RESUMO

Aerial vehicle detection has significant applications in aerial surveillance and traffic control. The pictures captured by the UAV are characterized by many tiny objects and vehicles obscuring each other, significantly increasing the detection challenge. In the research of detecting vehicles in aerial images, there is a widespread problem of missed and false detections. Therefore, we customize a model based on YOLOv5 to be more suitable for detecting vehicles in aerial images. Firstly, we add one additional prediction head to detect smaller-scale objects. Furthermore, to keep the original features involved in the training process of the model, we introduce a Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network (BiFPN) to fuse the feature information from various scales. Lastly, Soft-NMS (soft non-maximum suppression) is employed as a prediction frame filtering method, alleviating the missed detection due to the close alignment of vehicles. The experimental findings on the self-made dataset in this research indicate that compared with YOLOv5s, the mAP@0.5 and mAP@0.5:0.95 of YOLOv5-VTO increase by 3.7% and 4.7%, respectively, and the two indexes of accuracy and recall are also improved.

RESUMO

Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs) using aqueous electrolyte, recently, have been a hot topic owing to the high safety, low cost, and high specific energy capacity. However, the formation of dendrite and side reactions on the Zn anode during cycling inhibit the application of ZIBs. An advanced Zn anode by alloying a small amount of Li and Mn with Zn is hereby reported. It is found that Li and Mn can form cationic ions which restrain lateral diffusion of Zn ions and regulate zinc electrodeposition through the electrostatic shield mechanism. As a result, the formation of Zn dendrite is greatly inhibited. This process also mitigates the formation of Zn-based byproduct and Zn passivation. Consequently, the symmetric ZnLiMn/ZnLiMn cell presents a small overpotential of 30 mV at 1 mA cm-2 , greatly enhanced cycling durability (1000 h at a current density of 1 mA cm-2 ), and a dendrite-free morphology after cycles. Moreover, the authors find that the ZnLiMn alloy has greatly enhanced mechanical properties. The assembled ZnLiMn/MnO2 full cell can retain 96% capacity after 400 cycles at 1 C. Thus, the alloying low-cost Li/Mn strategy is very promising for large-scale production of dendrite-free Zn electrode in rechargeable ZIBs.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The nuclear DNA is conventionally used to assess the diversity and relatedness among different species, but variations at the DNA genome level has also been used to study the relationship among different organisms. In most species, mitochondrial and chloroplast genomes are inherited maternally; therefore it is anticipated that organelle DNA remains completely associated. Many research studies were conducted simultaneously on organelle genome. The objectives of this study was to analyze the genetic relationship between chloroplast and mitochondrial DNA in three Chinese Prunus genotypes viz., Prunus persica, Prunus domestica, and Prunus avium. RESULTS: We investigated the genetic diversity of Prunus genotypes using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers relevant to the chloroplast and mitochondria. Most of the genotypes were genetically similar as revealed by phylogenetic analysis. The Y2 Wu Xing (Cherry) and L2 Hong Xin Li (Plum) genotypes have a high similarity index (0.89), followed by Zi Ye Li (0.85), whereas; L1 Tai Yang Li (plum) has the lowest genetic similarity (0.35). In case of cpSSR, Hong Tao (Peach) and L1 Tai Yang Li (Plum) genotypes demonstrated similarity index of 0.85 and Huang Tao has the lowest similarity index of 0.50. The mtSSR nucleotide sequence analysis revealed that each genotype has similar amplicon length (509 bp) except M5Y1 i.e., 505 bp with CCB256 primer; while in case of NAD6 primer, all genotypes showed different sizes. The MEHO (Peach), MEY1 (Cherry), MEL2 (Plum) and MEL1 (Plum) have 586 bps; while MEY2 (Cherry), MEZI (Plum) and MEHU (Peach) have 585, 584 and 566 bp, respectively. The CCB256 primer showed highly conserved sequences and minute single polymorphic nucleotides with no deletion or mutation. The cpSSR (ARCP511) microsatellites showed the harmonious amplicon length. The CZI (Plum), CHO (Peach) and CL1 (Plum) showed 182 bp; whileCHU (Peach), CY2 (Cherry), CL2 (Plum) and CY1 (Cherry) showed 181 bp amplicon lengths. CONCLUSIONS: These results demonstrated high conservation in chloroplast and mitochondrial genome among Prunus species during the evolutionary process. These findings are valuable to study the organelle DNA diversity in different species and genotypes of Prunus to provide in depth insight in to the mitochondrial and chloroplast genomes.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The relationship between the QRS duration, severity of mechanical dyssynchrony and efficacy of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is poorly understood. We determined if QRS duration shortening in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy after treatment with CRT was predictive of left ventricular (LV) reverse remodelling. METHODS: Thirty patients with dilated cardiomyopathy were enrolled. Electrocardiographic and echocardiographic recordings were obtained before and 6 months after CRT. Patients were classified as CRT responders or non-responders based on their echocardiographic parameters 6 months following CRT. RESULTS: After 6 months of CRT, 9 patients (30%) were classified as non-responders. Surprisingly, no significant differences in any of the preoperative metrics were found between CRT responders and non-responders. In sharp contrast, the postoperative parameters of the CRT responder group had significantly improved compared to the non-responder group. The average QRS duration of the CRT responders was significantly shorter than that of the non-responders (-37 +/- 23 ms vs. 0 +/- 23 ms; P < 0.01). The relationships between preoperative parameters, the change in QRS duration and LV end-diastolic diameter were analysed for each patient using multi-linear correlation and regression analyses. We found that the change in QRS duration positively cor- related with the change in LV endiastolic diameter (R = 0.583, P = 0.001). Furthermore, multi-linear regression analysis suggested that changes in QRS duration had a significant effect on LV end-diastolic diameter (y = 9.739 + 0.272 x, P = 0.006). CONCLUSION: CRT-mediated changes in the QRS duration are predictive of LV reverse remodelling in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.

RESUMO

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play critical regulatory roles mainly through cleaving their target mRNAs or repressing gene translation during plant development. Grapevines are among the most economically important fruit crops with available whole genome sequences. Studies on grapevine miRNAs (Vv-miRNAs) are also widely available. However, studies on the regulation mode of Vv-miRNAs on their target mRNAs during grapevine development have not been studied well, especially at the transcriptome-wide level. Here, six small RNA and mRNA libraries from various grapevine tissues were constructed for Illumina and Degradome sequencing. Subsequently, we systematically analyzed the spatiotemporal variations in the regulation of the target genes of regulation of Vv-miRNAs. In total, 242 known and 132 novel Vv-miRNAs and 193 target mRNAs were identified, including 103 target mRNAs for known and 90 target mRNAs for novel miRNAs, were validated in one or more of the tissues examined. More than 50 % of novel miRNAs were expressed exclusively in the flowers and berries, where they cleaved their target genes in a tissue-specific manner, especially, the breadth of their cleavage sites in flower tissues. Moreover, six novel miRNAs in berries responded to exogenous gibberellin and/or ethylene under a quantitative real time RT-PCR analysis, which confirmed their regulatory functions during berry development. Up to 93.6 % of the known miRNAs were highly conserved in various tissues, where their expression levels exhibited dynamic variations during grapevine development. Significantly, some Vv-miRNA families had one key member that acted as the main regulator of their target genes during grapevine development.

RESUMO

Background: Neurexins, essential synaptic proteins, are linked to neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and schizophrenia. Objective: Through this systematic review, we aimed to shed light on the relationship between neurexin dysfunction and its implications in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric manifestations. Both animal and human-induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) models served as our primary investigative platforms. Methods: Utilizing the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, our search strategy involved scouring articles from the PubMed and Google Scholar databases covering a span of two decades (2003-2023). Of the initial collection, 27 rigorously evaluated studies formed the essence of our review. Results: Our review suggested the significant ties between neurexin anomalies and neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric outcomes, most notably ASD. Rodent-based investigations delineated pronounced ASD-associated behaviors, and hiPSC models derived from ASD-diagnosed patients revealed the disruptions in calcium dynamics and synaptic activities. Additionally, our review underlined the integral role of specific neurexin variants, primarily NRXN1, in the pathology of schizophrenia. It was also evident from our observation that neurexin malfunctions were implicated in a broader array of these disorders, including ADHD, intellectual challenges, and seizure disorders. Conclusion: This review accentuates the cardinal role neurexins play in the pathological process of neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. The findings underscore a critical need for standardized methodologies in developing animal and hiPSC models for future studies, aiming to minimize heterogeneity. Moreover, we highlight the need to expand research into less studied neurexin variants (i.e., NRXN2 and NRXN3), broadening the scope of our understanding in this field. Our observation also projects hiPSC models as potent tools for bridging research gaps, promoting translational research, and fostering the development of patient-specific therapeutic interventions.

RESUMO

Complement activation and prefrontal cortical dysfunction both contribute to the pathogenesis of major depressive disorder (MDD), but their interplay in MDD is unclear. We here studied the role of complement C3a receptor (C3aR) in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and its influence on depressive-like behaviors induced by systematic lipopolysaccharides (LPS) administration. C3aR knockout (KO) or intra-mPFC C3aR antagonism confers resilience, whereas C3aR expression in mPFC neurons makes KO mice susceptible to LPS-induced depressive-like behaviors. Importantly, the excitation and inhibition of mPFC neurons have opposing effects on depressive-like behaviors, aligning with increased and decreased excitability by C3aR deletion and activation in cortical neurons. In particular, inhibiting mPFC glutamatergic (mPFCGlu) neurons, the main neuronal subpopulation expresses C3aR, induces depressive-like behaviors in saline-treated WT and KO mice, but not in LPS-treated KO mice. Compared to hypoexcitable mPFCGlu neurons in LPS-treated WT mice, C3aR-null mPFCGlu neurons display hyperexcitability upon LPS treatment, and enhanced excitation of mPFCGlu neurons is anti-depressant, suggesting a protective role of C3aR deficiency in these circumstances. In conclusion, C3aR modulates susceptibility to LPS-induced depressive-like behaviors through mPFCGlu neuronal excitability. This study identifies C3aR as a pivotal intersection of complement activation, mPFC dysfunction, and depression and a promising therapeutic target for MDD.

RESUMO

Plant variety and cultivar identification is one of the most important aspects in agricultural systems. The large number of varieties or landraces among crop plants has made it difficult to identify and characterize varieties solely on the basis of morphological characters because they are non stable and originate due to environmental and climatic conditions, and therefore phenotypic plasticity is an outcome of adaptation. To mitigate this, scientists have developed and employed molecular markers, statistical tests and software to identify and characterize the required plant cultivars or varieties for cultivation, breeding programs as well as for cultivar-right-protection. The establishment of genome and transcriptome sequencing projects for many crops has led to generation of a huge wealth of sequence information that could find much use in identification of plants and their varieties. We review the current status of plant variety and cultivar identification, where an attempt has been made to describe the different strategies available for plant identification. We have found that despite the availability of methods and suitable markers for a wide range of crops, there is dearth of simple ways of making both morphological descriptors and molecular markers easy, referable and practical to use although there are ongoing attempts at making this possible. Certain limitations present a number of challenges for the development and utilization of modern scientific methods in variety or cultivar identification in many important crops.

RESUMO

AIMS: Complete lead extraction of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) for device-related infections remains a complex procedure for chronically implantated leads. We present data from a single-centre registry of consecutive patients with extractions over 10 years. METHOD AND RESULTS: Patients were identified from the centre's electronic database with CIED-related infections who underwent lead extraction using either the standard technique and equipment or a modified innovative transvenous lead technique extraction using an ablation catheter. Of 151 patients with CIED-related infections, not responding to simple manual traction to effect lead extraction, average age 65 ± 8 years (range 45-82), 64% being male, 75 underwent standard (S) extraction, and 76 underwent modified (M) extraction. Procedural, lead extraction, and fluoroscopy exposure times with S and M methods, respectively, were 65 ± 14 vs. 52 ± 6 min (P < 0.01), 56 ± 12 vs. 36 ± 8 min (P < 0.001), and 48 ± 12 vs. 31 ± 7 min (P < 0.001). Retrieval rates were numerically lower with the standard technique at 92 vs. 96% but did not achieve significance, with respective complication rates of 6.7 and 5.3%. CONCLUSION: In our single-centre study, a modified extraction technique to retrieve leads for infections of CIEDs using a steerable ablation catheter has improved procedural parameters over the standard technique, without compromising clinical lead extraction success rates. This may be a promising approach for a future, prospective trial.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Epigenetic regulation such as aberrant hypermethylation of CpG islands in promoter plays a key role in tumorigenesis. 5-Aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-aza-CdR) which is a potent inhibitor of DNA methylation can reverse the abnormal hypermethylation of the silenced tumor suppressor genes (TSGs). It has been reported that hepatocyte cell adhesion molecule (hepaCAM) acts as a tumor suppressor gene and expression of its mRNA and protein were down-regulated in bladder cancer. Over-expression of hepaCAM can inhibit cancer growth and arrest renal cancer cells at G0/G1 phase. In this study, we investigated the methylation status of hepaCAM gene, as well as the influence of 5-aza-CdR on expression of hepaCAM gene in bladder cancer cells. METHODS: CpG islands in hepaCAM promoter and methprimers were predicted and designed using bioinformatics program. Methylation status of hepaCAM promoter was evaluated in bladder cancer tissues and two cell lines (T24 and BIU-87) by Methylation-specific PCR; Western blot and Immunofluorescence were used to detect expression of hepaCAM protein after 5-aza-CdR treatment; Flow cytometry assay was performed to determine effectiveness of 5-aza-CdR on cell cycle profile. RESULTS: CpG island in promoter of hepaCAM gene was hyper-methylated both in bladder carcinoma tissues and cell lines (T24 and BIU-87). Otherwise, aberrant methylation of its promoter was associated with its decreased expression. Hypermethylation of hepaCAM gene was reversed and expression of its mRNA and protein were re-activated in two cell lines by DNA methyltransferases inhibitor 5-aza-CdR. Flow cytometry assay demonstrated that 5-aza-CdR can inhibit growth of cancer cells by arresting cancer cells at G0/G1 phase. CONCLUSION: Abnormal hypermethylation in CpG island of hepaCAM promoter is involved in absence of hepaCAM gene expression when bladder cancer occurs. Re-activation of hepaCAM gene by 5-aza-CdR can inhibit growth of cancer cells and arrest cells at G0/G1 phase.

RESUMO

A prediction interval (PI) method is developed to quantify the model uncertainty of embankment settlement prediction. Traditional PIs are constructed based on specific past period information and remain unchanged; hence, they neglect discrepancies between previous calculations and new monitoring data. In this paper, a real-time prediction interval correction method is proposed. Time-varying PIs are built by continuously incorporating new measurements into model uncertainty calculations. The method consists of trend identification, PI construction, and real-time correction. Primarily, trend identification is carried out by wavelet analysis to eliminate early unstable noise and determine the settlement trend. Then, the Delta method is applied to construct PIs based on the characterized trend, and a comprehensive evaluation index is introduced. The model output and the upper and lower bounds of the PIs are updated by the unscented Kalman filter (UKF). The effect of the UKF is compared with that of the Kalman filter (KF) and extended Kalman filter (EKF). The method was demonstrated in the Qingyuan power station dam. The results show that the time-varying PIs based on trend data are smoother than those based on original data with better evaluation index scores. Also, the PIs are not affected by local anomalies. The proposed PIs are consistent with the actual measurements, and the UKF performs better than the KF and EKF. The approach has the potential to provide more reliable embankment safety assessments.

RESUMO

Electronic sports game (esports) gaming has seen a surge in popularity, especially during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, with more young people turning to it as an alternative to physical activities. However, the impact of esports gaming on mental health is a matter of concern. Previous studies have produced inconsistent findings on the relationship between gaming hours and mental health, and the moderating factors involved remain unexplored. This study aimed to investigate the moderating effect of participants' subjective attitudes toward esports gaming on the relationship between daily gaming hours and psychological well-being (PWB) among Chinese young adults during the COVID-19 lockdown. A nationwide online survey was conducted on 550 Chinese young adults using the Credamo platform. Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scales (42-Item version) were used to assess PWB levels. The analysis included 453 participants. Gaming hours were negatively correlated with PWB scores. However, when considering the moderating effect of subjective attitudes, the association between gaming hours and PWB scores was largely positive. Our study suggests that subjective attitudes toward esports gaming outweigh gaming hours in promoting personal psychological well-being. We propose practical recommendations for healthy esports participation patterns that prioritize positive attitudes, especially in similar future scenarios like COVID-19. Our findings may inform future psychological intervention and research in the esports domain.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Bile reflux is one of the primary factors involved in the pathogenesis of gastric mucosal lesions in patients with chronic gastritis; however, little is known about the exact histological features of bile reflux and its contributions to gastric mucosal lesions in this disease, especially in children with primary bile reflux gastritis (BRG). The aim of this study was to investigate the classic histological changes of the gastric mucosa in children with primary BRG. METHODS: The Bilitec 2000 was used for 24 h monitoring of gastric bile in 59 children with upper gastrointestinal symptoms. The histological characteristics of the gastric mucosa were examined and scored. RESULTS: Thirteen of the 59 patients had a helicobacter pylori infection and were excluded; therefore, 46 cases were included in this study. The positive rate of pathological duodenogastric reflux was significantly higher in patients with foveolar hyperplasia than those without foveolar hyperplasia; however, the rate was significantly lower in patients with vascular congestion than those without vascular congestion. The longest reflux time and the total percentage time of bile reflux were significantly lower in patients with vascular congestion than those without vascular congestion. A total of 9 types of histological changes were analyzed using a binary logistic regression. Foveolar hyperplasia and vascular congestion in the superficial layer became significant variables in the last step of the stepwise regression. CONCLUSIONS: Foveolar hyperplasia was associated with the severity of bile reflux, suggesting that it is a histological feature of primary BRG in children, while vascular congestion may be a protective factor.

RESUMO

Background: Electronic sports (esports) has become a practical intervention for young people craving social connections since the COVID-19 pandemic. Past studies have shown an equivocal role of esports participation in boosting social ties or social connectedness. It is unclear if their relationship is affected by subjective attitudes of gamers. Moreover, the present COVID-19 pandemic may further modify this relationship to a greater extent. Objective: This study primarily aimed to investigate the moderating effect of participants' subjective attitudes toward esports gaming on the relationship between in-game interaction during esports participation and participants' anticipated social connectedness among Chinese young adults during the COVID-19 lockdown periods in China. Methods: We conducted a nationwide online questionnaire survey through the Credamo platform among 550 Chinese young adults in the present study. The Social Connectedness Scale-Revised was used to assess participants' social connectedness levels. Results: Four hundred and fifty-three participants were included in the final analysis. The effective response rate was 82.4%. Our results showed that the esports participation measured by in-game communication frequency among participants, as an independent factor, was negatively associated with participants' social connectedness scores (ß = -0.13, p < 0.05). However, when the moderating effect of subjective attitudes toward esports gaming was considered, the association between communication frequency and social connectedness scores was turned into the opposite direction with a larger effect size (ß = 0.35, p < 0.001). Conclusion: Our primary finding revealed that a positive mindset in esports gaming is indispensable in boosting social connectedness. Overall, our study provided supporting evidence for the benefits of esports on individuals' social connectedness. In future circumstances similar to the COVID-19 era, playing esports games is strongly encouraged in an attempt to maintain social connections and relieve psychological stress. In the meantime, we believe that having a positive esports experience, often associated with a positive mindset during gaming, can better promote social connectedness. Nevertheless, the amount of time spent on gaming per day should be of great concern, as esports games can be addictive, especially for teenagers and college students.

RESUMO

Parents' knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are crucial in the selection of the treatment strategy and how to care for children with ADHD. However, little is known about parents' conception in mainland China. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to assess this information with 25 true/false questions regarding ADHD, and other questions investigating the methods of acquiring ADHD-related information, treatment preference, and concerns about ADHD treatment strategy. We found that the average score of all the participants was 17.42 ± 2.69 (total of 25 points) for the questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about ADHD. This indicated that the parents had insufficient knowledge of this disease profile. They always accessed specialized information through mobile internet. For the treatment options, the investigated parents chose psychotherapy treatment rather than medications, in that they worried about the side effects of medication and expected to find alternative treatment strategies. The present investigation demonstrated that most parents lack knowledge about ADHD in treatment decision making in China. Medical professionals should provide parents with evidence-based ADHD-related information to help them understand this disease.

RESUMO

Hepatocyte cell adhesion molecule (hepaCAM) encodes a generally inactive phosphorylated glycoprotein which mediates cancer cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation. We have reported that hepaCAM is down-regulated in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and takes responsibility of cell growth inhibition. However, the precise mechanisms of hepaCAM inhibits cell growth is still unknown. In this study, we demonstrated that re-expression of hepaCAM can cause an accumulation in G0/G1 phase in 786-0 cells. This reaction was accompanied by a substantial reduction of c-Myc expression through using an ectopic hepaCAM expression system. Furthermore, we found a comparable decrease in proliferation and G0/G1 accumulation of 786-0 and RC-2 cells after treatment with a small molecule c-Myc inhibitor, 10058-F4. This indicated that the down regulation of c-Myc was an essential process in controlling growth inhibitory actions of hepaCAM. Nevertheless, re-expression of hepaCAM results in apparent reduction of c-Myc protein with no corresponding reduction of c-Myc mRNA. This suggests that this reaction might take place at a post-transcriptional level rather than transcriptional one. Consistent with these findings, hepaCAM decreased c-Myc stability by increasing the proportion of c-Myc phosphorylation on T58 which can be abrogated by a proteasomal inhibitor (MG132). Thus, our research implies that the decrease in c-Myc protein expression, resulting from ectopic expression of hepaCAM, may contribute to the inhibition of proliferation in these cells.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aVR lead four steps is a new algorithm for differential diagnosis of wide QRS complex tachycardia (WCT). The study explores the clinical value of this new algorithm on differential diagnosis of WCT. METHODS: Application of aVR lead four steps to analysis the electrocardiogram of patients with WCT proved by electrophysiological study. Every step's accuracy rate, sensitivity and specificity to differential diagnosis of ventricular tachycardia (VT) were calculated. The first step diagnosed VT according to presence of an initial R wave in the aVR lead. The second step diagnosed VT according to width of an initial r or q wave > 40 ms in the aVR lead. The third step diagnosed VT according to notching on the initial downstroke of a predominantly negative QRS complex in the aVR lead. The fourth step diagnosis VT according to ventricular activation-velocity ratio (Vi/Vt) in the aVR lead, Vi/Vt ≤ 1 suggested VT. Results derived from aVR lead four steps algorithm were compared with results derived from Brugada and Vereckei four steps algorithm. RESULTS: A total of 113 patients with WCT were analyzed (31 supraventricular tachycardia, SVT and 82 ventricular tachycardia, VT). The accuracy rate of differential diagnosis VT is 91.2%, sensitivity is 90.2% and specificity is 77.4%. The accuracy and sensitivity of the aVR lead four steps algorithm for differential diagnosis of WCT were superior to the Brugada Vereckei four steps algorithm (P < 0.05). The specificity of the Vereckei four steps algorithm was superior to aVR lead and Brugada four steps algorithm (P < 0.05), while the specificity of the aVR lead four steps algorithm was similar as Brugada four steps algorithm (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The aVR lead four steps algorithm is associated with excellent accuracy rate, sensitivity for differential diagnosis of WCT. This algorithm is simple and could be easily learned and applied by physician.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the value of multiple Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) antibody detection by protein array in the diagnosis of H.pylori infection in children. METHODS: Biopsy specimens obtained by gastroscopy from 120 children with digestive system symptoms were detected by rapid urease test (RUT) and modified Giemsa staining. Positivity in both RUT and Giemsa staining was the "gold criterion" of H.pylori infection. Serum samples of these patients were obtained and the antibodies against cytotoxin associated gene A protein (CagA), vacuolating toxin A (VacA), urease, heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60) and RdxA (nitroreductase) were detected by protein array technique. RESULTS: H.pylori infection was identified according to the "gold criterion" in 60 children. Compared with the "gold criterion", the goodness of fit and the coefficient of contingency in the diagnosis of H.pylori infection of the following four groups antibody detection were all statistically significant (P<0.001): anti-Ure antibody alone, anti-Ure antibody combined with anti-CagA antibody, anti-Ure antibody combined with anti-VacA antibody and anti-Ure antibody combined with anti-CagA and anti-VacA antibody. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the detection of anti-Ure antibody combined with anti-CagA antibody for the diagnosis of H.pylori infection were 81.7%, 91.7% and 86.7%, respectively. The antibody detection showed a high positive predictive value (90.7%) and a high negative predictive value (83.3%). CONCLUSIONS: The antibody detection by protein array, especially the detection of anti-Ure antibody combined with anti-CagA antibody, is valuable in the diagnosis of H.pylori infection.

RESUMO

Multi-label activity recognition is designed for recognizing multiple activities that are performed simultaneously or sequentially in each video. Most recent activity recognition networks focus on single-activities, that assume only one activity in each video. These networks extract shared features for all the activities, which are not designed for multi-label activities. We introduce an approach to multi-label activity recognition that extracts independent feature descriptors for each activity and learns activity correlations. This structure can be trained end-to-end and plugged into any existing network structures for video classification. Our method outperformed state-of-the-art approaches on four multi-label activity recognition datasets. To better understand the activity-specific features that the system generated, we visualized these activity-specific features in the Charades dataset. The code will be released later.

RESUMO

We introduce a real-time system for recognizing five phases of the trauma resuscitation process, the initial management of injured patients in the emergency department. We used depth videos as input to preserve the privacy of the patients and providers. The depth videos were recorded using a Kinect-v2 mounted on the sidewall of the room. Our dataset consisted of 183 depth videos of trauma resuscitations. The model was trained on 150 cases with more than 30 minutes each and tested on the remaining 33 cases. We introduced a reduced long-term operation (RLO) method for extracting features from long segments of video and combined it with the regular model having short-term information only. The model with RLO outperformed the regular short-term model by 5% using the accuracy score. We also introduced a progress gate (PG) method to distinguish visually similar phases using video progress. The final system achieved 91% accuracy and significantly outperformed previous systems for phase recognition in this setting.
