RESUMEN

We propose a two-stage look-up table (LUT) scheme for a photonic 16 quadrature-amplitude-modulation (QAM) millimeter-wave (MMW) communication system. The first-stage LUT is used at the transmitter, which can eliminate complex computational processes and adaptively adjust the precoded amplitude values to achieve optimal performance without being affected by half-wave voltage variations. We have completed a signal transmission below the hard-decision forward error correction (HD-FEC) threshold of 3.8 × 10-3 at the baud rate of 2/4 GBaud for weak turbulence and 2 GBaud for medium turbulence free-space optics (FSO) channel transmission. The second-stage LUT is used for post-compensation at the receiver as a nonlinear scheme that records the average pattern-related distortion of the channel and mitigates transmission impairment through nonlinear post-compensation. With the help of the second-stage LUT, the sensitivity of the optical receiver is improved by 0.15 dB at a baud rate of 2 GBaud for medium turbulence FSO channel transmission. As the baud rate increases to 4 GBaud, the system's bit error ratio (BER) can reach the soft-decision forward error correction (SD-FEC) threshold of 4.2 × 10-2 only after applying the second-stage LUT.

BACKGROUND: Older adults living in nursing home organizations are eager to get voluntary help, however, their past experiences with voluntary services are not satisfactory enough. To better carry out voluntary services and improve the effectiveness of services, it is necessary to have a deeper understanding of the experiences and needs of older adults for voluntary services. METHODS: The purposive sampling method was used to select 14 older adults from two nursing home organizations in Hangzhou and conduct semi-structured interviews, Collaizzi's seven-step method was used to analyze the data. RESULTS: Older adults in nursing home organizations have both beneficial experiences and unpleasant service experiences in the process of receiving voluntary services; Beneficial experiences include solving problems meeting needs and feeling warmth and care, while unpleasant service experiences include the formality that makes it difficult to benefit truly, lack of organization, regularity, sustainability, and the mismatch between service provision and actual demands. The needs for voluntary services mainly focuses on emotional comfort, Cultural and recreational, and knowledge acquisition. CONCLUSION: Older adults in nursing home organizations have varied voluntary experiences, and their voluntary service needs are diversified. Voluntary service needs of older adults should be accurately assessed, and voluntary service activities should be focused upon.

RESUMEN

Breast cancer is a high-risk disease with a high mortality rate among women. Chemotherapy plays an important role in the treatment of breast cancer. However, chemotherapy eventually results in tumours that are resistant to drugs. In recent years, many studies have revealed that the activation of Wnt/ß-catenin signalling is crucial for the emergence and growth of breast tumours as well as the development of drug resistance. Additionally, drugs that target this pathway can reverse drug resistance in breast cancer therapy. Traditional Chinese medicine has the properties of multi-target and tenderness. Therefore, integrating traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine into chemotherapy provides a new strategy for reversing the drug resistance of breast tumours. This paper mainly reviews the possible mechanism of Wnt/ß-catenin in promoting the process of breast tumour drug resistance, and the progress of alkaloids extracted from traditional Chinese medicine in the targeting of this pathway in order to reverse the drug resistance of breast cancer.

1-Deoxy-d-xylulose-5-phosphate synthase and 1-deoxy-d-xylulose-5-phosphate reductoismerase are considered two key enzymes in the 2-C-methyl-d-erythritol-4-phosphate pathway of terpenoid biosynthesis and are related to the synthesis and accumulation of sesquiterpenoids. We cloned two DXS and DXR genes from Atractylodes lancea and analysed their expression in different tissues and in response to methyl jasmonate (MeJA). Subcellular localisation analysis revealed that the AlDXS and AlDXR1 proteins are located in the chloroplasts and cytoplasm, whereas AlDXR2 is only located in the chloroplasts. pET-AlDXS-28a and pGEX-AlDXR-4T-1 were expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) and BL21, respectively. Based on the abiotic stress analysis, the growth rate of the recombinant pGEX-AlDXR-4T-1 was higher than that of the control in HCl and NaOH. AlDXS exhibited the highest expression level in rhizomes of A. lancea from Hubei but was highest in leaves from Henan. In contrast, AlDXR showed maximum expression in the leaves of A. lancea from Hubei and Henan. Moreover, DXS and DXR gene expression, enzyme activities, and antioxidant enzyme activities oscillated in response to MeJA, with expression peaks appearing at different time points. Our findings indicated that the characterisation and function of AlDXS and AlDXR could be useful for further elucidating the functions of DXR and DXR genes in A. lancea.

Fuzzy dispersion entropy (FuzDE) is a newly proposed entropy metric, which combines the superior characteristics of fuzzy entropy (FE) and dispersion entropy (DE) in signal analysis. However, FuzDE only reflects the feature from the original signal, which ignores the hidden information on the time scale. To address this problem, we introduce variable-step multiscale processing in FuzDE and propose variable-step multiscale FuzDE (VSMFuzDE), which realizes the characterization of abundant scale information, and is not limited by the signal length like the traditional multiscale processing. The experimental results for both simulated signals show that VSMFuzDE is more robust, more sensitive to dynamic changes in the chirp signal, and has more separability for noise signals; in addition, the proposed VSMFuzDE displays the best classification performance in both real-world signal experiments compared to the other four entropy metrics, the highest recognition rates of the five gear signals and four ship-radiated noises reached 99.2% and 100%, respectively, which achieves the accurate identification of two different categories of signals.

This study investigated the choroplast genome sequence of wild Atractylodes lancea from Yuexi in Anhui province by high-throughput sequencing, followed by characterization of the genome structure, which laid a foundation for the species identification, analysis of genetic diversity, and resource conservation of A. lancea. To be specific, the total genomic DNA was extracted from the leaves of A. lancea with the improved CTAB method. The chloroplast genome of A. lancea was sequenced by the high-throughput sequencing technology, followed by assembling by metaSPAdes and annotation by CPGAVAS2. Bioiformatics methods were employed for the analysis of simple sequence repeats(SSRs), inverted repeat(IR) border, codon bias, and phylogeny. The results showed that the whole chloroplast genome of A. lancea was 153 178 bp, with an 84 226 bp large single copy(LSC) and a 18 658 bp small single copy(SSC) separated by a pair of IRs(25 147 bp). The genome had the GC content of 37.7% and 124 genes: 87 protein-coding genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 29 tRNA genes. It had 26 287 codons and encoded 20 amino acids. Phylogenetic analysis showed that Atractylodes species clustered into one clade and that A. lancea had close genetic relationship with A. koreana. This study established a method for sequencing the chloroplast genome of A. lancea and enriched the genetic resources of Compositae. The findings are expected to lay a foundation for species identification, analysis of genetic diversity, and resource conservation of A. lancea.

Traditional Chinese medicine is made from the rhizome of Atractylodes lancea (Thunb.) DC. (Compositae), known as Cangzhu. In this study, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to identify and quantify the volatile oils of different organs of A. lancea from four regions of China: Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan, and Hubei provinces. The volatile oils of A. lancea were qualitatively and quantitatively characterized using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry combined with laser microdissection. The results identified 21 components in A. lancea, the majority of the components were found in the rhizomes, followed by the fibrous roots, flowers, leaves, and stems. According to the contents of volatile oils in A. lancea, it was divided into Dabieshan (mainly includes hinesol and ß-eudesmol) and Maoshan types (mainly includes atractylon and atractylodin), and the ratios of hinesol:ß-eudesmol:atractylon:atractylodin were 17.06:4.55:0:1, 12.66:11.71:0.99:1, 7.43:6.23:0:1, and 0.13:0.16:1.52:1 in A. lancea from AH, HN, HB, and JS, respectively. Tissue-specific study indicated that Dabieshan type mainly includes elemol, hinesol, and ß-eudesmol in the periderm and secretory cavities of A. lancea, whereas Maoshan type mainly includes atractylon, atractylodin, little hinesol, and ß-eudesmol in the secretory cavities. Conversely, no volatile oils were detected in the cortex, phloem, xylem, vascular ray, or pith. This study provides a foundation for further evaluation and utilization of A. lancea.

Coptisine (COP), one of the bioactive components in Rhizoma Coptidis, has many pharmacological effects. Meanwhile, the determination of COP is essential in pharmacological and clinical applications. Herein, we prepared carbon quantum dots (CQDs) by one-step oil-thermal method using paper mill sludge (PMS) as precursor, and developed a ratiometric fluorescence method for the determination of COP. The structural and optical properties of PMS-CQDs were evaluated through high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis), fluorescence, zeta potential and fluorescence lifetime experiments. Fluorescence intensity ratio at 550 nm and 425 nm (I550 /I425 ) was recorded as an index for quantitative detection of COP. The detection concentration of COP ranges from 0.1 to 50 µM in good linear correlation (R2  = 0.9974) with a limit of detection of 0.028 µM (3σ/k). The quenching mechanism was deduced to be inner filter effect and static quenching. The ratiometric fluorescent probe showed impressive selectivity and sensitivity towards COP, and was successfully applied to the detection of COP in human urine with expected recoveries (95.22-111.00%) and relative standard deviations (0.46-2.95%), indicating that our developed method has a great application prospect in actual sample detection.

MAIN CONCLUSION: Two squalene synthase genes AlSQS1 and AlSQS2 were isolated from Atractylodes lancea and functionally characterized using in vitro enzymatic reactions. Atractylodes lancea is a traditional herb used for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, gastric disorders, and influenza. Its major active ingredients include sesquiterpenoids and triterpenes. Squalene synthase (SQS; EC 2.5.1.21) catalyzes the first enzymatic step in the central isoprenoid pathway towards sterol and triterpenoid biosynthesis. In this study, we aimed to investigate two SQSs from A. lancea using cloning and in vitro enzymatic characterization. Bioinformatics and phylogenetic analyses revealed that the AlSQSs exhibited high homology with other plant SQSs. Furthermore, AlSQS1 was observed to be localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, whereas AlSQS2 was localized in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum. To obtain soluble recombinant enzymes, AlSQS1 and AlSQS2 were successfully expressed as glutathione S-transferase (GST)-tagged fusion proteins in Escherichia coli Transetta (DE3). Approximately 68 kDa recombinant proteins were obtained using GST-tag affinity chromatography and Western blot analysis. Results of the in vitro enzymatic reactions established that both AlSQS1 and AlSQS2 were functional, which verifies their catalytic ability in converting two farnesyl pyrophosphates to squalene. The expression patterns of AlSQS and selected terpenoid genes were also investigated in two A. lancea chemotypes using available RNA sequencing data. AlSQS1 and AlSQS2, which showed relatively similar expression in the three tissues, were more highly expressed in the stems than in the leaves and rhizomes. Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) was used as an elicitor to analyze the expression profiles of AlSQSs. The results of qRT-PCR analysis revealed that the gene expression of AlSQS1 and AlSQS2 plummeted at lowest value at 12 h and reached its peak at 24 h. This study is the first report on the cloning, characterization, and expression of SQSs in A. lancea. Therefore, our findings contribute novel insights that may be useful for future studies regarding terpenoid biosynthesis in A. lancea.

PURPOSE: The present study aimed to identify independent clinicopathological and socio-economic prognostic factors associated with overall survival of early-onset colorectal cancer (EO-CRC) patients and then establish and validate a prognostic nomogram for patients with EO-CRC. METHODS: Eligible patients with EO-CRC diagnosed from 2010 to 2017 were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Patients were randomly divided into a training cohort and a testing cohort. Independent prognostic factors were obtained using univariate and multivariate Cox analyses and were used to establish a nomogram for predicting 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS). The discriminative ability and calibration of the nomogram were assessed using C-index values, AUC values, and calibration plots. RESULTS: In total, 5585 patients with EO-CRC were involved in the study. Based on the univariate and multivariate analyses, 15 independent prognostic factors were assembled into the nomogram to predict 3- and 5-year OS. The nomogram showed favorable discriminatory ability as indicated by the C-index (0.840, 95% CI 0.827-0.850), and the 3- and 5-year AUC values (0.868 and 0.84869 respectively). Calibration plots indicated optimal agreement between the nomogram-predicted survival and the actual observed survival. The results remained reproducible in the testing cohort. The C-index of the nomogram was higher than that of the TNM staging system (0.840 vs 0.804, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: A novel prognostic nomogram for EO-CRC patients based on independent clinicopathological and socio-economic factors was developed, which was superior to the TNM staging system. The nomogram could facilitate postoperative individual prognosis prediction and clinical decision-making.

In this study, the gene encoding the key enzyme 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase(KAT) in the fatty acid ß-oxidation pathway of Atractylodes lancea was cloned. Meanwhile, bioinformatics analysis, prokaryotic expression and gene expression analysis were carried out, which laid a foundation for the study of fatty acid ß-oxidation mechanism of A. lancea. The full-length sequence of the gene was cloned by RT-PCR with the specific primers designed according to the sequence information of KAT gene in the transcriptomic data of A. lancea and designated as AIKAT(GenBank accession number MW665111). The results showed that the open reading frame(ORF) of AIKAT was 1 323 bp, encoding 440 amino acid. The deduced protein had a theoretical molecular weight of 46 344.36 and an isoelectric point of 8.92. AIKAT was predicted to be a stable alkaline protein without transmembrane segment. The secondary structure of AIKAT was predicted to be mainly composed of α-helix. The tertiary structure of AIKAT protein was predicted by homology modeling method. Homologous alignment revealed that AIKAT shared high sequence identity with the KAT proteins(AaKAT2, CcKAT2, RgKAT and AtKAT, respectively) of Artemisia annua, Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus, Rehmannia glutinosa and Arabidopsis thaliana. The phylogenetic analysis showed that AIKAT clustered with CcKAT2, confirming the homology of 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase genes in Compositae. The prokaryotic expression vector pET-32 a-AIKAT was constructed and transformed into Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) for protein expression. The target protein was successfully expressed as a soluble protein of about 64 kDa. A real-time quantitative PCR analysis was performed to profile the AIKAT expression in different tissues of A. lancea. The results demonstrated that the expression level of AIKAT was the highest in rhizome, followed by that in leaves and stems. In this study, the full-length cDNA of AIKAT was cloned and expressed in E. coli BL21(DE3), and qRT-PCR showed the differential expression of this gene in different tissues, which laid a foundation for further research on the molecular mechanism of fatty acid ß-oxidation in A. lancea.

An efficient synthesis of 4-methyleneproline derivatives has been developed through an Rh-catalyzed [4 + 1] cycloaddition strategy using 3-methyleneazetidines and diazo compounds. The reaction proceeds under very mild conditions with a high degree of chemoselectivity, and competing experiments revealed that it is the preferred reaction, dominant over the C-H insertion, O-H insertion, and olefin cyclopropanation reactions which are commonly observed in Rh carbene chemistry. This method can incorporate the proline ester scaffold in pharmaceuticals and natural products. The intramolecular version of the reaction effectively provides proline-fused small to medium-sized tricyclic heterocycles. Gram-scale reactions, one-time addition of diazo compounds, and a minimum catalyst loading of 0.1 mol %, proceeded smoothly, implying their practicality.

In recent years, wearable electronic skin has garnered significant attention due to its broad range of applications in various fields, including personal health monitoring, human motion perception, human-computer interaction, and flexible display. The flexible multimodal sensor, as the core component of electronic skin, can mimic the multistimulus sensing ability of human skin, which is highly significant for the development of the next generation of electronic devices. This paper provides a summary of the latest advancements in multimodal sensors that possess two or more response capabilities (such as force, temperature, humidity, etc.) simultaneously. It explores the relationship between materials and multiple sensing capabilities, focusing on both active materials that are the same and different. The paper also discusses the preparation methods, device structures, and sensing properties of these sensors. Furthermore, it introduces the applications of multimodal sensors in human motion and health monitoring, as well as intelligent robots. Finally, the current limitations and future challenges of multimodal sensors will be presented.

Wound healing is an intricate and fine regulatory process. In diabetic patients, advanced glycation end products (AGEs), excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), biofilm formation, persistent inflammation, and angiogenesis regression contribute to delayed wound healing. Epigenetics, the fast-moving science in the 21st century, has been up to date and associated with diabetic wound repair. In this review, we go over the functions of epigenetics in diabetic wound repair in retrospect, covering transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation. Among these, we found that histone modification is widely involved in inflammation and angiogenesis by affecting macrophages and endothelial cells. DNA methylation is involved in factors regulation in wound repair but also affects the differentiation phenotype of cells in hyperglycemia. In addition, noncodingRNA regulation and RNA modification in diabetic wound repair were also generalized. The future prospects for epigenetic applications are discussed in the end. In conclusion, the study suggests that epigenetics is an integral regulatory mechanism in diabetic wound healing.

Osteoporosis (OP) is a prevalent age-related disease that is characterized by a decrease in bone mineral density (BMD) and systemic bone microarchitectural disorders. With age, senescent cells accumulate and exhibit the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) in bone tissue, leading to the imbalance of bone homeostasis, osteopenia, changes in trabecular bone structure, and increased bone fragility. Cellular senescence in the bone microenvironment involves osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), whose effects on bone homeostasis are regulated by epigenetics. Therefore, the epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of cellular senescence have received considerable attention as potential targets for preventing and treating osteoporosis. In this paper, we systematically review the mechanisms of aging-associated epigenetic regulation in osteoporosis, emphasizing the impact of epigenetics on cellular senescence, and summarize three current methods of targeting cellular senescence, which is helpful better to understand the pathogenic mechanisms of cellular senescence in osteoporosis and provides strategies for the development of epigenetic drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis.

PURPOSE: Radiotherapy planning incorporating functional lung images has the potential to reduce pulmonary toxicity. Free-breathing 4DCT-derived ventilation image (CTVI) may help quantify lung function. This study introduces a novel deep-learning model directly translating planning CT images into CTVI. We investigated the accuracy of generated images and the impact on functional avoidance planning. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Paired planning CT and 4DCT scans from 48 patients with NSCLC were randomized to training (n = 41) and testing (n = 7) data sets. The ventilation maps were generated from 4DCT using a Jacobian-based algorithm to provide ground truth labels (CTVI4DCT). A 3D U-Net-based model was trained to map CT to synthetic CTVI (CTVISyn) and validated using fivefold cross-validation. The highest-performing model was applied to the testing set. Spearman's correlation (rs) and Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) determined voxel-wise and functional-wise concordance between CTVI4DCT and CTVISyn. Three plans were designed per patient in the testing set: one clinical plan without CTVI and two functional avoidance plans combined with CTVI4DCT or CTVISyn, aimed at sparing high-functional lungs defined as the top 50% of the percentile ventilation ranges. Dose-volume (DVH) parameters regarding the planning target volume (PTV) and organs at risk (OARs) were recorded. Radiation pneumonitis (RP) risk was estimated using a dose-function (DFH)-based normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) model. RESULTS: CTVISyn showed a mean rs value of 0.65 ± 0.04 compared to CTVI4DCT. Mean DSC values over the top 50% and 60% of ventilation ranges were 0.41 ± 0.07 and 0.52 ± 0.10, respectively. In the test set (n = 7), all patients' RP-risk benefited from CTVI4DCT-guided plans (Riskmean_4DCT_vs_Clinical: 29.24% vs. 49.12%, P = 0.016), and six patients benefited from CTVISyn-guided plans (Riskmean_Syn_vs_Clinical: 31.13% vs. 49.12%, P = 0.022). There were no significant differences in DVH and DFH metrics between CTVISyn and CTVI4DCT-guided plan (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Using deep-learning techniques, CTVISyn generated from planning CT exhibited a moderate-to-high correlation with CTVI4DCT. The CTVISyn-guided plans were comparable to the CTVI4DCT-guided plans, effectively reducing pulmonary toxicity in patients while maintaining acceptable plan quality. Further prospective trials are needed to validate these findings.

BACKGROUND: Patients with early esophageal cancer (EC) receive individualized therapy based on their lymph node metastasis (LNM) and distant metastasis (DM) status; however, deficiencies in current clinical staging techniques and the issue of cost-effectiveness mean LNM and DM often go undetected preoperatively. We aimed to develop three clinical models to predict the likelihood of LNM, DM, and prognosis in patients with early EC. METHOD: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was queried for T1 EC patients from 2004 to 2015. Multivariable logistic regression and Cox proportional hazards models were used to recognize the risk factors of LNM and DM, predict overall survival (OS), and develop relevant nomograms. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC)/concordance index and calibration curves were used to evaluate the discrimination and accuracy of the three nomograms. Decision curve analyses (DCAs), clinical impact curves, and subgroups based on model scores were used to determine clinical practicability. RESULTS: The area under the curve of the LNM and DM nomograms were 0.668 and 0.807, respectively. The corresponding C-index of OS nomogram was 0.752. Calibration curves and DCA showed an effective predictive accuracy and clinical applicability. In patients with T1N0M0 EC, surgery alone (p < 0.01) proved a survival advantage. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy indicated a better prognosis in the subgroup analysis for T1 EC patients with LNM or DM. CONCLUSIONS: We created three nomograms to predict the likelihood of LNM, DM, and OS probability in patients with early EC using a generalizable dataset. These useful visual tools could help clinical physicians deliver appropriate perioperative care.

BACKGROUND: The optimal timing of combined chemotherapy with radiotherapy for locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC) is undetermined. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to compare the therapeutic efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). METHODS: Five hundred and thirty-eight patients diagnosed with LA-NPC and treated with NACT + RT or CCRT alone were enrolled in the study. Restricted cubic spline regression (RCS) was used to determine the relationship between age and the hazard Ratio of death. A Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to evaluate overall survival (OS) related to NACT + RT or CCRT alone. Cox proportional hazards models were used to adjust for potential confounding factors. RESULTS: Compared with the CCRT alone regimen, the NACT + RT regimen showed a significantly better OS rate with a 62% decreased risk of death in a subgroup of patients aged ⩾ 45 years (hazard ratio, HR: 0.38; 95% confidence interval, CI: 0.24-0.61). In patients aged < 45 years, the risk of death was significantly increased when NACT + RT was chosen compared with CCRT (HR: 4.10; 95% CI: 2.09-8.07). CONCLUSIONS: Age is a significant biomarker when selecting NACT + RT or CCRT alone in patients with locally advanced NPC.

Atractylodes lancea (Thunb.) DC. is an important medicinal plant mainly distributed in China. A. lancea is rich in volatile oils and has a significant effect on various diseases, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Based on the signature constituents of volatile oils, A. lancea is divided into two chemotypes: the Dabieshan and Maoshan chemotype. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) results revealed that the hinesol and ß-eudesmol contents in the Dabieshan chemotype were higher than those in the Maoshan chemotype. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) and single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technologies were combined to investigate the molecular mechanisms of sesquiterpenoid biosynthesis in A. lancea. A total of 42 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) for terpenoid biosynthesis were identified in the two chemotype groups, and nine full-length terpene synthase (TPS) genes were identified. Subcellular localization revealed that AlTPS1 and AlTPS2 proteins were localized in the nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum. They use FPP as a substrate to generate sesquiterpenoids. AlTPS1 catalyzes biosynthesis of elemol while AlTPS2 is observed to perform ß-farnesene synthase activity. This study provides information for understanding the differences in the accumulation of terpenoids in two chemotypes of A. lancea and lays a foundation for further elucidation of the molecular mechanism of sesquiterpenoid biosynthesis.
