Lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase activity and HDL composition in serum of patients with kidney transplants.

ABSTRACT

In comparison with a control group, lecithincholesterol acyltransferase activities and HDL-cholesterol concentrations in serum of patients with kidney transplants were unchanged, while apolipoprotein A and HDL-triglyceride concentrations were increased. This constellation shows that the cholesterol metabolism in patients with kidney transplants differs from that of patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis.
