RESUMO

The Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) presents a substantial risk to the domestic pig industry, resulting in extensive and fatal viral diarrhea among piglets. Recognizing the mucosal stimulation triggered by PEDV and harnessing the regulatory impact of lactobacilli on intestinal function, we have developed a lactobacillus-based vaccine that is carefully designed to elicit a strong mucosal immune response. Through bioinformatics analysis, we examined PEDV S proteins to identify B-cell linear epitopes that meet the criteria of being non-toxic, soluble, antigenic, and capable of neutralizing the virus. In this study, a genetically modified strain of Lactobacillus mucosae G01 (L.mucosae G01) was created by utilizing the S layer protein (SLP) as a scaffold for surface presentation. Chimeric immunodominant epitopes with neutralizing activity were incorporated at various sites on SLP. The successful expression of SLP chimeric immunodominant epitope 1 on the surface of L.mucosae G01 was confirmed through indirect immunofluorescence and transmission electron microscopy, revealing the formation of a transparent membrane. The findings demonstrate that the oral administration of L.mucosae G01, which expresses the SLP chimeric immunodominant gene epitope1, induces the production of secreted IgA in the intestine and feces of mice. Additionally, there is an elevation in IgG levels in the serum. Moreover, the levels of cytokines IL-2, IL-4, IFN-γ, and IL-17 are significantly increased compared to the negative control group. These results suggest that L. mucosae G01 has the ability to deliver exogenous antigens and elicit a specific mucosal immune response against PEDV. This investigation presents new possibilities for immunoprophylaxis against PEDV-induced diarrhea.

RESUMO

The Rh(III)-catalyzed reaction of aromatic ketoximes with 2-vinylaziridines affords ortho-allylation products of the phenyl rings of aromatic ketoximes in moderate to excellent yields. The reaction requires 0.5 equiv of NaOAc as a base and occurs under mild conditions. The protocol exhibits ortho-monoallylation selectivity, wide scope of substrates, and good compatibility of functional groups.

RESUMO

A high performance, electroenzymatic microsensor for choline based on choline oxidase (ChOx) immobilized on Pt coated with permselective polymer layers has been created that exhibits sensitivity approaching the theoretical performance limit. Sensor construction was guided by simulations performed with a detailed mathematical model. Implantable microsensors with an array of electroenzymatic sensing sites provide a means to record concentration changes of choline, an effective surrogate for acetylcholine due to its very rapid turnover in the brain, and other neurochemicals in vivo. However, electroenzymatic sensors generally have insufficient sensitivity and response time to monitor neurotransmitter signaling on the millisecond timescale with cellular-level spatial resolution. Model simulations suggested that choline sensor performance can be improved significantly by optimizing immobilized ChOx layer thickness and minimizing the thicknesses of permselective polymer coatings as well. Electroenzymatic choline sensors constructed with a ∼5 µm-thick crosslinked ChOx layer atop 200 nm-thick permselective films (poly(m-phenylenediamine) and Nafion) exhibited unprecedented sensitivity and response time of 660 ± 40 nA µM-1 cm-2 at 37 °C and 0.36 ± 0.05 s, respectively, while maintaining excellent selectivity. Such performance characteristics provide greater flexibility in the design of microelectrode array (MEA) probes with near cellular-scale sensing sites arranged in more dense arrays. Also, faster response times enable better resolution of transient acetylcholine signals and better correlation of these events with electrophysiological recordings so as to advance study of brain function.

RESUMO

We carried out the investigation to evaluate hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection status and the influence of HBV infection in pregnant women in Tianjin of China. We founded that the prevalence of HBsAg was 3.77% (69/1829). 88.57% (1620/1829) pregnant women conducted HBsAg screening in last pregnancy. Spontaneous abortion and premature delivery did not show significant differences between HBV infected and uninfected pregnant women. But ALT and AST levels were significantly higher in infected women. And 56.65% of participants (997/1760) were anti-HBs positive. In conclusion, HBsAg prevalence was moderate in pregnant women in this region, which was consistent with the total population in western Pacific regions. And HBV infection did not influence spontaneous abortion and premature delivery. But the HBsAg screening was conducted mostly in the last pregnancy. Early screening and intervention were suggested in pregnant women within countries of moderately endemic regions.

RESUMO

Of the multitude of stimuli-responsive microgels, it is still a challenge to achieve multiple responsivenesses to one single stimulus, which can even revert to the corresponding original state autonomously after stimulus. In this work, we reported a series of anthraquinone functionalized microgels (PNI-xVAQ) with thermosensitivity and redox-actuated self-regulating color, size, and fluorescent properties, which were easily synthesized via surfactant-free emulsion copolymerization (SFEP) with N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) as the monomer, 2-vinylanthraquinone (VAQ) as the comonomer, and N,N'-methylenebis(acrylamide) (BIS) as the cross-linker in an aqueous solution at 70 °C. The hydrophobic interactions of comonomer VAQ also led to the formation of internal phase-separated hydrophobic nanodomains in the obtained PNI-xVAQ microgels. The self-regulating color, size, and fluorescence changes of the PNI-xVAQ microgels were reliant on the nonequilibrium redox process of anthraquinone moieties by the addition of sodium dithionite as the chemical fuel to activate the positive feedback that was the reduction of anthraquinone to transient anthraquinone radical anions, following the slow oxidation of anthraquinone radical anions by autonomous "breathing" oxygen in air as the delayed negative feedback. These autonomous self-regulating properties of the PNI-xVAQ microgel were recyclable to a certain extent by repeated feeding of sodium dithionite.

RESUMO

The sensitivity and response time of glutamate sensors based on glutamate oxidase immobilized on planar platinum microelectrodes have been improved to near the theoretical performance limits predicted by a detailed mathematical model. Microprobes with an array of electroenzymatic sensing sites have emerged as useful tools for the monitoring of glutamate and other neurotransmitters in vivo; and implemented as such, they can be used to study many complex neurological diseases and disorders including Parkinson's disease and drug addiction. However, less than optimal sensitivity and response time has limited the spatiotemporal resolution of these promising research tools. A mathematical model has guided systematic improvement of an electroenzymatic glutamate microsensor constructed with a 1-2 µm-thick crosslinked glutamate oxidase layer and underlying permselective coating of polyphenylenediamine and Nafion reduced to less than 200 nm thick. These design modifications led to a nearly 6-fold improvement in sensitivity to 320 ± 20 nA µM-1 cm-2 at 37 °C and a ∼10-fold reduction in response time to 80 ± 10 ms. Importantly, the sensitivity and response times were attained while maintaining a low detection limit and excellent selectivity. Direct measurement of the transport properties of the enzyme and polymer layers used to create the biosensors enabled improvement of the mathematical model as well. Subsequent model simulations indicated that the performance characteristics achieved with the optimized biosensors approach the theoretical limits predicted for devices of this construction. Such high-performance glutamate biosensors will be more effective in vivo at a size closer to cellular dimension and will enable better correlation of glutamate signaling events with electrical recordings.

RESUMO

Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM)-tannic acid (TA) microgels were successfully prepared via surfactant-free emulsion polymerization (SFEP) at 70 °C in aqueous solution using N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) as the monomer and a natural polyphenol macromolecule, TA, as the sole cross-linker. The cross-linking network of the PNIPAM-TA microgels was confirmed to contain both physical cross-linking structures formed via hydrogen-bonding interactions between TA and PNIPAM chains and chemical cross-linking structures formed via capturing the radicals of propagating polymer chains by catechol and pyrogallol groups of TA. Furthermore, TA was applied to modify the surface of hydrophobic Fe3O4 nanoparticles, leading to hydrophilic Fe3O4@TA composite nanoparticles, which were successfully used as the cross-linker to fabricate PNIPAM-Fe3O4@TA organic-inorganic hybrid microgels. The obtained PNIPAM-TA and PNIPAM-Fe3O4@TA organic-inorganic hybrid microgels had a uniform spherical shape with a relatively narrow size distribution and exhibited thermosensitive behavior and pH-tunable degradation. The PNIPAM-TA microgels were stable in the pH range of 1.3-11.1 but underwent complete degradation with pH above 11.4. The PNIPAM-Fe3O4@TA hybrid microgels were partially degraded at pH values of 1.3 and 2.1, stable in the pH range of 3.1-11.1, and underwent complete degradation at pH above 11.4. The partial degradation of PNIPAM-Fe3O4@TA organic-inorganic hybrid microgels under strong acidic conditions was attributed to the disintegration of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The complete degradation of both microgels at pH above 11.4 was attributed to the hydrolysis of ester groups of TA under strong alkali conditions.

RESUMO

Degradable and thermosensitive microgels were successfully prepared via simultaneous quaternization and siloxane condensation during surfactant-free emulsion polymerization, with N-vinylcaprolactam as the main monomer and 1-vinylimidazole (VIM) as the comonomer, in the presence of (3-bromopropyl)trimethoxysilane (BPTMOS). The formation mechanism of cross-linking network was attributed to the hydrolysis and condensation of the methoxysilyl groups of BPTMOS and the quaternization of imidazole moiety of VIM by the bromine group of BPTMOS, leading to the microgels. The microgels were spherical in shape with a narrow size distribution, stable in an acidic buffer solution, but degradable in neutral and alkaline solutions. The presence of quaternized imidazolium in the same chain segment of Si-O-Si cross-linking points promoted the decomposition of Si-O-Si bonds and hence the degradation of the microgels. The obtained microgels could load and release the model drug, doxorubicin. The size, thermosensitivity, stability, degradation rate, and drug release behavior of the resultant microgels could be tuned by controlling the cross-linking degree, chemical composition, and degradation medium.

RESUMO

A highly selective and sensitive optical sensor was developed to colorimetric detect trace Fe3+ ions in aqueous solution. The sensor was the sulfasalazine (SSZ) functionalized microgels (SSZ-MGs), which were fabricated via in-situ quaternization reaction. The obtained SSZ-MGs had hydrodynamic radius of about 259 ± 24 nm with uniform size distribution at 25 °C. The SSZ-MG aqueous suspensions can selectively and sensitively response to Fe3+ ions in aqueous solution at 25 °C and pH of 5.6, which can be quantified by UV-visible spectroscopy and also easily distinguished by the naked eye. Job's plot indicated that the molar binding ratio of SSZ moiety in SSZ-MGs to Fe3+ was close to 1:1 with an apparent association constant of 1.72 × 104 M-1. A linear range of 0-12 µM with the detection limit of 0.110 µM (0.006 mg/L) was found. The obtained detection limit was much lower than the maximum allowance level of Fe3+ ions in drinking water (0.3 mg/L) regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States. The existence of 19 other species of metal ions, namely, Ag+, Li+, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Pb2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Cr3+, Yb3+, La3+, Gd3+, Ce3+, and Bi3+, did not interfere with the detection of Fe3+ ions.

RESUMO

Microgels with internal nanophase-separated structures were fabricated by surfactant-free emulsion copolymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) and ionic liquid comonomers, namely, 1-vinyl-3-alkylimidazolium bromide (VIM nBr) with various lengths n of long alkyl side chain, in an aqueous solution at 70 °C using N, N'-methylenebisacrylamide as the cross-linker. Combined techniques of transmission electron microscopy, dynamic and static light-scattering, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and polarized optical microscopy were employed to systematically investigate the sizes, morphologies, and properties of the obtained microgels as well as the microstructures and phase transition of nanophases inside the microgels. The obtained P(NIPAm/VIM nBr) microgels are spherical with narrow size distributions, and the nanophases have a radius of about 8-12 nm and are randomly distributed inside the microgels. The cooperative competition of the hydrophilic quaternary vinylimidazole moieties and hydrophobic long alkyl side chains determines the thermal sensitive behavior of the P(NIPAm/VIM nBr) microgels. DSC and WAXD results reveal that the nanophases consist of the ordered alkyl side chains with a layered crystalline structure at low temperature, which exhibit a low melting temperature and a broad melting transition. SAXS results further show that the nanophases form a layered liquid crystalline structure at high temperature for the microgel suspensions and freeze-dried microgels.

RESUMO

In recent years, rehabilitation of ischemic stroke draws more and more attention in the world, and has been linked to changes of synaptic plasticity. Exercise training improves motor function of ischemia as well as cognition which is associated with formation of learning and memory. The molecular basis of learning and memory might be synaptic plasticity. Research has therefore been conducted in an attempt to relate effects of exercise training to neuroprotection and neurogenesis adjacent to the ischemic injury brain. The present paper reviews the current literature addressing this question and discusses the possible mechanisms involved in modulation of synaptic plasticity by exercise training. This review shows the pathological process of synaptic dysfunction in ischemic roughly and then discusses the effects of exercise training on scaffold proteins and regulatory protein expression. The expression of scaffold proteins generally increased after training, but the effects on regulatory proteins were mixed. Moreover, the compositions of postsynaptic receptors were changed and the strength of synaptic transmission was enhanced after training. Finally, the recovery of cognition is critically associated with synaptic remodeling in an injured brain, and the remodeling occurs through a number of local regulations including mRNA translation, remodeling of cytoskeleton, and receptor trafficking into and out of the synapse. We do provide a comprehensive knowledge of synaptic plasticity enhancement obtained by exercise training in this review.

RESUMO

A magnetic bead-based SELEX was applied to identify 37 single-stranded DNA aptamers specific for tobramycin after ten rounds of selection. The aptamers were classified into nine families according to sequence analysis. Among them, several aptamers with typical sequences were selected and their dissociation constants (Kds) were determined by a fluorescent method. An aptamer termed "Ap 32", with a Kd value of 56.8 ± 4.6 nM, possesses the highest affinity and satisfactory specificity. Theoretical modeling showed that nucleotides 14-18 and 26-29 play a most significant role in the interaction between aptamer and tobramycin. Subsequently, the sequence of Ap 32 was optimized through rationally designed truncation. The truncated aptamer Ap 32-2 consists of 34 nucleotides and has a Kd that is similar to the original one. It was chosen as the optimal aptamer for use in the assay and was immobilized on gold nanoparticles. On addition of tobramycin, the color turns from red to purple. The findings were used to design a photometric assay (best performed at 520 nm) that has a linear response in the 100 nM to 1.4 µM concentration range, with a 37.9 nM detection limit. The method was successfully applied to the determination of tobramycin in (spiked) honey samples. Graphical abstract A 34-nucleotide aptamer specific for tobramycin was obtained through magnetic beads-based systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) and structural analysis-based rational post-SELEX truncation, and then applied to the determination of tobramycin using a gold nanoparticle-based photometric assay.

RESUMO

The chain conformations and adsorption behaviors of four thermo-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)x-poly(propylene oxide)36-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)x (PNIPAmx-PPO36-PNIPAmx) triblock copolymers with x values of 15, 33, 75, and 117 in dilute aqueous solutions were investigated by combined techniques of micro-differential scanning calorimetry (micro-DSC), static and dynamic light scattering (SLS & DLS), and the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). PNIPAm15-PPO36-PNIPAm15 only exhibited the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the PPO block, i.e. 25 °C, because the PNIPAm block with x = 15 was too short to maintain its own LCST. With middle lengths x of 33 and 75, the LCSTs of PPO and PNIPAm blocks were observed, respectively. For the longest PNIPAm block with x = 117, only LCST of PNIPAm block dominated, i.e. 32.3 °C. DLS results revealed that the four PNIPAmx-PPO36-PNIPAmx triblock copolymers formed "associate" structures in their dilute aqueous solutions at 20 °C, which was well below the LCSTs of the PPO and PNIPAm blocks. QCM results indicated that the adsorption time constant decreased with increasing adsorption temperature but tended to increase with increasing length x of the PNIPAm block. A complex adsorption behavior with large adsorption amounts was only observed at the corresponding LCST of the PNIPAm block for PNIPAmx-PPO36-PNIPAmx with longer PNIPAm blocks with x = 33, 75, and 117. Furthermore, the adsorbed PNIPAmx-PPO36-PNIPAmx layers obtained at 20 °C were rigid with less energy dissipation.

RESUMO

The biocompatible poly(N-vinylpyrrolidinone) (PNVP) microgels were synthesized via surfactant free emulsion polymerization with N-vinylpyrrolidinone (NVP) as the monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linker at 60 °C. The obtained PNVP microgels are spherical in shape with hydrodynamic diameter of approximately 200 nm and narrow size distribution. The PNVP microgels show rough surfaces due to the different reaction rates of monomer NVP and cross-linker EGDMA. The obtained PNVP microgels could well disperse in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution with long-term stability, which make them candidates for bioapplications. The results of 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) tests indicated that the PNVP microgels are biocompatible with low toxicity even at a concentration of 1000 µg/mL. By labeling the PNVP microgels with fluorescein comonomer, it was demonstrated that the PNVP microgels could be uptaken by human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK-293) cells. The experimental results indicated that the release of isoniazid (INH, the hydrophilic model drug) could be well described by a Fickian release, whereas the microgels exhibited burst release for 5-fluorouracil (5-fu, the hydrophobic model drug).

RESUMO

In this research, the diffusion behaviors within the Ti-Fe-Cr ternary system were examined at the temperatures of 1273 K and 1373 K through the diffusion couple technique. This study led to the determination of both ternary inter-diffusion and impurity diffusion coefficients in the body-centered cubic (bcc) phase for the Ti-Fe-Cr alloy, utilizing the Whittle-Green and Hall methods. The statistics show that the average diffusion coefficients D˜FeFeTi and D˜CrCrTi measured at 1273 K were 1.34 × 10-12 and 3.66 × 10-13, respectively. At 1373 K, the average values of D˜FeFeTi and D˜CrCrTi were 4.89 × 10-12 and 1.43 × 10-12. By adopting the CALPHAD method, a self-consistent database for atomic mobility in the bcc phase of the Ti-Fe-Cr system was established. This database underwent refinement by comparing the newly acquired diffusion coefficients with data from the existing literature. Diffusion simulations for the diffusion couples were performed, drawing on the established database. The error between the simulated diffusion coefficient and the experimental measurement data is within 15%, and the simulated data of the component distance distribution and diffusion path are in good agreement with the experimental data. The simulations generated results that aligned well with the observed experimental diffusion characteristics, thereby affirming the reliability and accuracy of the database.

RESUMO

Oral behavior management methods include basic behavior management methods and drug behavior management methods. In many cases, dental treatment that cannot be done simply through basic behavior management is not possible. The uncooperative behavior of children with dental fear in oral treatment has increased the demand for medication based behavior management methods. Drug sedation can provide more effective analgesic and anti-anxiety effects, thereby helping to provide comfortable, efficient, and high-quality dental services. This article will review the drug sedation methods selected in clinical treatment of pediatric dental fear in recent years, as well as the safety and effectiveness of commonly used drugs, in order to provide guidance for dental professionals in clinical practice.

RESUMO

Although vaccination with inactivated vaccines is a popular preventive method against pseudorabies virus (PRV) infection, inactivated vaccines have poor protection efficiency because of their weak immunogenicity. The development of an effective adjuvant is urgently needed to improve the efficacy of inactivated PRV vaccines. In this study, a promising nanocomposite adjuvant named as MIL@A-SW01-C was developed by combining polyacrylic acid-coated metal-organic framework MIL-53(Al) (MIL@A) and squalene (oil)-in-water emulsion (SW01) and then mixing it with a carbomer solution. One part of the MIL@A was loaded onto the oil/water interface of SW01 emulsion via hydrophobic interaction and coordination, while another part was dispersed in the continuous water phase using carbomer. MIL@A-SW01-C showed good biocompatibility, high PRV (antigen)-loading capability, and sustained antigen release. Furthermore, the MIL@A-SW01-C adjuvanted PRV vaccine induced high specific serum antibody titers, increased splenocyte proliferation and cytokine secretion, and a more balanced Th1/Th2 immune response compared with commercial adjuvants, such as alum and biphasic 201. In the mouse challenge experiment, two- and one-shot vaccinations resulted in survival rates of 73.3 % and 86.7 %, respectively. After one-shot vaccination, the host animal pigs were also challenged with wild PRV. A protection rate of 100 % was achieved, which was much higher than that observed with commercial adjuvants. This study not only establishes the superiority of MIL@A-SW01-C composite nanoadjuvant for inactivated PRV vaccine in mice and pigs but also presents an effective method for developing promising nanoadjuvants. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: We have developed a nanocomposite of MIL-53(Al) and oil-in-water emulsion (MIL@A-SW01-C) as a promising adjuvant for the inactivated PRV vaccines. MIL@A-SW01-C has good biocompatibility, high PRV (antigen) loading capability, and prolonged antigen release. The developed nanoadjuvant induced much higher specific IgG antibody titers, increased splenocyte proliferation and cytokine secretion, and a more balanced Th1/Th2 immune response than commercial adjuvants alum and biphasic 201. In mouse challenge experiments, survival rates of 73.3 % and 86.7 % were achieved from two-shot and one-shot vaccinations, respectively. At the same time, a protection rate of 100 % was achieved with the host animal pigs challenged with wild PRV.

RESUMO

Adverse perinatal factors can interfere with the normal development of the brain, potentially resulting in long-term effects on the comprehensive development of children. Presently, the understanding of cognitive and neurodevelopmental processes under conditions of adverse perinatal factors is substantially limited. There is a critical need for an open resource that integrates various perinatal factors with the development of the brain and mental health to facilitate a deeper understanding of these developmental trajectories. In this Data Descriptor, we introduce a multicenter database containing information on perinatal factors that can potentially influence children's brain-mind development, namely, periCBD, that combines neuroimaging and behavioural phenotypes with perinatal factors at county/region/central district hospitals. PeriCBD was designed to establish a platform for the investigation of individual differences in brain-mind development associated with perinatal factors among children aged 3-10 years. Ultimately, our goal is to help understand how different adverse perinatal factors specifically impact cognitive development and neurodevelopment. Herein, we provide a systematic overview of the data acquisition/cleaning/quality control/sharing, processes of periCBD.

RESUMO

Thermo-sensitive microgels known as PMO-MGs were synthesized via surfactant free emulsion polymerization, with poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (OEGMA475) and 2-(2-methoxyethoxy) ethyl methacrylate (MEO2MA) used as the monomers and N, N-methylene-bis-acrylamide used as the crosslinker. PMO-MGs are spherical in shape and have an average diameter of 323 ± 12 nm, as determined via transmission electron microscopy. PMO-MGs/poly (ether sulfone) (PES) composited ultrafiltration membranes were then successfully prepared via the non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method using a PMO-MG and PES mixed solution as the casting solution. The obtained membranes were systematically characterized via combined X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and contact angle goniometer techniques. It was found that the presence of PMO-MGs significantly improved the surface hydrophilicity and antifouling performance of the obtained membranes and the PMO-MGs mainly located on the channel surface of the membranes. At 20 °C, the pure water flux increased from 217.6 L·m-2·h-1 for pure PES membrane (M00) to 369.7 L·m-2·h-1 for PMO-MGs/PES composited membrane (M20) fabricated using the casting solution with 20-weight by percentage microgels. The incorporation of PMO-MGs also gave the composited membranes a thermo-sensitive character. When the temperature increased from 20 to 45 °C, the pure water flux of M20 membrane was enhanced from 369.7 to 618.7 L·m-2·h-1.

RESUMO

Chromic materials play a decisive and escalating role in information security. However, it is challenging to develop chromic materials for encryption technologies that can hardly be imitated. Inspired by versatile metachrosis in nature, a series of coumarin-based 7-(6-bromohexyloxy)-coumarin microgel colloidal crystals (BrHC MGCC) with multiresponsive chromism are able to be assembled by ionic microgels in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) solution followed by two cycles of freezing-thawing. The ionic microgels can be finely tailored by in situ quaternization with tunable size under varied temperatures and hydration energies of counterions as well as quenched luminescence under UV irradiation, which endows BrHC MGCC with intriguing chromism in the dual-channel coloration of physical structural color and chemical fluorescent color. Three types of BrHC MGCC exhibit various change ranges in structural coloration and similar quenching in fluorescence emission, which can be utilized for the development of the static-dynamic combined anticounterfeiting system with dual coloration. The information conveyed by the BrHC MGCC array presents dynamic variation versus temperature, while the static information can be only integrally read in both sunlight and a 365 nm UV lamp. The fabrication of a microgel colloidal crystal with dual coloration opens a facile and ecofriendly window for multilevel information security, camouflage, and a cumbersome authentication process.
