RESUMEN

Thermal sensations contribute to our ability to perceive and explore the physical world. Reproducing these sensations in a spatiotemporally programmable manner through wireless computer control could enhance virtual experiences beyond those supported by video, audio and, increasingly, haptic inputs. Flexible, lightweight and thin devices that deliver patterns of thermal stimulation across large areas of the skin at any location of the body are of great interest in this context. Applications range from those in gaming and remote socioemotional communications, to medical therapies and physical rehabilitation. Here, we present a set of ideas that form the foundations of a skin-integrated technology for power-efficient generation of thermal sensations across the skin, with real-time, closed-loop control. The systems exploit passive cooling mechanisms, actively switchable thermal barrier interfaces, thin resistive heaters and flexible electronics configured in a pixelated layout with wireless interfaces to portable devices, the internet and cloud data infrastructure. Systematic experimental studies and simulation results explore the essential mechanisms and guide the selection of optimized choices in design. Demonstration examples with human subjects feature active thermoregulation, virtual social interactions, and sensory expansion.

N-doped carbon (NC)-encapsulated transition metal (TM) nanocomposites are considered as alternatives to Pt-based hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysts; however, their poor electron transfer and mass diffusion capability at high current densities hinder their practical application. Herein, an oriented coupling strategy for the in situ grafting of ultrafine Co nanoparticle-embedded hollow porous C polyhedra onto Si nanowires (Co/NC-HP@Si-NWs) is proposed to address this concern. Experimental investigations reveal that the intimate coupling between the Si-NW and Co/NC nanocage forms a multithreaded conductive network, lowering the energy barrier for internal electron transfer. When functionalized as an HER electrocatalyst in 0.5 m H2 SO4 , Co/NC-HP@Si-NWs deliver overpotentials as low as 57 and 440 mV at 10 and 500 mA cm-2 , respectively, which are much better than those of the pristine Co/NC-HP. Moreover, Co/NC-HP@Si-NWs show an outstanding cycle durability of 24 h at 10 and 500 mA cm-2 . The findings of this study are expected to inspire revolutionary work on the development of Si-mediated TM-based electrocatalysts for the HER.

OBJECTIVE: Patients with Graves' disease often engage in shared decision-making to select an individualised treatment regimen from multiple options. Radioactive iodine (RAI) is one of the treatment choices for their condition, aims to improve quality of life and well-being. Likewise, dissatisfaction with treatment outcomes can result in decision regret. We employed validated questionnaires to assess the prospective quality of life, decision regret and relative factors involved in decision-making of patients with late hypothyroidism after RAI therapy. METHODS: A questionnaire survey was conducted among patients in hypothyroidism status for more than 1 year after RAI therapy. Disease-specific and generic QoL were assessed using the short form of thyroid-related patient-reported outcome (ThyPRO-39) questionnaire. Patient satisfaction regarding their decision to undergo RAI was assessed using the Decision Regret Scale (DRS) and patients were asked about the importance of relative factors in decision-making. RESULTS: Of 254 patients who responded to the survey, the mean age of patients was 45.3 years (range: 18-78 years) and the median time from RAI therapy to survey was 4 years (range: 1-30 years). Patients' median and mean DRS score were 34.4 and 38.8 (range: 0-100), respectively. A total of 100 (39.4%) patients express absent-to-mild regret (score: 0-25), 154 (60.6%) patients express moderate-to-severe regret (score: >25). The mean score of the absent-to-mild regret group were significantly higher than those of the moderate-to-severe regret group on most ThyPRO-39 scales. A statistically significant positive correlation was observed between DRS score and most ThyPRO-39 scale score. There was a significant positive association between higher DRS score and longer time intervals after RAI treatment, a brief duration of hyperthyroidism, and the significance of long-time outpatient follow-up. More decision regret was negatively associated Iodine-free diet, ineffectiveness of ATD, fear of surgery. CONCLUSION: Impairment of quality of life was positively correlated with decision regret in patients with late-hypothyroidism after radioiodine therapy. Patients with insufficient information support before decision-making are more likely to have higher decision regret after treatment. Our findings suggest that health providers should fully communicate with patients and provide information support in multiple dimensions during the shared-decision-making process.

KEY MESSAGE: Two major genetic loci, qTN5.1 and qAB9.1, were identified and finely mapped to the 255 Kb region with one potential candidate gene for tiller number and the 521 Kb region with eight candidate genes for axillary branch number, respectively. Vegetative branching including tillering and axillary branching are vital traits affecting both the plant architecture and the biomass in cereal crops. However, the mechanism underlying the formation of vegetative branching in foxtail millet is largely unknown. Here, a foxtail millet cultivar and its bushy wild relative Setaria viridis accession were used to construct segregating populations to identify candidate genes regulating tiller number and axillary branch number. Transcriptome analysis using vegetative branching bud samples of parental accessions was performed, and key differentially expressed genes and pathways regulating vegetative branching were pointed out. Bulk segregant analysis on their F2:3 segregating population was carried out, and a major QTL for tiller number (qTN5.1) and two major QTLs for axillary branch number (qAB2.1 and qAB9.1) were detected. Fine-mapping strategy was further performed on F2:4 segregate population, and Seita.5G356600 encoding ß-glucosidase 11 was identified as the promising candidate gene for qTN5.1, and eight genes, especially Seita.9G125300 and Seita.9G125400 annotated as B-S glucosidase 44, were finally identified as candidate genes for regulating axillary branching. Findings in this study will help to elucidate the genetic basis of the vegetative branching formation of foxtail millet and lay a foundation for breeding foxtail millet varieties with ideal vegetative branching numbers.

The tumor suppressor p53 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis. HERC5-mediated posttranslational ISG modification of the p53 protein is critical for controlling its activity. Here, we demonstrated that the expression of HERC5 and ISG15 is highly elevated, whereas p53 is downregulated, in fibrotic liver tissues of mice and transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1)-induced LX2 cells. HERC5 siRNA clearly increased the protein expression of p53, but the mRNA expression of p53 was not obviously changed. The inhibition of lincRNA-ROR (ROR) downregulated HERC5 expression and elevated p53 expression in TGF-ß1-stimulated LX-2 cells. Furthermore, the expression of p53 was almost unchanged after TGF-ß1-stimulated LX-2 cells were co-transfected with a ROR-expressing plasmid and HERC5 siRNA. We further confirmed that miR-145 is a target gene of ROR. In addition, we also showed that ROR regulates the HERC5-mediated ISGylation of p53 through mir-145/ZEB2. Together, we propose that ROR/miR-145/ZEB2 might be involved in the course of liver fibrosis by regulating ISGylation of the p53 protein.

Evidence of the relationship between fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) levels, dietary quality and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in rural populations is limited. Here, we aimed to investigate the association between fecal SCFA levels and T2DM and the combined effects of dietar quality on T2DM in rural China. In total, 100 adults were included in the case-control study. Dietary quality was assessed by the Alternate Healthy Eating Index 2010 (AHEI-2010), and SCFA levels were analysed using the GC-MS system. Generalised linear regression was conducted to calculate the OR and 95 % CI to evaluate the effect of SCFA level and dietary quality on the risk of T2DM. Finally, an interaction was used to study the combined effect of SCFA levels and AHEI-2010 scores on T2DM. T2DM participants had lower levels of acetic and butyric acid. Generalised linear regression analysis revealed that the OR (95 % CI) of the highest acetic and butyric acid levels were 0·099 (0·022, 0·441) and 0·210 (0·057, 0·774), respectively, compared with the subjects with the lowest tertile of level. We also observed a significantly lower risk of T2DM with acetic acid levels > 1330·106 µg/g or butyric acid levels > 585·031 µg/g. Moreover, the risks of higher acetic and butyric acid levels of T2DM were 0·007 (95 % CI: 0·001, 0·148), 0·005 (95 % CI: 0·001, 0·120) compared with participants with lower AHEI-2010 scores (all P < 0·05). Acetate and butyrate levels may be important modifiable beneficial factors affecting T2DM in rural China. Improving dietary quality for body metabolism balance should be encouraged to promote good health.

Cadmium poisoning is a chronic accumulation process, and long-term drinking of even low cadmium content water will cause kidney damage, so an ultra-low detection limit is particularly important. However, at the present stage, the traditional detection method cannot reach a sufficiently low detection limit, the response time is too long, and the cost of detection is very high, so that real-time measurement cannot be realized. Therefore, the traditional cadmium ion detection method has a slow response and an insufficient detection limit. This paper presents a fiber optic cadmium ion sensor functionalized based on an Fe3O4@SiO2@CS magnetic ion imprinting polymer (M-IIP). The sensor is based on the coupling characteristics of the optical microfiber coupler (OMC) cone region to achieve a highly sensitive response to the change in the cadmium ion concentration. M-IIP materials were prepared by surface imprinting polymerization to achieve low cross-sensitivity and thus improve the detection limit of the sensor. The results show that the developed fiber sensor has high specificity and a rapid response to cadmium ions. The experimental limit of detection (LOD) reached 0.051 nM within 0-1 µM with a response time of less than 50 s. Moreover, the proposed fiber cadmium ion sensor exhibits excellent performance in terms of sensitivity, stability, repeatability and biocompatibility.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Human studies about short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), the gut microbiome, and Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) are limited. Here we explored the association between SCFAs and T2DM and the effects of gut microbial diversity on glucose status in rural populations. METHODS AND RESULTS: We performed a cross-sectional study from the Henan Rural Cohort and collected stool samples. Gut microbiota composition and faecal SCFA concentrations were measured by 16S rRNA and GC-MS. The population was divided based on the tertiles of SCFAs, and logistic regression models assessed the relationship between SCFAs and T2DM. Generalized linear models tested the interactions between SCFAs and gut microbial diversity on glucose indicators (glucose, HbAlc and insulin). Compared to the lowest tertile of total SCFA, acetate and butyrate, the highest tertile exhibited lower T2DM prevalence, with ORs and 95% CIs of 0.291 (0.085-0.991), 0.160 (0.044-0.574) and 0.171 (0.047-0.620), respectively. Restricted cubic spline demonstrated an approximately inverse S-shaped association. We also noted interactions of the ACE index with the highest tertile of valerate on glucose levels (P-interaction = 0.022) and the Shannon index with the middle tertile of butyrate on insulin levels (P-interaction = 0.034). Genus Prevotella_9 and Odoribacter were inversely correlated with T2DM, and the genus Blautia was positively associated with T2DM. These bacteria are common SCFA-producing members. CONCLUSIONS: Inverse S-shaped associations between SCFAs (total SCFA, acetate, and butyrate) and T2DM were observed. Valerate and butyrate modify glucose status with increasing gut microbial diversity.

KEY MESSAGE: The BrrFT paralogues exhibit distinct expression patterns and play different roles in regulating flowering time, and BrrFT4 competes with BrrFT1 and BrrFT2 to interact with BrrFD proteins. Flowering time is an important agricultural trait for Brassica crops, and early bolting strongly affects the yield and quality of Brassica rapa ssp. rapa. Flowering Locus T paralogues play an important role in regulating flowering time. In this study, we identified FT-related genes in turnip by phylogenetic classification, and four BrrFT homoeologs that shared with high identities with BraFT genes were isolated. The different gene structures, promoter binding sites, and expression patterns observed indicated that these genes may play different roles in flowering time regulation. Further genetic and biochemical experiments showed that as for FT-like paralogues, BrrFT2 acted as the key floral inducer, and BrrFT1 seems to act as a mild 'florigen' protein. However, BrrFT4 acts as a floral repressor and antagonistically regulates flowering time by competing with BrrFT1 and BrrFT2 to bind BrrFD proteins. BrrFT3 may have experienced loss of function via base shift mutation. Our results revealed the potential roles of FT-related genes in flowering time regulation in turnip.

BACKGROUND: Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack, commonly called orange jessamine in the family Rutaceae, is an important ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical regions which is famous for its strong fragrance. Although genome assemblies have been reported for many Rutaceae species, mainly in the genus Citrus, full genomic information has not been reported for M. paniculata, which is a prerequisite for in-depth genetic studies on Murraya and manipulation using genetic engineering techniques. Here, we report a high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of M. paniculata and aim to provide insights on the molecular mechanisms of flower volatile biosynthesis. RESULTS: The genome assembly with a contig N50 of 18.25 Mb consists of 9 pseudomolecules and has a total length of 216.86 Mb. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that M. paniculata diverged from the common ancestor approximately 25 million years ago and has not undergone any species-specific whole genome duplication events. Genome structural annotation and comparative genomics analysis revealed that there are obvious differences in transposon contents among the genomes of M. paniculata and Citrus species, especially in the upstream regions of genes. Research on the flower volatiles of M. paniculata and C. maxima at three flowering stages revealed significant differences in volatile composition with the flowers of C. maxima lacking benzaldehyde and phenylacetaldehyde. Notably, there are transposons inserted in the upstream region of the phenylacetaldehyde synthase (PAAS) genes Cg1g029630 and Cg1g029640 in C. maxima, but not in the upstream region of three PAAS genes Me2G_2379, Me2G_2381, and Me2G_2382 in M. paniculata. Our results indicated that compared to the low expression levels of PAAS genes in C. maxima, the higher expression levels of the three PAAS genes in M. paniculata are the main factor affecting the phenylacetaldehyde biosynthesis and causing the content difference of phenylacetaldehyde. The phenylacetaldehyde synthetic activities of the enzymes encoded by M. paniculata PAAS genes were validated by in vitro analyses. CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides useful genomic resources of M. paniculata for further research on Rutaceae plants, identifies new PAAS genes, and provides insights into how transposons contribute to variations in flower volatiles among Murraya and Citrus plants.

To understand the genome-wide information of the GRF family genes in broomcorn millet and their expression profile in the vegetative meristems, bioinformatic methods and transcriptome sequencing were used to analyze the characteristics, physical and chemical properties, phylogenetic relationship, chromosome distribution, gene structure, cis-acting elements and expression profile in stem meristem for the GRF family members. The results showed that the GRF gene family of millet contains 21 members, and the PmGRF gene is unevenly distributed on 12 chromosomes. The lengths of PmGRF proteins vary from 224 to 618 amino acids, and the isoelectric points are between 4.93-9.69. Each member of the family has 1-4 introns and 2-5 exons. The protein PmGRF13 is localized in both the nucleus and chloroplast, and the rest PmGRF proteins are located in the nucleus. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the 21 GRF genes were divided into 4 subfamilies (A,B,C and D) in broomcorn millet. The analysis of cis-acting elements showed that there were many cis-acting elements involved in light response, hormone response, drought induction, low temperature response and other environmental stress responses in the 2000 bp sequence upstream of the GRF genes. Transcriptome sequencing and qRT-PCR analyses showed that the expression levels of PmGRF3 and PmGRF12 in the dwarf variety Zhang778 were significantly higher than those of the tall variety Longmi12 in the internode and node meristems at the jointing stage, while the expression patterns of PmGRF4, PmGRF16 and PmGRF21 were reverse. In addition, the expression levels of PmGRF2 and PmGRF5 in the internode of Zhang778 were significantly higher than Longmi12. The other GRF genes were not or insignificantly expressed. These results indicated that seven genes, PmGRF2, PmGRF3, PmGRF4, PmGRF5, PmGRF12, PmGRF16 and PmGRF21, were related to the formation of plant height in broomcorn millet.

Microsphere-assisted super-resolution imaging is a promising technique that can significantly enhance the resolution of conventional optical microscopes. The focus of a classical microsphere is called photonic nanojet, which is a symmetric high-intensity electromagnetic field. Recently, patchy microspheres have been reported to have superior imaging performance than pristine microspheres, and coating microspheres with metal films leads to the formation of photonic hooks, which can enhance the imaging contrast of microspheres. Understanding the influence of metal patches on the near-field focusing of patchy particles is important for the rational design of a nanostructured microlens. In this work, we theoretically and experimentally showed that the light waves can be focused and engineered using patchy particles. When coating dielectric particles with Ag films, light beams with a hook-like structure or S-shaped structure can be generated. Simulation results show that the waveguide ability of metal films and the geometric asymmetry of patchy particles cause the formation of S-shaped light beams. Compared with classical photonic hooks, S-shaped photonic hooks have a longer effective length and a smaller beam waist at far-field region. Experiments were also carried out to demonstrate the generation of classical and S-shaped photonic hooks from patchy microspheres.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: The relationship between reproductive factors and type 2 diabetes (T2D) is controversial; therefore, we explored the causal relationship of age at menarche (AAM), age at natural menopause (ANM), with the risk of T2D and glycemic traits using two-sample Mendelian randomization. METHODS AND RESULTS: We used publicly available data at the summary level of genome-wide association studies, where AAM (N = 329,345), ANM (N = 69,360), T2D (N = 464,389). The inverse variance weighting (IVW) method was employed as the primary method. To demonstrate the robustness of the results, we also conducted various sensitivity analysis methods including the MR-Egger regression, the weighted median (WM) and the MR Pleiotropy RESidual Sum and Outlier (MR-PRESSO) test. After excluding IVs associated with confounders, we found a causal association between later AAM and reduced risk of T2D (OR 0.81 [95% CI 0.75, 0.87]; P = 2.20 × 10-8), lower levels of FI (ß -0.04 [95% CI -0.06, -0.01]; P = 2.19 × 10-3), FPG (ß -0.03 [95% CI -0.05, -0.007]; P = 9.67 × 10-5) and HOMA-IR (ß -0.04 [95% CI -0.06, -0.01]; P = 4,95 × 10-3). As for ANM, we only found a causal effect with HOMA-IR (ß -0.01 [95% CI -0.02, -0.005]; P = 1.77 × 10-3), but not with T2D. CONCLUSIONS: Our MR study showed a causal relationship between later AAM and lower risk of developing T2D, lower FI, FPG and HOMA-IR levels. This may provide new insights into the prevention of T2D in women.

We investigated the prognostic factors based on 18Fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) quantitative and hematological parameters to predict progression-free survival (PFS) in relapsed/refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma (R/R cHL) patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and chemotherapy. METHODS: This retrospective study included 31 patients who underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT before and during treatment. Pretreatment metabolic and hematological parameters were evaluated using Cox regression analysis to identify predictors of PFS. Based on the cut-off values calculated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, patients were classified into low-, intermediate-, and high-risk groups. Kaplan-Meier curves and the log-rank test were used to compare survival differences between the groups. RESULTS: Cox multivariable analysis indicted that the treatment response based on Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Lugano classification and SUVmax were independent predictors of PFS (P = 0.004, 0.007 and 0.039, respectively). The optimal cut-off values for SUVmax and LDH were 11.62 and 258.5 U/L, respectively (P < 0.01). Survival curves showed that LDH ≥ 258.5U/L and SUVmax ≥ 11.62 were correlated to shorter PFS (P < 0.001, P = 0.003, respectively). The differences in PFS between the low-, intermediate-, and high-risk groups were statistically significant (P = 0.0043). CONCLUSION: In R/R cHL patients treated with ICIs and chemotherapy, Lugano classification, SUVmax, and LDH were significantly correlated with PFS. The combination of metabolic and hematological parameters predicts PFS and may help to improve patient selection.

OBJECTIVE: To accurately achieve distal contact force, a novel temperature-compensated sensor is developed and integrated into an atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation catheter. METHODS: A dual elastomer-based dual FBGs structure is used to differentiate the strain on the two FBGs to achieve temperature compensation, and the design is optimized and validated by finite element simulation. RESULTS: The designed sensor has a sensitivity of 90.5 pm/N, resolution of 0.01 N, and root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.02 N and 0.04 N for dynamic force loading and temperature compensation, respectively, and can stably measure distal contact forces with temperature disturbances. CONCLUSION: Due to the advantages, i.e., simple structure, easy assembly, low cost, and good robustness, the proposed sensor is suitable for industrial mass production.

Buffalo milk contains more polyunsaturated fatty acids than bovine milk. However, it is not clear about the effects of buffalo milk and bovine milk on lipid metabolism. In this study, a mouse model was used to explore the effects of buffalo milk and bovine milk on lipid metabolism in mice. The experiment was divided into three groups: a control group on a normal diet; a bovine milk group infused with bovine milk; a buffalo milk group infused with buffalo milk. We fed three groups of mice (n = 6) for 6 weeks. These results showed that bovine milk and buffalo milk had no effect on body weight gain. Bovine milk increased the content of ApoA1, ApoB and glucose in serum, compared with the control group, but buffalo milk has no profound change in serum ApoB. Remarkably, buffalo milk decreased the content of total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) in the liver lipid profile, and also downregulated the expression of the carnitine palmitoyltransferase 2 (Cpt2) gene involved in the fatty acid oxidation in the liver. This study also found that bovine milk and buffalo milk did not cause the expression of pro-inflammatory factors in serum and colon tissues. This experiment proved that buffalo milk has beneficial effects on the regulation of lipid metabolism, and also does not affect the normal growth and pro-inflammatory response of the colon in mice. It provides a theoretical basis for future in-depth research on the special functions of buffalo milk and the development of buffalo milk functional foods.

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is an ideal model of genetic system for functional genomics of the Panicoideae crop. Identification of QTL responsible for morpho-agronomic and yield-related traits facilitates dissection of genetic control and breeding in cereal crops. Here, based on a Yugu1 × Longgu7 RIL population and genome-wide resequencing data, an updated linkage map harboring 2297 bin and 74 SSR markers was constructed, spanning 1315.1 cM with an average distance of 0.56 cM between adjacent markers. A total of 221 QTL for 17 morpho-agronomic and yield-related traits explaining 5.5 ~ 36% of phenotypic variation were identified across multi-environments. Of these, 109 QTL were detected in two to nine environments, including the most stable qLMS6.1 harboring a promising candidate gene Seita.6G250500, of which 70 were repeatedly identified in different trials in the same geographic location, suggesting that foxtail millet has more identical genetic modules under the similar ecological environment. One hundred-thirty QTL with overlapping intervals formed 22 QTL clusters. Furthermore, six superior recombinant inbred lines, RIL35, RIL48, RIL77, RIL80, RIL115 and RIL125 with transgressive inheritance and enrichment of favorable alleles in plant height, tiller, panicle morphology and yield related-traits were screened by hierarchical cluster. These identified QTL, QTL clusters and superior lines lay ground for further gene-trait association studies and breeding practice in foxtail millet.

Issues with unstable SEI formation and uncontrollable lithium dendrite growth impede the practical use of lithium anode in high-energy batteries. Herein, a lithiophilic carbon channel on separator is designed to regulate lithium deposition behavior. The designed channel is formed by carbon nanosheet with cubic cavity (CNCC) prepared by hard template method. The CNCC with a large specific surface area and good electrolyte wettability can effectively reduce the local current density. Besides, the CNCC coated separator with high Young's modulus can mechanically inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites. Notably, CNCC coating can become lithiophilic during lithium plating/striping process, which is beneficial for homogeneous lithium deposition and low lithium nucleation overpotential. As a result, based on the CNCC coated separator, the symmetric Li|Li cell cycle over 2600h at 6 mA cm-2 for 2 mAh cm-2 , while the Li|Cu cell reaches average Coulombic efficiency of 98.5% at 2 mA cm-2 for 2 mAh cm-2 .

Reducing nanoparticle (NP) dosage for hyperthermia therapy has remained a great challenge. In this work, efficiencies of alternating current (AC) magnetic field and near-infrared (NIR) heating are simultaneously enhanced by Zn and Co co-doping of magnetite NPs. The optimum magnetic anisotropy for maximized loss power under each magnetic field is achieved by tuning the doping concentration. The specific loss power of Zn0.3 Co0.08 Fe2.62 O4 @SiO2 NPs reaches 2428 W g-1 under an AC field of 27 kA m-1 at 430 kHz; 12 296 W g-1 under NIR laser irradiation at 808 nm and 2.5 W cm-2 ; and an unprecedented value of 14 724 W g-1 under dual mode. These values far exceed what has been achieved previously in iron oxide NPs. Ex vivo experiments on sacrificial mice show that while the NP dosage is substantially reduced to that used for magnetic resonance imaging, the surface body temperature of the mice reaches 50 °C after exposure to both AC field and laser irradiation under field parameters and laser intensity below safety limits. This nanoplatform is thus promising for multi-modal local hyperthermia therapy.
