RESUMO

Van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials have broad application prospects in next-generation spintronics. Inserting magnetic elements into nonmagnetic vdW materials can introduce magnetism and enhance various transport properties. Herein, the unconventional magnetic and magneto-transport phenomena is reported in Ni0.28TaSeS crystal by intercalating Ni atoms into nonmagnetic 2H-TaSeS matrix. Magnetic characterization reveals a canted magnetic structure in Ni0.28TaSeS, which results in an antiferromagnetic (AFM) order along the c-axis and a ferromagnetic (FM) moment in the ab-plane. The presence of spin-flop (SF) behavior can also be attributed to the canted magnetic structure. Temperature-dependent resistivity exhibits a metallic behavior with an abrupt decrease corresponding to the magnetic transition. Magneto-transport measurements demonstrate a positive magnetoresistance (MR) with a plateau that is different from conventional magnetic materials. The field-dependent Hall signal exhibits nonlinear field dependence when the material is in magnetically ordered state. These unconventional magneto-transport behaviors are attributed to the field-induced formation of a complex spin texture in Ni0.28TaSeS. In addition, it further investigated the angle dependence of MR and observed an unusual fourfold anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) effect. This work inspires future research on spintronic devices utilizing magnetic atom-intercalated quasi-2D materials.

RESUMO

Cadmium (Cd) is highly toxic to plants, but the targets and modes of toxicity remain unclear. We isolated a Cd-hypersensitive mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana, Cd-induced short root 2 (cdsr2), in the background of the phytochelatin synthase-defective mutant cad1-3. Both cdsr2 and cdsr2 cad1-3 displayed shorter roots and were more sensitive to Cd than their respective wild type. Using genomic resequencing and complementation, IAR4 was identified as the causal gene, which encodes a putative mitochondrial pyruvate dehydrogenase E1α subunit. cdsr2 showed decreased pyruvate dehydrogenase activity and NADH content, but markedly increased concentrations of pyruvate and alanine in roots. Both Cd stress and IAR4 mutation decreased auxin level in the root tips, and the effect was additive. A higher growth temperature rescued the phenotypes in cdsr2. Exogenous alanine inhibited root growth and decreased auxin level in the wild type. Cadmium stress suppressed the expression of genes involved in auxin biosynthesis, hydrolysis of auxin-conjugates and auxin polar transport. Our results suggest that auxin homeostasis is a key target of Cd toxicity, which is aggravated by IAR4 mutation due to decreased pyruvate dehydrogenase activity. Decreased auxin level in cdsr2 is likely caused by increased auxin-alanine conjugation and decreased energy status in roots.

RESUMO

The emergence of two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) magnets provides a broad platform for studying the magnetic properties of low-dimensional materials in condensed matter physics. However, the intrinsic ferromagnetism of 2D materials is mostly observed below room temperature, and most of them are soft ferromagnetic materials. Here, we report two intrinsic ferromagnetic vdW materials with Curie temperatures (TC) above room temperature, MnSiTe3 (TC ∼ 378 K) and MnGeTe3 (TC ∼ 349 K). Moreover, MnSiTe3 exhibits a large coercivity (HC) at room temperature with an unprecedented HC of 1450 Oe, which is an increase of nearly 500% compared to the reported room-temperature vdW ferromagnets. The discovery of these two materials fills the gap of vdW room-temperature hard ferromagnets, providing a broad platform and possibilities for future research on low-dimensional spin electronic device applications.

RESUMO

This study aimed to systematically evaluate the impact of evidence-based nursing (EBN) on perioperative wound infections and postoperative complications in patients undergoing surgery for liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC). Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on the application of EBN on patients receiving LIHC surgery were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Wanfang, China Biomedical Literature Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from the inception of each database to September 2023. Studies were screened and evaluated by two investigators based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted from the final included literature. RevMan 4.0 was used for data analysis. Overall, 15 RCTs involving 1374 patients with LIHC were included, with 687 in the EBN group and 687 in the conventional care group. The analysis revealed that the incidence of wound infections (odds ratio [OR] = 0.32, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.18-0.56, p < 0.001) and postoperative complications (OR = 0.22, 95% CI: 0.15-0.31, p < 0.001) was significantly lower in the EBN group than in the conventional care group. The available evidence suggests that nursing strategies for EBN applied in the perioperative period in patients with LIHC receiving surgery can effectively reduce the incidence of wound infections and postoperative complications and promote postoperative recovery.

RESUMO

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important parameter in protecting the occupants of an indoor environment. Previous studies have shown that an indoor environment with poor ventilation increases airborne virus transmission. Existing research has concluded that high ventilation rates can reduce the risk of individuals in indoor environments being infected. However, most existing ventilation systems are designed to be efficient under non-pandemic conditions. Ultimately, indoor environments will become hotspots for the transmission of airborne viruses. Current infection risk assessments can estimate virus transmission via airborne routes, but with limited information sharing among stakeholders. Our own research did not identify any systems that integrate risk assessments with smart sensors in order to support information sharing with experts in indoor environments in their decision-making process. To fill this gap, we designed a blockchain-based prototype (AIRa) that integrates CO2 smart sensor data with infection risk assessments from a post-pandemic perspective. This system generates two types of alerts: (1) P-Alert and (2) R0-Alert for decision-making by building owners, such as increasing the ventilation rate or track and trace, as needed. AIRa shows various benefits over three existing infection-control alert systems. Our solution stores and shares information such as the timestamp and room number, instead of storing building user's personal information. Our approach does not require a QR code to be scanned or a mobile app to be downloaded in order to enable track and trace. However, AIRa is still an early prototype for evaluating the risks of airborne virus transmission in smart building environments. Multidisciplinary knowledge and technological research will be vital in formulating different alerts in the future.

RESUMO

The traditional meaning of ecological efficiency generally considers only the ratio of economic output to environmental input. This paper expands the meaning and the evaluation system of ecological efficiency from the perspective of improving people's livelihoods. Not only are the discharge of wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste included in the undesired output, but the output index also takes full account of the overall development of the economy, innovation, society and the environment from the perspective of high-quality development. Under the assumption of variable returns to scale, a super-efficiency slack-based measure model based on the undesirable output and Malmquist index is introduced to measure the spatial and temporal variation of ecological efficiency of Zhejiang Province in China, and the panel Tobit method is used to study the key factors affecting ecological efficiency. The results include the four following findings: (1) In the past 12 years, the ecological efficiency of Zhejiang Province has steadily increased, except in 2019 and 2020, when seven cities in Zhejiang Province experienced a decline or near stagnation due to the impact of the economic slowdown and the COVID-19 epidemic. (2) The ecological efficiency of Zhejiang demonstrates a severe regional imbalance, showing a high level in the northeast and a low level in the southwest. (3) Malmquist index analysis shows that the improvement of ecological efficiency in Zhejiang Province has shifted from mainly relying on the dual drivers of pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency in the early stage to relying on technological progress in the later stage. (4) Tobit regression analysis shows that industrialization structure, Theil index, and traffic activity have a significant positive effect on ecological efficiency.

RESUMO

Hydrophobic conjugated polymers have poor ionic transport property, so hydrophilic side chains are often grafted for their application as organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). However, this modification lowers their charge transport ability. Here, an ionic gel interfacial layer is applied to improve the ionic transport while retaining the charge transport ability of the polymers. By using the ionic gels comprising gel matrix and ionic liquids as the interfacial layers, the hydrophobic polymer achieves the OECT feature with high transconductance, low threshold voltage, high current on/off ratio, short switching time, and high operational stability. The working mechanism is also revealed. Moreover, the OECT performance can be tuned by varying the types and ratios of ionic gels. With the proposed ionic gel strategy, OECTs can be effectively realized with hydrophobic conjugated polymers.

RESUMO

An accurate visual reporter system to assess homology-directed repair (HDR) is a key prerequisite for evaluating the efficiency of Cas9-mediated precise gene editing. Herein, we tested the utility of the widespread promoterless EGFP reporter to assess the efficiency of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated homologous recombination by fluorescence expression. We firstly established a promoterless EGFP reporter donor targeting the porcine GAPDH locus to study CRISPR/Cas9-mediated homologous recombination in porcine cells. Curiously, EGFP was expressed at unexpectedly high levels from the promoterless donor in porcine cells, with or without Cas9/sgRNA. Even higher EGFP expression was detected in human cells and those of other species when the porcine donor was transfected alone. Therefore, EGFP could be expressed at certain level in various cells transfected with the promoterless EGFP reporter alone, making it a low-resolution reporter for measuring Cas9-mediated HDR events. In summary, the widespread promoterless EGFP reporter could not be an ideal measurement for HDR screening and there is an urgent need to develop a more reliable, high-resolution HDR screening system to better explore strategies of increasing the efficiency of Cas9-mediated HDR in mammalian cells.

RESUMO

City and regional planners have recently started exploring a circular approach to urban development. Meanwhile, industrial ecologists have been designing and refining methodologies to quantify and locate material flows and stocks within systems. This Perspective explores to which extent material stock studies can contribute to urban circularity, focusing on the built environment. We conducted a critical literature review of material stock studies that claim they contribute to circular cities. We classified each article according to a matrix we developed leveraging existing circular built environment frameworks of urban planning, architecture, and civil engineering and included the terminology of material stock studies. We found that, out of 271 studies, only 132 provided information that could be relevant to the implementation of circular cities, albeit to vastly different degrees of effectiveness. Of these 132, only 26 reported their results in a spatially explicit manner, which is fundamental to the effective actuation of circular city strategies. We argue that future research should strive to provide spatial data, avoid being siloed, and increase engagement with other sociopolitical fields to address the different needs of the relevant stakeholders for urban circularity.

RESUMO

2D conducting polymer thin film recently has garnered numerous interests as a means of combining the molecular aggregate ordering and promoting in-plane charge transport for large-scale/flexible organic electronics. However, it remains far from satisfactory for conducting polymer chains to achieve desirable surface topography and crystallinity due to lack of control over the precursor-involved interfacial assembly. Herein, wafer-size polyaniline (PANI) and tetra-aniline thin films are developed via a controlled interfacial synthesis with customized surface morphology and crystallinity through two typical aniline precursors selective polymerization. Two crucial competing assembly mechanisms, a) direct interfacial polymerization, b) solution polymerization and subsequent interfacial assembly, are investigated to play a vital role in determining elemental chain length and aggregate architecture. The optimal PANI thin film manifests ultraflat surface topography and unambiguous crystalline domains, which also enabling fascinating ammonia sensing capability with 31.4% ppm-1 sensitivity, fast response time (88 s) with astonishing selectivity, repeatability, and recovery capability. The thus-demonstrated strategy with wafer-scale processing potential and flexible microdevice offers a promising route for large-scale manufacturing thin-film organic electronics.

RESUMO

Background: The efficacy of PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors in patients with brain metastases of non-small-cell lung cancer (BM-NSCLC) is inconclusive. Materials & methods: An electronic search was performed. Randomized controlled trials RCTs that compared the efficacy of PD-1- or PD-L1-inhibitor-based regimens with non-PD-1/L1 inhibitor regimens in patients with NSCLC and reported the data of subgroup patients with brain metastases were eligible for inclusion. The hazard ratios (HRs) for progression-free survival and overall survival were pooled in BM-NSCLC. Results: Seven RCTs with 472 BM-NSCLC cases are included. The pooled HRs indicated that PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor-based regimens reduced risk of disease progression by 44% and reduced risk of death of BM-NSCLC patients by 29% compared with non-PD-1/L1 inhibitor regimens. Conclusion: This meta-analysis indicates that PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors can reduce risk of both disease progression and death of patients with brain metastases of NSCLC, who have been pretreated with local therapies and/or are asymptomatic for the brain lesions.

Lay abstracts The efficacy of PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors in patients with brain metastases of non-small-cell lung cancer (BM-NSCLC) is still inconclusive. We searched the electronic database of PubMed, Web of Science and Embase. All randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared the effectiveness of PD-1- or PD-L1-inhibitor-based treatment with non-PD-1/L1 inhibitor-based regimens in patients with NSCLC and reported the data of subgroup patients with brain metastases were eligible for inclusion. Finally, seven RCTs with 472 BM-NSCLC cases are included. All of these patients have been pretreated with local therapies and/or are asymptomatic for the brain lesions before joining the clinical trials. The pooled data of all trials indicated that PD-1- or PD-L1-inhibitor-based treatments reduced risk of disease progression of BM-NSCLC patients by 44% compared with non-PD-1/L1 inhibitor-based treatments. The results also showed that PD-1- or PD-L1-inhibitor-based treatments reduced risk of death of BM-NSCLC patients by 29% compared with non-PD-1/L1-inhibitor-based treatments. Our meta-analysis indicated that PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors can reduce risk of both disease progression and death in patients with brain metastases of NSCLC who have been pretreated with local therapies and/or are asymptomatic for the brain lesions.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Patients are classified according to the severity of their condition and graded according to the diagnosis and treatment capacity of medical institutions. This study aims to correctly assign patients to medical institutions for treatment and develop patient allocation and medical resource expansion schemes among hospitals in the medical network. METHODS: Illness severity, hospital level, allocation matching benefit, distance traveled, and emergency medical resource fairness were considered. A multi-objective planning method was used to construct a patient allocation model during major epidemics. A simulation study was carried out in two scenarios to test the proposed method. RESULTS: (1) The single-objective model obtains an unbalanced solution in contrast to the multi-objective model. The proposed model considers multi-objective problems and balances the degree of patient allocation matching, distance traveled, and fairness. (2) The non-hierarchical model has crowded resources, and the hierarchical model assigns patients to matched medical institutions. (3) In the "demand exceeds supply" situation, the patient allocation model identified additional resources needed by each hospital. CONCLUSION: Results verify the maneuverability and effectiveness of the proposed model. It can generate schemes for specific patient allocation and medical resource amplification and can serve as a quantitative decision-making tool in the context of major epidemics.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this meta-analysis is to systematically evaluate the efficacy of probiotics on allergic rhinitis (AR). METHODS: Collecting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with probiotics as intervention measures for AR, two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted the data and evaluated the methodological quality of the included studies, and used RevMan 5.3 software for meta-analysis to observe the effects of probiotics on Rhinitis Quality of Life (RQLQ) scores, Rhinitis Total Symptom Scores (RTSS), blood eosinophil count, total and antigen-specific serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels by using the fixed- or the random-effects model to calculate the pooled risk for significant heterogeneity. RESULTS: A total of 2708 patients were included in 30 RCTs. Meta-analysis results showed that the RQLQ global scores (mean difference [MD] = -9.43; P < 0.00001), RQLQ nasal scores (MD = -1.52; P = 0.03), and RTSS nasal scores (MD = -1.96; P = 0.02) significantly improved in the probiotic group when compared with those in the placebo group. There was no significant difference in blood eosinophil count (MD = -0.09; P=0.82), RQLQ eye scores (MD = -1.45; P = 0.07), RTSS global scores (MD = -2.24; P = 0.26), RTSS eye scores (MD = -0.39; P = 0.31), total and antigen-specific serum IgE levels (MD = -0.04; P = 0.7 and MD = -0.08; P = 0.81) between the probiotic and the placebo group. CONCLUSION: Compared with the placebo group, the quality of life and symptoms of patients with AR significantly improved in the probiotic group, thus providing a new potential method for the application of probiotics in AR. However, because of the limited evidence for the current study outcomes, the heterogeneity of research, and the differences in research results, more high-quality studies are needed to in the future.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Tracheobronchial foreign body (TFB) aspiration is a significant cause of respiratory problems in children. The timely diagnosis of TFB is important to decrease the mortality rate and the incidence of complications. Advances in radiology have led multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) to become the best technique for diagnosing TFB. METHODS: We performed a retrospective study over 5 years from July 2008 to June 2013. We collected information on children who were diagnosed with a TFB by bronchoscopy, and analyzed age, sex, location, type of foreign body, and various MSCT manifestations. RESULTS: A total of 382 children were included and 68.6% of them were aged 1 to <2 years. The majority (95.8%) of aspirated foreign bodies were vegetation items, and nearly half (47.6%) of them were peanut kernels, followed by sunflower seeds (26.2%). A total of 4.7% of TFBs were in the trachea, 51.0% were in the left main bronchus, and 44.2% were in the right main bronchus. Among the TFBs, 359 (95.5%) showed a high-density shadow in the tracheal / bronchial lumen using MSCT, which could establish the presence of a foreign body directly. Emphysema, localized obstruction and pneumonia were more commonly detected in the 7-21 days and ≥21 days group compared with those in the <7 days group (all P < 0.01). Bronchiectasis was found in two children who were diagnosed at least 21 days after aspiration. CONCLUSIONS: Multi-slice spiral computed tomography is very sensitive to TFBs. Timely diagnosis and treatment of TFB is important to prevent long-term sequelae in children.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Clinical decision support (CDS) is a tool that helps clinicians in decision making by generating clinical alerts to supplement their previous knowledge and experience. However, CDS generates a high volume of irrelevant alerts, resulting in alert fatigue among clinicians. Alert fatigue is the mental state of alerts consuming too much time and mental energy, which often results in relevant alerts being overridden unjustifiably, along with clinically irrelevant ones. Consequently, clinicians become less responsive to important alerts, which opens the door to medication errors. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore how a blockchain-based solution can reduce alert fatigue through collaborative alert sharing in the health sector, thus improving overall health care quality for both patients and clinicians. METHODS: We have designed a 4-step approach to answer this research question. First, we identified five potential challenges based on the published literature through a scoping review. Second, a framework is designed to reduce alert fatigue by addressing the identified challenges with different digital components. Third, an evaluation is made by comparing MedAlert with other proposed solutions. Finally, the limitations and future work are also discussed. RESULTS: Of the 341 academic papers collected, 8 were selected and analyzed. MedAlert securely distributes low-level (nonlife-threatening) clinical alerts to patients, enabling a collaborative clinical decision. Among the solutions in our framework, Hyperledger (private permissioned blockchain) and BankID (federated digital identity management) have been selected to overcome challenges such as data integrity, user identity, and privacy issues. CONCLUSIONS: MedAlert can reduce alert fatigue by attracting the attention of patients and clinicians, instead of solely reducing the total number of alerts. MedAlert offers other advantages, such as ensuring a higher degree of patient privacy and faster transaction times compared with other frameworks. This framework may not be suitable for elderly patients who are not technology savvy or in-patients. Future work in validating this framework based on real health care scenarios is needed to provide the performance evaluations of MedAlert and thus gain support for the better development of this idea.

RESUMO

Transcription factors are recognized as the key regulators of gene expression. However, the changes in the correlation of transcription factors and their target genes between normal and tumor tissues are usually ignored. In this research, we used mRNA expression profile data from The Cancer Genome Atlas which included 5726 samples across 11 major human cancers to perform co-expression analysis by the Pearson correlation coefficients. Then, integrating 81,357 pairs of transcription factors and target genes from transcription factors databases to find out the changes in the co-expression correlation of these gene pairs from normal to tumor tissues. Based on the changes in the number of co-expressed TF-TG pairs and changes in the level of co-expression, we found the generally reduced correlation between transcription factors and their target genes in cancer. Additionally, we screened out universal and specific transcription factors-target genes pairs which may significant influence particular cancer. Then, we obtained 423 cancer cell line expression profiles from Broad Institute Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia to verify our results. Some of these pairs like XRCC5-XRCC6 have been reported to involve in multiple cancers, while pairs like IRF1-PSMB9 without any previous articles related to tumor but involve in the biological processes of cancer, which are of great potential to be therapeutic targets. Our research may provide insights to better understand the tumor development mechanisms and find potential therapeutic targets.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the relationship between visceral fat thickness measured by US and the estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in patients with obesity who did not have hypertension or diabetes and who had normal renal function. METHODS: Inclusion criteria included an estimated GFR of greater than 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 , blood pressure lower than 120/80 mm Hg, and a fasting blood glucose level of less than 126 mg/dL. Patients were divided into groups with (body mass index ≥28 kg/m2 ) and without (body mass index <28 kg/m2 ) obesity. Subcutaneous and visceral fat thicknesses were measured with ultrasound. RESULTS: A total of 95 patients were enrolled with an age range of 25 to 58 years. The patients were divided into groups with (n = 48) and without obesity (n = 47); patients with obesity were further divided into subcutaneous obesity (n = 23) and visceral obesity (n = 25) groups. The estimated GFR in the group with obesity was significantly lower than that in the group without obesity (P = .037), and the estimated GFR in the group with visceral obesity was significantly lower than that in the group with subcutaneous obesity (P = .006). Moreover, the estimated GFR was negatively correlated with visceral fat thickness (V1:r = -0.750;P7 < 0.001;V2:r = -0.824;P < 0.001) but not correlated with subcutaneous fat thickness. CONCLUSIONS: Ultrasound is an easy and accurate practical evaluation modality for measuring the thickness of fat. There was an inverse relationship between the estimated GFR and visceral fat thickness in patients with obesity who did not have hypertension or diabetes and who had normal renal function. This result suggests that as visceral fat increases, the estimated GFR may be reduced accordingly.

RESUMO

Convenient and sensitive detection of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) dimerization is highly desirable for molecule subtyping and guiding personalized HER2 targeted therapy of breast cancer. A colocalization-triggered DNA nanoassembly (CtDNA) strategy was developed for amplified imaging of HER2 dimerization. It exploits (a) the advantage of the specificity of aptamer proximity hybridization, and (b) the high sensitivity of hairpin-free nonlinear HCR. The mechanism of step-by-step hairpin-free nonlinear HCR for DNA dendritic nanoassembly was studied by native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, atomic force microscopy and fluorometry. The results revealed a high specificity, sensitivity, and excellent controllability of the DNA dendritic nanoassembly. The method was used to identify HER2 homodimers and HER2/HER3 heterodimers in various breast cancer cell lines using fluorescence microscopy. It was then extended to image and quantitatively evaluate HER2 homodimers in clinical formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded breast cancer tissue specimens. This revealed its remarkable accuracy and practicality for clinical diagnostics. RESUMO

Reporter cell lines are a particularly useful tool to screen for the skin sensitization potential of chemicals. Current cell models based on Keap1-Nrf2 mimic induction by conducting antioxidant response element-luciferase plasmids. However, plasmid-based reporters may ignore comprehensive aspects of induction, thus affecting the accuracy of hazard identification. Herein, we developed a novel HaCaT-based reporter system, EndoSens, whereby luciferase was specifically inserted into the cassette for heme oxygenase (decycling) 1 (HMOX1, the most consistent marker induced by skin sensitizers) by CRISPR/Cas9. Testing data from 20 coded substances showed an accuracy of 90%, sensitivity of 91.7%, and specificity of 87.5%, which exceeded the OECD requirement. Among the 35 chemicals examined, predictivity was better than reported for the validated KeratinoSens™. These results indicate that the EndoSens assay could advance the predictivity of skin sensitization, thus making it a promising tool for in vitro skin sensitization testing.

RESUMO

Introducing foreign particles or agents as nucleator is an efficient way to promote crystallization in the crystal growth field, with the advantage to speed up the crystallizing rate and control the growth process. However, in the field of organic crystalline film growth, where the crystallization and morphology modulation are of significant importance in optoelectronics, this method has rarely been utilized. Particularly, some potential high-performance materials such as rubrene face the problem of crystallization during film formation. Here a strategy is reported to promote the crystallization of rubrene films in the initial stage assisted by foreign particles. Highly ordered thin film from the sub-monolayer stage can be achieved. Efficient charge transport and high mobility up to 2.95 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) are achieved on thus ultrathin crystalline films. Such a method enables the well controlling of the film growth from the very early stage and produces uniform crystalline films with good reproducibility, thus highly promising to yield desired optoelectrical properties and applications.
