With the ongoing development of image technology, the deployment of various intelligent applications on embedded devices has attracted increased attention in the industry. One such application is automatic image captioning for infrared images, which involves converting images into text. This practical task is widely used in night security, as well as for understanding night scenes and other scenarios. However, due to the differences in image features and the complexity of semantic information, generating captions for infrared images remains a challenging task. From the perspective of deployment and application, to improve the correlation between descriptions and objects, we introduced the YOLOv6 and LSTM as encoder-decoder structure and proposed infrared image caption based on object-oriented attention. Firstly, to improve the domain adaptability of the detector, we optimized the pseudo-label learning process. Secondly, we proposed the object-oriented attention method to address the alignment problem between complex semantic information and embedded words. This method helps select the most crucial features of the object region and guides the caption model in generating words that are more relevant to the object. Our methods have shown good performance on the infrared image and can produce words explicitly associated with the object regions located by the detector. The robustness and effectiveness of the proposed methods were demonstrated through evaluation on various datasets, along with other state-of-the-art methods. Our approach achieved BLUE-4 scores of 31.6 and 41.2 on KAIST and Infrared City and Town datasets, respectively. Our approach provides a feasible solution for the deployment of embedded devices in industrial applications.

The Tembusu virus (TMUV) PS strain, derived by several passages and plaque purifications in BHK-21 cells, displays markedly lower virulence in Pekin ducklings relative to a natural isolate of TMUV, but the potential virulence determinants and the in vivo mechanisms for substantial virulence attenuation of the passage variant remain unknown. Here, we constructed a series of chimeric and mutant viruses and assessed their virulence using a 2-day-old Pekin duckling model. We showed that residue 304 in the envelope (E) protein is the molecular determinant of TMUV virulence. Further investigations with mutant and parental viruses demonstrated that acquisition of positive charges at E protein residue 304 plays a critical role in substantial attenuation of neurovirulence and neuroinvasiveness, which is linked to enhanced binding affinity for glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). In Pekin ducklings infected by subcutaneous inoculation, an Arg at residue 304 in the E protein was shown to contribute to more rapid virus clearance from the circulation, markedly reduced viremia, and significantly decreased viral growth in the extraneural tissues and the central nervous system, relative to a Met at the corresponding residue. These findings suggest that the in vivo mechanism of virulence attenuation of the TMUV passage variant closely resembles that proposed previously for GAG-binding variants of other flaviviruses. Overall, our study provides insight into the molecular basis of TMUV virulence and the in vivo consequences of acquisition of a GAG-binding determinant at residue 304 in the E protein of TMUV.IMPORTANCE TMUV-related disease emerged in 2010 and has a significant economic impact on the duck industry. Although the disease was originally recognized to affect adult ducks, increasing evidence has shown that TMUV also causes severe disease of young ducklings. It is, therefore, essential to investigate the pathogenesis of TMUV infection in a young duckling model. The significance of our studies is in identifying E protein residue Arg304 as the molecular determinant for TMUV virulence and in clarifying the crucial role of positive charges at E protein residue 304 in virulence attenuation of a TMUV passage variant. These data will greatly enhance our understanding of the pathogenesis of TMUV infection in ducklings and have implications for development of a safe and efficient vaccine.

BACKGROUND: Tembusu virus (TMUV) usually affects adult ducks, causing a severe drop of egg production. It has also been shown to be pathogenic in commercial Pekin ducklings below 7 weeks of age. Here, we report a TMUV-caused neurological disease in young egg-type ducklings and the pathogenicity of the egg-type duck-origin TMUV isolates in meat-type Pekin ducklings. RESULTS: The disease occurred in 25 to 40-day-old Jinding ducklings in China, and was characterized by paralysis. Gross lesions were lacking and microscopic lesions appeared chiefly in brain and spleen. Inoculation in embryonated duck eggs resulted in isolation of TMUV Y and GL. The clinical signs and microscopic lesions observed in the spontaneously infected egg-type ducks were repeated in Pekin ducklings by experimental infection. Notably, both Y and GL strains caused 100% mortality in the case of 2-day-old inoculation by intracerebral route. High mortalities (80 and 70%) also occurred following infection of the Y virus at 2 days of age by intramuscular route and at 9 days of age by intracerebral route. CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate that the egg-type duck-origin TMUVs exhibit high pathogenicity in Pekin ducklings, and that the severity of the disease in ducklings is dependent on the infection route and the age of birds at the time of infection. The availability of the highly pathogenic TMUV strains provides a useful material with which to begin investigations into the molecular basis of TMUV pathogenicity in ducks.

BACKGROUND Globally, gastric cancer (GC) is the third most common source of cancer-associated mortality. The aim of this study was to identify key genes and circular RNAs (circRNAs) in GC diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy and to further explore the potential molecular mechanisms of GC. MATERIAL AND METHODS Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and circRNAs (DE circRNAs) between GC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were identified from 3 mRNA and 3 circRNA expression profiles. Functional analyses were performed, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks were constructed. The signiï¬cant modules and key genes in the PPI networks were identified. Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to evaluate the prognostic value of these key genes. Potential miRNA-binding sites of the DE circRNAs and target genes of these miRNAs were predicted and used to construct DE circRNA-miRNA-mRNA networks. RESULTS A total of 196 upregulated and 311 downregulated genes were identified in GC. The results of functional analysis showed that these DEGs were significantly enriched in a variety of functions and pathways, including extracellular matrix-related pathways. Ten hub genes (COL1A1, COL3A1, COL1A2, COL5A2, FN1, THBS1, COL5A1, SPARC, COL18A1, and COL11A1) were identified via PPI network analysis. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that 7 of these were associated with a poor overall survival in GC patients. Furthermore, we identified 2 DE circRNAs, hsa_circ_0000332 and hsa_circ_0021087. To reveal the potential molecular mechanisms of circRNAs in GC, DE circRNA-microRNA-mRNA networks were constructed. CONCLUSIONS Key candidate genes and circRNAs were identified, and novel PPI and circRNA-microRNA-mRNA networks in GC were constructed. These may provide useful information for the exploration of potential biomarkers and targets for the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of GC.

BACKGROUND: An increasing number of extremely preterm (EP) infants have survived worldwide. However, few data have been reported from China. This study was designed to investigate the short-term outcomes of EP infants at discharge in Guangdong province. METHODS: A total of 2051 EP infants discharged from 26 neonatal intensive care units during 2008-2017 were enrolled. The data from 2008 to 2012 were collected retrospectively, and from 2013 to 2017 were collected prospectively. Their hospitalization records were reviewed. RESULTS: During 2008-2017, the mean gestational age (GA) was 26.68 ± 1.00 weeks and the mean birth weight (BW) was 935 ± 179 g. The overall survival rate at discharge was 52.5%. There were 321 infants (15.7%) died despite active treatment, and 654 infants (31.9%) died after medical care withdrawal. The survival rates increased with advancing GA and BW (p < 0.001). The annual survival rate improved from 36.2% in 2008 to 59.3% in 2017 (p < 0.001). EP infants discharged from hospitals in Guangzhou and Shenzhen cities had a higher survival rate than in others (p < 0.001). The survival rate of EP infants discharged from general hospitals was lower than in specialist hospitals (p < 0.001). The major complications were neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, 88.0% (1804 of 2051), bronchopulmonary dysplasia, 32.3% (374 of 1158), retinopathy of prematurity (any grade), 45.1% (504 of 1117), necrotizing enterocolitis (any stage), 10.1% (160 of 1588), intraventricular hemorrhages (any grade), 37.4% (535 of 1431), and blood culture-positive nosocomial sepsis, 15.7% (250 of 1588). The multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that improved survival of EP infants was associated with discharged from specialist hospitals, hospitals located in high-level economic development region, increasing gestational age, increasing birth weight, antenatal steroids use and a history of premature rupture of membranes. However, twins or multiple births, Apgar ≤7 at 5 min, cervical incompetence, and decision to withdraw care were associated with decreased survival. CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed the short-term outcomes of EP infants at discharge in China. The overall survival rate was lower than the developed countries, and medical care withdrawal was a serious problem. Nonetheless, improvements in care and outcomes have been made annually.

In the present study, three different live oral vaccines using the EBY100/pCTCON-2 yeast surface display system with different Eimeria tenella microneme-1 (EtMic1) protein domain recombination were constructed and their protective efficacies against homologous challenge were compared by evaluating the body weight gains, relative growth rate, cecal lesion scores, oocyst output, oocyst decrease ratio, anti-coccidial index, the serum antibody levels and the proliferation ability of blood lymphocytes. The results indicated that all the three constructed live oral vaccines expressing different EtMic1 polypeptides provided excellent protection against homologous challenge by significantly increasing weight gains, reducing cecal lesions, achieving a high ACI, elevating specific antibody response and splenocyte proliferation ability compared with controls. The yeasts displaying the EtMic1 polypeptide-III (expressed TSP-2, TSP-3 and TSP-4 domains) provided better protection against challenge than the yeasts displaying either the EtMic1 polypeptide-I (expressed I-domain, TSP-1 and TSP-2) or polypeptide-II (expressed I-domain and all the five TSP domains) did. Considering the exclusion of antibiotic resistant gene in the system, the strain EBY100 of Saccharomyces cerevisiae may be a better choice for coccidian antigen delivery.

OBJECTIVE: To study the value of amino-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in predicting symptomatic patent ductus arteriosus (sPDA) in preterm infants. METHODS: Preterm infants born at a gestational age (GA) of ≤ 32 weeks and diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) by echocardiography within 48 hours after birth between June 2014 and April 2015 were selected as subjects. Their clinical manifestations were observed, and serum NT-proBNP levels were measured and echocardiography was performed at 3 and 5 days after birth. The infants were divided into sPDA group and asymptomatic PDA (asPDA) group based on their clinical manifestations and the results of echocardiography. The correlations between serum NT-proBNP level and echocardiographic indices were analyzed. Serum NT-proBNP levels were compared between the two groups. The receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve was applied to determine the sensitivity and specificity of serum NT-proBNP in the prediction of sPDA. RESULTS: A total of 69 preterm infants were enrolled in this study, with 13 infants in the sPDA group and 56 infants in the asPDA group. Serum NT-proBNP level was positively correlated with the diameter of the arterial duct (r=0.856; P<0.05)and the ratio of left atrial diameter to aortic root diameter (LA/AO) (r=0.713; P<0.05). At 3 and 5 days after birth, the serum NT-proBNP levels in the sPDA group were significantly higher than those in the asPDA group (P<0.05). The area under the ROC curve (AUC) for the prediction of sPDA by NT-proBNP levels at 3 days after birth was 0.949 (95% CI: 0.892-1.000; P<0.001), with a cut-off value of 27 035 pg/mL (sensitivity: 92.3%; specificity: 94.6%); the AUC for the prediction of sPDA by NT-proBNP levels at 5 days after birth was 0.924 (95% CI: 0.848-1.000; P<0.001), with a cut-off value of 6 411 pg/mL (sensitivity: 92.3%; specificity: 92.9%). CONCLUSIONS: NT-proBNP may be a quantitative index for shunt volume. The measurement of serum NT-proBNP levels on 3 and 5 days after birth may be useful to predict sPDA in preterm infants.

A novel strain of duck picornavirus was isolated from duck tissue in Taian, Shandong Province, in 2017 in our laboratory. The virus was amplified in specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chicken embryos, purified and then analyzed by whole genome sequencing, which revealed a new duck-derived small RNA virus that was designated as Duck/FC22/China/2017 (FC22, GenBank accession no. MN102111) based on its genome structure and phylogenetic relationship. An in-depth study revealed that the virus grew well on the Leghorn male hepatoma (LMH) cell line. After propagation of the virus, SPF ducks were inoculated for pathogenicity tests, and their mental state, growth and development were observed after inoculation; the ducks were dissected to observe the organs and histopathological changes. A TaqMan fluorescence quantitative PCR method was utilized to detect the proliferation and shedding patterns of the virus within the ducks, while the SYBR Green I fluorescence quantitative PCR method was used to assess cytokine expression levels in the organs. The results showed that following inoculation with the FC22 strain, the mental status of the SPF ducks remained unchanged. Mild oedema was observed in some tissue organs during dissection; however, no pathological changes, such as congestion or degeneration, were noted. Histopathological analysis revealed cellular necrosis in organs, including the heart, liver, and bursa of Fabricius, as well as a reduced volume and deep staining of certain neurons in the cerebrum. Following infection, the virus titres in various organs and in cloacal swabs of the SPF ducks peaked on the first day before gradually decreasing daily. By the 10th d, the virus titres in all organs had decreased to less than 101 copies/µL. Additionally, notable alterations were observed in the expression levels of the cytokines IFNα, IL6, IL10, and TNFα. This indicates that the FC22 strain does not cause significant disease in ducks. This report presents the initial study on a recently discovered picornavirus, offering a thorough and methodical examination of its pathogenic characteristics and provides a reference for the clinical evaluation and scientific strategies for the prevention and treatment of this particular picornavirus.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the possible relationship between retinal vascular abnormalities and amblyopia by analyzing vascular structures of fundus images. Methods: In this observational study, retinal fundus images were collected from 36 patients with unilateral amblyopia, 33 patients with bilateral amblyopia, and 36 healthy control volunteers. We developed a customized training algorithm based on U-Net to digitalize the vasculature in the fundus images to quantify vascular density (area and fractal dimension), skeleton length, and number of bifurcation points. For statistical comparisons, this study divided participants into two groups. The amblyopic eyes and the fellow eyes of patients with unilateral amblyopia formed the paired group, while bilateral amblyopic patients and healthy controls formed the independent group. Results: In the paired group, the vascular area (P = 0.007), vascular fractal dimension (P = 0.007), and vascular skeleton length (P = 0.002) of the amblyopic eyes were significantly smaller than those of the fellow eyes. In the independent group, significant decreases in the vascular fractal dimension (P = 0.006) and skeleton length (P = 0.048) were observed in bilateral amblyopia compared to control. The vascular area was also significantly correlated with best-corrected visual acuity in amblyopic eyes. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that retinal vascular density and skeleton length in amblyopic eyes were significantly smaller compared to control, indicating an association between the changes in retinal vascular features and the state of amblyopia. Translational Relevance: Our algorithm presents amblyopic retinal vascular changes that are more biologically interpretable for both clinicians and researchers.

The full-length cDNA sequence of the MLO gene was cloned via SMART-RACE-PCR from muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.), and was designated as CmMLO2 (GenBank Accession No. FJ713542). The gene is 1,710 bp long and encodes a 570-amino acid peptide with a seven-transmembrane domain topology, and is a typical transmembrane protein. Localization analysis in onion epidermal cells showed that CmMLO2-GFP is localized in the plasma membrane. The expression of CmMLO2 gene was analyzed in melon leaf infected with powdery mildew using a quantitative RT-PCR and it was found that CmMLO2 was mainly expressed in melon leaves in a no-tissue-specific pattern. Moreover, CmMLO2 may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of powdery mildew.

With the increase in extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants, their outcome attracted worldwide attention. However, in China, the related studies are rare. The hospitalized records of ELBW infants discharged from twenty-six neonatal intensive care units in Guangdong Province of China during 2008-2017 were analyzed. A total of 2575 ELBW infants were enrolled and the overall survival rate was 55.11%. From 2008 to 2017, the number of ELBW infants increased rapidly from 91 to 466, and the survival rate improved steadily from 41.76% to 62.02%. Increased survival is closely related to birth weight (BW), regional economic development, and specialized hospital. The incidence of complications was neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (85.2%), oxygen dependency at 28 days (63.7%), retinopathy of prematurity (39.3%), intraventricular hemorrhage (29.4%), necrotizing enterocolitis (12.0%), and periventricular leukomalacia (8.0%). Among the 1156 nonsurvivors, 90.0% of infants died during the neonatal period (≤ 28 days). A total of 768 ELBW infants died after treatment withdrawal, for reasons of economic and/or poor outcome. The number of ELBW infants is increasing in Guangdong Province of China, and the overall survival rate is improving steadily.

Previous studies resulted in the isolation of a low-virulence plaque-purified variant from the third passage (P3) in BHK-21 cells of a Tembusu virus (TMUV) isolate, suggesting the presence of viral quasispecies in the P3 culture. To confirm this notion, the fourth passage virus (P4) was prepared by infecting BHK-21 cells with P3 for isolation of more variants. We isolated 10 plaque-purified viruses. Comparative genome sequence analysis identified six of the 10 viruses as genetically different variants, which harbored a total of eight amino acid differences in the envelope, NS1, NS3, and NS5 proteins. When tested in a 2-day-old Pekin duck model, P4 caused 80 % mortality, belonging to a high-virulence TMUV strain. Out of the six genetically different variants, two presented high-virulence, one exhibited moderate-virulence, and three displayed low-virulence, causing 60 %-70 %, 40 %, and 10 % mortalities, respectively. These results demonstrate that P4 contains at least three groups of variants with distinct virulence phenotypes. Analysis of links between the eight residues and virulence of the six variants identified NS1 protein residue 183 and NS5 protein residues 275 and/or 287 as novel determinants of TMUV virulence. The analysis also provided a new clue for future studies on the molecular basis of TMUV virulence in terms of genetic interaction of different proteins. Overall, our study provides direct evidence to suggest that TMUV exists in in vitro culture of a virulent isolate as a quasispecies, which may enhance our understanding of molecular mechanism of TMUV virulence.

Tembusu virus (TMUV) is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that most commonly affects adult breeder and layer ducks. However, a TMUV-caused neurological disease has also been found in ducklings below 7 weeks of age, highlighting the need to develop a safe vaccine for young ducklings. In this study, a plaque-purified PS TMUV strain was attenuated by serial passage in BHK-21 cells. Using 1-day-old Pekin ducklings as a model, the virus was confirmed to be attenuated sufficiently after 180 passages, whereas the neutralizing antibody response elicited by the 180th passage virus (PS180) was substantially impaired compared with PS. The findings suggest that sufficient attenuation results in loss of immunogenicity in the development of the live-attenuated TMUV vaccine. Comparative sequence analysis revealed that PS180 acquired one mutation (V41M) in prM and four mutations (T70A, Y176H, K313R, and F408L) in the envelope (E) protein. To identify the amino acid substitution(s) associated with loss of immunogenicity of PS180, we rescued parental viruses, rPS and rPS180, and produced mutant viruses, rPS180-M41V, rPS180-A70T, rPS180-H176Y, rPS180-R313K, rPS180-L408F, and rPS180-M5, which contained residue 41V in prM, residues 70T, 176Y, 313K, and 408F in E, and combination of the five residues, respectively, of PS in the backbone of the rPS180 genome. The neutralizing antibody response elicited by rPS180-L408F and rPS180-M5 was significantly higher than those by other mutant viruses and comparable to that by rPS. Furthermore, we produced mutant virus rPS-F408L, which contained residue 408L of PS180 in the backbone of the rPS genome. The F408L mutation conferred significantly decreased neutralizing antibody response to rPS-F408L, which was comparable to that elicited by rPS180. Based on homologous modeling, residue 408 was predicted to be located within the first helical domain of the stem region of the E protein (EH1). Together, these data demonstrate that a single mutation within the EH1 domain exerts a dramatical impact on the TMUV neutralizing antibody response. The present work may enhance our understanding of molecular basis of the TMUV neutralizing antibody response, and provides an important step for the development of a safe and efficient live-attenuated TMUV vaccine.

Tembusu virus (TMUV) infection most commonly affects breeder and layer ducks during laying period, and can also affect young ducks below 7 weeks of age. Here, we report our investigation of a TMUV-caused fatal disease of Jingding ducklings (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) in Northeast China. The disease resulted in mortalities of up to 40 % in 2 to 4-week-old ducks, up to 25 % in 5 to 6-week-old ducks, and less than 10 % in 7 to 8-week-old ducks. Using a TMUV-specific reverse transcription-PCR assay, all 44 ducks collected from 10 different farms were found positive for TMUV. Phylogenetic analysis of the E nucleotide sequence revealed that five of the six TMUV strains detected from three young ducks and three laying ducks were grouped within cluster 2.1. Inoculation of the liver sample of a 40-day-old sick duck in BHK-21 cells resulted in isolation of cluster 2.1 TMUV strain H. In experimental infections performed using 3-week-old Pekin ducklings (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) (n = 30; 10 birds/group), high mortality (60 %) was caused by strain H, in sharp contrast with a very low mortality (10 %) caused by strain Y which was isolated during outbreaks of the TMUV-related disease of young Jinding ducks in 2014 in the same region. These findings clearly demonstrated that the cluster 2.1 TMUV strain H is more pathogenic for 3-week-old ducklings as compared to the cluster 2.2 TMUV strain Y. The present study may enhance our understanding of pathogenicity of TMUV in young ducks, and will stimulate further studies on the pathogenesis of TMUV infection.

Domain III of the envelope protein (EDIII) is the major target of flavivirus neutralizing antibody. To date, little is known regarding antibody-mediated neutralization of Tembusu virus (TMUV), a novel flavivirus emerging in duck in 2010. Here, a novel monoclonal antibody (MAb), designated 12F11, was prepared by immunization of mice with recombinant EDIII (rEDIII) protein. Using virus neutralization test, 12F11 in undiluted ascites neutralized the TMUV infectivity to induce the development of cytopathic effects in BHK-21 cells, indicating that 12F11 exhibits a neutralizing activity. The neutralizing activity of 12F11 was confirmed by plaque reduction neutralization test, in which 12F11 reduced significantly the number of plaques produced by TMUV in BHK-21 cells. Western blot analyses of a series of truncated rEDIII proteins showed that the epitope recognized by 12F11 includes amino acids between residues 8 and 77 of EDIII protein. Function analysis demonstrated that 12F11 neutralizes TMUV infection at virus adsorption and at a step after adsorption to a certain extent. The present study provides an important step towards elucidating antibody-mediated neutralization of TMUV.

The microneme adhesive repeats (MAR) of Eimeria tenella microneme protein 3 (EtMIC3) are associated with binding to and invasion of host cells. Adhesion and invasion-related proteins or domains are often strongly immunogenic, immune responses mounted against these factors that play a key role in blocking invasion. In the present study, an oral live vaccine consisting of attenuated Salmonella typhimurium X4550 carrying two MAR domains fragment (St-X4550-MAR) was constructed and its protective efficacies were evaluated. The results showed that St-X4550-MAR was more immunogenic and conferred a higher degree of protection than recombinant MAR polypeptide as reflected by increased body weight, decreased oocyst shedding and lesion scores, increased serum IgG and cecal sIgA antibody production, and increasing levels of interferon-γ and interleukin-10. Thus, MAR domains are highly immunogenic and St-X4550-MAR had moderate activity against E. tenella infection by stimulating humoral, mucosal and cellular immunity. Chickens immunized with our constructed live vaccine provided considerable protections as early as at 10 d post-immunization (ACI: 155.17), and maintained higher protection levels at 20 d post-immunization (ACI: 173.66), and at 30 d post-immunization (ACI: 162.4). While the protective efficacy of chickens immunized with the recombinant MAR peptides showed a decreased trend as the post immunization time prolonging. Thus, using live-attenuated S. typhimurium X4550 as a vaccine expression and delivery system can significantly improve the protective efficacy and duration of protective immunity of MAR of EtMIC3.

Among the causative agents of duck viral hepatitis, duck hepatitis A virus genotype 1 (DHAV-1) is the most common virus reported in most outbreaks worldwide. How to propagate DHAV-1 in cell cultures efficiently remains a problem to be explored. Here, we aimed to test the effect of serum type on DHAV-1 replication in duck embryo fibroblast (DEF) cells. Comparative studies involved virus culture and passage, observation of cytopathic effect (CPE), virus quantification, and plaque formation assay. From the results of these investigations, we conclude that use of chicken serum (CS) in maintenance medium allows DHAV-1 to establish productive, cytocidal infection in DEF cells, whereas FCS exerts inhibitory effects on DHAV-1 replication, CPE development, and plaque formation. By using a neutralization test, we found that the direct action of FCS on virions is likely to play a key role in inhibiting DHAV-1 replication in DEF cells. Mechanism analyses revealed that FCS inhibits DHAV-1 replication at virus adsorption and reduces extracellular virus yields. The present work may shed light on a new perspective for antiviral agent development, and have provided a virus-host cell system for further studies on molecular mechanism involved DHAV-1 replication and pathogenesis.

BACKGROUND: While the maternal risk factors on congenital heart defects (CHDs) have often been assessed, paternal contribution to CHDs, especially the joint effects of paternal risk factors on CHDs remain unknown. This study examined the major impacts of paternal alcohol consumption and its interaction (on multiplicative and additive scales) with paternal socioeconomic status (SES) and environmental exposures on CHDs in China. METHODS: A population-based case-control study involving 4,726 singleton CHDs cases and 4,726 controls (without any malformation and matched on hospital, gender, and gestational age) was conducted in Guangdong, China, 2004-2014. Information on parental demographics, behavioral patterns, disease/medication, and environmental exposures (3 months before pregnancy) was collected through face-to-face interviews. Conditional logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) while controlling for all parental factors. RESULTS: Paternal alcohol consumption was associated with an increased OR of CHDs (adjusted OR = 2.87, 95% CI: 2.25-3.65). Additionally, paternal smoking, industry occupation, organic solvent contact, virus infection and antibiotic use, living in rural areas, low household income, and migrant status were significantly associated with CHDs (ORs ranged: 1.42-4.44). Significant additive or multiplicative interactions were observed between paternal alcohol consumption and paternal smoking, industrial occupation, and low income on any CHDs (interaction contrast ratio [ICR] = 4.72, 95% CI: 0.96-8.47] and septal defects (ICRs ranged from 2.04 to 2.79, p < .05). CONCLUSIONS: Paternal alcohol consumption and multiple paternal factors were significantly associated with CHDs in China. Paternal smoking and low SES factors modified paternal alcohol consumption-CHDs relationships. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Open source software has been widely used in various industries due to its openness and flexibility, but it also brings potential security problems. Therefore, security analysis is required before using open source software. The current mainstream open source software vulnerability analysis technology is based on source code, and there are problems such as false positives, false negatives and restatements. In order to solve the problems, based on the further study of behavior feature extraction and vulnerability detection technology, a method of using dynamic behavior features to detect open source software vulnerabilities is proposed. Firstly, the relationship between open source software vulnerability and API call sequence is studied. Then, the behavioral risk vulnerability database of open source software is proposed as a support for vulnerability detection. In addition, the CNN-IndRNN classification model is constructed by improving the Independently Recurrent Neural Net-work (IndRNN) algorithm and applies to open source software security vulnerability detection. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed open source software security vulnerability detection method based on dynamic behavior features.
