RESUMO

Vacancy-ordered 12H-type hexagonal perovskites Ba6Ru2Na2X2O17 (X = P, V) with a (c'cchcc)2 stacking sequence of [BaO3]c, [BaO3]h, and [BaO2]c' layers, where c and h represent a cubic and hexagonal stacking sequence, were previously reported by Quarez et al. in 2003. They also synthesized Ba6Ta2Na2V2O17, but structural refinement was absent. Very recently, Szymanski et al. reported 43 new compounds, including 12H-type Ba6Ta2Na2V2O17, using large-scale ab initio phase-stability data from the Materials Project and Google DeepMind with the assistance of an autonomous laboratory. But their structural refinement was very poor. Here, we report the synthesis and structure of Ba6Ta2Na2V2O17, which does not have 12H-type structure but has a vacancy-ordered 6C-type perovskite with a (c'ccccc) stacking sequence of [BaO3]c and [BaO2]c' layers. We also report the phosphite analogue Ba6Ta2Na2P2O17 as a new compound. We claim an importance of careful structural characterization on newly discovered compounds; otherwise, the database constructed will lose credibility.

RESUMO

AIM: To detect immune-related adverse events (irAEs) early and treat them appropriately, our institute established an irAE-focused multidisciplinary toxicity team in cooperation with various departments. This study aimed to evaluate a consultation system involving a team of hepatologists in terms of its utility for the management of severe immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-induced liver toxicity. METHODS: To analyze the diagnosis and treatment of severe ICI-induced liver toxicity (Grade 2 requiring corticosteroid therapy and Grade 3 or higher), we examined patients' clinical courses before and after the hepatologist consultation system was established (pre-period, September 2014 to February 2019; post-period, March 2019 to March 2023). RESULTS: The median follow-up period was 392 days. Of the 1247 patients with advanced malignancies treated with ICIs, 66 developed severe ICI-induced liver toxicity (n = 22 and 44 in the pre- and post-periods, respectively). In the pre-period, hepatologist consultations were sought for 15/22 patients, whereas in the post-period, 42/44 patients were referred to and treated by hepatologists. The time from the onset of liver toxicity to the consultation was significantly shorter in the post-period than in the pre-period (mean 1.9 vs. 6.5 days, respectively; p = 0.012). The number of patients with a biopsy-confirmed diagnosis of ICI-induced liver toxicity was significantly higher in the post-period than in the pre-period (n = 22 vs. n = 3, respectively; p = 0.006). Finally, there were no cases of immune-related cholangitis in the pre-period, compared to five cases in the post-period. CONCLUSION: A hepatologist consultation system in an irAE-focused multidisciplinary toxicity team is useful for managing severe ICI-induced liver toxicity.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Dental caries are a common non-communicable disease among children. As a public health measure at the prefectural level, school-based fluoride mouth-rinse (S-FMR) program, medical/dental expense subsidy policies, and other factors may reduce the incidence of dental caries and tooth loss. Prefectures focusing on promoting oral health policies may promote both, but the interaction effect of implementing both subsidy policies and S-FMR at the prefectural level on caries prevention has not yet been examined. METHODS: We conducted an ecological study using two-wave panel data, prefecture-level aggregated data in Japan for 2016 and 2018. Coefficient and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated for the dependent variables for oral health using mixed-effects linear regression analysis adjusted for possible confounders. Two dependent variables were used; the standardized claim ratio (SCR) of deciduous tooth extraction and 12-year-olds' decayed, missing, or filled permanent teeth (DMFT). Four independent variables were S-FMR, the SCR of dental sealants, prefectural income per person, and subsidy policy in three models: co-payment until children enter elementary school (n = 23), no co-payment until children enter elementary school (n = 7), and co-payment continuing beyond elementary school (n = 17). The effects of six interaction terms, each representing a unique pairing from the four independent variables, were individually calculated. RESULTS: S-FMR was negatively associated with the SCR of deciduous tooth extractions and DMFT (coefficient = -0.11, 95% CI -0.20; -0.01 and coefficient = -0.003, 95% CI -0.005; -0.001, respectively). No co-payment until children enter elementary school was positively associated with the SCR of deciduous tooth extraction compared to co-payment until children enter elementary school(coefficient = 11.42, 95% CI 3.29; 19.55). SCR of dental sealants was positively associated with the SCR of deciduous tooth extractions (coefficient = 0.12, 95% CI 0.06; 0.19) but negatively associated with DMFT (coefficient = -0.001, 95% CI -0.003; -0.0001). Per capita prefectural income was positively associated with the SCR of deciduous tooth extractions(coefficient = 0.01, 95% CI 0.001; 0.02). No interaction was found between S-FMR and the subsidy policy at both outcomes. CONCLUSION: High S-FMR utilization and no co-payment until children enter elementary school were associated with fewer deciduous tooth extractions. Also, S-FMR and dental sealant were associated with decreased DMFT.

RESUMO

α-FAPbI3 (FA+ = CH(NH2)2+) with a cubic perovskite structure is promising for photophysical applications. However, α-FAPbI3 is metastable at room temperature, and it transforms to the δ-phase at a certain period of time at room temperature. Herein, we report a thiocyanate-stabilized pseudo-cubic perovskite FAPbI3 with ordered columnar defects (α'-phase). This compound has a √5ap × âˆš5ap × ap tetragonal unit cell (ap: cell parameter of primitive perovskite cell) with a band gap of 1.91 eV. It is stable at room temperature in a dry atmosphere. Furthermore, the presence of the α'-phase in a mixed sample with the δ-phase drastically reduces the δ-to-α transition temperature measured on heating, suggesting the reduction of the nucleation energy of the α-phase or thermodynamic stabilization of the α-phase through epitaxy. The defect-ordered pattern in the α'-phase forms a coincidence-site lattice at the twinned boundary of the single crystals, thus hinting at an epitaxy- or strain-based mechanism of α-phase formation and/or stabilization. In this study, we developed a new strategy to control defects in halide perovskites and provided new insight into the stabilization of α-FAPbI3 by pseudo-halide and grain boundary engineering.

RESUMO

Oxyhydrides with multi-anions (O2- and H-) are a recently developed material family and have attracted attention as catalysts and hydride ion conductors. High-pressure and high-temperature reactions are effective in synthesizing oxyhydrides, but the reactions sometimes result in inhomogeneous products due to insufficient diffusion of the solid components. Here, we synthesized new perovskite oxyhydrides SrVO2.4H0.6 and Sr3V2O6.2H0.8. We demonstrated that the addition of SrCl2 flux promotes diffusion during high-pressure and high-temperature reactions, and can be used for selective synthesis of the oxyhydride phases. We conducted in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements to reveal the role of this flux and reaction pathways. We also demonstrated the electronic and magnetic properties of the newly synthesized oxyhydrides and that they work as anode materials for Li-ion batteries with excellent reversibility and high-rate characteristics, the first case with an oxyhydride. Our synthesis approach would also be effective in synthesizing various types of multi-component systems.

RESUMO

Immune-related sclerosing cholangitis (irSC) is relatively rare and its clinical characteristics are not well known. In this study, we aimed to summarize the clinical features of irSC. Clinical data were collected retrospectively from 1,393 patients with advanced malignancy treated with immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) between August 2014 and October 2021. We analyzed patients with immune-related adverse events of liver injury (liver-irAEs) and compared irSC and non-irSC groups. Sixty-seven patients (4.8%) had a liver-irAE (≥ grade 3) during the follow-up period (median, 262 days). Among these, irSC was observed in eight patients (11.9%). All patients in the irSC group were treated with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies. Compared with the non-irSC group, the irSC group showed mainly non-hepatocellular liver injury (87.5 % vs 50.8 %, P = 0.065), and had elevated serum inflammatory markers (e.g., CRP and NLR) and biliary enzymes (e.g., GGTP and ALP) at the onset of liver-irAEs. Furthermore, most patients with irSC had abdominal pain. In the non-irSC group, the liver injury of 23 patients improved only with the discontinuation of ICIs, and 22 patients improved with medication including prednisolone (PSL). Conversely, almost all patients (n=7) in the irSC group were treated with PSL, but only two patients experienced an improvement in liver injury. We found that irSC is characterized by a non-hepatocellular type of liver injury with abdominal pain and a high inflammatory response and is refractory to treatment. Further examination by imaging is recommended to detect intractable irSC in cases with these characteristics.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Immune-related liver injury (liver-irAE) is a clinical problem with a potentially poor prognosis. METHODS: We retrospectively collected clinical data from patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors between September 2014 and December 2021 at the Nagoya University Hospital. Using an unsupervised machine learning method, the Gaussian mixture model, to divide the cohort into clusters based on inflammatory markers, we investigated the cumulative incidence of liver-irAEs in these clusters. RESULTS: This study included a total of 702 patients. Among them, 492 (70.1%) patients were male, and the mean age was 66.6 years. During the mean follow-up period of 423 days, severe liver-irAEs (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events grade ≥ 3) occurred in 43 patients. Patients were divided into five clusters (a, b, c, d, and e). The cumulative incidence of liver-irAE was higher in cluster c than in cluster a (hazard ratio [HR]: 13.59, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.70-108.76, P = 0.014), and overall survival was worse in clusters c and d than in cluster a (HR: 2.83, 95% CI: 1.77-4.50, P < 0.001; HR: 2.87, 95% CI: 1.47-5.60, P = 0.002, respectively). Clusters c and d were characterized by high temperature, C-reactive protein, platelets, and low albumin. However, there were differences in the prevalence of neutrophil count, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, and liver metastases between both clusters. CONCLUSIONS: The combined assessment of multiple markers and body temperature may help stratify high-risk groups for developing liver-irAE.

RESUMO

Poor oral health has been linked to an increased risk of mortality. People with good cooking skills may be able to cope with problems caused by oral dysfunction, such as restricted food choice. This study investigated whether cooking skills modified the association between oral health status and mortality. A 3-year follow-up was conducted among participants of the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study, a population-based cohort study of Japanese adults aged 65-101 years. Oral health assessment comprised number of teeth and three oral functions (awareness of swallowing difficulty, decline in masticatory function, and dry mouth). Cooking skills were assessed using a valid scale adapted for Japanese participants. Mortality from 2016 to 2019 was analysed for 10,121 respondents. Cox regression models were used to estimate hazard ratios for mortality risk adjusting for potential confounders, including sociodemographic factors and health status. During the follow-up, there were 488 deaths (4.8% of all participants). Both fewer teeth and poor oral function were associated with a greater mortality risk. Cooking skills modified the association only for oral function. Stratification by cooking skill score showed that the hazard ratios for ≥2 oral difficulties (vs. none) was 2.06 (95% confidence interval: 1.43-2.96) among those with low cooking skills and 1.25 (95% confidence interval: 0.92-1.71) among those with high cooking skills after adjusting for potential confounders. Improving cooking skills may be key to mitigating health risks owing to poor oral functions.

RESUMO

It remains unclear whether severe liver immune-related adverse events (liver-irAEs) can affect the prognosis in nonsmall cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) patients. Of the 365 NSCLC patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), 19 suffered from severe liver-irAEs (grade ≥3). The median time-to-onset of liver-irAEs was 53 days postinjection of the first ICI. The progression-free survival and overall survival of the liver-irAEs group (median 69 and 262 days, respectively) were significantly worse than the nonliver-irAEs group (128 and 722 days; P = 0.010 and P = 0.007; respectively). In conclusion, liver-irAEs were associated with poor prognosis in NSCLC patients.

RESUMO

AIM: Changes in body composition parameters are important prognostic factors in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatment. This study aimed to assess the clinical impact of early changes in body composition during lenvatinib (LEN) treatment on its time to treatment failure (TTF) for patients with advanced HCC. METHODS: In this retrospective study, we enrolled 65 patients who were administered LEN as the first-line treatment for unresectable HCC and evaluated the body composition change using computed tomography. We focused on the body composition change after 2 weeks of LEN treatment and assessed its impact on TTF and prognosis. RESULTS: Significant changes in body composition were observed during 14 weeks of LEN treatment. Among these changes, mean-skeletal muscle attenuation (SMA) decreased significantly within 2 weeks (P = 0.004) without symptoms or changes in the other parameters. In multivariate analysis, this early change in mean-SMA after LEN treatment was a significant predictor of time to treatment failure (HR: 2.67, 95%CI: 1.338-5.081, P = 0.005) in patients with HCC. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed that LEN treatment induces a change in the skeletal muscle asymptomatically for a short period, and evaluation of this change may help to predict the TTF of LEN treatment in patients with HCC.Supplemental data for this article is available online at https://doi.org/10.1080/01635581.2022.2049322 .

RESUMO

We present a detailed experimental and computational investigation of the influence of pressure on the mixed-anion oxyhydride phase Ba2YHO3, which has recently been shown to support hydride conductivity. The unique feature of this layered perovskite is that the oxide and hydride anions are segregated into distinct regions of the unit cell, in contrast to the disordered arrangement in closely related Ba2ScHO3. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations reveal that the application of pressure drives two sequential B1-B2 transitions in the interlayer regions from rock salt to CsCl-type ordering, one in the hydride-rich layer at approximately 10 GPa and another in the oxide-rich layer at 35-40 GPa. To verify the theoretical predictions, we experimentally observe the structural transition at 10 GPa using high-pressure X-ray diffraction (XRD), but the details of the structure cannot be solved due to peak broadening of the XRD patterns. We use DFT to explore the structural impact of pressure on the atomic scale and show how the pressure-dependent properties can be understood in terms of simple electrostatic engineering.

RESUMO

High-pressure techniques open exploration of functional materials in broad research fields. An established diamond anvil cell with a boron-doped diamond heater and transport measurement terminals has performed the high-pressure synthesis of a cubic Sn3S4 superconductor. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy reveal that the Sn3S4 phase is stable in the pressure range of P > 5 GPa in a decompression process. Transport measurement terminals in the diamond anvil cell detect a metallic nature and superconductivity in the synthesized Sn3S4 with a maximum onset transition temperature (Tconset) of 13.3 K at 5.6 GPa. The observed pressure-Tc relationship is consistent with that from the first-principles calculation. The observation of superconductivity in Sn3S4 opens further materials exploration under high-temperature and -pressure conditions.

RESUMO

We report room-temperature (RT) magnetoresistance (MR) in a novel Fe-based perovskite, SrV0.3Fe0.7O2.8. This compound contains ordered oxygen vacancies in every fifth primitive perovskite (111)p plane, leading to a layered structure consisting of triple-octahedral and double-tetrahedral layers. Along with the oxygen vacancies, the transition-metal ions are also ordered: the octahedral sites are occupied by 100% of Fe ions, while the tetrahedral sites are occupied by 25% of Fe ions and 75% of V ions. As a result, SrV0.3Fe0.7O2.8 forms a magnetically striped lattice in which the octahedral layers with 100% of magnetic Fe ions are separated by the diluted magnetic layer. The compound exhibits weak ferromagnetism and shows a large negative MR (-5% at 3 T) at RT, despite the small saturation moment (0.4 µB/Fe atom). Thus, this type of layered compound is promising for further large MR by an increase of magnetization through chemical substitution.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Although the feasibility of randomized trials for investigating the long-term association between oral health and cognitive decline is low, deriving causal inferences from observational data is challenging. We aimed to investigate the association between poor oral status and subjective cognitive complaints (SCC) using fixed-effects model to eliminate the confounding effect of unobserved time-invariant factors. METHODS: We used data from Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES) which was conducted in 2010, 2013, and 2016. ß regression coefficients and 95% confidence intervals [CIs] were calculated using fixed-effects models to determine the effect of deteriorating oral status on developing SCC. Onset of SCC was evaluated using the Kihon Checklist-Cognitive function score. Four oral status variables were used: awareness of swallowing difficulty, decline in masticatory function, dry mouth, and number of teeth. RESULTS: We included 13,594 participants (55.8% women) without SCC at baseline. The mean age was 72.4 (standard deviation [SD], 5.1) years for men and 72.4 (SD, 4.9) years for women. Within the 6-year follow-up, 26.6% of men and 24.9% of women developed SCC. The probability of developing SCC was significantly higher when participants acquired swallowing difficulty (ß = 0.088; 95% CI, 0.065-0.111 for men and ß = 0.077; 95% CI, 0.057-0.097 for women), decline in masticatory function (ß = 0.039; 95% CI, 0.021-0.057 for men and ß = 0.030; 95% CI, 0.013-0.046 for women), dry mouth (ß = 0.026; 95% CI, 0.005-0.048 for men and ß = 0.064; 95% CI, 0.045-0.083 for women), and tooth loss (ß = 0.043; 95% CI, 0.001-0.085 for men and ß = 0.058; 95% CI, 0.015-0.102 for women). CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that good oral health needs to be maintained to prevent the development of SCC, which increases the risk for future dementia.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Smoking behaviour may have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the April 2020 revised smoke-free policy and the high prevalence of heated tobacco product (HTP) use in Japan (10.9% in 2020). This study examined the association between these three events and smoking behaviour changes using 6-month follow-up data from before and during the pandemic. METHOD: Using longitudinal data from an internet survey conducted in February 2020 (baseline) and follow-up in August to September 2020, prevalence ratios (PR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for smoking behaviour changes (increase and quit) were calculated using multivariable Poisson regression with adjustments for potential covariates including three event-related five factors: fear of COVID-19, living in a COVID-19 endemic area, workplace smoking rules, self-imposed smoking rules at home and type of tobacco use (cigarette only/HTP only/dual use). A smoker who reported an increase in smoking intensity in the last month was defined as an increase. A smoker who had stopped both cigarettes and HTPs at follow-up was defined as a quit. RESULTS: We analysed 1810 tobacco users (1448 males (80%); mean age 50.8 years±13.2 SD). At baseline, 930 participants used cigarettes only, 293 HTPs only and 587 both. While 214 (11.8%) users increased smoking intensity, 259 (14.3%) quit both tobacco products. Those who feared COVID-19 were less likely to quit (PR=0.77, 95% CI 0.68 to 0.95), while living in a COVID-19 endemic area was not associated with either smoking behaviour change. Workplace smoking rules were not associated with either smoking behaviour change, but those with no home smoking ban were less likely to quit. Compared with cigarette-only users, HTP-only users were more likely to quit (PR=1.57, 95% CI 1.17 to 2.11), while dual users were more likely to increase smoking intensity (PR=1.35, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.79). CONCLUSION: During the pandemic, dual cigarette and HTP use increased smoking intensity, whereas HTP-only use was associated with quitting but fear of COVID-19 and not having a home smoking ban made it harder to quit.

RESUMO

Eating alone is reported to deteriorate health; however, the relationship between eating alone and poor dental health remains unclear. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between poor dental health and eating alone. Data of participants (n = 156,287) aged ≥65 years from the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study were evaluated using logistic regression to estimate adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the association between dental status, including prosthesis use, and eating status. Differences in these associations according to living status were also examined. The mean age of participants was 73.7 (SD = 6.0) years. The percentages of participants eating alone with 20 or more teeth, 10-19 teeth with dental prostheses, 0-9 teeth with dental prostheses, 10-19 teeth without dental prostheses, and 0-9 teeth without dental prostheses were 13.8%, 16.0%, 18.6%, 18.9%, and 27.0%, respectively. After adjusting for covariates, participants with 0-9 teeth without any dental prosthesis showed a significantly higher odds ratio for eating alone (OR = 1.81, 95% CI = 1.58-2.07) than those with 20 or more teeth. Among participants with poorer dental status, the probability of eating alone was higher in those living alone than in those living with others. Among older adults, poor dental status was significantly associated with eating alone, and this association was stronger among those living alone. Maintaining better dental status by using a dental prosthesis might reduce the risk of eating alone, especially for those living alone.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: During the mixed dentition period, masticatory performance may temporarily decline as deciduous teeth are replaced by permanent teeth. This may lead to an insufficient intake of chewy foods. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of factors that affect masticatory performance during the dentition exchange period. METHODS: The participants were 229 students in grades 4-6 who were in the lateral dentition exchange period. Shearing performance (SP) was evaluated using gummy jelly, and mixing performance (MP) was evaluated using colour-changing gum. The chewing rate, occlusal force and area, number of teeth, Hellman's tooth age, Rohrer index, grip strength and walking speed were also evaluated. The χ2 test, Mann-Whitney test, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and a generalised linear model were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: SP/MP showed a significant positive correlation with occlusal force, occlusal contact area and chewing rate for gummy jelly and gum but there was a difference in the strength of the correlation between boys and girls. Chewing rate for gummy jelly and gum showed a significant relationship with both SP and MP, suggesting that masticatory performance is higher with slower chewing. Maximum occlusal force was selected as a significant independent variable for SP, and Rohrer index was selected as a significant independent variable for MP. When the occlusal force was higher and the Rohrer index was lower, the masticatory performance tended to be higher. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that masticatory performance during the dentition exchange period is higher with slower chewing and a stronger occlusal force, which may be related to obesity.

The discovery of building blocks offers new opportunities to develop and control properties of extended solids. Compounds with fluorite-type Bi2O2 blocks host various properties including lead-free ferroelectrics and photocatalysts. In this study, we show that triple-layered Bi2MO4 blocks (M = Bi, La, Y) in Bi2MO4Cl allow, unlike double-layered Bi2O2 blocks, to extensively control the conduction band. Depending on M, the Bi2MO4 block is truncated by Bi-O bond breaking, resulting in a series of n-zigzag chain structures (n = 1, 2, ∞ for M = Bi, La, Y, respectively). Thus, formed chain structures are responsible for the variation in the conduction band minimum (-0.36 to -0.94 V vs SHE), which is correlated to the presence or absence of mirror symmetry at Bi. Bi2YO4Cl shows higher photoconductivity than the most efficient Bi2O2-based photocatalyst with promising visible-light photocatalytic activity for water splitting. This study expands the possibilities of thickening (2D to 3D) and cutting (2D to 1D) fluorite-based blocks toward desired photocatalysis and other functions.

RESUMO

Haemophilia is an X-linked inherited bleeding disorder caused by coagulation factor deficiency. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major complication associated with the disease. No study thus far has investigated the safety and efficacy of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for HCC in patients with haemophilia. AIM: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of RFA for HCC in haemophilia patients. METHODS: From July 2008 to June 2019, 217 patients with HCC underwent 300 RFA sessions. Of these, 18 sessions were performed in ten haemophilia patients (H group) and 282 in 207 non-haemophilia patients (NH group). The patients' characteristics, incidence of haemorrhagic complications and rates of local tumour recurrence were compared between the groups. RESULTS: A majority of the haemophilia patients received clotting factor concentrate replacement therapy before and after RFA treatment, with the aim of reaching a plasma clotting factor level of higher than 60%-80%. Twelve haemorrhagic complications were observed in the NH group (4.2%; 12/282). Major bleeding requiring control procedures was observed in two patients and minor bleeding with careful observation was noted in ten patients. No bleeding complications were observed in the H group (0/18). There were no significant differences in the 5-year local tumour recurrence rates after RFA treatment between the groups (35.0% in the H group and 32.1% in the NH group). CONCLUSION: RFA could be an effective and a safe method for HCC treatment in patients with haemophilia.

RESUMO

Crystallographic order-disorder phenomena in solid state compounds are of fundamental interest due to intimate relationship between the structure and properties. Here, by using high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis, we obtained vanadium perovskite oxyhydrides Sr1-xNaxVO3-yHy (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2) with an anion-disordered structure, which is different from anion-ordered SrVO2H synthesized by topochemical reduction. High-pressure and high-temperature synthesis from nominal composition SrVO2H yielded the anion-disordered perovskite SrVO3-yHy (y ∼ 0.4) with a significant amount of byproducts, while Na substitution resulted in the almost pure anion-disordered perovskite Sr1-xNaxVO3-yHy with an increased amount of hydride anion (y ∼ 0.7 for x = 0.2). The obtained disordered phases for x = 0.1 and 0.2 are paramagnetic with almost temperature-independent electronic conductivity, whereas anion-ordered SrVO2H is an antiferromagnetic insulator. Although we obtained the anion-disordered perovskite under high pressure, a first-principles calculation revealed that the application of pressure stabilizes the ordered phase due to a reduced volume in the ordered structure, suggesting that a further increase of the pressure or reduction of the reaction temperature leads to the anion ordering. This study shows that anion ordering in oxyhydrides can be controlled by changing synthetic pressure and temperature.
