RESUMO
Rampant partisanship in the United States may be the largest obstacle to the reduced social mobility most experts see as critical to limiting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyzing a total of just over 1.1 million responses collected daily between 4 April and 10 September reveals not only that partisanship is more important than public health concerns for explaining individuals' willingness to stay at home and reduce social mobility but also that the effect of partisanship has grown over time-especially among Republicans. All else equal, the relative importance of partisanship for the increasing (un)willingness of Republicans to stay at home highlights the challenge that politics poses for public health.

Aziridinylbenzoquinone (AZQ), Acridinyl Anisidide (m-AMSA), Tenipsode Thenvlidene-Lignan-(VM-26), and PCNU are relatively new synthetic drugs believed to have a wide spectrum of antitumor activity. Preparation of these drugs for administration requires reconstitution with an organic solvent which decomposes the thermoplastic components of I.V. infusion devices and chemo-dispensing pins. The products of this decomposition may lead to cellular damage and complicate the infusion of these agents.

Clarification of municipal wastewater was shown to be improved significantly by the addition of cultured bdelloid rotifers. The rate and degree of suspended particle removal were correlated with rotifer number. The size range of unsettled particles suspended in wastewater was determined and found to overlap with the size range of particles consumed by rotifers. Rotifers were shown to have two distinct effects on suspended particles: consumption of biomass due to feeding activity; and improved settling, probably due to enhanced aggregation. These experiments demonstrate the potential for the use of bdelloid rotifers in an enhanced wastewater treatment process, with reduced biomass production and improved effluent clarity.

Nearly six years after the National Practitioner Data Bank was authorized by Congress in the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986, and more than a year after its actual creation, the device is still only partially operational. What is more, the success of even those limited efforts is being questioned, and the timetable for future developments remains to be firmed up. Also, the costs are much higher than estimated.
