RESUMO

The shortage of organs for transplantation emphasizes the urgent need for alternative solutions. Xenotransplantation has emerged as a promising option due to the greater availability of donor organs. However, significant hurdles such as hyperacute rejection and organ ischemia-reperfusion injury pose major challenges, largely orchestrated by the complement system, and activated immune responses. The complement system, a pivotal component of innate immunity, acts as a natural barrier for xenotransplantation. To address the challenges of immune rejection, gene-edited pigs have become a focal point, aiming to shield donor organs from human immune responses and enhance the overall success of xenotransplantation. This comprehensive review aims to illuminate strategies for regulating complement networks to optimize the efficacy of gene-edited pig xenotransplantation. We begin by exploring the impact of the complement system on the effectiveness of xenotransplantation. Subsequently, we delve into the evaluation of key complement regulators specific to gene-edited pigs. To further understand the status of xenotransplantation, we discuss preclinical studies that utilize gene-edited pigs as a viable source of organs. These investigations provide valuable insights into the feasibility and potential success of xenotransplantation, offering a bridge between scientific advancements and clinical application.

MAIN CONCLUSION: Spatial organization and connectivity of wood rays in Pinus massoniana was comprehensively viewed and regarded as anatomical adaptions to ensure the properties of rays in xylem. Spatial organization and connectivity of wood rays are essential for understanding the wood hierarchical architecture, but the spatial information is ambiguous due to small cell size. Herein, 3D visualization of rays in Pinus massoniana was performed using high-resolution µCT. We found brick-shaped rays were 6.5% in volume fractions, nearly twice the area fractions estimated by 2D levels. Uniseriate rays became taller and wider during the transition from earlywood to latewood, which was mainly contributed from the height increment of ray tracheids and widened ray parenchyma cells. Furthermore, both volume and surface area of ray parenchyma cells were larger than ray tracheids, so ray parenchyma took a higher proportion in rays. Moreover, three different types of pits for connectivity were segmented and revealed. Pits in both axial tracheids and ray tracheids were bordered, but the pit volume and pit aperture of earlywood axial tracheids were almost tenfold and over fourfold larger than ray tracheids. Contrarily, cross-field pits between ray parenchyma and axial tracheids were window-like with the principal axis of 31.0 µm, but its pit volume was approximately one-third of axial tracheids. Additionally, spatial organization of rays and axial resin canal was analyzed by a curved surface reformation tool, providing the first evidence of rays close to epithelial cells inward through the resin canal. Epithelial cells had various morphologies and large variations in cell size. Our results give new insights into the organization of radial system of xylem, especially the connectivity of rays with adjacent cells.

Epilepsy is a complex neurological disease characterized by spontaneous recurrent seizures that affect around 1% of the global population. Despite the significant progress in the mechanisms of epileptogenesis, there is still about 60% of cases in which the cause is unknown. Thus, revealing the molecular mechanisms of epileptogenesis will greatly improve the development of epilepsy treatment. Since the comprehensive characterization of amino acids and water-soluble vitamins is important in understanding the underlying mechanisms of epilepsy or seizures, we developed two liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry methods to quantify 17 water-soluble vitamins and 46 amino acids and applied them to our pentylenetetrazole-induced kindling rat model. All water-soluble vitamins were detected with a linearity of r > 0.992 and limits of quantitation between 0.1 and 5 ng/ml except for nicotinic acid. For amino acids, the linearities obtained were good with correlation coefficients higher than 0.99, and matrix effects were between 85.3% and 110%. To handle the multidimensional data more effectively, multivariate statistical analysis approaches used in non-targeted metabolomics were creatively exploited in the visualization, interpretation, and exploration of the results.

The meta-analysis aimed to assess the clinical efficacy of chemotherapeutic triplet-drug regimen combined with anti-EGFR antibody in patients with initially unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). A systematic literature search was performed in PubMed Publisher. Studies evaluating FOLFOXIRI combine with panitumumab or cetuximab as the therapy for initially unresectable mCRC were included. The primary outcome was objective response rate (ORR) and rate of R0 resections. The secondary outcomes included overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and grades 3 or 4 adverse events. R software (version 4.0.2) and RevMan (version 5.3) were used to analyze the extracted data. The studies included were published between 2010 and 2021, involving four single-arm phase II trials and two randomized phase II trials. A total of 6 studies with 282 patients were included. The data showed a significant benefit for the FOLFOXIRI + anti-EGFR antibody arm compared with FOLFOXIRI arm (RR 1.33; 95% CI, 1.13-1.58; I2 = 0%, P < 0.05). The pooled ORR and pooled rate of R0 resection in patients who receiving FOLFOXIRI + anti-EGFR antibody were 85% (95% CI, 0.78-0.91; I2 = 58%) and 42% (95% CI, 0.32-0.53; I2 = 62%), respectively. The range of median PFS between all the six studies was 9.5-15.5 months, with weighted pooled median PFS mean 11.7 months. The range of median OS between all the four studies was 24.7-37 months, with weighted pooled median PFS mean 31.9 months. The common grades 3 and 4 adverse events were diarrhea and neutropenia. Our findings show that triplet-drug chemotherapy (FOLFOXIRI) combined with anti-EGFR antibody (panitumumab or cetuximab) represents a very effective therapeutic combination associated with a significant ORR and R0 rection rate for patients with molecularly unselected and surgically unresectable metastatic CRC.

Triticum boeoticum (2n = 2x = 14, AbAb) is an important relative of wheat. This species tolerates many different types of environmental stresses, including drought, salt, and pathogenic infection, and is lower in dietary fiber and higher in antioxidants, protein (15 to 18%), lipids, and trace elements than common wheat. However, the gene transfer rate from this species to common wheat is low, and few species-specific molecular markers are available. In this study, the wheat-T. boeoticum substitution line Z1889, derived from a cross between the common wheat cultivar Crocus and T. boeoticum line G52, was identified using multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization, multicolor genomic in situ hybridization, and a 55K single-nucleotide polymorphism array. Z1889 was revealed to be a 4Ab (4B) substitution line with a high degree of resistance to stripe rust pathogen strains prevalent in China. In addition, 22 4Ab chromosome-specific molecular markers and 11 T. boeoticum genome-specific molecular markers were developed from 1,145 4Ab chromosome-specific fragments by comparing the sequences generated by specific-length amplified fragment sequencing, with an efficiency of up to 55.0%. Furthermore, the specificity of these markers was verified in four species containing the Ab genome. These markers not only can be used for the detection of the 4Ab chromosome but also provide a basis for molecular marker-assisted, selection-based breeding in wheat.

The recycling reverse osmosis (RO) membrane concentrate of some high-ammonia nitrogen (NH4+-N) organic wastewater to the biological unit could cause potassium ion (K+) accumulation, thereby affecting the removal of NH4+-N by activated sludge. Thus, the effects of high K+ stress on activated sludge nitrification performance was studied. The results showed that the high K+ stress promoted the floc sludge to produce more extracellular polymers (EPS), which accelerated the sludge sedimentation and enriched the biomass in sequential batch reactors (SBRs). The ammonia oxidation process and nitrite (NO2--N) oxidation process were further analyzed in the nitrification process. High K+ stress enriched ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB), which ensured the efficient ammonia oxidation process in SBRs, and ensured the removal rate of NH4+-N was maintained above 93%. However, high K+ stress (15g/L KCl) inhibited the activity of NO2--N oxidizing bacteria (NOB) and reduced the abundance of NOB, thus leading to the accumulation of NO2--N, and finally worsened the nitrification performance of activated sludge. In short, the performance of activated sludge will not be inhibited when the K+ in the wastewater does not exceed 5.23 g/L. The results could provide a reference for the optimization of the biological performance in treating high-NH4+-N organic wastewater with activated sludge coupled RO membrane treatment process.

The eco-friendly properties enable two-dimensional (2D) Cu-based perovskites as ideal candidates for next-generation optoelectronics, but practical application is limited by low photoelectric conversion efficiency because of poor carrier transport abilities. Here, we report enhanced structural stability of 2D CuBr4 perovskites under compression up to 30 GPa, without obvious volume collapse or structural amorphization, by inserting organic C6 H5 CH2 NH3 (PMA) groups between layers. The band gap value of (PMA)2 CuBr4 can be effectively tuned from 1.8 to 1.47 eV by employing external pressures, leading to a broadened absorption range of 400-800 nm. Notably, we successfully detected photoconductivity of the photoresponse at pressures from 10 to 40 GPa; the maximum value of 5×10-3  S cm-1 is observed at 28 GPa, indicating potential applications for high performance photovoltaic candidates under extreme conditions.

BACKGROUND: Plant height is an important architecture trait which is a fundamental yield-determining trait in crops. Variety with dwarf or semi-dwarf phenotype is a major objective in the breeding because dwarfing architecture can help to increase harvest index, increase planting density, enhance lodging resistance, and thus be suitable for mechanization harvest. Although some germplasm or genes associated with dwarfing plant type have been carried out. The molecular mechanisms underlying dwarfism in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) are poorly understood, restricting the progress of breeding dwarf varieties in this species. Here, we report a new dwarf mutant Bndwarf2 from our B. napus germplasm. We studied its inheritance and mapped the dwarf locus BnDWARF2. RESULTS: The inheritance analysis showed that the dwarfism phenotype was controlled by one semi-dominant gene, which was mapped in an interval of 787.88 kb on the C04 chromosome of B. napus by Illumina Brassica 60 K Bead Chip Array. To fine-map BnDWARF2, 318 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers were designed to uniformly cover the mapping interval. Among them, 15 polymorphic primers that narrowed down the BnDWARF2 locus to 34.62 kb were detected using a F2:3 family population with 889 individuals. Protein sequence analysis showed that only BnaC04.BIL1 (BnaC04g41660D) had two amino acid residues substitutions (Thr187Ser and Gln399His) between ZS11 and Bndwarf2, which encoding a GLYCOGEN SYNTHASE KINASE 3 (GSK3-like). The quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis showed that the BnaC04.BIL1 gene expressed in all tissues of oilseed rape. Subcellular localization experiment showed that BnaC04.BIL1 was localized in the nucleus in tobacco leaf cells. Genetic transformation experiments confirmed that the BnaC04.BIL1 is responsible for the plant dwarf phenotype in the Bndwarf2 mutants. Overexpression of BnaC04.BIL1 reduced plant height, but also resulted in compact plant architecture. CONCLUSIONS: A dominant dwarfing gene, BnaC04.BIL1, encodes an GSK3-like that negatively regulates plant height, was mapped and isolated. Our identification of a distinct gene locus may help to improve lodging resistance in oilseed rape.

AIMS: To compare patient mortality and technique survival between patients undergoing assisted peritoneal dialysis (aPD) and self-care peritoneal dialysis (sPD). METHODS: Patients who underwent peritoneal dialysis (PD) at the dialysis center of Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2016, were included and followed to December 31, 2019. Subjects were divided into aPD and sPD groups according to whether the patient could independently complete the PD procedure. Differences in mortality and technique failure rates were compared using competing risk analysis. RESULTS: A total of 384 patients were included in this study, with 274 patients in the sPD group and 110 patients in the aPD group. The multivariate competing risk regression analysis revealed that age (HR 1.03,95%CI 1.01-1.05, P < .001), aPD (HR 1.84,95%CI 1.10-3.08, P = .02), diabetes (HR 1.51, 95%CI 1.00-2.30, P = .05), residual renal function (HR 0.89, 95%CI 0.82-0.97, P = .005) and serum albumin level (HR 0.92, 95% CI 0.89-0.96, P < .001) were the independent risk factors for mortality. Besides, technique failure in aPD patients was lower than in the sPD group (HR 0.85, 95% CI 0.68-0.97, P = .03). CONCLUSION: These results found that aPD patients had higher mortality rates but lower technique failure rates than sPD patients. Higher mortality in aPD is probably related to the negative selection of the more comorbid patients. ​ ​.

Leaf trait is an important target trait in crop breeding programs. Moderate leaf curling may be a help for improving crop yield by minimizing the shadowing by leaves. Mining locus for leaf curling trait is of significance for plant genetics and breeding researches. The present study identified a novel rapeseed accession with up-curling leaf, analyzed the up-curling leaf trait inheritance, and fine mapped the locus for up-curling leaf property (Bnuc3) in Brassica napus. Genetic analysis revealed that the up-curling leaf trait is controlled by a single dominant locus, named BnUC3. We performed an association study of BnUC3 with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers using a backcross population derived from the homozygous up-curling leaf line NJAU-M1295 and the canola variety 'zhongshuang11' with typical flat leaves, and mapped the BnUC3 locus in a 1.92 Mb interval of chromosome A02 of B. napus. To further map BnUC3, 232 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers and four pairs of Insertion/Deletion (InDel) primers were developed for the mapping interval. Among them, five SSR markers and two InDel markers were polymorphic. By these markers, the mapping interval was narrowed to 92.0 kb using another F2 population. This fine mapping interval has 11 annotated genes among which BnaA02T0157000ZS were inferred to be candidate casual genes for up-curling leaf based on the cloned sequence analysis, gene functionality, and gene expression analysis. The current study laid a foundational basis for further elucidating the mechanism of BnUC3 and breeding of variety with up-curling leaf.

Evaluating the deterioration state of archeological wood is obligatory before the preservation of archeological wooden artifacts. Herein, a nondestructive, accurate, and rapid methodology is first developed via direct analysis in real time-mass spectrometry (DART-MS) with chemometrics to classify archeological wood and recent wood into 3 groups according to their deterioration states. As water in wooden artifacts probably affected the ion fragmentation process during DART-MS, ions responsible for evaluating the deterioration state were separately screened toward waterlogged archeological wood and dried archeological wood by partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). The well-defined separation of severely decayed archeological wood, moderately decayed archeological wood and recent wood was revealed in PLS-DA models. Twenty and 27 wood fragment ions were further screened as key variables to evaluate the deterioration state of waterlogged archeological wood and dried archeological wood, respectively. They were tentatively identified as ions of lignin monomeric compositions, lignin dimers, lignin trimers, and oligosaccharides. Results strongly suggested that differences in the structure and relative abundances of wood cell wall components accounts for the evaluation of deterioration state by DART-MS coupled to chemometrics. PLS-DA models provided R2Y = 0.836, Q2 = 0.817, and R2Y = 0.754, Q2 = 0.682 were then established separately using mass spectral fingerprints of respective potential predictive wood fragment ions. Furthermore, archeological woods, consisting of Castanopsis, Quercus, Idesia, Populus, and Cunninghamia species and with an average MWC range of 103-465%, were used as an external validation set and evaluated with the methodology developed herein and the MWC criteria. Results showed that DART-MS coupled to chemometrics could accurately predict the inhomogeneous deterioration states of archeological wooden artifacts and avoid the interference of inorganic deposits, in comparison with the MWC criteria.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the effects of climatic variables on peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis (PDAP) among patients receiving PD, such as seasonal variations in temperature and humidity. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on PD patients, from 1 January 2011, to 31 December 2019. We evaluated the influence of seasonal factors on peritonitis rates and outcomes. RESULTS: Over the 9-year study period, 667 peritonitis episodes occurred, in 401 PD patients. Diarrhea-associated peritonitis occurred more frequently in summer compared with other seasons. Eating raw and cold food was identified as the primary cause of peritonitis in the summer. More peritonitis episodes occurred during summer. The peritonitis rate associated with gram-negative bacteria (p = 0.050) during summer was higher than those in all other seasons. The gram-negative bacterial peritonitis rate was positively correlated with monthly mean temperature (r = 0.504, p < 0.01) and humidity (r = 0.561, p < 0.01). A similar trend was observed for Enterobacterial peritonitis (temperature: r = 0.518, p < 0.01; humidity: r = 0.456, p = 0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that summer was a risk factor for peritonitis (p = 0.041). Peritonitis prognosis during summer was significantly worse than those for all other seasons (p = 0.037). CONCLUSIONS: Seasonal variations exist in the incidence of dialysis-associated peritonitis, with peak incidents caused by gram-negative bacteria in the summer. High average temperature and humidity are associated with significant increases in the gram-negative bacteria and Enterobacterial peritonitis rates. Peritonitis prognosis during summer is worse.

In this study, a novel aggregation-induced emission supramolecular organic framework (AIE SOF) with ultrasensitive response, termed FSOF, was constructed using a tri-pillar[5]arene-based foldamer. Interestingly, benefiting from the noise signal shielding properties of FSOF as well as the competition between the cationπ and ππ interactions, the FSOF shows an ultrasensitive response for multi-analytes, such as Fe3+, Hg2+ and Cr3+. The limits of detection (LODs) of the FSOF for Fe3+, Hg2+ and Cr3+ are in the range of 9.40 × 10-10-1.86 × 10-9. More importantly, the xerogel of FSOF exhibits porous mesh structures, which could effect high-efficiency separation above metal ions from their aqueous solution, with adsorption percentages in the range 92.39-99.99%. In addition, by introducing metal ions into the FSOF, a series of metal ions coordinated supramolecular organic frameworks (MSOFs) were successfully constructed. Moreover, MSOFs show selective fluorescence "turn on" ultrasensitive detection CN- (LOD = 2.12 × 10-9) and H2PO4- (LOD = 1.78 × 10-9). This is a novel approach to construct SOFs through a tri-pillar[5]arene-based foldamer, and also provides a new way to achieve ultrasensitive detection and high-efficiency separation.

Pterocarpus santalinus and Pterocarpus tincorius are commonly used traded timber species of the genus Pterocarpus. P. santalinus has been listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). As a non-CITES species, P. tincorius is also indiscriminately labeled as P. santalinus due to the similar macroscopic and microscopic features with P. santalinus. In order to understand the molecular discrimination between these easily confused species, xylarium heartwoods of these two species were extracted by three different kinds of solvents and analyzed using gas chromatography⁻mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Multivariate analyses were also applied for the selection of marker compounds that are distinctive between P. santalinus and P. tincorius. A total of twenty volatile compounds were detected and tentatively identified in three kinds of extracts, and these compounds included alcohols, stilbenoids, esters, aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, miscellaneous, phenols, and flavonoids. GC-MS analyses also revealed that extraction solvents including ethanol and water (EW), ethyl acetate (EA), and benzene⁻ethanol (BE) gave the best chemotaxonomical discrimination in the chemical components and relative contents of the two Pterocarpus species. After chemometric analyses, EW displayed higher predictive accuracy (100%) than those of EA extract (83.33%) and BE extract (83.33%). Furthermore, spathulenol (17.58 min) and pterostilbene (23.65 min) were elucidated as the critical compounds for the separation of the EW extracts of P. santalinus and P. tinctorius. In recent years, with the rapid development of machine learning techniques,the deep learning algorithm has been widely used in one-dimensional physiological signal processing. In this paper we used electroencephalography (EEG) signals based on deep belief network (DBN) model in open source frameworks of deep learning to identify emotional state (positive, negative and neutrals), then the results of DBN were compared with support vector machine (SVM). The EEG signals were collected from the subjects who were under different emotional stimuli, and DBN and SVM were adopted to identify the EEG signals with changes of different characteristics and different frequency bands. We found that the average accuracy of differential entropy (DE) feature by DBN is 89.12%±6.54%, which has a better performance than previous research based on the same data set. At the same time, the classification effects of DBN are better than the results from traditional SVM (the average classification accuracy of 84.2%±9.24%) and its accuracy and stability have a better trend. In three experiments with different time points, single subject can achieve the consistent results of classification by using DBN (the mean standard deviation is1.44%), and the experimental results show that the system has steady performance and good repeatability. According to our research, the characteristic of DE has a better classification result than other characteristics. Furthermore, the Beta band and the Gamma band in the emotional recognition model have higher classification accuracy. To sum up, the performances of classifiers have a promotion by using the deep learning algorithm, which has a reference for establishing a more accurate system of emotional recognition. Meanwhile, we can trace through the results of recognition to find out the brain regions and frequency band that are related to the emotions, which can help us to understand the emotional mechanism better. This study has a high academic value and practical significance, so further investigation still needs to be done.

MAIN CONCLUSION: ITS2+ trnH - psbA was the best combination of DNA barcode to resolve the Dalbergia wood species studied. We demonstrate the feasibility of building a DNA barcode reference database using xylarium wood specimens. The increase in illegal logging and timber trade of CITES-listed tropical species necessitates the development of unambiguous identification methods at the species level. For these methods to be fully functional and deployable for law enforcement, they must work using wood or wood products. DNA barcoding of wood has been promoted as a promising tool for species identification; however, the main barrier to extensive application of DNA barcoding to wood is the lack of a comprehensive and reliable DNA reference library of barcodes from wood. In this study, xylarium wood specimens of nine Dalbergia species were selected from the Wood Collection of the Chinese Academy of Forestry and DNA was then extracted from them for further PCR amplification of eight potential DNA barcode sequences (ITS2, matK, trnL, trnH-psbA, trnV-trnM1, trnV-trnM2, trnC-petN, and trnS-trnG). The barcodes were tested singly and in combination for species-level discrimination ability by tree-based [neighbor-joining (NJ)] and distance-based (TaxonDNA) methods. We found that the discrimination ability of DNA barcodes in combination was higher than any single DNA marker among the Dalbergia species studied, with the best two-marker combination of ITS2+trnH-psbA analyzed with NJ trees performing the best (100% accuracy). These barcodes are relatively short regions (<350 bp) and amplification reactions were performed with high success (≥90%) using wood as the source material, a necessary factor to apply DNA barcoding to timber trade. The present results demonstrate the feasibility of using vouchered xylarium specimens to build DNA barcoding reference databases.

A novel organic gelator (PZ) has been synthesized by rationally connecting a pillar[5]arene moiety and a bis(hexadecyloxy)phenyl functionalized acylhydrazone moiety. PZ could self-assemble into a supramolecular polymer and form a stable organogel (OPZ) in cyclohexanol by multi-self-assembly driving forces such as C-Hπ, ππ, vdW and hydrogen bonding interactions. The organogel (OPZ) shows blue aggregation-induced emission (AIE). Interestingly, the organogel OPZ could sense iodide ions (I-) in the gel-gel state with high selectivity and sensitivity. The detection limit of OPZ for I- is 9.4 × 10-8 M, indicating high sensitivity to I-. Furthermore, a thin film based on OPZ was prepared, which could be used as a smart material for the detection of I- as well as a fluorescent security display material.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate genetic variation, population structure, and the extent of linkage disequilibrium (LD), 134 switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) samples were analyzed with 51 markers, including 16 ISSRs, 20 SCoTs, and 15 EST-SSRs. RESULTS: In this study, a high level of genetic variation was observed in the switchgrass samples and they had an average Nei's gene diversity index (H) of 0.311. A total of 793 bands were obtained, of which 708 (89.28 %) were polymorphic. Using a parameter marker index (MI), the efficiency of the three types of markers (ISSR, SCoT, and EST-SSR) in the study were compared and we found that SCoT had a higher marker efficiency than the other two markers. The 134 switchgrass samples could be divided into two sub-populations based on STRUCTURE, UPGMA clustering, and principal coordinate analyses (PCA), and upland and lowland ecotypes could be separated by UPGMA clustering and PCA analyses. Linkage disequilibrium analysis revealed an average r2 of 0.035 across all 51 markers, indicating a trend of higher LD in sub-population 2 than that in sub-population 1 (P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The population structure revealed in this study will guide the design of future association studies using these switchgrass samples.

Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.), is a well-known perennial forage species; however, rust diseases have caused a noticeable reduction in the quality and production of orchardgrass. In this study, genetic diversity was assessed and the marker-trait associations for rust were examined using 18 EST-SSR and 21 SCoT markers in 75 orchardgrass accessions. A high level of genetic diversity was detected in orchardgrass with an average genetic diversity index of 0.369. For the EST-SSR and SCoT markers, 164 and 289 total bands were obtained, of which 148 (90.24%) and 272 (94.12%) were polymorphic, respectively. Results from an AMOVA analysis showed that more genetic variance existed within populations (87.57%) than among populations (12.43%). Using a parameter marker index, the efficiencies of the EST-SSR and SCoT markers were compared to show that SCoTs have higher marker efficiency (8.07) than EST-SSRs (4.82). The results of a UPGMA cluster analysis and a STRUCTURE analysis were both correlated with the geographic distribution of the orchardgrass accessions. Linkage disequilibrium analysis revealed an average r² of 0.1627 across all band pairs, indicating a high extent of linkage disequilibrium in the material. An association analysis between the rust trait and 410 bands from the EST-SSR and SCoT markers using TASSEL software revealed 20 band panels were associated with the rust trait in both 2011 and 2012. The 20 bands obtained from association analysis could be used in breeding programs for lineage selection to prevent great losses of orchardgrass caused by rust, and provide valuable information for further association mapping using this collection of orchardgrass.

RESUMO

Wearable devices bring us an innovative human-computer interaction which plays an irreplaceable role in enhancing the users' ability in environmental awareness, acquirements of their own state and "ubiquitous" computing power. Since 2013, wearable devices have quickly appeared around us. In this article we classify most of the wearable devices which have been appeared in the markets or reported in the literature according to their functions and the positions where they are worn. Furthermore, we review the technologies related to wearable devices, such as sensing technology, wireless communication, power manager, display technology and big data. At last, we analyze the challenges which the wearable devices will face in near future, and look forward to development trends of wearable devices.
