BACKGROUND: Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a common sleep disorder characterized by repetitive episodes of upper airway collapse during sleep associated with arousals with or without oxygen desaturation. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to assess and analyse the morphological and neurological factors associated with obstructive sleep apnoea using polysomnography study data and two-dimensional cephalometric analysis of airway and skeletal parameters and their correlation in the patients with varying severities of obstructive sleep apnoea. METHODS: This study included 892 patients who underwent a complete work up, including a thorough history, clinical examination, standard polysomnography study and 2D cephalometric analysis to diagnose obstructive sleep apnoea. This study divided the participants into two groups based on the AHI score from the PSG study: AHI < 15 and AHI > 15 groups. The groups were further divided into male and female groups to study the prevalence of OSA. The analysis involved 13 cephalometric parameters: Seven linear and six angular measurements. The airway parameters measured in this study were minimum posterior airway space (PAS_min), hyoid bone to the mandibular plane (H_MNP) and soft palate length (SPL). All the subjects in this study underwent a standard overnight polysomnography study at the sleep centre in Samsung Medical Center. RESULTS: A total of 892 adult participants (M: F = 727:165, mean age: 50.6 ± 13.2 years and age range: 18-85 years). AHI >15 group was significantly older with higher BMI, NC and WC compared to the AHI < 15 groups in both male and female groups. There was statistical significance observed in N1, N3, AI, ODI, lowest saturation (%) and apnoea max length between the groups (p < .001). The arousal index (AI), especially the respiratory arousal index was considerably higher in the male group. There were significantly higher values in all the PSG parameters in the male group. In the airway parameters, hyoid bone position and soft palate length showed significant differences (p < .001), whereas the PAS did not show any differences (p = .225) between the AHI <15 and AHI >15 groups. The overall skeletal cephalometric parameters showed no significant differences between the groups, whereas the gonial angle and AB to mandibular plane angle showed significant differences in the female group (p = .028, p = .041 respectively). CONCLUSION: The partial correlation of cephalometric parameters with AHI showed a stronger correlation between the H_MNP and AHI in both men and women. The position of the hyoid bone and the soft palate length influences the progression of OSA, especially in male patients. This study found no direct association between the minimum PAS and varying severities of OSA in men and women. We speculate that more than the craniofacial morphological factors such as the sagittal and vertical position of the maxilla and the mandible, the position of the hyoid bone might be more responsible for the severity of OSA.

Increased bone marrow adiposity is widely observed in patients with obesity and osteoporosis and reported to have deleterious effects on bone formation. Dracunculin (DCC) is a coumarin isolated from Artemisia spp. but, until now, has not been studied for its bioactive potential except antitrypanosomal activity. In this context, current study has reported the anti-adipogenic effect of DCC in human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (hBM-MSCs). DCC dose-dependently inhibited the lipid accumulation and expression of adipogenic transcription factors peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) and CCAAT/enhancer binding protein α (C/EBPα) in hBM-MSCs induced to undergo adipogenesis. To elucidate its action mechanism, the effect of DCC on Wnt/ß-catenin and AMPK pathways was examined. Results showed that DCC treatment activated Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway via AMPK evidenced by increased levels of AMPK phosphorylation and Wnt10b expression after DCC treatment. In addition, DCC treated adipo-induced hBM-MSCs exhibited significantly increased nuclear levels of ß-catenin compared with diminished nuclear PPARγ levels. In conclusion, DCC was shown to be able to hinder adipogenesis by activating the ß-catenin via AMPK, providing potential utilization of DCC as a nutraceutical against bone marrow adiposity.

RESUMO

A nosocomial outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 occurred in two general wards. One outbreak had pre-symptomatic transmission and was linked epidemiologically with an index case. The other outbreak was associated with early detection failure in a crowded room. Notably, adherence to appropriate mask wearing was not confirmed in the hospital outbreak. Confirmed cases were moved into isolation rooms, and contacts were quarantined. Quarantined cases were tested regularly and facilitated early termination of the hospital outbreak.

Background and Objectives: Abnormal epileptic discharges in the brain can affect the central brain regions that regulate autonomic activity and produce cardiac symptoms, either at onset or during propagation of a seizure. These autonomic alterations are related to cardiorespiratory disturbances, such as sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. This study aims to investigate the differences in cardiac autonomic function between patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and frontal lobe epilepsy (FLE) using ultra-short-term heart rate variability (HRV) analysis around seizures. Materials and Methods: We analyzed electrocardiogram (ECG) data recorded during 309 seizures in 58 patients with epilepsy. Twelve patients with FLE and 46 patients with TLE were included in this study. We extracted the HRV parameters from the ECG signal before, during and after the ictal interval with ultra-short-term HRV analysis. We statistically compared the HRV parameters using an independent t-test in each interval to compare the differences between groups, and repeated measures analysis of variance was used to test the group differences in longitudinal changes in the HRV parameters. We performed the Tukey-Kramer multiple comparisons procedure as the post hoc test. Results: Among the HRV parameters, the mean interval between heartbeats (RRi), normalized low-frequency band power (LF) and LF/HF ratio were statistically different between the interval and epilepsy types in the t-test. Repeated measures ANOVA showed that the mean RRi and RMSSD were significantly different by epilepsy type, and the normalized LF and LF/HF ratio significantly interacted with the epilepsy type and interval. Conclusions: During the pre-ictal interval, TLE patients showed an elevation in sympathetic activity, while the FLE patients showed an apparent increase and decrease in sympathetic activity when entering and ending the ictal period, respectively. The TLE patients showed a maintained elevation of sympathetic and vagal activity in the pos-ictal interval. These differences in autonomic cardiac characteristics between FLE and TLE might be relevant to the ictal symptoms which eventually result in SUDEP.

Prenatal ultrasonography (US) in a 39 year-old woman revealed massive fetal ascites. A fetal abdomino-amniotic shunting procedure was performed. Subsequently, plain radiographs demonstrated diffuse gaseous distention of the bowel and multiple punctate calcifications in the left upper abdomen. Postnatal US examination showed multiple echogenic foci in the liver and the left upper abdomen, bowel wall thickening in the right-sided abdomen, and undescended testes. There was no intra-abdominal free air or loculated fluid collections. Medical management was instituted secondary to the clinical suspicion of omental calcification, necrotizing enterocolitis, and undescended testes. Follow-up US examination showed resolution of portal vein gas and bowel wall thickening. The neonate recovered fully.

BACKGROUND: Little is known about the role of gastric microbiota except for Helicobacter pylori (HP) in human health and disease. We compared the differences of human gastric microbiota according to gastric cancer or control and HP infection status and assessed the role of bacteria other than HP. METHODS: Gastric microbiota of 63 antral mucosal and 18 corpus mucosal samples were analyzed by bar-coded 454 pyrosequencing of the 16S rRNA gene. Antral samples were divided into four subgroups based on HP positivity in pyrosequencing and the presence of cancer. The analysis was focused on bacteria other than HP, especially nitrosating or nitrate-reducing bacteria (NB). The changes of NB in antral mucosa of 16 subjects were followed up. RESULTS: The number of NB other than HP (non-HP-NB) was two times higher in the cancer groups than in the control groups, but it did not reach statistical significance. The number of non-HP-NB tends to increase over time, but this phenomenon was prevented by HP eradication in the HP-positive control group, but not in the HP-positive cancer group. CONCLUSION: We could not find the significant role of bacteria other than HP in the gastric carcinogenesis.

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) can cause various ocular motor disorders in addition to optic neuritis. Ocular motor findings associated with NMOSD include spontaneous vertical and gaze-evoked nystagmus, wall-eyed bilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia, and trochlear nerve palsy. The association between dorsal midbrain syndrome and anti-aquaporin-4 antibody seropositivity has not been reported. Here, we report a patient displaying typical dorsal midbrain syndrome and anti-aquaporin-4 antibody seropositivity.

BACKGROUND: Sequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene has improved the characterization of microbial communities. It enabled the detection of low abundance gastric Helicobacter pylori sequences even in subjects that were found to be H. pylori negative with conventional methods. The objective of this study was to obtain a cutoff value for H. pylori colonization in gastric mucosa samples by pyrosequencing method. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Gastric mucosal biopsies were taken from 63 subjects whose H. pylori status was determined by a combination of serology, rapid urease test, culture, and histology. Microbial DNA from mucosal samples was amplified by PCR using universal bacterial primers. 16S rDNA amplicons were pyrosequenced. ROC curve analysis was performed to determine the cutoff value for H. pylori colonization by pyrosequencing. In addition, temporal changes in the stomach microbiota were observed in eight initially H. pylori-positive and eight H. pylori-negative subjects at a single time point 1-8 years later. RESULTS: Of the 63 subjects, the presence of H. pylori sequences was detected in all (28/28) conventionally H. pylori-positive samples and in 60% (21/35) of H. pylori-negative samples. The average percent of H. pylori reads in each sample was 0.67 ± 1.09% in the H. pylori-negative group. Cutoff value for clinically positive H. pylori status was approximately 1.22% based on ROC curve analysis (AUC = 0.957; p < .001). Helicobacter pylori was successfully eradicated in five of seven treated H. pylori-positive subjects (71.4%), and the percentage of H. pylori reads in these five subjects dropped from 1.3-95.18% to 0-0.16% after eradication. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that the cutoff value of H. pylori sequence percentage for H. pylori colonization by pyrosequencing could be set at approximately 1%. It might be helpful to analyze gastric microbiota related to H. pylori sequence status.

Little is known about the time course of aging on interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) of colon. The aim of this study was to investigate the change of morphology, ICC, and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS)-immunoreactive cells in the aged rat. The proximal colon of 344 Fischer rats at four different ages (6, 31, 74 wk, and 2 yr) were studied. The immunoreactivity of c-Kit, nNOS, anti-protein gene product 9.5, and synaptophysin were counted after immunohistochemistry. The c-kit, stem cell factor (ligand of Kit), and nNOS mRNA were measured by real-time PCR. c-Kit and nNOS protein were assessed by Western blot. Isovolumetric contractile force measurement and electrical field stimulation (EFS) were conducted. The area of intramuscular fat deposition significantly increased with age after 31 wk. c-Kit-immunoreactive ICC and nNOS-immunoreactive neurons and nerve fibers significantly declined with age. mRNA and protein expression of c-kit and nNOS decreased with aging. The functional study showed that the spontaneous contractility was decreased in aged rat, whereas EFS responses in the presence of atropine and L-NG-Nitroarginine methyl ester were increased in aged rat. In conclusion, the decrease of proportion of proper smooth muscle, the density of ICC and nNOS-immunoreactive neuronal fibers, and the number of nNOS-immunoreactive neurons during the aging process may explain the aging-associated colonic dysmotility.

BACKGROUND: The reinfection rate of Helicobacter pylori has been reported to be low in developed countries but high in developing countries. The aim of this study is to evaluate the long-term reinfection rate of H. pylori and to investigate its associated risk factors in South Korea. METHODS: During 2003-2010, H. pylori-positive 970 patients received standard proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-based triple eradication therapy, and follow-up H. pylori tests were performed with (13) C urea breath test or invasive tests (Giemsa histology, CLO test, and culture) 4 weeks after completion of treatment. A total of 331 patients who were maintained an H. pylori-eradicated state at 1 year after eradication were divided into two groups according to reinfection. For the evaluation of risk factors of reinfection, gender, age, smoking, alcohol, income, education, gastrointestinal symptoms, clinical diagnosis, histologic atrophic gastritis or intestinal metaplasia, and clarithromycin resistance were analyzed. RESULTS: The follow-up period was 18-95 months (mean: 37.1 months), and H. pylori reappeared in 36 of 331 patients (10.9%), resulting in the annual reinfection rate of 3.51% per year. Multivariate analysis showed that male gender (HR 2.28; 95% CI, 1.05-5.00, p = .037) and low monthly family income (≤5000$ vs >5000$) (HR 3.54; 95% CI, 1.08-11.67, p = .038) were associated with H. pylori reinfection. CONCLUSION: This long-term reinfection rate of H. pylori stayed rather low (3.51% per year), and male and low income determined the reinfection, factors already known to be important for H. pylori infection.

BACKGROUND: The eradication rate with PPI-based standard triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection has fallen considerably. One recent innovation is sequential therapy with PPI and three antibiotics, but the complexity of this regimen may reduce its usability. Concomitant administration of nonbismuth quadruple drugs (concomitant therapy) is also an effective treatment strategy. To investigate which regimen is a reasonable choice for Korean population, we performed two pilot studies with sequential and concomitant therapies. METHODS: A total of 164 patients with proven H. pylori infection randomly received 14 days of sequential (n = 86) or concomitant (n = 78) therapies. The sequential group received 20 mg rabeprazole and 1 g amoxicillin (first week), followed by 20 mg rabeprazole, 500 mg clarithromycin, and 500 mg metronidazole (second week). The concomitant group received 20 mg rabeprazole, 1 g amoxicillin, 500 mg clarithromycin, and 500 mg metronidazole for 2 weeks. All drugs were administered BID. Helicobacter pylori status was confirmed 4 weeks later, after completion of treatment by (13) C-urea breath test. RESULTS: The intention-to-treat and per-protocol eradication rates were 75.6% (95% CI, 66.3-84.9) and 76.8% (95% CI, 67.1-85.5) in the sequential group, and 80.8% (95% CI, 71.8-88.5) and 81.3% (95% CI, 71.6-90.7) in the concomitant group. There were no significant between-group differences, in regard to the eradication rates, compliance, or side effects. The most common side effects were bitter taste, epigastric soreness, and diarrhea. CONCLUSIONS: Two-week concomitant and sequential therapies showed suboptimal efficacies. However, considering high antibiotics resistance, either of these two regimens may be a reasonable choice for Korean population.

BACKGROUND: The increasing trend of antibiotic resistance requires effective second-line Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) treatment in high prevalence area of H. pylori. The aim of our study was to evaluate the reinfection rate of H. pylori after second-line treatment that would determine the long-term follow up effect of the rescue therapy. METHODS: A total of 648 patients who had failed previous H. pylori eradication on standard triple therapy were randomized into two regimens: 1, esomeprazole (20 mg b.i.d), tripotassium dicitrate bismuthate (300 mg q.i.d), metronidazole (500 mg t.i.d), and tetracycline (500 mg q.i.d) (EBMT) or 2, moxifloxacin (400 mg q.d.), esomeprazole (20 mg b.i.d), and amoxicillin (1000 mg b.i.d.) (MEA). At four weeks after completion of eradication therapy, H. pylori tests were performed with 13C urea breath test or invasive tests. In patients who maintained continuous H. pylori negativity for the first year after eradication therapy, H. pylori status was assessed every year. For the evaluation of risk factors of reinfection, gender, age, clinical diagnosis, histological atrophic gastritis or intestinal metaplasia were analyzed. RESULTS: The recrudescence rate of the EBMT was 1.7% and of the MEA group 3.3% (p = 0.67). The annual reinfection rate of H. pylori of EBMT was found to be 4.45% and the MEA group 6.46%. Univariate analysis (Log-rank test) showed no association with any clinical risk factor for reinfection. CONCLUSIONS: The long-term reinfection rate of H. pylori stayed low in both of bismuth-containing quadruple therapy and moxifloxacin-based triple therapy; thus reinfection cannot affect the choice of second-line treatment. BACKGROUND: Bacteremic cholangitis carries a high mortality rate of up to 10 % in relation to organ failure (OF), including septic shock. AIM: The purpose of this study was to elucidate predictive factors for OF in bacteremic cholangitis. METHODS: A retrospective review of all patients diagnosed with acute cholangitis and proven bacteremia from 2003 to 2011 was performed. Comprehensive clinical and laboratory data of 211 patients were analyzed. RESULTS: There were 42 cases (19.9 %) of OF and 5 deaths (2.4 %). In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, significant predictive factors for OF were successful biliary decompression, presence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase organism (ESBL), higher total bilirubin, and higher blood urea nitrogen (BUN) level at admission with odds ratios (ORs) of 0.129, 6.793, 1.148, and 1.089, respectively. Subgroup analysis of 165 patients who underwent biliary decompression before an event (with OF: 20, without OF: 145) was performed to elucidate the risk factors for organ failure even after successful biliary drainage. Variables significantly associated with OF included ESBL and BUN (OR = 4.123 and 1.177, respectively). We developed a scoring system with regression coefficient of each significant variable. The organ failure score was calculated using the following equation: (1.4 × ESBL) + (0.2 × BUN). This scoring system for predicting OF was highly sensitive (85.0 %) and specific (83.4 %). CONCLUSIONS: Biliary decompression, ESBL, total bilirubin, and BUN are prognostic determinants in patients with bacteremic cholangitis. An organ failure scoring system may allow clinicians to identify groups with poor prognosis even after successful biliary decompression.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Although some studies have shown improvement of precancerous lesions and a decrease of metachronous gastric cancer after eradication of H. pylori, this is still controversial. METHODOLOGY: We identified 74 patients with early gastric cancer and who had their H. pylori eradicated after undergoing endoscopic resection between September, 2003 and September, 2010. The endoscopic biopsy specimens, campylobacter-like organism test and urea breath test were reviewed. Relapse of gastric cancer was assessed from medical records. RESULTS: Among the 74 patients, 61 (82.4%) were successfully eradicated. The mean duration of follow-up was 27.2±18.7 months. H. pylori colonization, neutrophil infiltration, mononuclear cell infiltration and intestinal metaplasia decreased after eradication (all p<0.05). For all the patients, metachronous gastric cancer showed a decrease in the eradicated group, but this did not reach statistical significance (odds ratio: 0.36, 95% CI: 0.08-1.70, p=0.189). However, when restricted to those who were followed-up for more than 18 months, metachronous gastric cancer was significantly decreased in the eradicated group (odds ratio: 0.108, 95% CI: 0.016-0.726, p=0.035). CONCLUSIONS: Eradication of H. pylori decreased precancerous lesions, and when following-up for more than 18 months, eradication also reduced metachronous gastric cancer.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Obesity is one of the main risk factors for gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA) in the West. Also, recent studies have suggested that GCA is distinct from distal stomach tumor, with differing risk factors, tumor characteristics, and biological behavior. The objective of our research was to evaluate the relationship between obesity and GCA compared to non-cardia adenocarcinoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 298 patients who were diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma and underwent surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital were evaluated. Ninety-one cases were GCA, and 207 cases were non-cardiac adenocarcinoma. Obesity was estimated by body mass index (BMI, kg/m(2)). The degree of obesity was determined by using BMI <18.5, 18.5-23.9, 24-27.9, and ≥ 28 (kg/m(2)) as the cut-off points for underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obese, respectively. Association with obesity was estimated by odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: Obesity was more prevalent in patients with GCA at the time of diagnosis for gastric cancer. Among obese persons with a BMI of 28 kg/m(2) or higher, the OR was 3.937 (95% CI, 1.492-10.389; p = 0.006) for GCA compared to non-cardia adenocarcinoma. For overweight individuals, the OR was 2.194 (95% CI, 1.118-4.305; p = 0.022). Multivariate analysis of age, Helicobacter pylori infection, smoking, stage, and BMI with logistic regression was performed. BMI was an independent risk factor for GCA (OR, 1.123; 95% CI, 1.037-1.217; p = 0.004). CONCLUSION: Obesity was more prevalent in patients with GCA compared to that in patients with gastric non-cardia adenocarcinoma. Also, BMI was an independent risk factor for GCA.

Cnidium japonicum is a biennial halophyte found in the salt marshes and shores of Korea and widely used in traditional Korean medicine as an ingredient. This study investigated and compared the antimelanogenic effect of solventpartitioned fractions of C. japonicum extract (CJEFs) in a B16F10 mouse melanoma cell model, focusing on tyrosinase activity and production. Melanogenesis is the process in which skin pigment melanin is produced through tyrosinase activity. Overproduction of melanin is the primary reason behind several skin disorders such as freckles, spots, and hyperpigmentation. The antimelanogenic capacity of CJEFs was initially screened by their tyrosinase inhibitory effects, prevention of dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) oxidation, and suppression of melanin production. The inhibition of tyrosinase activity and DOPA oxidation by CJEFs was suggested to be related to the downregulation of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor, tyrosinase, tyrosinase-related protein-1, and tyrosinase-related protein-2, which was confirmed using mRNA and protein expression levels. Moreover, the glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta- and cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element-binding protein-related signaling pathways were inhibited by treatment with CJEFs, indicating their action mechanism. All the tested CJEFs exerted similar effects on tyrosinase activity and production. However, among those, 85% aq. MeOH was the most active fraction to suppress the signaling pathway that produces tyrosinase. These results suggest that especially the MeOH fraction of C. japonicum extract serves as a potential source of bioactive substances, with effective antimelanogenesis properties.

OBJECTIVES: The role of the Helicobacter pylori, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and antiplatelet agents in the risk of peptic ulcer bleeding has not yet been established. This study was performed to identify the risk factors for peptic ulcer bleeding compared with non-bleeding peptic ulcer disease (PUD). MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 475 patients, 265 with bleeding PUD and 210 with non-bleeding PUD were consecutively recruited. H. pylori status was determined by histology, rapid urease test, and culture. Exposure to NSAIDs, aspirin, and antiplatelet agents (clopidogrel and ticlopidine) within 4 weeks was obtained. RESULTS: Compared with non-bleeding PUD, bleeding PUD had a higher proportion of male gender and current smoking, alcohol drinking, history of aspirin/antiplatelet use, and history of PUD. Whereas the proportion of H. pylori infection and history of H. pylori eradication in bleeding PUD were significantly lower than that in non-bleeding PUD. In multivariate analysis, male gender (OR 1.78, 95% CI 1.10-2.89), drinking alcohol (OR 2.08, 95% CI 1.29-3.14), aspirin/antiplatelet use (OR 2.35, 95% CI 1.45-3.82), and history of PUD (OR 2.46, 95% CI 1.36-4.46) remained independent risk factors for bleeding PUD. When H. pylori status and aspirin/antiplatelet agent use were combined, highest risk of bleeding peptic ulcers was found among H. pylori-negative patients with a history of aspirin/antiplatelet agent use (OR 3.03 95% CI 1.48-6.18) compared with H. pylori-positive patients with no history of aspirin/antiplatelet agent use. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with H. pylori-negative peptic ulcers who continuously took aspirin or antiplatelet agents had the highest peptic ulcer bleeding risk.

Natural bioactive substances are promising lead compounds with beneficial effects on various health problems including osteoporosis. In this context, the goal of this study was to investigate the effect of myricetin 3-O-ß-D-galactopyranoside (M3G), a glycoside of a known bioactive phytochemical myricetin, on bone formation via osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (hBM-MSCs). The hBM-MSCs were induced to differentiate into osteoblasts and adipocytes in the presence or absence of M3G and the differentiation markers were analyzed. Osteoblastogenesis-induced cells treated with M3G exhibited stimulated differentiation markers: cell proliferation, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, and extracellular mineralization. In terms of intracellular signaling behind the stimulatory effect of M3G, the expression of RUNX2 and osteopontin transcription factors were upregulated. It has been shown that M3G treatment increased the activation of Wnt and BMP as a suggested mechanism of action for its effect. On the other hand, M3G treatment during adipogenesis-inducement of hBM-MSCs hindered the adipogenic differentiation shown as decreased lipid accumulation and expression of PPARγ, SREBP1c, and C/EBPα, adipogenic transcription factors. In conclusion, M3G treatment stimulated osteoblast differentiation and inhibited adipocyte differentiation in induced hBM-MSCs. Osteoblast formation was stimulated via Wnt/BMP and adipogenesis was inhibited via the PPARγ pathway. This study provided necessary data for further studies to utilize the therapeutic potential of M3G against osteoporosis via regulation of bone marrow stromal cell differentiation.
