ABSTRACT
Objective:
To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention based on the Roy adaptation model in the perioperative period of bladder cancer. Methods:
Eighty-six patients with bladder cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (n = 43, receiving conventional perioperative care) and a research group (n = 43, receiving the Roy adaptation model based on conventional perioperative care). Psychosocial adjustment scores, self-perceived burden scores, quality of life scores, and complication rates of the 2 groups were compared. Results:
After intervention, the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale (PAIS-SR) scores and the Self-Perceived Burden Scale (SPBS) scores were lower in the research group than in the control group (P < .001). After intervention, the research group scored higher than the control group on all dimensions of the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) (P < .001). Complication rates were lower in the research group (6.98%) than in the control group (25.58%) (P = .02).Conclusion:
Comprehensive nursing intervention based on the Roy adaptation model is effective in the perioperative period of bladder cancer and can significantly improve patients' psychosocial adaptation, reduce self-perceived burden, improve quality of life, and reduce complications, and is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
