RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To examine the application of a novel pedagogical approach multidimensional supportive psychological intervention (MSPI) in the clinical practice teaching of andrological nursing care. METHODS: Using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), we assessed the psychology of 100 nursing interns about to enter clinical practice in the Department of Andrology from December 2021 to December 2022. We equally randomized the subjects into an experimental and a control group, the former receiving MSPI and the latter trained on the conventional teaching model without any psychological support intervention. RESULTS: Compared with the baseline, the HAMD scores were significantly decreased in the experimental group after intervention (12.4±2.1 vs 8.9±2.4, P<0.01), but increased in the controls (13.1±1.8 vs 14.7±1.9, P<0.01); the skill scores dramatically increased in the experimental group (82.6±4.7 vs 91.2±2.4, P<0.01), but decreased in the control group after intervention (81.0±3.5 vs 80.4±2.7, P = 0.28). CONCLUSION: MSPI can significantly enhance the learning enthusiasm of nursing students in a short period, reduce their psychological stress and improve teaching outcomes. This approach, combining psychology with teaching, can also strengthen the mental resilience of nursing students and better confront them with future professional challenges.

RESUMO

Based on first-principles calculation under density functional theory, the geometry, electronic and optical properties of the MoTe2/InSe heterojunction have been investigated. The results reveal that the MoTe2/InSe heterojunction has a typical type-Ⅱ band alignment and exhibits an indirect bandgap of 0.99 eV. In addition, the Z-scheme electron transport mechanism is capable of efficiently separating photogenerated carriers. The bandgap of the heterostructure changes regularly under applied electric field and exhibits a significant Giant Stark effect. Under an applied electric field of 0.5 V Å-1, the band alignment of the heterojunction shifts from type-Ⅱ to type-I. The application of strain produced comparable changes in the heterojunction. More importantly, the transition from semiconductor to metal is completed in the heterostructure under the applied electric field and strain. Furthermore, the MoTe2/InSe heterojunction retains the optical properties of two monolayers and produces greater light absorption on this basis, especially for UV light. The above results offer a theoretical basis for the application of MoTe2/InSe heterostructure in the next generation of photodetectors.

RESUMO

In the conventional method of microskin autografting, aggressive early excision is adopted, followed by coverage with a microskin-allograft complex to close extensive burn wounds. However, early excision is always associated with a defect of viable tissue, resulting in massive blood loss and causing high risk to aged patients or those with other systemic diseases. We developed a new method in which an eschar thinning operation was first adopted, followed by raising granulation tissue and microskin autografting, which was covered by a Vaseline-based moisture dressing. A total of 52 patients were included in this study and randomly assigned to the control group (n=26) and the experimental group (n=26) for the conventional method and the new method, respectively. The re-epithelisation rate on the 21st day after autografting indicated that there was no significant difference between both groups. There was also no significant difference between the two groups when the re-epithelialisation rate was compared with the type of organisms cultured. However, the Vancouver Burn Skin Score (VBSS) results demonstrated a significant improvement of cosmetic appearance in the experimental group (score=2.1) as compared to the control group (score=3.9). The new method also showed other advantages, including less blood loss, shorter surgical duration and lower cost of surgery. From this prospective study, it can be concluded that the new method can be an alternative to the conventional microskin autografting procedure.
