ABSTRACT
Intermittent exotropia is a common form of childhood strabismus, which is mainly treated by surgery. However, there are still controversies about the natural course of the disease, the assessment of the disease severity, the choice of the surgery time, the determination of the target eye position and the choice of the treatment method. This article reviews the clinical research progress of intermittent exotropia, aiming to provide the basis for the early detection, scientific diagnosis and standard treatment of intermittent exotropia.
