Tetracanthella doftana sp. nov. (Collembola, Isotomidae) from Romania, with a key to Carpathian Tetracanthella Schott, 1891.

A new species of the Tetracanthella pilosa group is described from Romanian Carpathians. T doftana sp. nov. is similar to T. andalusiaca Deharveng, 1987. They differ by the number of sublobal hairs, size of macrochaetae and distribution. A key to Carpathian Tetracanthella Schott, 1891 species is also given.

A new species and new records of the genus Hypogastrura Bourlet, 1839 (Collembola, Hypogastruridae) from Iran.

Hypogastrura persica sp. nov. is described from the Zagros Mountains (Kermanshah Province, Iran). The new species can be distinguished from two nearest congeners, namely H. exigua Gisin, 1958 (Alps) and H. magistri Babenko, 1994 (Siberia), by the body size, the number of sensilla on antennal segment IV, the number of setae on dens and ventral tube as well as chaetotaxy of abdominal terga IV and V. Three species of the genus, viz. H. martiani Skarzynski & Kaprus', 2009, H. purpurescens (Lubbock, 1867) and H. socialis (Uzel, 1891), have been recorded from Iran for the first time.

Active postlarval forms of plume-footed Eatoniana (Trombidiformes: Parasitengona, Erythraeidae) in the Eocene Baltic amber.

The discovery of active postlarval forms (deutonymph and adult) of erythraeid Eatoniana in Eocene Baltic amber is associated with the first description of named fossil species assigned to that genus. Species of Eatoniana, having the plume-like setae on terminal segments of leg IV, reveal the high consistency of characters, confirmed both for extinct and extant members of the genus. The main difference between Eatoniana crinita sp. nov. and other "plume-footed" congeners is the shape of modified setae arising at genu and tibia IV.

The first description of a microtrombidiid mite (Actinotrichida: Prostigmata, Microtrombidiidae) from Baltic amber, with notes on related extant genera and species.

Discovery of parasitengone mites (Acari) in the Gulf of Gdansk deposits of Baltic amber ("Blue Earth" sediment) resulted in the first description of a fossil representative of Microtrombidiidae. The new species, based on larvae, displays affinity to recent members of Montenegtrombium Saboori and Pesic, 2006, Persianthrombium Sedghi, Saboori and Hakimitabar (in Sedghi et al. 2010) and Porttrombidium Haitlinger, 2000, known from the southwestern Palaearctic. A comparison with related genera and species places the newly described taxon in Porttrombidium (as Porttrombidium gedanense sp. nov.). Montenegtrombium is regarded as a junior synonym of Porttrombidium.

A fossil Paratrombiinae mite (Actinotrichida: Trombidioidea) from the Rovno amber, Ukraine.

The first description of a fossil representative of Paratrombiinae from the Rovno amber, Paratrombium rovniense sp. nov., based on an unengorged larva, is provided. The discovery results in a re-definition of the Paratrombiinae and of Paratrombium, which also comprise species with two pectinalae on coxa I.
