BACKGROUND: The coexistence of frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus in the older population heightens the risk of adverse events. However, research on functional and wellness factors associated with frailty in this population is limited. PURPOSE: To investigate the associations of physical performance, functional dependency, physical activity, nutritional status, sleep, self-perceived health and depression with frailty in community-dwelling older adults with coexisting frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus. DESIGN: Cross-sectional. METHODS: The study included 123 community-dwelling older adults (73.7 ± 6.0 years) with pre-frailty/frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Physical performance (Short Physical Performance Battery), functional dependency (Barthel Index and Lawton & Brody), physical activity and inactivity (GeneActiv wrist-worn accelerometer), malnutrition risk (Mini Nutritional Assessment), sleep (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), self-perceived health (EuroQoL 5-Dimension 3-Level) and depression (Yesavage 15-item-Geriatric-Depression-Scale) were evaluated through personal interviews. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed to categorize the variables into components, and logistic regressions were used to propose the best-fitted model for each component. RESULTS: The PCA identified four components: (i) physical performance, with gait speed and leg mean velocity as the main variables associated with frailty; (ii) balance, showing significant associations with monopodal balance; (iii) daily activities, with moderate to vigorous physical activity and the Lawton and Brody score as the main variables associated with frailty within this component; and (iv) wellness factors, with nutritional status, self-perceived health and depression score as the primary variables associated with frailty. CONCLUSIONS: This research underscores the significance of physical function and daily activities as protective factors against frailty in community-dwelling older adults with coexisting frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The health dimension contributes both protective and risk factors, emphasizing the need for comprehensive assessments in managing frailty in this population. B-cell content in the tumour microenvironment (TME) of classic Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is known to be associated with prognosis. Here we demonstrate that whole slide image analysis using routinely available slides predicts outcomes in patients treated with ABVD in a prospective trial with a high B-cell content being associated with a favourable prognosis. B cells in the TME did not correlate with B cells in peripheral blood. In the TME maturation, stages of B cells (naive and memory) were consistent. However, we detected down-regulation of CD73 in HL with low B cells suggestive of an antibody-independent function of B cells in the TME of HL.

Most cancers become more dangerous by the outgrowth of malignant subclones with additional DNA mutations that favor proliferation or survival. Using chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a disease that exemplifies this process and is a model for neoplasms in general, we created transgenic mice overexpressing the enzyme activation-induced deaminase (AID), which has a normal function of inducing DNA mutations in B lymphocytes. AID not only allows normal B lymphocytes to develop more effective immunoglobulin-mediated immunity, but is also able to mutate nonimmunoglobulin genes, predisposing to cancer. In CLL, AID expression correlates with poor prognosis, suggesting a role for this enzyme in disease progression. Nevertheless, direct experimental evidence identifying the specific genes that are mutated by AID and indicating that those genes are associated with disease progression is not available. To address this point, we overexpressed Aicda in a murine model of CLL (Eµ-TCL1). Analyses of TCL1/AID mice demonstrate a role for AID in disease kinetics, CLL cell proliferation, and the development of cancer-related target mutations with canonical AID signatures in nonimmunoglobulin genes. Notably, our mouse models can accumulate mutations in the same genes that are mutated in human cancers. Moreover, some of these mutations occur at homologous positions, leading to identical or chemically similar amino acid substitutions as in human CLL and lymphoma. Together, these findings support a direct link between aberrant AID activity and CLL driver mutations that are then selected for their oncogenic effects, whereby AID promotes aggressiveness in CLL and other B-cell neoplasms.

Paclitaxel (PTX) is a frequently used anticancer drug that causes peripheral neuropathy. Transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1), a plasma membrane calcium channel, has been associated with PTX toxicity and with other chemotherapy agents such as oxaliplatin and vincristine. However, the effect of PTX on the functional expression and calcium currents of TRPA1 has not been determined. The present study shows the effect of PTX on TRPA1 activity in a neuronal cell line (SH-SY5Y). The effect of PTX on the expression of TRPA1 was assessed through quantitative PCR and Western blot analyses to determine the relative mRNA and protein expression levels. To assess the effect on calcium flux and currents, cells were exposed to PTX; simultaneously, a specific agonist and antagonist of TRPA1 were added to evaluate the differential response in exposed versus control cells. To assess the effect of PKA, PKC and PI3K on PTX-induced TRPA1 increased activity, selective inhibitors were added to these previous experiments. PTX increased the mRNA and protein expression of TRPA1 as well as the TRPA1-mediated Ca2+ currents and intracellular Ca2+ concentrations. This effect was dependent on AITC (a selective specific agonist) and was abolished with HC-030031 (a selective specific antagonist). The inhibition of PKA and PKC reduced the effect of PTX on the functional expression of TRPA1, whereas the inhibition of PI3K had no effects. PTX-induced neuropathy involves TRPA1 activity through an increase in functional expression and is regulated by PKA and PKC signaling. These findings support the role of the TRPA1 channel in the mechanisms altered by PTX, which can be involved in the process that lead to chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.

Molecular interactions at interfaces have a significant effect on the wetting properties of surfaces on a macroscale. Sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy, one of a few techniques capable of probing such interactions, generates a surface vibrational spectrum sensitive to molecular structures and has been used to determine the orientation of molecules at interfaces. The purpose of this review is to assess SFG spectroscopy's ability to determine the molecular orientations of interfaces composed of fluorinated organic molecules. We will explore three different types of fluorinated organic material-based interfaces, naming liquid-air, solid-air, and solid-liquid interfaces, to see how SFG spectroscopy can be used to gain valuable and unique information regarding the molecular orientation of each interface. We hope this review will help to broaden the understanding of how to employ SFG spectroscopy to obtain more complex structural information for various fluorinated organic material-based interfaces in the future.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia worldwide, affecting 1% of the population over 60 years old. The incidence and prevalence of AF are increasing globally, representing a relevant health problem, suggesting that more advanced strategies for predicting risk stage are highly needed. miRNAs mediate several processes involved in AF. Our aim was to identify miRNAs with a prognostic value as biomarkers in patients referred for AF ablation and its association with LVA extent, based on low-voltage area (LVA) maps. In this study, we recruited 44 AF patients referred for catheter ablation. We measured the expression of 84 miRNAs in plasma from peripheral blood in 3 different groups based on LVA extent. Expression analysis showed that miR-486-5p was significantly increased in patients with broader LVA (4-fold, p = 0.0002; 5-fold, p = 0.0001). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that miR-486-5p expression could predict atrium LVA (AUC, 0.8958; p = 0.0015). Also, miR-486-5p plasma levels were associated with AF-type (AUC, 0.7137; p = 0.0453). In addition, miR-486-5p expression was positively correlated with LVA percentage, left atrial (LA) area, and LA volume (r = 0.322, p = 0.037; r = 0.372, p = 0.015; r = 0.319, p = 0.045, respectively). These findings suggest that miR-486-5p expression might have prognostic significance in LVA extent in patients with AF.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients due to biomass exposure (BE-COPD) could be more affected than COPD due to tobacco smoke (TE-COPD) by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The aim of this work was to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 in BE-COPD and TE-COPD and if housing conditions, poor attitude, knowledge, and risk perception towards COVID-19, particularly in BE-COPD women, could represent a risk factor for contagion.An 11% prevalence of COVID-19 was found with no significant difference between COPD groups. The BE-COPD group showed poorer socioeconomic status. No significant differences were found to be associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection regarding housing conditions, poor knowledge, attitude, and risk perception towards COVID-19. Living in urban areas and perceiving risk in COVID-19 were significantly associated with increased adherence to sanitary measures and concern of contagion. Around 40% of all patients showed poor risk perception and adherence to sanitary measures towards COVID-19.

The renal collecting ducts (CD) are formed by a fully differentiated epithelium, and their tissue organization and function require the presence of mature cell adhesion structures. In certain circumstances, the cells can undergo de-differentiation by a process called epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), in which the cells lose their epithelial phenotype and acquire the characteristics of the mesenchymal cells, which includes loss of cell-cell adhesion. We have previously shown that in renal papillary CD cells, cell adhesion structures are located in sphingomyelin (SM)-enriched plasma membrane microdomains and the inhibition of SM synthase 1 activity induced CD cells to undergo an EMT process. In the present study, we evaluated the influence of SM metabolism during the EMT of the cells that form the CD of the renal papilla during aging. To this end, primary cultures of renal papillary CD cells from young, middle-, and aged-rats were performed. By combining biochemical and immunofluorescence studies, we found experimental evidence that CD cells undergo an increase in spontaneous and reversible EMT during aging and that at least one of the reasons for this phenomenon is the decrease in SM content due to the combination of decreased SM synthase activity and an increase in SM degradation mediated by neutral sphingomyelinase. Age is a risk factor for many diseases, among which renal fibrosis is included. Our findings highlight the importance of sphingolipids and particularly SM as a modulator of the fate of CD cells and probably contribute to the development of treatments to avoid or reverse renal fibrosis during aging.

Drosophila melanogaster is a leading model in population genetics and genomics, and a growing number of whole-genome data sets from natural populations of this species have been published over the last years. A major challenge is the integration of disparate data sets, often generated using different sequencing technologies and bioinformatic pipelines, which hampers our ability to address questions about the evolution of this species. Here we address these issues by developing a bioinformatics pipeline that maps pooled sequencing (Pool-Seq) reads from D. melanogaster to a hologenome consisting of fly and symbiont genomes and estimates allele frequencies using either a heuristic (PoolSNP) or a probabilistic variant caller (SNAPE-pooled). We use this pipeline to generate the largest data repository of genomic data available for D. melanogaster to date, encompassing 271 previously published and unpublished population samples from over 100 locations in >20 countries on four continents. Several of these locations have been sampled at different seasons across multiple years. This data set, which we call Drosophila Evolution over Space and Time (DEST), is coupled with sampling and environmental metadata. A web-based genome browser and web portal provide easy access to the SNP data set. We further provide guidelines on how to use Pool-Seq data for model-based demographic inference. Our aim is to provide this scalable platform as a community resource which can be easily extended via future efforts for an even more extensive cosmopolitan data set. Our resource will enable population geneticists to analyze spatiotemporal genetic patterns and evolutionary dynamics of D. melanogaster populations in unprecedented detail.

Classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is the cancer type most susceptible to antibodies targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) and is characterized by scarce Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells (HRSCs), perpetuating a unique tumor microenvironment (TME). Although anti-PD1 effects appear to be largely mediated by cytotoxic CD8+ T cells in solid tumors, HRSCs frequently lack major histocompatibility complex expression, and the mechanism of anti-PD1 efficacy in cHL is unclear. Rapid clinical responses and high interim complete response rates to anti-PD1 based first-line treatment were recently reported for patients with early-stage unfavorable cHL treated in the German Hodgkin Study Group phase 2 NIVAHL trial. To investigate the mechanisms underlying this very early response to anti-PD1 treatment, we analyzed paired biopsies and blood samples obtained from NIVAHL patients before and during the first days of nivolumab first-line cHL therapy. Mirroring the rapid clinical response, HRSCs had disappeared from the tissue within days after the first nivolumab application. The TME already shows a reduction in type 1 regulatory T cells and PD-L1+ tumor-associated macrophages at this early time point of treatment. Interestingly, a cytotoxic immune response and a clonal T-cell expansion were not observed in the tumors or peripheral blood. These early changes in the TME were distinct from alterations found in a separate set of cHL biopsies at relapse during anti-PD1 therapy. We identify a unique very early histologic response pattern to anti-PD1 therapy in cHL that is suggestive of withdrawal of prosurvival factors, rather than induction of an adaptive antitumor immune response, as the main mechanism of action.

Melamine (M) is a popular triamine triazine compound in the field of supramolecular materials. In this work, we have computationally investigated how substituents can be exploited to improve the binding strength of M supramolecules. Two types of covalent modifications were studied: the substitution of an H atom within an amine group -NHR, and the replacement of the whole -NH2 group (R=H, F, CH3 and COCH3 ). Through our dispersion-corrected density functional theory computations, we explain which covalent modification will show the best self-assembling capabilities, and why the binding energy is enhanced. Our charge density and molecular orbital analyses indicate that the best substituents are those that generate a charge accumulation on the endocyclic N atom, providing an improvement of the electrostatic attraction. At the same time the substituent assists the main N-H⋅⋅⋅N hydrogen bonds by interacting with the amino group of the other monomer. We also show how the selected group notably boosts the strength of hexameric rosettes. This research, therefore, provides molecular tools for the rational design of emerging materials based on uneven hydrogen-bonded arrangements.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common mature B-cell neoplasm in the West. IGHV4-34 is one of the most frequently used genes in CLL patients, which usually display an indolent outcome. In this study, we explored the mutational profile of CLL patients expressing IGHV4-34 within different stereotypes and their association with prognostic factors and clinical outcome. A multi-institutional cohort of unselected 1444 CLL patients was analyzed by RT-PCR and bidirectional sequencing. Cytogenetics and molecular cytogenetics analyses were also performed. We identified 144 (10%) IGHV4-34 expressing cases, 119 mutated (M), 44 of them with stereotyped B-cell receptors. Subset #4 was the most frequent (56.8% of cases) followed by subsets #16 (13.6%), #29 (6.8%), and #201 (2.3%), with different distribution among countries. Analysis of somatic hypermutation profile showed significant differences among stereotyped subsets for G28>D/E, P45>S, E55>Q, and S64>I changes (p < 0.01) and high frequency of disruption of the glycosylation motif in the VH CDR2 region. All stereotyped IGHV4-34 cases showed normal karyotypes. Deletion 13q14 as a sole alteration was present in 42.8% of stereotyped cases with a different distribution among subsets. A shorter time to first treatment was found in non-stereotyped vs. stereotyped M-IGHV4-34 patients (p = 0.034). Our results add new information supporting the importance of recurrent amino acid changes at particular positions, contributing to refine the molecular characterization of South American CLL patients.

This article investigates two types of mixed self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) derived from adsorbates having cyclohexyl and phenyl tail groups mixed with their perfluorinated analogues. The mixed SAMs were characterized using ellipsometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), polarization-modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy, and contact angle measurements. The XPS results show preferential adsorption of the nonfluorinated adsorbate in the perfluorocyclohexyl-terminated/cyclohexyl-terminated pair due to the steric bulk of the tail groups. On the other hand, mixed surfaces with a precisely controlled surface composition were achieved with the phenyl-terminated/perfluorophenyl-terminated mixed SAMs, exhibiting a linear relationship between the mole fraction on the surface and the mole fraction in solution. The results suggest that the relative solubility, steric bulk of the tail group moiety, and the interaction between two different adsorbates are the key factors driving the phase phenomena observed in the SAMs. More importantly, this study suggests that the interfacial properties can be controlled with a minimal loss of packing densities with the phenyl-terminated/perfluorophenyl-terminated mixed SAMs.

BACKGROUND: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients are at high-risk for severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The multicentric, observational and prospective SENCOVAC study aims to describe the humoral response and safety of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines in CKD patients. Safety and immediate humoral response results are reported here. METHODS: Four cohorts of patients were included: kidney transplant (KT) recipients, and haemodialysis (HD), peritoneal dialysis (PD) and non-dialysis CKD patients from 50 Spanish centres. Adverse events after vaccine doses were recorded. At baseline and on Day 28 after the last vaccine dose, anti-Spike antibodies were measured and compared between cohorts. Factors associated with development of anti-Spike antibodies were analysed. RESULTS: A total of 1746 participants were recruited: 1116 HD, 171 PD, 176 non-dialysis CKD patients and 283 KT recipients. Most patients (98%) received mRNA vaccines. At least one vaccine reaction developed after the first dose in 763 (53.5%) and after the second dose in 741 (54.5%) of patients. Anti-Spike antibodies were measured in the first 301 patients. At 28 days, 95% of patients had developed antibodies: 79% of KT, 98% of HD, 99% of PD and 100% of non-dialysis CKD patients (P < 0.001). In a multivariate adjusted analysis, absence of an antibody response was independently associated with KT (odds ratio 20.56, P = 0.001) and with BNT162b2 vaccine (odds ratio 6.03, P = 0.023). CONCLUSION: The rate of anti-Spike antibody development after vaccination in KT patients was low but in other CKD patients it approached 100%, suggesting that KT patients require persistent isolation measures and booster doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. Potential differences between COVID-19 vaccines should be explored in prospective controlled studies.

AIMS: Entomopathogenic Metarhizium fungi are widely recognized for their biological control potential. In Cuba, several fungus-based bio-insecticides have been developed and are produced as part of integrated pest management (IPM) programmes for economically relevant agricultural pests. Screening of fungal isolates from the INISAV strain collection was used for the development of bio-insecticides against important pest insects as, for example the sweet potato weevil, Cylas formicarius. METHODS AND RESULTS: Six fungal isolates from Cuba were microscopically, morphologically and molecular-taxonomically characterized using marker sequences ef1a, rpb1 and rpb2, and the 5TEF region of the ef1a gene. Five isolates were assigned to the species Metarhizium anisopliae sensu stricto and one isolate to Metarhizium robertsii. The pathogenic potential was evaluated against adults of C. formicarius, and growth and conidial production on different nutritional media were determined. Metarhizium anisopliae strain LBM-267 displayed pronounced virulence against the sweet potato weevil and abundant conidia production on several culture media. CONCLUSIONS: Entomopathogenic fungal isolates from Cuba were assigned to the taxonomic species M. anisopliae sensu stricto and M. robertsii. Virulence assessment with respect to C. formicarius led to the identification of two M. anisopliae isolates holding biocontrol potential. Isolate LBM-11 has previously been developed into the bio-insecticide METASAVE-11 that is widely used to control several species of plant pathogenic weevils, Lepidoptera and thrips in Cuba. Isolate LBM-267 has not been employed previously but is as virulent against C. formicarius as LBM-11; its growth and conidial production capacities on different nutritional media will likely facilitate economically feasible bio-insecticide development. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: Metarhizium anisopliae isolate LBM-267 has been selected as a promising candidate for biocontrol of the sweet potato weevil, an economically important agricultural pest in Cuba, and for further R&D activities within the framework of the Biological Control Program of Cuba.

Most of the current knowledge on the genetic basis of adaptive evolution is based on the analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Despite increasing evidence for their causal role, the contribution of structural variants to adaptive evolution remains largely unexplored. In this work, we analyzed the population frequencies of 1,615 Transposable Element (TE) insertions annotated in the reference genome of Drosophila melanogaster, in 91 samples from 60 worldwide natural populations. We identified a set of 300 polymorphic TEs that are present at high population frequencies, and located in genomic regions with high recombination rate, where the efficiency of natural selection is high. The age and the length of these 300 TEs are consistent with relatively young and long insertions reaching high frequencies due to the action of positive selection. Besides, we identified a set of 21 fixed TEs also likely to be adaptive. Indeed, we, and others, found evidence of selection for 84 of these reference TE insertions. The analysis of the genes located nearby these 84 candidate adaptive insertions suggested that the functional response to selection is related with the GO categories of response to stimulus, behavior, and development. We further showed that a subset of the candidate adaptive TEs affects expression of nearby genes, and five of them have already been linked to an ecologically relevant phenotypic effect. Our results provide a more complete understanding of the genetic variation and the fitness-related traits relevant for adaptive evolution. Similar studies should help uncover the importance of TE-induced adaptive mutations in other species as well.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Healthcare professionals have played a fundamental role in managing and controlling the COVID-19 health crisis. They are exposed to high levels of suffering, trauma, uncertainty, and powerlessness in the workplace. The objective of this study was to explore and understand experiences of suffering among primary care and hospital care nurses during the COVID-19 health crisis. DESIGN: This is a descriptive qualitative study. Between March and April 2021, 19 in-depth interviews were carried out with nurses at health and social care facilities and hospitals in southern Spain. ATLAS.ti 9.0 software was used for discourse analysis. RESULTS: Nurses reported that they had experienced suffering during their work in the pandemic. The main causes suggested were direct contact with patients' suffering and organisational difficulties. The repercussions are in emotional dimension and physical deterioration and social isolation. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS: Given the circumstances, programmes to promote healthy, compassion-based behaviours and changes to the way in which professionals' suffering is handled must be implemented by healthcare facility managers. Nursing leaders should consider the management of suffering as a matter of the first order, both from the ethical point of view and the business profitability and make compassionate leadership.

Genetic variation is the fuel of evolution, with standing genetic variation especially important for short-term evolution and local adaptation. To date, studies of spatiotemporal patterns of genetic variation in natural populations have been challenging, as comprehensive sampling is logistically difficult, and sequencing of entire populations costly. Here, we address these issues using a collaborative approach, sequencing 48 pooled population samples from 32 locations, and perform the first continent-wide genomic analysis of genetic variation in European Drosophila melanogaster. Our analyses uncover longitudinal population structure, provide evidence for continent-wide selective sweeps, identify candidate genes for local climate adaptation, and document clines in chromosomal inversion and transposable element frequencies. We also characterize variation among populations in the composition of the fly microbiome, and identify five new DNA viruses in our samples.

Thermal ablative therapies are standard treatments for localized hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In addition to local tumor destruction, ablation leads to abscopal effects in distant lesions most likely mediated by an anti-tumor immune response. Although microwave ablation (MWA) is increasingly substituting other ablative techniques, its systemic immunostimulatory effects are poorly studied. We analyzed tumor-specific immune responses in peripheral blood of HCC patients after thermal ablation with regard to T cell responses and disease outcome. While comprehensive flow cytometric analyses in sequential samples of a prospective patient cohort (n = 23) demonstrated only moderate effects of MWA on circulating immune cell subsets, fluorospot analyses of specific T cell responses against seven tumor-associated antigens (TTAs) revealed de-novo or enhanced tumor-specific immune responses in 30% of patients. This anti-tumor immune response was related to tumor control as Interferon-y and Interleukin-5 T cell responses against TAAs were more frequent in patients with a long-time remission (> 1 year) after MWA (7/16) compared to patients suffering from an early relapse (0/13 patients) and presence of tumor-specific T cell response (IFN-y and/or IL-5) was associated to longer progression-free survival (27.5 vs. 10.0 months). Digital image analysis of immunohistochemically stained archival HCC samples (n = 18) of patients receiving combined MWA and resection revealed a superior disease-free survival of patients with high T cell abundance at the time of thermal ablation (37.4 vs. 13.1 months). Our data demonstrates remarkable immune-related effects of MWA in HCC patients and provides additional evidence for a combination of local ablation and immunotherapy in this challenging disease.

MOTIVATION: Transposable elements (TEs) constitute a significant proportion of the majority of genomes sequenced to date. TEs are responsible for a considerable fraction of the genetic variation within and among species. Accurate genotyping of TEs in genomes is therefore crucial for a complete identification of the genetic differences among individuals, populations and species. RESULTS: In this work, we present a new version of T-lex, a computational pipeline that accurately genotypes and estimates the population frequencies of reference TE insertions using short-read high-throughput sequencing data. In this new version, we have re-designed the T-lex algorithm to integrate the BWA-MEM short-read aligner, which is one of the most accurate short-read mappers and can be launched on longer short-reads (e.g. reads >150 bp). We have added new filtering steps to increase the accuracy of the genotyping, and new parameters that allow the user to control both the minimum and maximum number of reads, and the minimum number of strains to genotype a TE insertion. We also showed for the first time that T-lex3 provides accurate TE calls in a plant genome. AVAILABILITY AND IMPLEMENTATION: To test the accuracy of T-lex3, we called 1630 individual TE insertions in Drosophila melanogaster, 1600 individual TE insertions in humans, and 3067 individual TE insertions in the rice genome. We showed that this new version of T-lex is a broadly applicable and accurate tool for genotyping and estimating TE frequencies in organisms with different genome sizes and different TE contents.
