecticidal activities against diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) at 6.25 mg L(-1) . The structure-activity relationship is discussed. CONCLUSION: The present work demonstrates that dichloro-allyloxy-phenol derivatives with substituted phenylpyrazole moieties can be used as lead compounds to develop further novel insecticides.
