RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To present the nurse's integration within materials management of six teaching hospitals of Paraná - Brazil, and to describe the activities performed by nurses within this process. METHOD: A study of a qualitative approach and descriptive nature, conducted in teaching hospitals in Paraná, between June and August of 2013. The data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with eight nurses who worked in materials management; data were analyzed using content analysis. RESULTS: These showed that nurses perform ten categories of activities, distributed into four of the five steps of the materials management process. CONCLUSION: The nurse, in performing of these activities, in addition to favoring the development of participative management, contributes to the organization, planning, and the standardization of the hospital supply process, giving greater credibility to the work with professionals who use the materials, and to the suppliers.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To relate the managerial competencies required of nurses with the process of change experienced in the expansion of the Family Health Strategy (FHS). METHOD: A qualitative research conducted in primary health care in a southern Brazilian city, through interviews with 32 managerial and clinical nurses. The interviews were processed by IRAMUTEQ software. The resulting classes were examined under five managerial competencies to promote change. RESULTS: The four classes obtained from data were: the Family Health Strategy expansion process; confrontations and potentialities; mobilization for the change; innovations in medical and nursing consultations. The classes were related to one or more competencies. CONCLUSION: The expansion of the Family Health Strategy requires managerial competencies of implementing and sustaining change, negotiating agreements and commitments, using power and influence ethically and effectively, sponsoring and selling new ideas, and encouraging and promoting innovation.

RESUMO

This paper presents an international academic partnership in teaching and research with two case studies. The cases explore the integration of Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare (SBNH) and SBNH-Leadership (SBNH-L) in nursing science programs. SBNH values and foundations were integrated within an undergraduate-level community health course in Canada and SBNH-L was introduced into a graduate-level program in Brazil. Both cases comprise active learning activities promoting the uptake of the values and foundations of SBNH and the capacity to identify strengths and innate capacities. This paper synthesizes the issues and provides recommendations to enhance teaching-learning strategies to support SBNH adoption by students to support the humanization of healthcare. International partnerships in education and research and facilitating factors are discussed.

INTRODUCTION: nurses working at the hematopoietic stem cells transplantation (HSCT) unit execute very specialized activities since transplantation is more than just being complex but involves a set of procedural techniques. OBJECTIVE: describe activities completed by nurses working at HSCT units and classify them according to the frame of reference of a Brazilian HSTC unit. METHOD: A qualitative descriptive research was carried out in May 2011 with 12 nurses using systematic observation techniques of their daily activities for a total of 77 hours. RESULTS: staff nurses principally carry out caregiving activities and education whereas those related to cooperation, coordination and supervision are mainly executed by the nurse manager and visiting nurses. CONCLUSION: nurses carry out all functions. They take charge of all transplant patients treatments and services. In some way, nurses exceed the scope of the profession.

OBJECTIVES: This article aims to analyze the vulnerabilities experienced by Haitian adolescent girls before their pregnancy. METHODS: A qualitative research design was developed from Dewey's social survey. From October 2020 to January 2021, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 33 pregnant adolescents living in Haiti's North and North-East departments. Thematic data analysis was performed using the qualitative data analysis software QDA miner, 6.0.5. RESULTS: The adolescent girls interviewed were between 14 and 19. The study showed that adolescent girls experienced economic and social hardship, gender issues, and barriers to contraceptive use before pregnancy. These girls have experienced restrictive conditions that make them vulnerable to risky sexual practices and unwanted pregnancy. CONCLUSIONS: The results have indicated that Haitian adolescent girls' vulnerabilities before their pregnancy result from economic, social, and cultural injustices to which they are exposed from early childhood. These adolescent girls are also highly vulnerable to sexual exploitation and rape, as well as pregnancy. It is essential to address these issues when implementing programs aimed at improving the living conditions of adolescents in Haiti, including the prevention of early and unwanted pregnancy.

OBJECTIVE: To identify elements of the Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare in the maternity nurses care practice in a perspective of continuity of care. METHOD: Qualitative exploratory-descriptive study. A focus group was used for data collection, seven meetings were held with 18 nurses between August 2019 and January 2020, starting from a priori categories: "problem-based nursing care" and "strengths-based nursing and healthcare". RESULTS: In the first category, nurses' care is centered on problems identified in women; they keep a hierarchical relationship and a prescriptive posture based on a biomedical model. In the second category, care is focused on singularity, empowerment, self-determination, learning, collaborative partnership, and promotion of women's health, based on a holistic nursing model. CONCLUSION: Although nurses use the biomedical model in their care practice, many of them already use the framework elements empirically. Applying this theoretical framework allows nurses to shift the focus of their attention from the disease to the person/family, promoting health and the continuity of care in a holistic way.

OBJECTIVES: to identify the strategies for integrated care used regarding Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases in a Health District. METHODS: a case study developed in a district of a municipality in southern Brazil, with 34 participants (coordinators and nursing assistants). Data were collected between August 2016 and June 2017, through interviews, documents and computerized files. To organize the data, the MAXQDA® software was used. Analysis took place using the Integrated Care Network model. RESULTS: integration strategies were highlighted in the systemic, normative and functional dimensions, such as coordination, district organization, Annual Operating Plan, information system, and user management service. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: the district comprises a structure that enables interactions through various tools; among these, coordination represents an effective strategy to enhance care, boost cooperation among professionals and support and manage the district.

OBJECTIVE: to report the experience of implementing care management strategies in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic in a teaching hospital. METHOD: this is an experience report of the managers who work at the largest public hospital in Paraná with functions as Head of the Care Management Division, Head of the Care Lines Management Sector, Head of the Infectiology Unit and support team. RESULTS: care management strategies were structured based on the service dynamics; physical structure; human Resources; professional and user safety. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: preparing for a pandemic involves measures that include modifying infrastructure and processes, managing employees and users, infection prevention strategies, and clinical recommendations. These measures are necessary to optimize the quality of care provided to users with COVID-19 and to reduce the risk of viral transmission to other users or health professionals.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the role of nurses in the integration of care for people with chronic noncommunicable diseases. METHOD: This was an integrated single-case study conducted with care coordinators and nurses, purposefully selected, with interviews, documentary analysis and computerized files as sources of evidence. Categorical analysis was used based on data organization using MAXQDA® software, version 2018. RESULTS: Thirty-four professionals participated. Most of the professionals who held coordination positions were nurses. The categories clinical team integration and care integration and their subcategories increased understanding of the roles of nurses. CONCLUSION: The role of nurses in integrating care for people with chronic noncommunicable diseases was mainly focused on coordination of care, which occurred because of the different roles that they play and that give them autonomy to make decisions and place them in the front line to contribute to situations that required assertive attitudes, such as directing users within the care network.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the liaison nurse competences at hospital discharge in the light of Strengths-Based Nursing Care theoretical reference. METHOD: Descriptive and qualitative study, developed at the province of Quebéc-Canada, with 23 liaison nurses. The data were collected from March to July 2016, by a semi-structured questionnaire via Survey Monkey® electronic platform and analyzed through the content analysis, supported by software Qualitativa Data Analysis Miner. RESULTS: The categories that has emerged were: competences related to patient care, competences related to personal characteristics of the liaison nurse and managerial competences. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Liaison nurses hold a set of competences from different dimensions, which provide the care centered in the person, in its potentialities, and assure the continuity of patient care with hospital discharge.

RESUMO

This paper aims to identify the demand and potential activities of the Liaison Nurse position in the Hospital de Clínicas of the Universidade Federal do Paraná. It is a descriptive research, based on a case study, and it was carried out in two stages, within August 2007 to May 2008. In the first stage, and through the use of forms, it was made a follow-up of hospital discharges. Then, it was selected a hospital admission unit in which a Liaison Nurse treated discharged patients, and ten of them were interviewed through the use of a semi-structured questionnaire. Lastly, the interviews were categorized and the data obtained was submitted so as its content could be analyzed. The results demonstrated that the implementation of the Liaison Nurse position is an essential step in the integration of the HC/UFPR to the network and promote the medical care integrity.

OBJECTIVES: to analyze the performance of nurses in the Bed Management service of a public teaching hospital. METHODS: descriptive, qualitative research inspired by Dubois theoretical model. 32 participants from the bed management unit and care units of a public hospital were interviewed from February to May 2018. Observations and data records from the Bed Management service complemented data collection. Theme/Category-Based Content Analysis was used. RESULTS: the performance of nurses was described in three analysis matrices, represented by the categories: acquisition, implementation and maintenance of nursing resources; transformation of nursing resources into nursing service and results of the work of the nurse in Bed Management. Final Considerations: understanding the performance of nurses in bed management contributes to the scenario of new practices and different roles that favor visibility and strengthening of the nurse's identity.

OBJECTIVE: to describe the activities developed by the liaison nurses for the continuity of care after hospital discharge. METHOD: descriptive, qualitative study, based on the theoretical reference. Strength Based Care. The sample comprised 23 liaison nurses. The data was collected through a semi-structured questionnaire via Survey Monkey electronic platform and analyzed through the content analysis technique, with pre-defined categories. RESULTS: among the liaison nurses, nine (39.14%), between 35 and 44 years of age; 17 (73.91%) were female; 15 (65.22%) were working eleven years or more nurse and 11 (47.82%), were between six and ten years old as a liaison nurse. The professionals participate in the identification of the patients who need care after hospital discharge, coordinate the planning of the hospital discharge and transfer the patient's information to an extra-hospital service. CONCLUSION: the activities developed by the liaison nurses focus on the needs of the patient and the articulation with the extra-hospital services, and can be adapted to the Brazilian context as a strategy to minimize the discontinuity of care at the time of hospital discharge.

OBJECTIVE: To learn the profile and activities carried out by the Hospital Nurse Liaison for the continuity of care in Primary Health Care in Spain. METHOD: An exploratory study with a qualitative approach developed in five University Hospitals in Madrid and three in Barcelona, with Hospital Nurse Liaisons who work in Hospitals in Madrid (8) and Barcelona (11). An online questionnaire was applied with open and closed questions for data collection. The data were analyzed by the content analysis technique in the thematic modality. RESULTS: Nineteen (19) Hospital Nurse Liaisons participated in the study. The liaisons' ages ranged from 26 to 64 years old, the majority were women (94.73%) with experience between 21 and 30 years (52.63%), and had worked in this job between 6 months and 26 years. The Nurse Liasion is required to perform a clinical assessment of the patient prior to discharge and to contact the Nurse in the patient's area of origin by telephone or e-mail. It is necessary to have experience as an educator, to work in a team and have motivation. CONCLUSION: Nurses in Spain perform care continuity for Primary Health Care, in which their activities encompass the availability of resources and experience in managing the care of complex patients and their families.

RESUMO

This study was carried out at a teaching hospital in Southern Brazil, which adopted a management model that provoked the dismantling of the nursing service and the disbandment of nursing professionals. Its general goal was to promote changes that would be implemented in the re-organization of nursing work. It is a case study with a historical-dialectic approach, whose data were collected in March and April 2005 through the focal group technique. The study subjects were eight nurses, two technicians and two nursing auxiliaries. Data were analyzed through thematic content analysis. Results evidenced that the greatest challenges nursing faced at this hospital were: to construct a new identity, carry out teamwork while maintaining its professional identity, acquire visibility in the institution, change care and expand management.

Objetivo: identificar as contribuições do Núcleo Interno de Regulação para a segurança do paciente. Método: pesquisa qualitativa desenvolvida entre agosto a outubro de 2020. Foram realizadas entrevistas audiogravadas junto a 13 profissionais que atuavam nas enfermarias, no pronto-socorro, na gestão da qualidade e no Núcleo Interno de Regulação. Os dados foram analisados com o auxílio do software IraMuteq® e as etapas propostas por Creswell. Resultados: os achados revelaram que o Núcleo Interno de Regulação contribui para a segurança do paciente, entornando as metas instituídas: comunicação efetiva; identificação do paciente; redução do risco de infecções associadas aos cuidados em saúde - a pandemia de COVID-19 foi apresentada como um importante dado; segurança para cirurgia, uma vez que agiliza o acesso ao hospital para procedimento cirúrgico; e diminuição de filas de espera. Ainda, contribui para prevenir complicações decorrentes de quedas, pois o paciente pode ser alocado com agilidade num leito seguro. Por fim, o enfermeiro, no seu papel de liderança do serviço e como elo para a gerência do cuidado seguro, também se mostrou importante. Conclusão: embora algumas fragilidades tenham sido detectadas, a contribuição do Núcleo Interno de Regulação se sobressai por fortalecer as metas da segurança do paciente. Em razão disso, reafirma-se a importância de fluxos regulatórios na perspectiva de gestão de leitos hospitalares, assim como os preceitos da segurança do paciente almejada pelos gestores. Não obstante, o enfermeiro atua como elo entre esses dois cenários.(AU)


Objective: to identify the contributions of the Internal Regulation Core to patient safety. Method: qualitative research carried out between August and October 2020. Audio-recorded interviews were carried out with 13 professionals who worked in the wards, in the emergency room, in quality management and in the Internal Regulation Center. Data were analyzed using the IraMuteq® software and the steps proposed by Creswell. Results: the findings revealed that the Internal Regulation Nucleus contributes to patient safety, bypassing the established goals: effective communication; patient identification; reduction in the risk of infections associated with health care - the COVID-19 pandemic was presented as an important fact; safety for surgery, as it speeds up access to the hospital for a surgical procedure; and reduction of queues. It also helps to prevent complications resulting from falls, as the patient can be quickly allocated to a safe bed. Finally, the nurse, in his role as a leader in the service and as a link in the management of safe care, also proved to be important. Conclusion: although some weaknesses were detected, the contribution of the Internal Regulation Center stands out for strengthening patient safety goals. As a result, the importance of regulatory flows from the perspective of hospital bed management is reaffirmed, as well as the precepts of patient safety desired by managers. Nevertheless, the nurse acts as a link between these two scenarios.(AU)


Objetivo: identificar los aportes del Núcleo Interno Normativo para la seguridad del paciente. Método: investigación cualitativa desarrollada de agosto a octubre de 2020. Se realizaron entrevistas audiograbadas a 13 profesionales que trabajaban en las salas, en el servicio de urgencias, en la Gestión de Calidad y en el Núcleo Interno Normativo. Los datos fueron analizados con la ayuda del software IraMuteq® y los pasos propuestos por Creswell. Resultados: los hallazgos revelaron que el Núcleo Interno Normativo contribuye a la seguridad del paciente, desbordando los objetivos establecidos: comunicación eficaz; identificación del paciente; reducción del riesgo de infecciones asociadas a la asistencia sanitaria - la pandemia COVID-19 se presentó como un dato importante; en la seguridad para la cirugía, ya que agiliza el acceso al hospital para procedimientos quirúrgicos y, en la reducción de las colas de espera. También contribuye a la prevención de complicaciones derivadas de caídas, ya que el paciente puede ser ubicado rápidamente en una cama segura. Y, finalmente, el enfermero, en su papel de líder en el servicio, como enlace en la gestión del cuidado seguro, también resultó ser un resultado importante. Conclusión: aunque se detectaron algunas debilidades, se destaca la contribución del Núcleo Interno Normativo en el fortalecimiento de las metas de seguridad del paciente. Como resultado, reafirma la importancia de los flujos normativos desde la perspectiva de la gestión de camas hospitalarias, así como los preceptos de seguridad del paciente deseados por los gestores. Sin embargo, la enfermera actúa como enlace entre estos dos escenarios.(AU)

Objetivo: avaliar a contrarreferência como estratégia para a continuidade do cuidado às mulheres e recém-nascidos de uma maternidade de risco habitual para a atenção primária de saúde. Métodos: estudo qualitativo realizado em maternidade de risco habitual e em unidades de saúde em Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados entre setembro e novembro de 2020, com enfermeiros das unidades de saúde e mulheres que tiveram a alta contrarrefenciada da maternidade. Mediante análise de conteúdo, as falas foram estratificadas em temas e subtemas pré-definidos pelo referencial teórico adotado, que prevê três categorias de continuidade do cuidado e suas respectivas dimensões. Resultados: participaram oito enfermeiros e seis puérperas. Emergiram das entrevistas 26 estratos. Destacaram-se, na Categoria informacional, a dimensão "o uso das informações obtidas pela contrarreferência para continuidade do cuidado"; na Categoria relacional a dimensão "a importância de vínculo entre profissionais e pacientes", e na Categoria gerencial "a utilização de mecanismos de rede para um cuidado efetivo". Conclusão: a contrarreferência foi evidenciada como estratégia para continuidade de cuidado pelos dois grupos investigados, capaz de proporcionar subsídios para promover um cuidado eficiente para as puérperas. Entretanto, há necessidade de otimizar instrumentos de contrarreferência padronizados, efetivando o processo na rede de saúde.


Objective: to evaluate counter-referral as a strategy for the continuity of care of women and newborns from a usual-risk maternity hospital to primary health care. Methods: qualitative study developed in a usual-risk maternity and in health units in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Data collection period was between September and November 2020 with nurses from the health units and women who had counter-referral discharge from the maternity hospital. After content analysis, the speeches were divided into themes and subthemes predefined by the theoretical framework adopted, which provides for three categories of continuity of care and their respective dimensions. Results: eight nurses and six puerperal women participated. Twenty-six strata emerged from the interviews. Highlights, in the Informational category, the dimension "the use of information obtained by counter-referral for continuity of care"; in the Relational category, the dimension "the importance of professional-patient bonding", and in the Managerial category, "the use of network mechanisms for effective care". Conclusion:the counter-referral was evidenced as a strategy for continuity of care by the two groups investigated, capable of providing support to promote efficient care for puerperal women. However, there is a need to optimize standardized counter-referral instruments, making the process effective in the health network.


Objetivo: evaluar la contrarreferencia como estrategia para la continuidad de la atención a mujeres y recién nacidos en una maternidad de riesgo habitual para la atención primaria de salud. Métodos: estudio cualitativo desarrollado en maternidades de riesgo habitual y en unidades de salud de Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil. El período de recolección de datos fue entre septiembre y noviembre de 2020 con enfermeros de las unidades de salud y mujeres que tuvieron alta por contrarreferencia de la maternidad. A través del análisis de contenido, los discursos fueron divididos en temas y subtemas predefinidos por el referencial teórico adoptado, que prevé tres categorías de continuidad del cuidado y sus respectivas dimensiones. Results: eight nurses and six puerperal women participated. Twenty-six strata emerged from the interviews. Highlights, in the Informational category, the dimension "the use of information obtained by counter-referral for continuity of care"; in the Relational category, the dimension "the importance of professional-patient bonding", and in the Managerial category, "the use of network mechanisms for effective care". Conclusión: la contrarreferencia se evidenció como una estrategia de continuidad del cuidado por parte de los dos grupos investigados, capaz de brindar apoyo para promover el cuidado eficiente de la puérpera. Sin embargo, existe la necesidad de optimizar los instrumentos estandarizados de contrarreferencia, haciendo efectivo el proceso en la red de salud.

RESUMO

Objetivo: compreender as perspectivas de enfermeiros hospitalares sobre a sua atuação no gerenciamento de crise face à pandemia COVID-19. Método: estudo qualitativo, descritivo, exploratório, realizado entre dezembro de 2021 a março de 2022 em hospital público. Participaram 22 enfermeiros, por meio de entrevista audiogravada guiada com seis perguntas abertas. Foi aplicado análise de conteúdo de Creswell auxiliado pelo software Iramuteq®. Resultados: das análises, emergiram quatro classes: Atuação dos enfermeiros refletida nos indicadores assistenciais e gerenciais; Dificuldades enfrentadas pelos enfermeiros para atuar durante a pandemia; Experiências anteriores dos enfermeiros como norte para a atuação na pandemia; Atuação dos enfermeiros em estratégias para o gerenciamento da crise COVID-19. Conclusão: a atuação do enfermeiro refletiu nos indicadores em detrimento às dificuldades no trabalho, principalmente, relacionados ao déficit de recursos humanos. Para gerenciar a crise, usaram de experiências anteriores tais como o H1N1 e estratégias indissociáveis à gestão/assistência para mitigar os impactos e atender a demanda(AU)


Objective: to understand the perspectives of hospital nurses on their role in crisis management in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: qualitative, descriptive, exploratory study carried out between December 2021 and March 2022 in a public hospital. 22 nurses participated in a guided audio-recorded interview with six open questions. Creswell content analysis aided by Iramuteq® software was applied. Results: from data analysis, four classes emerged: Nurses' performance reflected in care and management indicators; Difficulties faced by nurses to act during the pandemic; Previous experiences of nurses as a guide for acting in the pandemic; Nurses' performance in strategies for managing the COVID-19 crisis. Conclusion: The performance of the nurse was reflected in the indicators to the detriment of the difficulties at work, mainly related to the deficit of human resources. To manage the crisis, they used previous experiences such as H1N1 and strategies inseparable from management/assistance to mitigate impacts and meet demand(AU)

Resultados: de los análisis, surgieron cuatro clases: actuación de los enfermeros reflejada en indicadores de atención y gestión; dificultades que enfrentan los enfermeros que trabajan durante la pandemia; experiencias previas de enfermeros como guía para trabajar en la pandemia; actuación de los enfermeros en las estrategias de gestión de la crisis de la COVID-19. RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: to identify the profile of the counter-referred patients by the "nurse liaison" and to describe the experience of the professionals who participated in the project. METHOD: intervention research, with twelve nursing nurses from a hospital and an Emergency Care Unit, and 26 nurses from Primary Health Care. Data were obtained through questionnaires and counter-referral forms. RESULTS: Out of 43 counter-referred individuals, 62.8% are over sixty years, 53.5% are men with multi-pathologies. Among the positive aspects, the nurses highlighted the dialogue between health care services, agility in the acquisition of inputs for the continuity of care in primary care, benefiting patients after hospital discharge. The greatest challenge was the lack of time and the deficit of nurses to perform the function. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: the presence of the "nurse liaison" has proved to be an important strategy to improve integration between services and to promote continuity of care.

Abstract Objective: To identify elements of the Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare in the maternity nurses care practice in a perspective of continuity of care. Method: Qualitative exploratory-descriptive study. A focus group was used for data collection, seven meetings were held with 18 nurses between August 2019 and January 2020, starting from a priori categories: "problem-based nursing care" and "strengths-based nursing and healthcare". Results: In the first category, nurses' care is centered on problems identified in women; they keep a hierarchical relationship and a prescriptive posture based on a biomedical model. In the second category, care is focused on singularity, empowerment, self-determination, learning, collaborative partnership, and promotion of women's health, based on a holistic nursing model. Conclusion: Although nurses use the biomedical model in their care practice, many of them already use the framework elements empirically. Applying this theoretical framework allows nurses to shift the focus of their attention from the disease to the person/family, promoting health and the continuity of care in a holistic way.


RESUMO Objetivo: Identificar na prática assistencial dos enfermeiros da maternidade elementos do "Strenghts-Based Nursing and Healthcare", em uma perspectiva de continuidade do cuidado. Método: Estudo exploratório-descritivo qualitativo. Utilizou grupo focal para coleta de dados, foram realizados sete encontros com 18 enfermeiros entre agosto de 2019 e janeiro de 2020, partindo-se de categorias a priori: "o cuidado de enfermagem baseado nos problemas" e "cuidado de enfermagem baseado no Strenghts-Based Nursing and Healthcare". Resultados: Na primeira categoria, os enfermeiros cuidam centrados nos problemas identificados nas mulheres; mantêm relação hierárquica e postura prescritiva assente num modelo biomédico. Na segunda categoria, os cuidados centram-se na singularidade, empoderamento, autodeterminação, aprendizagem, parceria colaborativa e promoção da saúde da mulher, assente num modelo de enfermagem holístico. Conclusão: Apesar de o modelo biomédico ser utilizado na prática assistencial dos enfermeiros, muitos deles já utilizam empiricamente os elementos do referencial. Aplicar esse referencial teórico permite aos enfermeiros deslocar o foco de sua atenção da doença para a pessoa/família, promover a saúde e a continuidade dos cuidados de forma holística.


RESUMEN Objetivo: Identificar en la práctica asistencial de los enfermeros de la maternidad elementos del "Strenghts-Based Nursing and Healthcare", en una perspectiva de continuidad del cuidado. Método: Estudio exploratorio-descriptivo cualitativo. Se utilizó grupo focal para la recolección de datos, fueron realizados siete encuentros con 18 enfermeros entre agosto de 2019 y enero de 2020, iniciando con categorías a priori: "el cuidado de enfermería basado en los problemas y "cuidado de enfermería basado en el Strenghts-Based Nursing and Healthcare". Resultados: En la primera categoría los enfermeros cuidan y se fundamentan en los problemas identificados en las mujeres; mantienen relación jerárquica y postura prescriptiva siguiendo un modelo biomédico. En la segunda categoría, los cuidados se concentran en la singularidad, empoderamiento, autodeterminación, aprendizaje, colaboración y promoción de la salud de la mujer, basada en un modelo de enfermería holístico. Conclusión: A pesar del modelo biomédico ser utilizado en la práctica asistencial de los enfermeros, muchos de ellos ya utilizan empíricamente los elementos del referencial. Aplicarlo permite a los enfermeros cambiar el enfoque de su atención de la enfermedad a la persona/familia, promoción de la salud y la continuidad de los cuidados de forma holística.
