RESUMEN
BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between HALP score and post-contrast acute kidney injury (PC-AKI) and average 6-year mortality in patients undergoing endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). METHODS: 125 patients who underwent EVAR between January 2015 and December 2020 were included in our study. HALP score was calculated with the formula "hemoglobin × albumin × lymphocyte count/platelet count." In the first phase of the study, two groups were developed: those who developed PC-AKI and those who did not. In the second stage, statistical analysis was performed by creating two groups: average 6-year mortality and survivors group. RESULTS: HALP score was found to be lower in the PC-AKI group [26.12 (14-61.54) versus 40.53 (7.22-103.61); p < .001]. Low HALP score was found to be both a dependent and independent predictor of the development of PC-AKI (p = .019). HALP score was also found to be lower in the mortality group compared to the survivors [28.97 (12.6-103.61) versus 40.81 (7.22-99) p = .004]. Low HALP score was found to be only a dependent predictor of mortality. The development of PC-AKI was found to be an independent predictor of mortality (p = .042). CONCLUSIONS: The HALP score, which can be calculated with a simple formula, can be used to predict PC-AKI and medium-long-term mortality in EVAR patients.
RESUMEN
BACKGROUND AND AIM: This study aims to examine the relationship between the QRS-T angle (QRS-Ta) detected on electrocardiography and left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LV-GLS) calculated on echocardiography in prehypertensive patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 300 patients were included in our study, and the median value of QRS-Ta of the entire population was 27.The patients were divided into two groups (supramedian 148 patients, inframedian 152 patients) according to the median value. Statistical analysis was performed between the two groups. RESULTS: LV-GLS was lower in the supramedian QRS-Ta group [20 (16-26) vs. 21 (16-27); p < 0.001]. A statistical difference was found between the two groups in age (p < 0.001), BMI (p < 0.001), Hs-troponin I (p < 0.001), aortic velocity (p = 0.023) and TAPSE (p = 0.005) parameters except for LV-GLS.The correlation between QRS-Ta and LV-GLS was determined by Spearman's correlation test (p < 0.001).In the multivariable logistic regression analysis model, LV-GLS (OR: 0.365, 95%CI 0.171-0.780, p = 0.009) was one of the independent predictors for increased QRS-Ta. Others were determined as age (p < 0.001) and TAPSE (p = 0.015). CONCLUSIONS: In this study, a strong relationship was found between QRS-Ta, which is easily calculated by ECG, and LV-GLS, which is an advanced echocardiographic examination, in prehypertensive patients.

OBJECTIVE: We tried to reveal how the normal appearing white matter (NAWM) was affected in patients with glioblastoma treated with chemo-radiotherapy (CRT) in the period following the treatment, by multiparametric MRI. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 43 multiparametric MRI examinations of 17 patients with glioblastoma treated with CRT were examined. A total of six different series or maps were analyzed in the examinations: Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) and Fractional Anisotropy (FA) maps, Gradient Echo (GRE) sequence, Dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) and Arterial spin labeling (ASL) perfusion sequences. Each sequence in each examination was examined in detail with 14 Region of Interest (ROI) measurements. The obtained values were proportioned to the contralateral NAWM values and the results were recorded as normalized values. Time dependent changes of normalized values were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: The most prominent changes in follow-up imaging occurred in the perilesional region. In perilesional NAWM, we found a decrease in normalized FA (nFA), rCBV (nrCBV), rCBF (nrCBF), ASL (nASL)values (p < 0.005) in the first 3 months after treatment, followed by a plateau and an increase approaching pretreatment values, although it did not reach. Similar but milder findings were present in other NAWM areas. In perilesional NAWM, nrCBV values were found to be positively high correlated with nrCBF and nASL, and negatively high correlated with nADC values (r: 0.963, 0.736, - 0.973, respectively). We also found high correlations between the mean values of nrCBV, nrCBF, nASL in other NAWM areas (r: 0.891, 0.864, respectively). DISCUSSION: We showed that both DSC and ASL perfusion values decreased correlatively in the first 3 months and showed a plateau after 1 year in patients with glioblastoma treated with CRT, unlike the literature. Although it was not as evident as perfusion MRI, it was observed that the ADC values also showed a plateau pattern following the increase in the first 3 months. Further studies are needed to explain late pathophysiological changes. Because of the high correlation, our results support ASL perfusion instead of contrast enhanced perfusion methods.

BACKGROUND: In the present article, we present our first experiences with a new type of balloon-expandable Myval valve (Meril Life Sciences, Gujarat, India). MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 25 consecutive patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) from June 2020 to November 2020 were included in the study. RESULTS: The mean age of the study population was 83 (75-87) years; 17 (68%) were female, and 20 (80%) had hypertension. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) score of the group was 5.4%⯱ 3.5%. TAVI was performed via the transfemoral route on all patients. In 19 (76%) cases, we started the procedure without predilation. In two (10.5%) cases performed without predilation, the prosthesis did not pass the native valve. We had to implant the valve from the descending aorta in one (4%) patient. We used Prostar XL (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, CA, USA) for six (24%) patients and ProGlide (Abbott Vascular) for 19 (76%) patients for vascular closure. Two (8%) in-hospital deaths occurred in our study but there were no deaths in the 30-day and 90-day follow-up. Vascular complications were observed in one (4%) patient. None of the patients in our study had severe paravalvular leak (PVL), while two (8%) patients had moderate PVL. A permanent pacemaker (PPM) was required in two (8%) patients for the indication of complete atrioventricular block. The mean hospital stay for the whole group was 4 (3-7) days. CONCLUSION: Based on our experiences, the new balloon-expandable valve Myval is easy to use, efficient, and has only a few negligible drawbacks such as the need for predilation of the sheath. While shaft flexibility may have advantages in some situations including in very tortuous arteries, it may cause some difficulties in alignment of the valves.

Background: Evidence that individuals with excess fat in the pancreas have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease has been growing recently. Risk evaluation in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients plays a crucial role for both prognosis prediction and decision-making. Aim: The main aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease (NAFPD) and the complexity and severity of coronary artery disease as assessed using the SYNTAX score (SXscore) in ACS patients. Methods: A total of 99 consecutive patients with a first-time diagnosis of ACS were recruited. NAFPD was evaluated using transabdominal ultrasonography (TUS). SXscore was calculated using the SXscore algorithm. Results: The patients with NAFPD had a significantly higher SXscore than those without NAFPD (12.3 ± 6.4 and 8.2 ± 4.3, p < 0.001). Univariable analysis showed that hypertension (p = 0.033) and presence of NAFPD (p = 0.001) were associated with increased SXscore. Moreover, multivariable analysis showed that the presence of NAFPD (p = 0.002) was associated with increased SXscore. Conclusions: NAFPD is easily detected by TUS. The presence of NAFPD in ACS patients may be a warning signal of complexity and severity of coronary artery disease.
RESUMEN
BACKGROUND: P-wave duration and P-wave dispersion (PWD) are thought to be the surrogate marker of devoloping atrial fibrillation (AF). The main purpose of present study was to investigate the association between presystolic wave (PSW), aortic valve sclerosis, and PWD. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patients with sinus rhythm admitted to the cardiology outpatient clinic were consecutively enrolled. Maximum (Pmax) and minimum (Pmin) P-wave duration and PWD were measured. Echocardiography was used to assess the aortic valve morphology and presence of PSW. The patients were divided into two groups according to presence or absence of AVSc and PSW. RESULTS: A total of 100 patients were enrolled consecutively. Patients with both PSW and AVSc had higher PWD values compared with those without PSW (42 ± 15 vs 65 ± 20) and AVSc (52 ± 21 vs 69 ± 19). The patients were categorized on the basis of median PWD values. According to univariate analysis, there was significant association between PWD and presence of PSW (P: .004), presence of AVS (P: .011), hypertension (P: .01) interventricular septal thickness (IVST) (P: .026), and posterior wall thickness (PWT) (P: .022). Multivariate logistic regression analyses demonstrated presence of PSW (95% confidence interval (1.058-6.505, P: .037) as an independent determinant of PWD. CONCLUSION: Assessment of presystolic A-wave on echocardiography examination may provide important information regarding the atrial conduction velocities that is a electrophysiological cause of AF. While there was a significant association between AVSc and PWD in univariate analysis, this significance disappeared in multivariate analysis.

OBJECTIVES: Stiffness of large arteries has been related to cardiovascular mortality. Cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) is a novel marker of arterial stiffness. Herein, we aimed to study the relationship between fragmented QRS (fQRS) in electrocardiogram and CAVI. METHODS: Asymptomatic patients with fQRS and without fQRS were enrolled in the study consecutively. The fQRS complexes were analyzed in the 12-lead electrocardiogram. Arterial stiffness was assessed by using cardio ankle vascular index (CAVI). It was measured by a VaSera VS-1000 CAVI instrument. RESULTS: CAVI values of the patients with fQRS was significantly higher compared to those without fQRS (8.625 (7.9-9.2) versus 6.65 (6.7-8.4) p < .001). In a univariate analysis, it was revealed that there was a significant correlation between increased CAVI and fQRS, age, and epicardial fat thickness. Multiple binary logistic regression analysis revealed that age [95% confidence interval (CI): 1,068-1.214, p < .001] and fQRS [95% (CI): 1.766-23.117, p: 0.005] were the independent determinants of increased CAVI values. CONCLUSIONS: ECG is a widely and readily available, inexpensive, reproducible technique that can be examined by almost every physician. fQRS values in electrocardiogram may provide a significant predictive value for arterial stiffness in asymptomatic subjects.

OBJECTIVES: Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) is a life-threatening complication that leads to comorbidities and prolonged hospital stay lengths in the setting of peripheral interventions. The presence of some CI-AKI risk factors has already been investigated. In this study, we evaluated the predictors of CI-AKI after carotid artery stenting. METHODS: A total of 389 patients with 50% to 99% carotid artery stenosis who underwent carotid artery stenting were included in this study. Patients were grouped according to CI-AKI status. RESULTS: CI-AKI developed in 26 (6.6%) patients. Age, baseline creatinine level, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio were higher and estimated glomerular filtration rate, haemoglobin and lymphocyte count were lower in CI-AKI patients. In the multivariate regression analysis, the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio triggered a 1.39- to 2.63-fold increase in the risk of CI-AKI onset (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio may be a significant predictor of CI-AKI in patients with carotid artery stenting and higher neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio values may be independently associated with CI-AKI.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: New-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) has been associated with poor outcome in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Also, Syntax score (SS) is a scoring system that is derived from angiographic images and is associated with long-term mortality and major adverse cardiac events. In this study, we aimed to assess the relationship between SS and NOAF with known predictors of atrial fibrillation. METHODS: In a prospective, single-center, cross-sectional study, 692 patients who were diagnosed with coronary artery disease for the first time were enrolled consecutively. NOAF was defined as atrial fibrillation, which was documented after hospital admission. SS was calculated by a computer software. Multivariable logistic regression analyzes were used to detect the relationship between variables and NOAF. RESULTS: New-onset atrial fibrillation was detected in 82 patients (11.8%). Patients with NOAF had higher SS (22, interquartile range 18.3-25.1, vs. 12, interquartile range 7-19.5, p < 0.001). According to multivariable logistic regression analysis for NOAF, SS were independently and significantly associated (OR, 1.103; 95% confidence interval, 1.047-1.163; p < 0.001). Other independent predictors of NOAF were TIMI flow <3, C reactive protein, left ventricular ejection fraction, left atrial volume index and E/E' ratio. The optimal cut-off value for SS was 18 for the development of NOAF with 82% sensitivity and 68% specificity (area under the curve: 0.795, 95% confidence interval 0.749-0.841, p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Syntax score may be helpful to identify for patients who would develop atrial fibrillation in the setting of ACS.

INTRODUCTION: Carotid intima media thickness (CIMT), a direct marker of atherosclerosis, has emerged as a promising means for cardiovascular risk evaluation. Presystolic wave (PSW) is commonly detected by the Doppler interrogation of the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT). It is thought to be a result of a stiff left ventricle and impaired LV compliance. Herein, we aimed to investigate a possible association between carotid intima media thickness, an atherosclerotic marker, and PSW. METHOD: We prospectively enrolled 282 patients divided into two groups based on the presence of PSW: 221 (89F; mean age: 49.3 ± 11.5 years) had PSW on Doppler examination while 61 patients (32F; mean age: 46.4 ± 10.3 years) did not. Both groups were compared with respect to demographic, clinical properties, and CIMT. RESULTS: Both groups had comparable age, body mass index, and diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, and family history for coronary heart disease. PSW-positive group had significantly higher CIMT (PSW-positive: 0.59 ± 0.22 mm vs PSW-negative: 0.42 ± 0.11 mm; P < 0.001) than PSW-negative group. Multivariate analysis showed that the independent predictors of increased CIMT were age (95% CI; 1.044-1.101, P < 0.001), dyslipidemia (95% CI; 0.147-0.664, P = 0.002), and the presence of PSW (95% CI; 2.168-7.836, P < 0.001).Correlation analysis showed that PSW velocity is correlated with increased CIMT in PSW-positive group (r: 0.418, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Assessment of PSW on TTE is easy and feasible method. Presence of PSW and increased PSW velocity on TTE might provide information that we should be careful in terms of subclinical atherosclerosis.

BACKGROUND: We aimed to investigate whether non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease (NAFPD) is associated with epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which is a kind of ectopic fat accumulation, and aortic intima-media thickness (aIMT), which is associated with subclinical atherosclerosis. METHODS: Fifty-four patients with NAFPD (22 men; mean age: 52 ± 10 years) and 49 without NAFPD (16 men; mean age: 49 ± 8 years) were included in this study. NAFPD and aIMT were evaluated using transabdominal ultrasonography (TUS). EAT was evaluated with transthoracic echocardiography. RESULTS: EAT (6.09 ± 1.52 mm and 3.87 ± 1.31 mm, p < 0.001) and aIMT [1.12 (0.60-1.90) mm vs. 0.93 (0.50-1.44) mm, p < 0.001] were significantly higher in the NAFPD positive subjects, compared to the NAFPD negative subjects. Multivariate analysis showed that age (p = 0.016), body mass index (p = 0.004), and presence of NAFPD (p = 0.024) were associated with increased aIMT. In addition, multivariate analysis demonstrated that the presence of NAFPD (p < 0.001) was associated with increased EAT. CONCLUSIONS: The presence of NAFPD on TUS is associated with increased aIMT and EAT. Our study results may suggest that NAFPD may reflect subclinical atherosclerosis and may be a simple warning sign for physicians.
RESUMEN
PURPOSE: To detect and characterize changes in stiffness of thrombus in patients with acute and subacute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) by using real-time elastography (RTE). METHODS: Fifty-eight patients with acute or subacute DVT were prospectively evaluated by B-mode sonography (US), color Doppler US (CDUS), and RTE. Two radiologists evaluated the thrombus echogenicity, compressibility, and recanalization of the affected vein, and thrombus stiffness in consensus. The thrombi were classified into 3 groups as soft, intermediate, and hard on RTE images. RESULTS: The final study group consisted of 30 patients with acute DVT, among whom 10 were women (33%), and 19 patients with subacute DVT, among whom 6 were women (32%). The presence of hypoechoic thrombus, incompressible vein, and absence of recanalization on US and CDUS were significantly associated with acute DVT (P < .001 for all variables). The differences in elasticity pattern of the thrombi between acute and subacute DVT were not significant (P = .202). CONCLUSION: Venous thrombus hardens with age; however, elastography pattern on RTE, in its present form, may not be able to differentiate acute DVT from subacute DVT.

OBJECTIVE: In the present study, we aimed to compare the amount of epicardial adipose tissue in subjects with and without xanthelasma. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Fifty-two subjects with xanthelasma and 52 age- and gender-matched control subjects were enrolled in this study. Epicardial adipose tissue was assessed by measuring epicardial fat thickness (EFT) with echocardiography. Participants were dichotomized according to median EFT, which was 4 mm. The group with EFT >4 mm was defined as the supramedian group. Body mass index (BMI) was calculated by weight (kilograms) divided by height (meters) squared. Conditional logistic regression analysis was performed to find independent factors associated with supramedian EFT (>4 mm). RESULTS: Subjects with xanthelasma had higher BMI (31.2 ± 5.6 vs. 28.6 ± 5.7, p = 0.01) and higher levels of total cholesterol (216 ± 54 vs. 181 ± 42 mg/dl, p < 0.001), LDL cholesterol (142 ± 45 vs. 115 ± 36 mg/dl, p = 0.003) and triglycerides (median, 154 vs. 101 mg/dl, p = 0.01) than control subjects. EFT was significantly higher in subjects with xanthelasma than in controls (5.04 ± 2.02 vs. 3.81 ± 2.03 mm, p = 0.002). In the conditional logistic regression analysis, the presence of xanthelasma (OR, 3.55; 95% CI, 1.43-8.78, p = 0.006) and lower HDL cholesterol level (OR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.92-0.99, p = 0.023) were independently associated with supramedian EFT. CONCLUSION: The amount of epicardial adipose tissue found in subjects with xanthelasma was higher than in subjects without xanthelasma. In addition, the presence of xanthelasma was independently associated with supramedian EFT.

BACKGROUND: Patients with Nutcracker syndrome generally present with nonspecific abdominal pain, with the left renal vein (LRV) lodged between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. In rare cases this can result in atypical gastrointestinal symptoms, making the diagnosis of Nutcracker syndrome challenging. CASE REPORT: A 28-year-old female patient presented with complaints of severe abdominal pain and palpable pulsatile abdominal mass located in the left epigastric area. Computed tomography angiography revealed that the LRV was lodged in the aortomesenteric region with a dilated left ovarian vein and pelvic varicose veins. The upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy were normal. The patient was diagnosed as Nutcracker syndrome and discharged to be treated with analgesics. CONCLUSIONS: Nutcracker syndrome can be seen with atypical gastrointestinal and vascular symptoms. Computed tomography angiography is a reliable and robust technique to prove the diagnosis of nutcracker syndrome.
RESUMEN
PURPOSE: To retrospectively evaluate the prognostic parameters of computed tomography (CT) pulmonary angiographic findings in nonsevere (hemodynamically stable) pulmonary embolism (PE) patients and to assess the predictive value of these parameters for mortality within 1 month of the initial diagnosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospectively, 67 consecutive patients (28 men, 39 women; mean age, 63.25 ± 18 years) from 2 centers with nonsevere PE diagnosed using CT and a clinical evaluation were included in the current study. Using consensus reading, 2 readers blinded to the patients' clinical outcomes quantified the right ventricle short axis to left ventricle short axis ratio in the axial plane, vascular measurements, reflux of contrast medium into the inferior vena cava and azygos vein, ventricular septal bowing, and clot load using the Qanadli scoring system. The Simplified Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (sPESI) and pulmonary parenchymal findings were also evaluated. All CT pulmonary angiographic parameters were compared with the risk of death within 1 month using logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Fifty-nine patients survived (88.1%), and 8 patients (11.9%) died because of PE. The sPESI and 2 parenchymal findings (multiple wedge-shaped opacities or consolidation accompanied by a wedge-shaped opacity) were significantly related to mortality. In the univariate analysis, neither the cardiovascular CT parameters nor the clot burden was significant between the survivors and nonsurvivors (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: In clinically nonsevere PE patients, the sPESI and significant parenchymal findings were the CT parameters related to 1-month mortality.

OBJECTIVE: Primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) affects the cardiovascular system, and epicardial fat tissue (EFT) thickness is closely associated with cardiovascular diseases and atherosclerosis. Despite this, the association between EFT thickness and pHPT has not been studied in a clinical setting. This study aimed to assess EFT thickness in patients with pHPT. METHODS: The study included 38 patients with pHPT and 40 healthy controls. EFT thickness, carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), serum levels of parathormone (PTH) and calcium, and blood chemistry profiles were determined in all subjects. Correlation and regression analyses were performed with EFT thickness and CIMT as dependent variables and age; systolic and diastolic blood pressure; body mass index (BMI); presence of diabetes mellitus; and free plasma glucose (FPG), PTH, and serum calcium (Ca) levels as independent variables. RESULTS: Both the mean EFT thickness and the mean CIMT were significantly greater in the pHPT group than the control group (P < .001 for both). Correlation analysis showed that EFT thickness was significantly correlated with CIMT, age, systolic blood pressure, and PTH and serum Ca levels. Furthermore, the regression analysis revealed that EFT thickness retained its independent and positive association with FPG and serum Ca levels. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study indicate that EFT thickness may be a useful marker of early atherosclerosis in patients with pHPT. Furthermore, the increase in EFT thickness appears to be due to hypercalcemia.

OBJECTIVE: Left ventricular thrombus (LVT) is one of the important complications of acute anterior wall myocardial infarction (MI). Mean platelet volume (MPV) is one of the platelet indices reflecting platelet reactivity. In this present study we investigated the effect of MPV on LVT formation after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) for first anterior wall MI. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 205 acute anterior wall MI patients were included into this prospective observational study. Patients were divided into two groups according to the presence of LVT. The thrombus (-) group consisted of 161 patients and the thrombus (+) group of 44 patients. Complete blood count (CBC) parameters were measured at admission. Routine biochemical tests and echocardiographic examinations were performed. Groups are compared according to different parameters. With respect to CBC parameters: MPV (9.03 ± 0.76 vs 8.06 ± 0.83) was significantly higher in the thrombus (+) group, platelet count (184.09 ± 52.21 vs 219.88 ± 52.31) was significantly higher in the thrombus (-) group, WBC count (14.01 ± 4.43 vs 11.30 ± 3.53) was also significantly higher in the thrombus (+) group. Furthermore, peak troponin-T level (32.63 ± 20.18 vs 18.70 ± 23.82), CK-MB level at admission (133.49 ± 117.40 vs 71.79 ± 93.96), peak CK-MB level (245.47 ± 89.67 vs 167.37 ± 110.61) were significantly higher in the thrombus (+) group. Logistic regression analysis revealed that MPV was an independent risk factor of LVT formation. CONCLUSION: In acute anterior wall MI patients MPV is associated with the presence of LVT and is an independent risk factor of LVT formation.

OBJECTIVES: Detection of extent and severity of atherosclerosis using easy, non-invasive methods is of great importance. Atherosclerotic burden may be evaluated with the Gensini scoring system (GSS). Carotis intima media thickness (CIMT), plasma asymmetric dimethyl arginine (ADMA) level, and endothelial dysfunction are well known surrogate markers of atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between atherosclerotic burden determined by the GSS, and ADMA, CIMT and endothelial function. STUDY DESIGN: Consecutive patients who had undergone coronary angiography were evaluated. 50 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), 50 patients with stable coronary artery disease (SCA), and 50 patients with normal coronary arteries (NCA) were included. All subjects' GSS, ADMA, CIMT and endothelial functions were evaluated and compared. RESULTS: GSS was higher in ACS than SCA (75.4 vs 54.9; p<0.001). CIMT was higher in ACS and SCA in compared to NCA (0.98, 0.96, 0.78 mm respectively; p<0.001). Endothelium derived vasodilatory response (EDVR) was decreased in ACS and SCA in compared to NCA (3.5±2.1%, 3.3±1.8%, 7.2±3.5% respectively; p<0.001). Plasma ADMA concentration was higher in ACS and SCA in compared to NCA (0.928, 0.992, 0.475 µmol/l respectively; p<0.001). There was a weak positive correlation between GSS and plasma ADMA levels (r=0.293; p=0.002), an intermediate positive correlation between GSS and CIMT (r=0.508; p<0.001), and an intermediate negative correlations between GSS and EDVR (r= -0.662; p<0.001). CONCLUSION: This study showed that CIMT, ADMA concentration and endothelial dysfunction were significantly associated with CAD. However, only the GSS was significantly different between ACS and SCA groups.
