RESUMO

At the end of 2019, the SARS-CoV-2 virus caused an outbreak of COVID-19 disease. The spread of this once-in-a-century pathogen increases demand for appropriate medical care, which strains the capacity and resources of hospitals in a critical way. Given the limited time available to prepare for the required demand, health care administrators fear they will not be ready to face patient's influx. To aid health managers with the Prioritization and Scheduling COVID-19 Patients problem, a tool based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) through the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) method, and Operations Research (OR) through a Fuzzy Interval Mathematical model was developed. The results indicated that combining both models provides an effective assessment under scarce initial information to select a suitable list of patients for a set of hospitals. The proposed approach allows to achieve a key goal: minimizing death rates under each hospital constraints of available resources. Furthermore, there is a serious concern regarding the resurgence of the COVID-19 virus which could cause a more severe pandemic. Thus, the main outcome of this study is the application of the above-mentioned approaches, especially when combining them, as efficient tools serving health establishments to manage critical resources.

RESUMO

Undoped Y2Sn2O7 and Eu3+ doped Y2Sn2O7 samples with doping concentrations 7%, 8%, 9%, and 10% are successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation method. A complete structural, morphological, and spectroscopic characterization is carried out. XRD measurements reveal that samples crystallize in the pure single pyrochlore phase and Eu3+ ions occupy sites with D3d symmetry. After mechanical grinding, the average crystallite size is less than 100 nm for all compositions. Optical characterization shows emission from the 5D0 level towards the lower lying 7F0,1,2,3,4 levels. The CIE color coordinates of all the pyrochlore phosphors are very close to those of the ideal red light. For the visualization of latent fingerprints, different surfaces are tested, including difficult ones (wood and ceramic), with excellent results. All three levels of fingerprint ridge patterns are visualized: core (Level 1), bifurcation and termination (Level 2), and sweat pores (Level 3). Moreover, our nano-powders are used to prepare a stable fluorescent ink.

RESUMO

The title compound, sodium ammonium sulfate-telluric acid (1/1), Na(0.39)(NH(4))(1.61)SO(4)·Te(OH)(6), is isostructural with other solid solutions in the series M(1-x)(NH(4))(x)SO(4)·Te(OH)(6), where ammonium is partially replaced with an alkali metal (M = K, Rb or Cs). The structure is composed of planes of Te(OH)(6) octa-hedra alternating with planes of SO(4) tetra-hedra. The Na(+)/NH(4) (+) cations are statistically distributed over the same position and are located between the planes. The structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the telluric acid adducts and the O atoms of sulfate groups, and between the ammonium cations and O atoms, respectively. Both Te atoms lie on centres of symmetry.
